Fantasy [Private] El Stories

Oblivio

He stared at the crystal 'many' people depended on.

"If people depend on this Crystal of El here,"
he started, picking it up. "What makes you think you can trust it with a random stranger?"

It wasn't like he was planning on doing anything with it, he was merely curious.

Ash
Ash notices Rain and some unknown boy as they both arrive and begin helping out, "Took you long enough." Ash said as he dug his shield into the head of one of the demons. "Create party link: Rena" Casting a spell used in the adventurers guild to communicate with those in your party Ash wanted to check up on Rena. "Rena this is Ash, how is everything over there?"

She got up from the hit, only mildly annoyed by the impact. Lara looked at her assailants and growled in anger. The man in chains was faster than expected. Quickly she froze the demons in place and crushed their bodies, feeling refreshed with the feeling of the vital energy she had drained from them.

"You demon bastard!"

She ignored the child's question and leapt towards the chained man, using Water's shadow again; draining the child's mana to produce enough poison to kill the remaining demons before she reached the demon that was taking away the shard. In her invisible state, she stabbed his back with all her might, injecting the remaining poison of her weapons and pushed the crystal away from his reach, crushing the demon's hand and pushing the chain that was attached to the crystal away towards the child.

"Go take it you moron! Flee! I don't care what you do with it, it will be surely be better than giving it to these demon scum!"

"You bitch!" He screamed as he convulsed from both the pain and the poison taking effect.

His chains were flailing, clanking violently against each other.

Rising from the earth, staggering with each push, he looked at the female from before.

Looking up, he saw a person flying with the crystal.

"Hehe... That's fine.. I got a piece of it for myself!" He yelled triumphant before feeding it to his chains.

The device from earlier fell onto the floor completely destroyed.

"Let's see how powerful this thing truly is..." His voice started to distort as if another being spoke with him. "In the hands of mine and Samael!" A wave of energy pushed back the female while the poison that was administered was cleansed thanks to the El. His sclera took a slight darker tone while his hazel eyes turned a deep blue that spelled danger.

"Let's have some fun before my way is clear!" He rushed forward with his chains turning into metallic snakes.

Groaning in pain, Rena pushed herself off the ground with her elbows.

"That kid... I haven't seen him in a few years and he goes and punches my face."

As she pulled herself to her feet, the soft note of a bell sounded in her ear and she heard Ash's voice speaking.

"Ash? I met a bit of trouble. The commander of these demons. He's-"

She was cut off as one of the demons charged her. She dodged to the side and shot it with an arrow.

"He's..."

For some reason, Rena felt like she couldn't easily reveal her connection with Dust. She kicked another demon that tried to spear her and sent an arrow through its heart.

"He's... heading toward a strange dome in the north. I don't know what he's planning but I'll stop him! You should focus on preventing the demons from invading the village!"

She quickly finished off the last of the demons and cut off the connection. Taking a deep breath, she took a short break to catch her breath and stared at the dome in the distance.

"Dust... what happened to you?"

She clenched her fist and started running toward the sphere.

He watched things come into chaos as the man who absorbed a small piece of El into his chains powered up. It was an interesting thing to view. However, Henir never told him to side up with the Demons. He didn't require the power of the El when all he needed was the power Henir gave unto him. His drones circled around him and his turquoise eyes stared down onto Dust. There was a fierce coldness behind them.

Lara frowned and activated the second effect of her dome, summoning restraint runes that rooted the chain man in place.

"Always using cheap tricks, you live up to the name of your species" She sensed the child head back and used that opportunity to stab the demon viciously where she had hit him before. Having daggers enhanced with dark El diminished the pure El's healing power.

Ash
When Ash heard Rena's shocked tone he knew something was wrong. Looking around there where barely any demons left.
"I should help her just in case..."
He looked at Rain. "Rain, I'll leave this to you once again, Rena might need help I'll be going over there right now." Ash then leaps from atop the Tree of El down to the forest below.
"Stay safe Rena...I'm coming."

