Fantasy [Private] El Stories

He lit up like a Christmas tree when Lara joined right in to his silly singing. Komodo rolled his eyes and went ahead to gnaw at the bones that were left on the plate of his.

“Just keep on filling the cups to the very rim~ and be sure to have a companion~ so the happiness can spread~!” Xavier was probably getting too into it, he nearly smashed the cup he held in which the bartender was nervous for the condition of the glasses. It bothered him how Xavier doesn’t seem to worried on what he was doing, the boy had a happy smile on his face. “Have a cup of rum with your dad~ have a cup of wine with your mom~ but hell if you want to get all knocked up, have tequila with a friend!”

“I probably should have restrictions on the drinks, pong...” the bartender quietly mumbled as the two were singing out. He hopes he won’t have to be the one to drag them out of the pub once they’re knocked out cold in the end.

Lara continued to tap the rhythm and smiled at the mention of the tequila.

"You know, kid? That's true. I shared strong always drinks with friends. Always. You're a good friend. You my baast friend. Reijak can go screw himself, Lento can go screw himself, Idrak is gooone. But younhere. You my baast friend."

Her head was spinning already as she got up and extended her hand towards Xavier and said solemnly: "You dance? Let's dance!"

Late Late

“Baast friend?” Xavier questioned as he blinks a couple of times.

It struck him odd. He doesn’t recall having a best friend. The dragons close to him were just like family, the people he partnered up with were like allies, but best friend? He was too drunk to even think about it, his mood was going to be hard to ruin up to this point. Xavier gave a nervous smile at the thought of dancing.

“Hell, I don’t know how to dance! I’ll probably fall over again once I’m off this chair and kiss the floor like there’s no tomorrow!” he laughed. “I’ll try though! I’m no quitter and I got a damn hat on. A man should know how to dance!”

Xavier paused for a moment to poke Lara’s hand with a “boop” before starting to get up from his seat. Like he said before, he nearly tumbled down but he was quick to find his footing and stand up straight like a stiff tree. Eventually Xavier relaxed right away when he was certain he won’t fall over again. His smile never seem to weaken.

“I won’t dance until you dance,” Xavier said to her, pointing at her feet. “Start moving!”

MementoDei MementoDei

Lara laughed at the dragon tamer, she found it amusing the way he poked her hand and looked at her feet as if he expected them to move by his sole words. "Oh~ Aaalllright! Don't worry 'bout fallin' down. I'll carry ya mysef if you stumble down. I'm plenty strong! Witness, my friend, a master dancer!"

She had a feeling that she wouldn't be able to move a lot in her condition, but she wasn't an excellent dancer even when she was sober. Lara put her arms as if she was holding a person and stepped slightly to the left. How did it go again? She took a step to the right and began to move around, slightly from side to side and ended her steps with a slow spin. She almost fell over a table at the end of her pirouette, but was able to find her balance in time. Lara went back to Xavier and took his hand and passed her free arm over his upper arm.

" I...think that's how it goes." She whispered before sighing and putting on a serious face and telling him the steps to follow as if she was inspiring a soldier to go to war.

"My friend, listen. Put your arm on my back. To hold yaself. We'll step to the left, then to the right. Then, to the other right, then to the south. Sounds good?"

Late Late

“Sounds good!” Xavier was determined to get this dancing done. He put his faith into Lara on making sure he won’t fall over. It almost felt like the earth is spinning fast for him to follow.

He did what Lara instructed him, having his arm on her back. Xavier couldn’t help but to tense up slightly, knowing how he doesn’t do so well with person to person physical interaction. If it weren’t for the drinks, he probably would back away. Xavier stared down to check their footing, still unsure about dancing but he was very willing to do it. He wasn’t sure when to really start, almost taking a step to the right but immediately changed his direction to the left. The dance started off clumsy surely because of his mistake but he got the picture, understanding how it goes.

“Ey, which way is south???” Xavier asked in confusion, almost ready to lose his footing. “Or are we already going south? Tis hard to tell, fren.”

Ash
Ash stepped into the house where Ciel was resting, "You decided to use this one?" Ash said, looking at how high class the inside looked.

Lu shrugged her shoulders,
"Not my fault the owners left it like this and it's suitable for a noble like myself." She said, Ash rolled his eyes.

He looked back at Cai Er and waved her to head upstairs to help Ciel.

Ash and Lu took seats near the fireplace, it had been a while since Ash sat on something soft. Lu looked at him with much intensity,
"What is it? Is there something on me?" Ash asked. Lu shook her head. "No, that's not it, the problem is what is your problem." She said, standing up making her way to the bar, Ash looked at her with a puzzled expression. "What's that supposed to mean?" He said.

Lu pulled out a bottle and two cups,
"When I first met you, you seemed motivated, dedicated. Unbreakable. But now all I see is a man trying to find his death out on the battlefield. I've only seen that expression on young boys who lost everything and joined this war." Lu placed a cup in front of Ash, she poured some red wine into the cup.

Ash looked down at the red liquid. He held onto the cup, his reflection in the wine.
"I've always been fighting for as long as I can remember...I just want to rest. People when they hear 'God of War' they assume all I do is fight. They seem to forget I'm human, sure I want to stop this war but my heart can't take losing so many villagers or my own men to this war. I've fought in many battles, I just want to end all of this and maybe then I can rest." Ash said, taking a gulp from his cup. Lu looked at him, she couldn't believe such a strong individual was saying he was done with it all.

"Ash. I can see where your coming from, you've fought countless battles, killed so many, even I at that point would want to just retire to the edges of the demon world, but I can't. You know why?"
Lu asked standing up.

Ash looked up at her,
"Why?" He asked.

"Because, if I keep on fighting, that's one less person who has to die in my steed when I know I have the power to change the tide of battle. You are the God of War, you can rival armies, because of you thousands of young men don't have to see there villages burned down or there loved ones killed." Lu leaned in front of Ash.

"I know, your just a human...with an immortal life, but because you chose to fight with your power, regular rookies don't die for nothing. Even I'm thankful that you helped me when we first met. That would've been the end of Ciel and I hadn't you showed up." Lu said with a small grin.

Ash looked up at her astonished.

"She's right, Ash...if you didn't appear when you did in Feita, those villagers and myself would have died...those soldiers also survived thanks to your sacrifices." Cai Er said.

Ash at that moment felt an old memory come up.

