The shy girl has a moment to break out of her shell, the mob mentality gets broken, which relieves some of the crowd tension, and she basically pipes up for the views of the majority of the crowd. And, WolfOfProphecys , due to the edit, it seems a bit more reasonable. Still, I'm wondering: Is Ash chiming in with the others who are chiding the vampires for trying to throw Kalean under the bus?
Considering Ash is currently wounded, wouldn't it also be better to stick around their superior so that the vampires can't use her? She's still a feeder, so they'd be in some shit, but Mob mentality, though broken for now, can be stirred quite quickly. My advice would be, if she wants to help, ensure that Kalean is pulled further to safety. It would show more solidarity between Feeders and could turn into a friendship.

and, as a general rule to everyone, think of this as a very tense and difficult development of chess: The feeders, though protected from other vampires by their House, are still considered pawns. Pawns have to work together quite tightly in order to make it at least most of the way through this game. This comes down to a few pieces that can be moved into position in order to call checkmate, but the problem is that the opponent has King (or the little girl, in this case) in Check. The mob breaking out would declare checkmate, and it's already very, very close to that. The only thing that's stopping the man from acting is a rook, a queen, and a couple bishops.

Move your pieces VERY carefully.

Also, WolfOfProphecys , wouldn't that just mean that she could become valuable as a friend or a person of interest for Kalean's Mistress? I mean, feeder or not, you're helping her Feeder. Very valuable position to be in.

ZiggyZig Make no mistake: If it was a bunch of humans curb kicking a small vampire who wasn't actually strong enough to fend for him/herself, he'd kick their asses.
