Princess x Servant plotwith Forest Dragon Slayer

"Got anything you need help with?" Takeshi asked wondering what he could do. He then saw Sarena's hair getting into her eyes and couldn't help but help get it out of her eyes and put it behind her ears. He then took out a hair band and helped put her hair into a pony tail. "That should help keep your hair out of your eyes."

Sarena bit her lip, blushing when he did this and smiled, turning to look at him. "Thank you," she murmured and then turned back to the shrubs.

"No problem, so anything I can help with?" Takeshi asked. He then noticed Sarena's face turning red. "Hey Princess, you okay? Your face is all red, do you have a fever?" He said this as he used his hand to check her forehead. She didn't seem to have a fever to his surprise.

Sarena blushed more, not that she could blush any more, and looked down. "I-I'm fine," she said, biting her lip more and setting the clippers down.

"Are you sure? If you really need to, just rest over at that bench." Takeshi said completely oblivious to the fact she was blushing and instead thought it was the heat or something.

Sarena shook her head. "No. I'm perfectly fine," she said, picking the clippers back up and started up at clipping the shrubs.

"I guess that makes sense. It is very calming here." Takeshi said let his body relax a little and feel the light breeze and the warm sunshine. "What do you do when it rains then? Wait, I think you'd read then right?"

Sarena nodded and smiled, moving onto the roses. "Yes. I do," she replied and looked at him. "You read, too. Do you not?"

"Not too much." Takeshi replied. "The only things I've read are basic school books and books on combat. It's definitely not up to the amount you've probably read."

Sarena giggled and soon finished, looking over at him. "Ah. Yes, now I remember," she said and brushed down her dress.

"What is it you remembered?" Takeshi asked when it was seeming that Sarena had recalled something. He then put down the clippers and waited for her answer.

She smiled. "That you are very into combat and such. I always mesmerized how the knights are always so...brave."

"Brave huh? More like too prideful." Takeshi said in response. "Well, they put up a good enough front to make people think that. In actuality, majority of the common knights can't do a thing in battle even with all of their training and some even run at the first sight of true danger. That's another reason why I wasn't accepted as a knight in training. They couldn't accept a commoner easily beating a noble's son in swordsmanship."

"It was way too easy." Takeshi replied. "These days, all they think about is the beauty and elegance of their sword style rather than how well it will work in combat. He had too many openings and almost everything was sloppy. The way things are going, there's probably only going to be 10% of the knights that can actually fight well."

"And what will he do?" Takeshi asked. "No offense to him but I doubt he'd be able to get every single noble family to abandon a style passed down from generation to generation."

"What are you getting so sad about?" Takeshi asked the saddened princess next to him. "It's not like you're responsible for all of that. There's no need to beat yourself up over it. There's always a way to solve the problem anyway."

Sarena shrugged. "My father just expects more of me then I can give. And then my mother keeps reminding me that I will have to soon find a husband when I don't want to."

"Man, that must weigh really heavily on you huh?" Takeshi replied. "Why do they have to put so much expectations on you? You're just one person and marriage shouldn't be so easily talked about."

"But don't you ever want to get away from all of that?" Takeshi asked. "You've never questioned any of this?" He really was wondering why she just accepted her fate like that.