Elesis

Ruben... It's been a while since I've been here... She thought as she entered the town.

"Commander Elesis! All our troops have just arrived outside the town! We are awaiting your orders!" A voice came from behind her. Elesis turned around to face Penensio, the Velder Squad Leader under her command. The aging man who was about the same age as her father, Elkashu, was renown for his rune magic.

"Good work, Penensio! Let them get som--" she started but was soon cut off with the loud rumble underneath their feet. "Where did that come from?"

"From over there ma'am."
Penensio pointed towards the enormous tree towering over the tiny village of Ruben.

"Gather up the 20 men. Have the rest be stationed in the village. We're moving out! The reports of demon sighting around this area and this quake isn't a good combination." Elesis ordered and she placed her hand on top of her charcoal colored claymore handle. I hope nothing has happened to the El...

The two made their way to their battalion of 400 men. And they moved towards the direction of the Tree of El.

"Hehehe! Cheap tricks? Live up to the name of my species?" He laughed off as if he isn't feeling the pain, before his snakes covered his feet and destroyed the runes.

"Since when is it a cheap trick to be cursed?" He asked as he elbowed her stomach in a blink of an eye. "Since when where there other hybrids of dark elf and human?"
Three punches before changing places at high speed.

"Don't compare this vessel to others, cursed dark water priestess. He has suffered a great deal for decades, and these runes that you make? Nothing but stagnant mana that I enjoy eating in a daily basis." He said as he five more wild punches.

"If you think, that poison is affecting this body of ours, think again. We already suffer immunity towards it, thanks to the demon realm. Though, I guess at this moment we're evenly matched considering that my blessing is on him and that necklace of yours is your lifeline in this sanity of yours." He then started circling around her, very fast, while delivering punch after punch without stopping.

"What's wrong? Are you surprised that my punches are hurting you? You have to give credit to him, he thought about getting that El shard to give us enough boost to hurt you."

In the distance, two demons opened a small portal and signaled him. Behind him, the sound of multiple footsteps came by fast.

"I don't like these odds. We'll meet again, dark water priestess, don't you worry." With a flick of the wrist, he detached two copies of the serpents, holding her in place and absorbing her mana conserves. As he passed through the portal, away from the danger.

What was left behind, was a piece of violet glass.

Other Rain
"On it! Awaken!"

She can feel the power surge through her. The familiar glow coats her body and embraces her. Her dress opens up, a beautiful lotus flower that hides her thighs. Her hair falls out of her bun and in the center of the carnage, she resembled a beautiful flower that spouted from the water-less desert.

"If only I was something different...oh well. This will have to do."

The demons surrounding her and Xavier were closing in, but she suddenly bows gracefully, making the demons pause.

"Shall we start the show?"

She taps the tip of her left foot against her right four times and then, in a flash, she is spinning around the demons and throwing her petal-shaped daggers at any she can find. One by one, she fell them, maintaining her graceful slide. The water pouring from her feet only helped her to move faster.

It was a ballet on the battlefield, a ballet of mercy.

But there were so many. She feels her mana depleting and her movements slowing down. Her breath starts to grow heavy and her feet accidentally kicked one of the demons, damaging her tempo. Rain stops her dance as she feels the extra energy from her awakening leave her.

She sees that most of her enemies are dead and looks back to Xavier giving her the okay sign. At that moment, she feels the original Rain take her body, and she once again falls into a sleepless slumber.

"You got it!"

Xavier went right ahead to work, running up to the shield men who immediately taken up position at his approach. He focused the flames to travel down and as he jumped up, the flames pushed him further out so he is able to go over the guards. The skill, Flame Heels, does help him jump a little bit higher and does chip damage to those who in the way of the flames. The time he got behind them, he went ahead to position his hands, forming a triangle with his fingers.

"Tri-El!"