Earth: 469 AD

"I don't know the meaning of life, but I know what's truly precious~" Ash was laying down on someones lap as her beautiful voice rang through the sky.

"This life is not for comparing things, so I hold both the light and the shadows..." Suddenly the singing came to an end as the woman smiled down at Ash.

"What do you think?" She asked, Ash frowned as he thought on it. "It sounds lovely darling." Ash sat up with a smile, the woman reached for his hand, "I'm glad your home again..." she said, lifting Ash's hand to her cheek.

Ash caressed her cheek with a smile.
"Mhm...and I'll be here from now on, Violet..." Ash said.

Violet smiled back nodding her head. Later that night, Ash was returning from the farm.

"I wonder if these will make her happy." Ash thought, looking down at the flowers in his hands. When he reached over the horizon Ash saw the fire all through the village, the sounds of horses rang in his ears as the red flag waved in the night. Ash knew this as the Romans.

Running through the fire Ash was trying to get home back to Violet.
"Violet! Violet!" Ash shouted as he kicked the door open, he found a corpse of a soldier on the ground. Taking his sword Ash kept looking through the rooms. Soon Ash found violet hiding behind a flipped over table, "Violet! Oh thank god your okay." Ash walked over to help her get up, when he went around the table, his face went stiff, blood was stained on her dress.

She looked at him with a slight smile,
"Don't worry it..was his blood." She said, holding onto the table, Ash noticed the dripping of blood from her hand. "N-no that's not right, come on let me see-" Ash reached for her but before he could grab her hand, she slapped it away.

"I'm fine!..Don't worry about me...help the rest of the village, there's more of them out there.." Violet said.

Ash was stunned, he pulled his hand back biting his bottom lip, his grip on the swords handle tightening.
"Fine..but hide back in that spot!I'll be right back, so don't you move!" Ash said, Violet nodded her head.

With that Ash ran out into the village, he saw a roman soldier strike down a villager, he ran up to him and cut him down, saving the others.

"Pólmos...."
Ash whispered as his armor equipped itself. He ran all through the village, killing the soldiers, saving villagers stuck in the fire, When only a few remained the one's on horses ordered a retreat. The villagers cheered, thanking Ash but he didn't stay to celebrate, he ran back to his house when he arrived, Violet was leani g against the wall, she faintly looked up at him.

"Violet!" Ash yelled his armor vanishing, he ran up next to Violet holding her close.

"Ash...I knew there was something dpecial about you..." she said faintly with a smile. Ash shook his head, "Shh..save your breath, I need to bandage the wound." Ash tore his shirt, but before he could apply it Violet pushed his hand away. "No..I think..it's a little to late...for that. Is everyone okay?..." she asked. Ash looked at her with wide eyes, he felt his eyes tear up. "Y-yes...everyone is okay..." Ash said. Violet smiled. "That's good...Hey Ash...can you do..two things for me?" Violet said, Ash nodded his head.

"Sure baby...a-anything you need." Ash sobbed.

Violet looked over at the door.
"Please..use that power, save...as many people as you can...from this war, so they don't suffer..this." Violet said pointing at the house across from Ash's, a boy looked at the burning with tears running down his eyes. Ash looked at the boy for a while then back at Violet.

"I-I promise..." he said as he stroked Violets hair.

"N-now...can you sing...our song for me...one last time..." She said, Ash looked down at her with wide eyes, he nodded his head, clearing his voice the best he could.

"The rings of stars...will bring me..to you...through the dark night skies...see the way shined...

I don't know what's right for our lives..but I know the truth of my love...the way it feels our breaths in the wind...the way I should go on in my life..I swear to go wherever we'll be, these memories I wouldn't have, will always be in my heart..."

Ash felt Violets hand drop, he gasped quickly looking down, as a tear rolled down her eye, Ash shook her a little.

"V-violet?...Violet?..." Ash knew, but he couldn't accept it. Immediately he broke down into loud sobs, as he held the corpse of his beloved tightly against his own.

Later that day Ash buried Violet under the tree beside his corn fields. Placing down the flowers he had gotten her but was never able to give her, he cried by her grave for hours. When the sun rose once again, Ash lived up to his promise, he made to keep those who can't fight safe.

Present

Ash felt a single tear roll down eye,
"Your right..." Ash said, standing up. "I promised to fight, so that everyone could survive, and live a peaceful life." Ash, looked at Luna then Cai Er, "Thank you..both of you." Ash said, Cai Er nodded her head and Lu gave a cocky grin.

"Is Ciel doing better?" He asked, Cai Er nodded her head again.

"Yosh..Cai Er lets go. We're returning to the Adventures guild." Ash said, "Back to helping those in need huh." She said, Ash nodded his head. "Fighting in the front lines will happen no matter what but with the guild, getting request from anywhere is now easier to find." Ash said.

"Heeh, well good luck to you Ash, I'll see you out there soon enough." Lu said, Ash shook his head, as he stepped off with Cai Er.

"I have the power to protect...I can't save them all but I won't give up. Violet...I'll keep my promise for as long as I have the ability to..."

Lara sensed that Xavier was tense, but the alcohol and the dance made him loosen up more. She giggled at his question and answered that she forgot.

"Da south shall be...To our OTHER right!"

She took a certain lead of the dance and they danced somewhat awkwardly, Lara stopped and closed her eyes before letting out a chuckle.
"It's been a while since I've danced so happily, fren. You really are da best fren I had... Unfortunately, I feel not too well to continue dancin'. "

She sat down and just as she glanced at the barman, he locked down the remaining two bottles of alcohol and glared at her.

"The bar is closed for the night, dear customers, PONG!"

Lara widened her eyes and looked at Xavier and at the barman in confusion.

Athena
It was difficult at first but with her two attached wings, she was able to fly properly but was slower than usual. Maybe it was probably because of her own size as she was meant to be a wall, a shield to protect others. She failed at doing so from the previous battle. Athena grumbled low to herself as she flew through clouds, the moon was rising up to the sky. It won't be too long to reach to the desert. She did her best to remain undetected, the sunlight from before helped to temporary blind curious eyes who tried to see her in the sky. Yet now that the sun was gone, she was vulnerable in the night sky. Though who would have the guts to challenge a dragon alone? Perhaps some with enough strength to match a god, that is how they were broken out of the arrangement. It still bothers her.

