Why don't you do both games; maybe even make them in the same world, and have them as competing teams! :D
Oh gosh, that would make me a little insane. I won't say it's off the table, I'd consider it. But, it's less than likely.

If someone put their hand up as co-ST would you do it? (not volunteering :P )

EDIT: Though I would prefer a game with just the one group of exalts and preferably all the same type (or mostly)

Eh, the thing with Abyssals is that they are kind of restricted. The range of valid character concepts seems much smaller to me, and the stories that can be told with them aren't as broad. That is not to say they are bad, just that there are fewer paths they can go down. Infernals seem much more flexible, especially considering they can eventually go on to define their own themes.

Okay, so let me chime in now and tell you guys where I lean after this discussion. These comments have been most interesting. And the voting has been neck and neck the entire time it's been up.

Like I mentioned, I have a few ideas for both games. The one that seems to be fleshed out most, right now in my head, is an Abyssal "Destroy Creation as quickly as possible" done in broad strokes. In other words, you're grouped together, given the specific mission of "making it happen" and asked to choose your target and make your plans. Then, you bring war to Creation's doorstep and wreak havoc.

Again, this just the idea that has had more time to percolate in my mind. If I could decide, I would have not made this thread. :)

Well, here're my ideas, some more fleshed out than others...

Abyssals:

  • "Destroy Creation as quickly as possible" as described above

  • The Yozis have begun the tainting of Creation on all fronts, including the Underworld. You have to throw them back. You might have to make some less-than-fortunate alliances.

  • The Deathlords have effed up thus far. The Neverborn are pissed. Time to clean house. You're the assassination squad who have to kill each one by one and collect their souls for cleaning and reuse.

  • The Empress is back, and tearing Creation a new one. She has created the perfect window of opportunity with her havoc-wreaking. Get in, shut her and her Realm down, and mop up the rest.

Infernals:

  • Much of the groundwork has been laid. The "bride" is ready for reinsertion into Creation. You're the escort and support team.

  • Same as Abyssal: You've been gathered to spearhead a major assault into Creation. Pick your targets and go.

  • Through his various means, the Ebon Dragon has an extensive list of where First Age artifacts are hidden. You're the errand-boys (and girls) who have to play fetch. It might buy you a shiny new General position in the coming assault.

I'd be interested in either game. If you do choose the one or the other, I might even be willing to try to help out with co-dm'ing the other, if it'd help the decision (though I admit I'm much more familiar with Infernals than Abyssals).

I just have four words why Infernals would be the better choice.

My favoured options from Abyssals or Infernals are:

Abyssals:

The Empress is back

  • Much potential for mischief and mayhem in this one, shutting her and her Realm down will take a team of Abyssals and it can be a social game or fisti-cuffs and offer a range of opportunities for all players. Of course, it doesn't have to play out in the Realm, this could also occur in any of several important Threshold cities.

Destroy Creation As Quickly As Possible

  • I would have to adjust my Abyssal concept to accommodate the 'quickly as possible' part but I can get behind this idea.

Infernals

Here Comes The Bride

  • Playing out the Broken Winged Crane. Working as her escort and Realm support team would play very well but I'm not certain I could pull it off personally as a roleplayer (my attempts at politics tend to fail).

Choose your targets with care

  • This is my favourite option for Infernals; Potentially playing out while events in the BWC are beginning, giving us the opportunity to become part of that story as it progresses.

I like these ideas all of them sound fun. Still I find myself wanting to play in the Empress's escort and support team type of game. After all, what could go wrong with that, especially since this is the Ebon Dragon's toy and fun! ^^

I like the 'Destroy Creation' option for Abyssals, and the 'Support Team' option for Infernals. I will say that either game will result in my playing a fisticuffs based character, for whatever it's worth.

This thread is SOOOOO wrong.

There is no 3rd option, to which the dead even 50/50 should point straight...

My dear Fallen Solars, I fear you will have to set aside your major grudges and work together to bring Creation to its knees.

I mean, I am sure the respective masters could steer your missions from time to time towards goals that cause frictions with the other group.

And, hey, are you going to really trust them?

It would be so simple if it wasn't for strong cross-team Intimacies, kinship of Caste and stuff..

Alas, this seems a recipe for disaster.

And if you ask me, a VERY entertaining one...