The flames erupted out of the triangle hurled right at the backs of the guards, the hot fire burning up the open side of the guards. They howled out in pain and were fallen to the ground as the flames continued to burn. Komodo returned back to Xavier eventually yet he had white scales and his body shape changed to appear long and flexible. Xavier smiled at the returning dragon and eventually had a plan as more demons started to charge at them.

"Turbo!"

Xavier lifted an arm at the incoming enemies, and allowed Komodo to wrap himself around the arm. With the new weight, Xavier had to adjust himself properly and smirked once he got himself fixed.

"Released!"

At that cue, the glove light up Komodo on fire. It didn't damage him, more like a combined attribute of fire and wind. By spreading out his wings, he went off at the demons at a fast beat. The demons yelled in surprise at the fast attack though they didn't last much a second as Komodo jumped and flied around them, leaving burns and piercing right through their armor with jaws and claws. It was a fast attack that dealt multiple of damage and Xavier quickly finished it off with another Tri-El of fire. So far, he finished up on his side.

It wasn't long that he noticed there wasn't as much demons left standing now, thanks to the others. He felt the energy of his gloves dying out and Komodo swiftly returned back to him, standing by him as he gave off quick pants from his work.

"You were slower than usual, Komo," Xavier commented. Komo shrugged, unsure about his own speed. In which caused Xavier to think back what Rain did to them. "Hm..." He glanced over at the girl and gave an okay sign with his hand, simply feeling drained but it won't be long to regenerate.

He stored the El in a separate dimension, watching Dust leave through a dark portal. He was no one's ally and no one's enemy for now. With boredom surging through his emotions, he created an imitation of the dark portal and stepped on through. He wondered if Henir would like to aid the demons in destroying Elrios' balance.

Rain
She hates it when her other self takes over every time she goes into a decisive battle.

As she looks back at Xavier's side of the battle, which involved even more fire than she has seen in a while, the pain in her foot starts to kick in.

"Oh no...I think I need to add less kicks in my dances..."

Waving her hand over her injured foot, she starts to sing a children's song: the one that her family back in Feita sang to their son many, many times. She can feel the pain evaporated with the water particles, and she quickly picks herself up.

"You have quite a fighting style, Xavier. Your komodo is very powerful."

Noticing that he is just as out of breath as she is, Rain glides her way over to him.

"Are you feeling okay? If you are, let's go catch up with the others. You can do a proper introduction then!"

She flashes him a gentle smile, hoping that she gained his trust, even if just a little.

Xavier sighed softly, gripping onto his staff tightly. Already he can feel his energy starting to build up as the black and white feathers attached to the staff gave off a gentle glow. He stared at Rain for a couple of seconds as Komodo's attribute effects started to wear off. The time he got back to his original color and size, Komodo went right up on Xavier to rest himself on his shoulders.

Normally, Xavier would take his leave after helping out a couple of strangers. Though Rain was rather nice to him, making him rethink about his options. He gave her a half-hearted smile, shifting the staff between his hands.

"Yeah, Im feeling fine," Xavier responded. "Well...lead the way, Rain." He nodded his head at her, having some sort of trust for her now. Komodo didn't made any objections or probably is too tired to do so.

Darkness surrounded her once again. Luckily, she was able to transfer her soul into the piece of Dark El the opening of the portal had created. She had been extremely careless, but the bloodlust provoked by her curse didn't allow her to think rationally most of the time.

In this spiritual form, she was able to communicate with the dormant spirit that once was the guardian of the Water El. The first priestess, Glewin, had been guiding her as long as the corruption levels of the sacred jewel had been kept in place. It had proven to be impossible to keep her around for long, considering that every time Lara had travelled, she had tried to purify the area by absorbing more miasma in her daggers and body.

"What were you thinking, Lara?" Her voice only reflected her disappointment, for she had warned Lara multiple times about fighting stronger enemies than her.

"I wasn't thinking clearly. The El took the better of my emotions and you know well what happens when it does. That man got unscathed because he had that shard with him and I was already weak. My body couldn't take any more miasma to liberate more power without... repeating what happened back there."