Eventually, Athena reached to the desert, staring down at the vast land of sand. It was quiet, but it doesn't mind she was being watched. Already she can tell there were eyes on her from down below. She went ahead to land on the ground, her wings blowing back the sand that was in front of her. The touch of the sand felt familiar to her, almost back to her original home of the dragons. Yet she wasn't here to receive nostalgic memories. Athena looked around the area, staring a stone wall in particular. It wasn't a bad hiding spot for something to spy.

"Come on out, I know you saw me approaching here. I do not come to bring harm to your kind," Athena called out to them, taking a step forward. "Mind my appearances, please." Other species were quick to judge her because of her fearsome look. It doesn't bother her too much, but it felt nice when her family sees her more than a deadly warrior.

After a couple of seconds ticked by, the spies slowly emerged behind the stone wall. Two lizardmen in different size and color. They almost look well prepared for a fight too, it nearly made Athena smile.

"Greetings, warriors of the Bone Dragon tribe. I apologize for stepping into your borders, but I wish to speak to your leader," Athena greeted them.

Both of the lizardmen glanced at each other before looking back at the dragon. One of them stepped forward to speak, "We no longer call ourselves the Bone Dragon tribe, as the ancient bones of the dragon were destroyed by a group of travelers. Our tribe's name is changed to Red Rocks tribe."

"Why you want to speak to our chief? We have tightened up our borders ever since our previous one died due to a banished warrior's lust for power. How can we trust you, dragon?" The other warrior snapped, glaring at its partner for getting close to Athena.

"I have some information to share, your leader would definitely want to hear them as they are very important. They might save your tribe as well in the end. I'll leave if you want me to, just know it'll be your fault when war overruns your homeland," Athena said to the two, narrowing her eyes at them.

The warriors looked back at each other as if they were very hesitant to bring a dragon to the heart of their tribe. Yet there was an ominous feel to what she said to them. Eventually, they reluctantly beckoned Athena to follow them. One of them took out a whistle and played out a couple of notes, and within seconds, other lizardmen crawled out from their own hiding spot in the sand. A few of them have an awed look at Athena as others had their guards up. They followed Athena to their camp, keeping at a safe distance from the dragon. Athena wasn't too worried to be attacked by them.

Xavier
Xavier had a bizarre look on his face to hear that the bar was now closing. Komodo was even letting out chortles now that their fun was over. "Nooo way, I was paying you," Xavier said, shocked at the turn of events.

"That is true, pong, but you two nearly finished all I have left, pong! I'll be out of stock, pong!" The bartender said to them, obviously upset yet Xavier doesn't seem to care.

"Wait! What I have to do to get more????" Xavier demanded, wanting at least one more drink but the ponggo refuses to hear a word from him and left to the back of the pub. Xavier fell to his knees and the hat on his head fell over, defeated and disappointed that he won't get any more drinks. He was having so much fun too. "Well fren, that's it. That's the end of the day." He struggled out those words. "Back to silly, slap fighting, bitchy nonsense in the next day, and I have to wait for awhile to get myself those drinks..." Xavier was suddenly really sad. He even went ahead to lay on the floor and stare up at the ceiling with a sad look. Komodo leaned over to his view but the pet's face couldn't even brighten up his mood. "Tis the end."

Lara watched almost with tears in her eyes and offered him to accompany him until the inn.

"You look like an outsida, dia fren, let me accompany you 'til the inn. I'm stayin' there too."

She took him by the arm and they walked side by side, prancing about the streets, laughing at nothing and talking about anything their cloudy minds could still grasp. Once in the inn's main hall, Rena watched with widened eyes Tureen and Xavier walking happily side-by-side, holding each other from falling down.

"Oh my El, alcohol does wonders sometimes..."
"Ah~ Rena! Wassup? Why you watchin' us like that? He ma fren. Ma best fren."
" I was not looking at you weirdly, Tureen! I'm very happy you made such good friends!"
"Although I wonder how you two ended up drinking together...and for how long... He's still a minor. Should I tell Rain about this?"

Lara chuckled and sat in front of the elf, stumbling in her way before falling heavily on the couch in front of Rena. She stared at her then went back to Xavier's side and gave him a big hug as she thanked him for taking her to dance.

"Is this...really Tureen?"
The priestess went back to the couch and stated in all seriousness. "Rena, listen well." the elf was impressed by her sudden change of attitude and thought for a second that her old ally was only pretending to be drunk. "The barman got angry at me! He closed his bar in front of ma face! In front of ma fren's face! Can you imagine? I'm a knight under the Red Knights DIRECT order and he chust ordered me around like that!"

"...That must've been very upsetting, Tureen."
" 'Course it was! That sonuvabich will hear the-"
Rena's anger began to rise and the spirits around her built an aura that left Lara's sentence reduced to silence. The priestess bowed and asked for forgiveness, but it was too late. Rena's anger had awoken.

"Tureen... listen to me. Xavier, your friend, He's a minor and you shouldn't have taken him to a bar. No matter how good friends you are. Now, you'll go calmly to your room, you'll relax and you'll get a good night's sleep. Understood?"
"Y-Yes ma'am."
Lara went up the stairs, watching her back from the forest elf and, once in her room, fell on her bed and fell asleep almost instantly.

Ash

Ash walked in to the Adventurers guild in Velder,

"Oh! Mister Ash, It's been far too long!" The receptionist said. What she said was true, Ash has been gone for a while. "Heyy, listen I'm here to see if any jobs are available right now." Ash said, the receptionist looked through some paperd before pulling one out, "Resident Area 3, needs volunteers evacuating citizens ASAP, this came in 3 hours ago." She said.

Ash looked at Cai Er,
"Let's go. We've got a City to evacuate."

Xavier watched Lara leaving up to her room and he sighed loudly at Rena. “Such a mom,” Xavier grumbled at the elf.

He stand there idly, swaying back and forth, unsure where to sleep. Though since there was a couch in the room, the empty one, he simply helped himself. Xavier hopped right on the couch, Komodo walking over to climb on the boy so he can rest with him. Xavier didn’t say another word to Rena, remembering some of their previous conversation. He simply shifted around to be comfortable, holding Komodo close to him and started to fall straight to sleep.

Rain didn't stir until the next day. Add, after smacking his brother across the face (and sending him crashing to the floor, essentially giving him a mild concussion), lifts the woman to lay her on the bed. She was surprisingly light in his arms, which is unusual given her heavy-looking dress, and ice cold. He can't feel the warmth of her skin underneath his fingertips.

"Is she dead...? Oh god, please no."

He glides his hand over to her neck, scanning for a sign that she's alive. Nothing. There was no pulse.

"What the...? She's...dead..."

"Add, we're back-! Wait, what happened here?!"

"Honestly, what was Tureen thinking?! Letting a minor like Xavier drink! ...Rain! Oblivio!"

The two of them dashes over, with Raven hoisting Oblivio up and Rena, in a rather bad mood, demanding to know the situation. "We were trying to deal with the crystal that Oblivio has, and Rain absorbed a bit too much Void energy. Oblivio then tried to reabsorb it, but it didn't go so well. I-I think Rain's dead."

Rena bit on her lips. What can she tell them? To think this happened while she was out...

"N-No, it can't be..."

"Calm down, both of you," the elf snaps. "Lay Rain down on the bed and give her some rest. She'll be up soon."

"Didn't you just hear me?! She's dead!"

"I know she's dead! Now lay her down and go to bed. All of you!"

Her command was backed with a stern frown. Add couldn't believe what he's hearing. "Tch, fine! Let her rot for all I care. I'm done." He drops her unceremoniously onto the bed and heads out the room, shoving his hands into his pockets. The elf groans and drops next to the bed, silently muttering an apology.

"Rena, why are you apologizing?"

"It's none of your business, Raven. I think I'm going to head off too. Today's been a rough day."

Raven can only watch as Rena gives one last regretful glance at the sleeping girl. He goes over to Rain, after dropping Oblivio onto the other bed, and checks for a heartbeat.
"She's so cold...and there's really no sign of life. What the hell happened?"

After the trio separated, Phantom made his way back to outskirts of town where the dragons are. The priest couldn't remember the last time he slept in an inn, but being outside was always something he did all his life. No money spent on a room in an inn meant that there was more money towards buying food or supplies.

He found the dragons already asleep and Phantom took off his cloak to expose his sleeveless shirt to the night. A cold breeze caressed him, making the priest shiver but it wasn't too bad if he were to sleep near amongst the dragons, their large bodies shielding him from the cold. Folding his cloak into a pillow, Phantom stuck his staff in the ground by his head, laid on the ground, and quickly fell asleep.

He dreamt of being in a forest clearing, the dense trees on his left full or life with vibrant green leaves and bark decorated with moss and vines. The trees to his right were bare with rotting, black bark. No underbrush was present, just dry soil dusts the ground beneath the dead trees.
Splitting this clearing in half is a large rock, and sitting atop it with her back to Phantom was Xiopetec.

Her aura was glowing a bright fuscheia and Phantom watched as her hair slithered of its own accord in serpentine movements. The goddess looked over her shoulder, her florescent yellow eye resting up her beloved priest and she stood. Her black dress flowing with her movements as she made her way to Phantom and embraced him.

"My child!" She giggled and kissed Phantom above his left eyebrow, where her mark upon his face begins.

"Hello Xiopetec..." Phantom chuckled in greeting, accepting the embrace. "You wanted to speak with me?"

"Ah...yes." She pulled away and cupped Phantom's face in her hands. "About your allies....I have tolerated Xavier, and I'm glad you've made him a friend? I don't know what your status with him is beyond being an ally, but those others...I don't like them."

"What do you want me to do? I won't abandon them. The war is escalating! They need a healer and I need comrades to fight with!" Phantom took his goddess's wrists and moved her hands away from his face. "And when I needed you to keep me calm, you went quiet."

"Are you accusing me of abandoning you?"

"No. I'm asking why you were so quiet. You've never been like that before, Xiopetec, and I'm-" The priest's eyes softened, "I'm worried about you."

Xiopetec expression slackened, her mouth opening a bit in surprise before she gave a small smile. "You're the most loyal priest I've had in a long time. I am fine my wonderful child...I was just...preoccupied with some thoughts."

Phantom tilted his head. "Like what?"

"Ishmael and Henir are becoming bold, and their meddling is frankly getting on my nerves. Always had. But sadly, I can only do so much. My power relies on how many followers I have, and you're the only one in many, many years. I worry about you. Your part in this war, what it will do to you."

"Are you referring to my episode of sickness earlier?"

Xiopetec nodded and she stepped away from her priest and she looked to the dead trees. "A...side-effect of worshipping me. Henir's energy is chaotic and it corrupts, and even with me trying to shield you as much as possible from it, you still suffered. I want to help change that." Her forked tongue tasted the air as she tilted her head side to side to the tune of the debating thoughts in her head.

"How?" Phantom asked, raising an eyebrow. He glanced over his goddess, watching her fidget with her hands as he once did.

"Will you do anything for me, Phantom?" Xiopetec asked.

He blinked. Xiopetec rarely called him by name. "Of course," He answered without any hesitation.

"Truly anything?"

"Yes!"

"Even if I ask you to let more take more of a presence in your body?"

Phantom took a half a step back. "What do you mean by that?"

"I want you to let me in. Let me take more of a presence in your body, beyond me just screaming in your head. I can help you Phantom. I can protect you better with my power, make your magic stronger! All I can do with our current arrangement is only advise you, and my magic didn't prevent your sickness-"

"I'll do it."

Xiopetec's head snapped to look in Phantom's direction. "What?"

"I accept your proposal Xiopetec. I trust your judgement, it's why I follow you. Your judgement is absolute, and has never failed your previous followers before they were murdered as heretics. You know this will help, and I want your help."

Xiopetec gave a crooked smile, showing her fangs and her forked tongue tasted the air again. "You never cease to amaze me, my child." She moved closer to Phantom and ran her fingers along his jawline, her other hand pulling him close to her body. "Thank you, Phantom." She kissed his mark again and then moved to his neck.

Phantom shivered as her forked tongue flicked over the skin there and he clenched his eyes shut, and he bit his tongue when he felt his goddess's fangs pierce his neck.

Lara woke up and felt stiff, horribly stiff. Her head felt like it was being hammered down and, for a moment, she didn't know where she was. She turned her head around and knew why she was feeling so stiff: she had forgotten to take her armour off before going to sleep. The priestess took a deep breath and began to take her armour off. She frowned at her arms. Where did she leave her shoulder plates and the armour that covered her arms? She held her head tried to remember what she did the night before but the only vague memories was those from a dance with a red-haired man. She scoffed at the memory, got up and took a hot shower to clear her mind.