"And? You're can't go testing your luck again like that. You'll accept your fate now, like you promised. Your mere existence disturbs the balance, no matter how you put it."

Lara looked through the Shard's surface and saw that the rotting corpse of the giant demon she had killed was still there. It was her chance, a risky one, but one that would allow her to continue her mission. Sasha counted on her. No, she wasn't doing this for her. She was doing it for Resiam. Her mistakes would all be erased if the balance was restored.

"Lara, this plan of yours is very noble, but you know you can't keep that rhythm for long. Demon souls can take over you if you're not careful"

Lara knew this, but she had been able once to escape the demon's curse momentarily, she could tame other demon's souls if she put all her power into it.

The soul transfer had begun.

The purple glass began to shine and floated over what was left of Berthe. It began to absorb his soul before fusing itself where his heart would be. Berthe's corpse began to mutate, his guts twisted around and his usually blue skin began to take the colour of the shard that was controlling the gruesome transformation. After several hours, there was a lilac cocoon laying on the grass, the shadow of a woman was visible at the centre of it. Suddenly, a demon horn grew out from her head.

Inside, Lara's mind was battling Berthe's soul. In this form, without Glewin's support, she was getting beaten by the maddened spirit.

"What's wrong? Can't take me down like before?" the beast growled.

Lara was panting, feeling dizzy, almost certain of her imminent defeat. That was unacceptable now; she had to find a way. Desperately, Lara imagined the shape of her weapons, forming in her hands energy blades with their shape, and used the energy of the crystal to transform briefly in her cursed state. One hit, it was all she had.

Her daggers grew in size as she crystallized her energy on top of the blades. She joined them and formed a gigantic blade she swung at the beast, cutting it in half. Her ethereal daggers shattered as soon as they hit the ground and a blue fireball replaced them. It was the demon essence. She had to absorb it to gain complete control over its body.

The sun was setting, the forest was coming down to its usual calm, as the cocoon began to shatter. An arm broke a hole from the inside out and then the other followed. They tore apart the barrier that held them prisoners and the figure of a naked woman with long indigo hair, spangled by locks of hair with a lighter shade of blue and one single horn growing out of her head. She drew invisibility runes over her body and began to travel back to the El Tree.

Rain
When Xavier gave her permission to lead him around, she instantly flushes, unsure of where to go next.

"Let me contact Ash then," Rain tries to calmly say.

She tries the spell that she saw Ash used, copying the chant that she heard.

"Create Party Link: Ash."

"Ash, have you caught up with Rena? My friend and I have finished up here. Should we come back you up or head back to Ruben?"

As if she just realized that she had dragged a complete stranger into an extremely dangerous battle, Rain flushes again and curtsies to Xavier.

"Thank you for helping me. Here, as repayment for battling those demons with me."

She waves her hands together, and a small water orb manifests. A few short seconds later, a water bottle replaces the orb. Rain hands it over to Xavier.

"Please give me a moment," she says as she waits for Ash's reply.

Ash
Ash was walking through the forest. He could hear the footsteps of. Demon troops surrounding him. He guessed that he must be pretty darn close to Rena if demons started appearing. While preparing for the incoming demons Ash recieved a party link. "This is Ash, I haven't found Rena yet but I assume I'm pretty close considering the demons are getting aggressive."

Elesis

The platoon of Velder soldiers gathered at the foot of the tree. Elesis raised a hand to stop the march, just as a volley of arrows fell from above. Most of them were headed towards the top of the Tree of El but a few were in projection to land on her troops.

"Fire Wall!" Elesis said as she flicked a small kindle of fire in front of her. The mana infused ember expanded into a spinning wall of fire. The arrows disintegrated instantly on contact with the flames.

"Penensio, lead the men to the top. I'm going ahead!" She cried as she pulled out her claymore. The weapon seemed to heat up the air around it, with its beautiful pyre designs glowed like living flames. Elesis crouched down before dashing off up the trunk of the tree. Despite wearing heeled boots, she gracefully strides up against the rough bark.