Once out of the bathroom, she shivered with cold as she put her clothes back on. Her hair was still damp and she used some of her magic to dry it properly. Once ready, she took a look through her window and spaced out as she remembered why she had drowned in alcohol in the first place. She clenched her fists, he might be under Ishmael's control, but there was still hope. He could awaken and become free once more and that was enough to bring a little hope to her mind.

She left her room and slowly walked down the main hall to see a red-haired teenager sleep soundly on a couch.

"... there must be lots of red-haired men travelling around here. That must be it."

Lara wondered through the halls and sat down the morning buffet and took a black coffee to wake up. She would need to talk with Agatha, maybe he still had her armour. And if he didn't, that would mean she had also gambled somewhere down the line of glasses she drank with the other red-head. She remembered the dancing, but not how she got back to the inn or what else she might've done or said to the man. She then remembered Rena say something to her about minors. Her eyes widened and she began to murmur a strange mantra:

"As long as he doesn't remember anything more than what I do, I'm ok. As long as he doesn't remember anything more than what I do, I'm ok. As long as he doesn't remember anything more than what I do, I'm ok. As long as he doesn't remember anything more than what I do, I'm ok. As long as he doesn't remember..."

"P-pong? Miss Priestess, is something the matter?"

"H-huh? Nothing is the matter, I'm just still half-asleep. I'll get another cup of coffee."

It took awhile for Xavier to wake up. He wasn’t sure what gave him the strength to open his eyes but when he did, his head started to pound. He grumbled out loudly in annoyance, waking up Komodo on his body and the dragon perked his head up at Xavier.

“Holy El...my head...ugh, where am I?” Xavier growled low, looking around as he noticed he was on a couch.

He seriously doesn’t recognize where he was, and can’t remember how he got here. Xavier tried to rummage through his head for anything that lead him here but all he recall was walking with someone who was probably drunk as well and dancing. Or swaying. He wasn’t sure what was it.

Xavier slowly sat up, having Komodo to jump off of him and inspect himself to see if there was anything missing. For sure he ran out of money, having about enough coins for a small breakfast. He realized his gauntlets were still on him, noting that his hands felt stiff. He went ahead to take off the gloves to stretch out his scarred hands. It was probably best to have them off for the morning.

After a couple of minutes of sitting around with his head still hurting him, he decided that it couldn’t hurt to get something small to eat. Xavier pushed himself off the couch, head spinning once he stand on his legs. Strangely he tried to think back about dancing, trying to remember who he was exactly dancing with. For sure it was girl. Yet thinking about it made him feel somewhat embarrassed.

Maybe Rain is right about him being a ladies man.

Xavier took small steps to ease up his spinning head, Komodo following close in case Xavier needs help. As he walks, he realized he was in an inn. Perhaps whoever he danced or walk with was here. He reached to the buffet area, holding his head and ignoring a strange sting on his right shoulder. Not really his best morning. Xavier went ahead to ask for a glass of water yet he tensed up slightly after seeing Lara with her cup of coffee. His first thought was back to the letter that the healer Rain sent him along with her book. To not trust Lara. Yet he was getting a different vibe from her, almost feeling awkward for being in the same room with her.

As for Komodo, he was letting out growls of amusement, being the key witness from the events of last night.

[Day 1]

"How in demonology did this happen!?" Screamed the head healer of the demon realm, Alexandra the fair maiden, looking at the many wounds of the new commander, being treated by one extra succubus and 2 incubus with their healing magic. Alexandra was a succubus too, but due to a mutation she is designated as a high cleric succubus, high ranked from the soldiers and was once known figure with Luciela R. Sourcream. She was also the first person to go when the scars were too deep.

"I already told you, I fought against a god." He replied back again, with a bead of sweat forming on his forehead.

"And what are the chances of that actually being true and me believing it?" She asked with suspicious eyes.

"...Less than I think they are." He gulped because it was true. Even if they started to inquire the soldiers that were in the battlefield, they'd still respond it truthfully, yet she wouldn't believe me.

"It was that armor, wasn't it? I told them that it was dangerous, but do they listen to me, nooooo~ Listen to the frickin' blacksmith, he has an idea on putting the risks down. And you're the living proof of it!" She pointed to him enraged of the damned protection.

"Hey, easy on the thing. It saved my ass more times in that battle than I'd like to admit. Though, is it normal to shift and evolve onto my body?" He asked a little interested. Before, it was a bulky armor and now it was slimmer and much more agile, the skull helmet sat there patiently waiting for him to wear it again.

"It might be because of the huge amount of dark El is in your body. Honestly, I'm very surprised that the only thing that changed was your eye color. Normally, your body would become much more demonic looking, but here you are with nothing changed. How did you do it even?" She asked curious as she drew dangerously close.

"Personal space." He warned her while putting a hand over her pale face, her violet eyes squinting annoyed. "How did I do it? It's simply, but very hard. I used my will, powering through the pain and corruption and letting what dark el was in my system eat as much as it wanted. To be true to myself, I'm surprised that it didn't want to try and take control. Guess it wants to help more than it wants to conquer. (Or maybe... it's from that time. When I absorbed that corruption that tainted Rena.)"

"There's so much that will can do! You can't simply power through everything, or else everything will come crashing onto you ten times harder, you know." She scowled with a know-it-all stare and wagging her finger.

"Ten times, hundred time or a thousand times. Whatever, I can deal with it. It's not new to me. I've dulled that pain from the moment I had to talk with the soldiers families." He still needed to tell them. How their lives were sacrificed for his forces, how it sank deep, yet he didn't dare look back.

"How awful that must've been, more than 200 demons were killed just to secure a town..." Agatha spoke on his side, saddened of their losses.

"You're the new commander, how did you let that happen!? Weren't they your allies!?" A voice from the other side of the window yelled, before a small gathering started to yell their disapproving grunts at the barracks. Make it soldier or citizen they always complained about the commanders decisions behind their back, but he was new and so they think that he took the high road and did nothing.

"Even though I side with them in that account, they still haven't seen the other side of the picture. How conflicting..." Alexandra commented as he stood up and headed to the door, full of bandages and scares around him. "Hey! Don't go out there! We're still healing you!" She protested while trying to reach and stop him, but as soon as she was outside, he already punched a soldier some blocks away.

"Don't you lot say another word, you useless bastards! I did my best to secure the town as best as I could with the least resistance against the humans, to use numbers to subdue them. A leader must be ready to send a man under his command to their deaths, sacrifice. It is acceptable to spend lives when necessary, what isn't acceptable is to waste said lives. I know this better than any single one of you, while all of you, being a soldier tasked to protect the civilians or the common demon that bitch about us commanders know nothing on how I have to take responsibility for each death under my guise and each life was used to protect others in order for a better world.

Don't think for a single, fucking, second that I don't know exactly how it feels to lose a comrade. We risk our lives to make yours better, we risk our bodies to make sure yours doesn't get scarred, we risk even our spirits to not use yours. All because I do the heavy lifting and ask nothing back in return, unlike the other commanders!

If you have a problem with them, go ask them for their sickly methods, but believe me that you'll die on the spot because to them you're displaying treason on them. I'm new, but even I have a limit to these things too, so tell me, straight at my face again, if my allies lives were wasted in vain!?"
He yelled at them with anger, they cowered at the amount of dark energy he was displaying. They didn't dare to speak and scattered with cold sweat on their bodies.

"You're bleeding again, you know." Alexandra pointed out as the bandages on his back started to be coated in crimson. "My advice, don't waste your breath on them for now. Take the day off and we'll monitor your condition for tomorrow."

He nodded and re-entered the barracks while the five demons worked on making their commanders body heal from their fresh injuries.

Lara glanced at the red-haired boy and then glared at his pet. She didn't understand the language of the dragons and she hoped with all her heart that whatever she had done with Xavier was only limited to that dance.
"Mistakes were made..like those I made with Darhan and Idrak that day. Wait. He's a kid, he IS a kid! I wouldn't have....but what if I did? That dragon better shut its snout about whatever memories alcohol erased from my memory!"

Xavier glanced at her suspiciously and she turned her back to him, assuming that she had made the exact same mistakes all those years back. He was probably feeling awkward and he had the right to be. She tapped her right index rapidly against the table as multiple catastrophic scenarios, mostly involving her going to jail, popped in her mind. Lara turned again to look at Xavier and she was certain that she wasn't imagining him being uncomfortable around her. She had to do something, fast.

Her headache increased and she massaged her temples. All those thoughts weren't good for her. She took a deep breath and said:

"Yeah. No way I would've said that. I'll ask later. Now, I'll relax and take some fruits. That's what I need."

She got up and served herself some fresh fruits and tried to ignore the persistent stare of Xavier. He was a problem she would postpone until later. Maybe when Rena was there she would ask her. No. That'd make things worse. Pessimistic thoughts clouded her mind again and she sat down and chewed the grapes and strawberries in her bowl absent-mindedly, focussing on anything that didn't concern herself or the events of last night. It wasn't a lot, but she was analyzing all events to their very core. If she had wanted to, she could've written a whole book by putting her thoughts into a hundred sheets of paper.

Sadly, she had ran out of ink and white paper.

Ash

Ash and Cai Er where sitting in the back of a carriage that was heading for Area 3. Ash looked at Cai Er, during the time Ash didn't really think about it but, he wondered how did Cai Er survive the assault from Ishmael.

"Cai Er." Ash said, she turned her gaze towards him, "What is it?" She asked.

Ash fiddled with his dagger,
"How did you make it out of that world? From what I saw Ishmaels army was rather strong. Almost everyone was wiped clean." Ash said.

Cai Er seemed to realize that she still hadn't explained how they escaped.
"You see, we where on the brink of complete annihilation, but a woman in white armor appeared from the sky, she had slammed her sword into the ground causing a rift between the church and us. When we asked who she was, she responded with 'A friend from Olympus.' I never heard of that place...Ash are you okay?" Cai Er said, Ash was shocked by the menrion of Olympus, he only knew that Ares was here but that another Olympian would appear

"White armor...Athena?" Ash said to himself, "Yes what is it?" A voice in Ash's head said, he was startled by the sudden response.

Soon the carriage lit up and a woman with white armor appeared inside the carriage, she had blond long hair.
"Even though I was asked not to appear before you, I've taken it upon myself to give you a bit of help, considering the situation you where in of course." Athena said. Ash looked up at her, "She kinda does look like Ares with his helmet off." Ash thought.

"How do you constantly appear out of nowhere?" Cai Er wondered looking around for some sort of magic circle.

Athena shook her head,
"Ash should know this but I appear, thanks to Ash's connection just like Ares did." Athena said, her finger digging into Ash's chest.

"But I was connected to Ares, how come you appear as well?" Ash asked.

Athena took a seat,
"Haa..you see Ares never told you but you are linked to the god of war, Ares isn't the only one, he is the violent side of war while I'm the tactical side of it, don't get all wrong, I'm still as strong or stronger than Ares was." Athena said.

"Wait..but Ares told me the only reason I was chosen was because he-"

"Ah seems you figured it out, indeed I have died, this is why recently you have been hearing my voice, seems that the titans have a liking to you." Athena said, Ash was taken back. "T-the titans? But they shouldn't exist in this world." Ash said.

Athena waved her finger back an forth.
"You are the link thanks to Ares choosing to stay with you even after your rebirth. When I parished, I saw potential in having you hold my power of war. Athena explained. Ash was surprised, he didn't know that the title was split in two. "With me at your side you'll soon reach a new stage of power. Thanks to our bond, Ishmael doesn't have control over you body." Athena said, Ash was confused on why her involvement kept Ishmael away.

"What stops it?" He asked, Athena placed her hand on Ash's chest, "Originally thanks to Ares you where a Demi-god, but now that I'm here you have passed on to a completely different path than becoming a god...your becoming what's in the middle between heaven and Elrios or Earth...your becoming something that I myself have never seen, but because of this Cronos has taken interest in you and Ishmael can't claim you." Athena said backing up from Ash, she turned her head to the opening of the carriage, "It seems this is all the time we have. You've arrived at Area 3." Athena said as her appearance vanished, Ash was in deep thought thinking over everything he had learned, when he looked at Cai Er she seemed like her brain got fried from all this talk she didn't know about.

"Sorry Cai Er.." Ash thought as she shook her a little.