"You heard her boys. Let's get to it."
Penensio grunted. How many times is that hot headed girl gonna keep troubling an old man like myself.

When Elesis arrived at the top, she saw the dragon boy standing beside a a girl with light blue hair wearing a... tutu? They seemed to be enjoying a bottle of fresh water together while demons corpses scattered around them. Some of the bodies were scorched but others were barely touched at all except for a clean cut to a vital spot.

I'm guessing they're the ones who killed all these demons... But I can't let my guard down. She thought as she readied her claymore. Elesis took a deep breathe and dashed behind the girl. She grabbed onto the ballerina girl's shoulder and pressed her blade against the dancers neck. Elesis stared intensely at the dragon boy, who was frozen due to the unexpected company.

"Neither of you better move... or her head's gonna roll."

He's gone...

Even before Rena reached the dome, she was aware that Dust's presence had long since vanished. In fact, the dome itself had vanished quite a long time ago. That was a clear sign that whatever battle that had been happening there was already over. She brushed aside some dangling branches and stepped onto the scene of the battlefield.

Patches of scorched grass dotted the open area. It was a site of perfect destruction. Nearby, the remains of some sort of large demon laid around near pieces of a silky-looking material. She could sense where a portal had opened from the lingering energy that remained in the air. She felt that she should be either crying or gagging in horror of the devastating scene.

But she just stood there with a blank face. Or at least she thought she was showing an emotionless face. Unbeknownst to herself, Rena had on a delighted expression. She moved unconsciously toward the spot with strong dark energy, strangely drawn to it. She reached out her hand and the dark energy began to circle around her.

"Oo..thanks," Xavier said as he held the water bottle in his hands. He eyed at it curiously before putting it away. In truth, he was hoping to get something in return for helping her out and he wasn't disappointed. "Well, this really is a mess...are your friends alright?" He asked after a couple of minutes of silence and waiting around.

Of course, it was cut short when out of nowhere a girl dashed right at them, having Rain at a dangerous kill point in which Xavier froze. Komodo hissed sharply at the sudden intruder but he didn't move from his spot as Xavier stood still. Xavier stared at the claymore curiously before staring at the red hair girl.

"Well, aren't you a fierce one," Xavier commented at Elesis though he didn't dare to make a move yet. He only tried to hush Komodo down, silently pleading the dragon to stop. In which he did. "Just letting you know, we're not the bad guys here..."

Ash
Heading deeper into the forest after eliminating the demons lurking around Ash saw Rena standing by herself as she reached a hand to the darkness before her. Ash couldn't help but raise his voice. "Rena! What is it you are trying to do?" Ash said as he raised his ax, knowing how living beings can easily be tempted by the dark energy during times of war. "Don't give in to the temptation. It will only eat away at your soul leaving you as an empty shell seeking a battle."

Rena turned toward the voice. Her yellow eyes were slowly becoming dark purple. She felt like she should know who the man standing in front of her is but the dark energy flooded into her mind, clouding her thoughts.

"Ash..."

With a jolt, she broke free of the invisible grasp and fell to her knees. She took multiple quick breaths, clutching at her pounding chest. Her eyes were back to their normal color.

"I... what was I about to do?"

Rena knew clearly what she had almost done. She was a forest elf, an existence that survived off of pure El energy. Yet in a time of confusion, she had almost offered herself to the darkness. A seed of fear began to bloom in her heart.

Ash
Ash walked over to Rena placing a hand on her back as he circulated the darkness within her, "I'm no expert but as one related to war I at least can lighten the load on your mind." With his current body Ash didn't have enough training to absorb the darkness like he used to. All he can do is keep it at bay for only a short while. "This will calm it down but you must learn to control your feelings in battle or else the darkness could try and absorb your pure el again." Ash said with a smile as his armor vanished with the wind.