Xavier realized he was staring too long after Komodo nipped his fingers. He finally look away, still unsure what really happened last night. He did end up on the couch and it was very likely that Komodo stayed close to him. No way Komodo would leave Xavier out of his sight unless it was an order from him. He squinted at his pet, Komodo suddenly being the center of attention. It almost look like the small dragon wanted to say something but he shook his head and thrust his head lightly towards the drink, wanting his trainer to feel better with his head.

Xavier sighed, drinking the glass of cold water which was very refreshing for him. He took a piece of bread that was available for anyone around and look back at Komodo again. All the dragon did was pointing towards Lara who seem to be more focused on her bowl of fruits. It took him awhile but Xavier began to understand a bit better. Though he didn’t say anything, only to walk on the otherside of the room to take a seat and chew on his bread.

Surely they were only dancing, he recalled hearing Rena’s upset voice about him being a minor. It has to mean about him drinking. It has to. Yet the more he think about it, the more he got nervous. He chewed on his bread faster as he got a bit more anxious but he can always ask right? Plus Komodo doesn’t seem to be upset at Xavier anyways. Or curious. The small dragon was just amused.

That or he is hiding something else and will tell Octavia about it and thus get an earful of yelling. A dragon’s yell, especially from a female, is something to not laugh about. Xavier decided it was best to leave and check on the dragons.

He went ahead to get up, and grab another roll of bread. Already he received mornings from the ponggos who walked in, earning stares from them, too. What do they know? In the end, Xavier quickly left the inn, carrying at least 20 rolls with him as he got more nervous. He wasted no time to leave the hideout to check on the dragons.

He had been knocked unconscious for a while. Left in the dark void of unconsciousness, he couldn't comprehend anything. Yet when he woke up, he was in the same darkness as before. There was nothing, no one, no time...was he in the Void once more? Was he wandering in the empty nothingness where he spent centuries in?

"7h@7'5 n07 wh3r3 y0u 4r3..."

"???"

He barely caught the voice that had spoken to him. Barely comprehended the words. It was as if the words were made out of numbers and symbols, including alphabets. The voice was becoming more and more incomprehensible, like gibberish almost. His own surroundings were starting to spin, but he could only feel that spinning sensation. Colors started sprouting from tiny points in the fabric of nothingness, whirling and twisting until it filled up the dark. Colors he couldn't comprehend, colors that didn't belong in Elrios, or anywhere, it was beautiful. Beautifully destructive to his comprehensive abilities.

"70u 4r5 40WH3!@...1N H5P3*()-~`"

What are they trying to say...? I can't comprehend, or understand anything here...!

All he knew was that this wasn't a dream. He was probably unconscious somewhere, but this wasn't a dream. He was suffering a brain fog, unable to do or say anything. It was like gravity pulling his mind down, not letting him stand up. This was a method of suffocation in the form of symptoms. There was a strange feeling he could understand, however. It was the only thing holding his consciousness together. The voice speaking to him was an entity that wasn't meant to exist. It was never meant to exist anywhere. With that, the colors disappeared one by one, surrendering him to the ethereal darkness once more. A sleepy sensation overcame him before throwing him to complete alertness. As if he was submerged in water and spat back out into the air.

"..." His eyes flickered open. A light sensation was embedded in him as he woke up.

"Nghh...ughh..."

"My body feels heavy...what happened? Oh yeah...Henir. Well...whatever...I just want to sleep more..."

The singer continues to sleep, the soft fabric of the bed sheet drawing her in. She hadn't remembered the last time she was able to rest like this. Just a pillow, a warm room, and no desperate goals to fulfill. Yes...she could stay here forever and obtain peace. With this happy thought in mind, she snuggles deeper into the bed and lets out a cute, content hum.

Ash

He looked towards the city, "Seems the demons here are more tactical about how they approach certain areas...." Ash soon realized what he was saying. "Why do I know this.." he asked himself.

"Oh that's all on me, now that I'm here as well you'll slowly become less of a muscle brain like Ares, don't worry it'll balance itself out." Athena said, Ash sighed shaking his head. "Ares..where are you when I need you." Ash said.

"I'm still here boy, I told you only in the Astral Plain we can meet..." Ares said, sounding sad. Ash was startled, "Where the fuck have you been?!" Ash yelled, Cai Er got startled, causing her to fall of the carriage.

Ash jumped off to help her get up,
"Sorry about that.." Ash said. Cai Er rubbed the back of her head, "It's fine.."

"Look at what you did, you caused Cai Er to get hurt." Athena said with a sigh, Ares coughed. "Oi...don't blame this on me, Ash forgot I existed." Ares sounded depressed.

"I thought you where gone! It's not my fault you haven't spoken." Ash revolted.

"I told you, we had fused together so I can't just appear unless you want me to! I've lost my physical form all I am is basically a ghost inside your head." Ares said, Athena seemed to see why she was able to get in contact with Ash, "At least I still have a body." Athena said in relief.

Ash held his head, the voices where getting annoying. Cai Er tugged on Ash's sleeve.
"Because of the yelling the demons have shifted focus to us." Cai Er said, her finger pointing to the foot soldiers appraching the carriage. "Well...Pólmos..." Ash's Ares armor equipped itself, the power that he hadn't used in a while floated through him.

He raised his ax and shield as a volley of arrows flew at him and Cai Er, the driver of the carriage was startled. He quickly fled the scene after, Ash sighed that they had just lost there ride.
"This ones on you." She said, Ash just sighed as he got into his battle stance.

When the first few demons entered Ash's radius, he spun in a circular motion, sending the foot soldiers hurdling to there allies.
"Hmph, I suggest you come at me with a stronger force." Ash challenged the demon commander standing behind the front line.

"It would've been easier on myself if you didn't cause them to notice us Ash. Demonic Transformation: Lancer." Reaching a hand out red lighting circulated through Cai Er's hand as a enormous lance formed in her hand. Her armor appeared in a strike of lighting as two horns formed on her head, the ripples of red lighting flowed through her spear. "Land Destroyer.." slamming her lance into the ground a wave of red lighting rushed forward. The demons tried to evade but the force behind it was too fast. "I don't remember teaching you that." Ash said as he shield bashed one of the spearmen. Cai Er flew into the sky, slamming her lance down hardly into the center of a unit of demons, discharging her lighting.

"Self taught from watching you Master." Cai Er said with a calm voice, "There you go again changing what you call me-" as he was about to finish a cannon ball from a demon cannon rammed into Ash chest, sending him back a few feet, but he still stood as the cannon ball dropped to the ground. "You know...I can still feel it right.." ash through his shield at the demon cannon.

Suddenly Ash was hit by a deep pain. "W-what the..." he looked down at his chest, his chest area of his armor had been destroyed. The blood a small amount of shards dug into Ash's chest.

"These cannons don't seem the same to those from Feita." Ash looked up to see the cannon wasn't destroyed. "What the fu-" "Evade to the left." The demonic cannon fired, quickly Ash turned his body to the side, the ball missing him by a hair. Ash was a bit surprised, "Here, since you know of my existence, let me lend you my power." Athena said.

Suddenly Ash was hit by a burst of energy.
"Oi! Athena, you know that a human body needs to prepare itseld before recieving our power!" Ares yelled, "Don't worry about it, this power put some well thought into this body." Athena said, Ash was shaking as he tried to control the flow.

"That's not the problem! He has my power, Henirs power and demonic power! His body won't be able to handle a fourth one!" Ares said.

Athena gasped.
"Oh shit..." Ash was trying to figure out how to balance this shit out, his nasodic arm started to overload, "Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!" Ash was panicking as his body began to refuse to listen. Cai Er looked back at Ash to see him jerking around, "Master, snap out of it!" Cai Er said.

Ash tried to think, then he remembered what he had,
"That's right I have a nasodic eye..." as Ash realized this the demonic cannon was beginning to load up again. Ash released his armor state, "Ho, then into there it'll go, good call boy, but for now I'll regulate the power that'll flow in their." Athena said, Ash could feel the power disappear but it followed suit with a headache as his nasod eye glowed gold. Ash held his head as he heard the demonic cannon finish loading. Then with a loud bang the cannon ball came hurdling at Ash.

"Pólmos..." Ash equipped his armor once again, through his eye time seemed to slow a little, he could see the weak points on the cannonball, raising his ax Ash spun a full 360° sending the cannonball flying back at the cannon. His Ax broke with the impact but it did the job.

"The hell was that." Ash wondered. Athena cleared her throat. "You evaluated the movement of the cannonball, but I suggest not using evaluation much, the repercussions are major on your mind." Athena said, Ash nodded his head. "I'll save it for emergencies then." Ash ran towards the demon units assisting Cai Er, "Welcome back master!" Cai Er yelled as she threw her lance forward. Ash's gauntlets began to heat up as he went forward clawing off the face of the demon commander. The demins who saw this shivered in fear as heat waves can be seen radiating off Ash's armor. His gauntlets releasing steam from the blood.

"Oi, Ares, does Ash always burn up this much?" Athena asked. "He prefers hand combat, so he uses this power more than any other." Ares said.

Ash dashed forward, ramming his hand through the chest of one foot soldier, pulling his heart out, crushing it.
"Cai Er focus on evacuating the civilians, I'll keep the demons distracted on me!" Ash said. Cai Er nodded her head, leaping forward to the resident area.

"Ash your still wounded, you must finish this quickly." Athena said. Ash knew this already. He remembered back to his fight with Dust. "...Transcendence..." the accursed armor formed on Ash's body, he could feel the pain no longer, the madness began to linger in his head as he unsheathed his sword, in a flash decapitating a dozen of the foot soldiers.

"Haha...let's begin!"

Everyone appeared to be asleep whilst he was awake. Seeing as he must've been knocked unconscious by his brother's slap, he merely wanted to go back to sleep once more. But he remembered what he had...dreamed of clearly. That place that he couldn't understand, it was as if it never existed to begin with. So how could he remember such a thing? If he couldn't understand it, then the memory wasn't processed and stored. Maybe it was more of a feeling, something he wouldn't understand.

With that in mind, he curled up into a fetal position and stared at the wall. He didn't feel tired...

Xavier made it out, already gone through at least 10 breads. He felt relaxed to be back out where he can see the sky clearly. The dragons were already awake, and Xavier was a bit surprised to see Octavia being a bit playful with Aragorn as the red dragon was really annoyed and tried to push her away as she tried to tug his horns around. Ivy was just a bit further away, aware of the two playing and only had a bored look.

“Uh, morning,” Xavier greeted the dragons, both Octavia and Aragorn stopping their wrestling to look at the boy.

“Well there you are, I thought you were going to sleep outside with us,” Aragorn grumbled, having a relieved look that Octavia finally got off of him.

“It’s a good thing he didn’t, he wouldn’t want to hear you sleep talk during the night,” Octavia scoffed and jumped back slightly when Aragorn nipped her leg hard. “Hey!”

“We won’t talk about that,” Aragorn hissed at Octavia. He had a dangerous glare on Octavia yet the blue dragon didn’t shift her position. She merely grunted and blew out an icey breath. The ice wind seem to wrap around Aragorn’s snout and solidify itself together. The red dragon scrambled to his feet and tried to get rid of the ice as he can’t breathe.

“He sleep talked about being the best brother to Octavia and said the most ridiculous things,” Ivy shouted from afar, shifting further back as Aragorn was tossing around to get rid of the ice.

For certain, there was no panic in him but only irritation. Aragorn paused for a moment to increase his body temperature and eventually the ice melted.

“Hell! Don’t do that,” Aragorn snapped at Octavia.

Xavier had an amused smile, forgetting when was the last time they were playful to each other. Aragorn and Octavia weren’t technically siblings, their parents were different from each other as it was impossible for a fire and water dragon to breed. But when they were found as eggs by Cornelius, both hatched at the same time and viewed each other as siblings.

“Forget about me sleep talking, when are we moving out? Im tired of waiting, Xavier,” Aragorn said as he stared at the boy. He saw the bread rolls in his hands and frowned. “You...know having that many is bad for you, right?”

Xavier realized he was still carrying the rolls. “Ah I was going to save these for later. We’ll move out when everyone else back at the village is ready to go,” he said to them.

“Tch, are humans this slow?” Aragorn grumbled as Octavia simply shook her head at the red dragon’s ignorance.

Xavier’s head was still hurting but it seems to be fading slowly for everyone minute passing by. He went ahead to sit beside Ivy, in which she didn’t mind at all. Her calm state had a rather nice effect to anyone around. It was almost like healing but for the mind. He stayed there as Komodo went ahead to explore around after was given permission by Xavier. If Aragorn start to complain continuously on how long they have waited, Xavier will simply have to leave everyone behind to get going.
