Nations are complicated, fickle creatures. Thankfully, in Politicon, a lot of the details about the mighty domain you are to rule can be fleshed out in the IC over time. Nation Files, which are the "character sheets" of this role play's actors, are relatively simple starting out. Below is the skeleton you'll need to fill out and submit to the Nations Files thread as its own post. I have kept BBCode to a minimum for the sake of uniformity. Please do not add any new, abrupt formatting (i.e. color, borders, frilly crap).

For custom maps, flags, and other visual aides (none of which are required), please upload them as attachments, but DO NOT insert them into the posts. These sheets are meant to be clean and simple for ease of use.

• 15th August 1947 - The sun finally sets on the British Empire and two nations India and Pakistan emerge from the chaos of communal conflicts between Hindus and the Mohammedans but what of the 562 princely states ruled by their own respective kings and queens bound by treaty to the British? well, they were given three options Join a union with India, Join a union with Pakistan or become an Independent nation suffice to say King Junagadh I chose Independence over union and thus the archipelago of islands formerly the princely state of Madaveli became a Kingdom within the British Commonwealth.
  
• 19th July 1956 - The Kingdom of Madaveli is one of the founding nations of the Non-Aligned Movement an organization consisting of countries committed to being impartial towards either of the superpowers US or USSR. This movement, however, did not deter the Madavelies from taking millions in aid from the Americans.
  
• 27th January 1963 - Rebels supported by the MCP(M) reportedly the Soviets bomb the presidential palace, killing the then monarch and several members of the royal family, in a brief ceremony the king's nephew Shahaji II was crowned.
  
• 14th November 1969 - A premeditated assault on the capital results in the destruction of important strategic supply routes and infrastructure, in the days that follow the rebels are successfully able to take the capital with the King fleeing to safety. A resolution tabled by the security council to send a contingent of peace keeping forces to Madaveli is vetoed by the Soviets.
• 15th December 1969 - The Americans join the conflict on the side of the Monarchy, owing to the idea that the rise of even a single communist state could, in fact, result in a domino effect across Asia.
• 28th May 1972 - The capital city of Jaroda is finally retaken and the war declared to be over, the Communist Party is declared illegal and any form of socialist or communist propaganda is outlawed. The Americans for all their troubles are allowed to build a military base in Madaveli which holds a very strategic location in South Asia.
• 25th June 1976 - A series of laws are enacted in Madaveli regarding taxation whereby things such as inheritance tax and income tax are completely scrapped thereby making the country, in essence, a tax haven.
• 17th April 1982 - The Kingdom Of Madaveli is declared to be one of the most prosperous nations in South Asia with the Tourism industry contributing most to GDP.
• 13th March 1986 - A state of Emergency is declared and civic liberties are suspended for reasons apparent to no one but the king Shahaji II, the country is essentially converted to a police state.
• 15th December 1991 - In a bloodless coup King Shahaji II is deposed by his son Yaduveera III with the help of one General Khawaja, Shahaji II is exiled from Madaveli and is said to have died soon after in London. Yaduveera III after coming to office introduced a number of reforms creating a constitutional monarchy with a British style parliament. General Khawaja was made the first prime minister and to this day he and his Madaveli National Congress continue to be popular.
• 23 July 2016 - After a series of talks between the delegates of The Kingdom of Madaveli and their Calstoion counter parts a treaty of friendship and cooperation has been put forward and attested, this treaty hopes to bring about greater cooperation amongst both people's in terms of international trade , defence and a whole host of other issues discussed within the treaty.( Monster Lady Gay-Gay )

• June 1948: Formed from a small island off the Arabian Peninsula SOK was envisioned as a land where the most educated would rule. A guild-style system was set up where the people selected representatives from their professional organizations to represent their organization’s needs to the government.
  
  
  
• July 1950: The soldiers and police force demand representation on the Council of Deans, The College of Martial Studies is established.
  
  
  
• August 1952: Doctors and Nurses argue that their needs are not met when considered alongside the purely academic needs of the College of Science, College of Medicine split off.

He promised to restore the country and reform the government. He warns of a long hard road ahead to rebuild what had been squandered.
• 1991 - General Akan announces the National Service system, employing any and all that qualify to work as directed. Workers are guaranteed food and shelter for them and their dependents.
• 1991 - 2001 - A sweeping reform and building program sees the General expand the military to run nationalized infrastructure and transport. The Corps of engineers conscripts skilled labor to preform their previous jobs, restoring and expanding water, power, telecommunications and transportation. The Medical corps assumes control of all medical facilities. Farms are redistributed back to the farmers. National education programs reformed and expanded, stripped of soviet propaganda. National University merged with the Military Collage.
• 2001 - National Investment Bank established to encourage small and medium businesses. Mini and micro loan program begins to help growth at the lowest economic levels.
• 2002-2007 - Military institution begin the process of transitioning administration to civilian control. The Directorate system is established, draftees are released from service.
• 2008 - General Akan begins the process of restoring civilian leadership as the Directorate assumes control of the last of the administrative system.
• 2009 - National referendum held, under close international scrutiny. A new constitution is adopted forming an elected executive council to oversee the Directorate.
• 2010 - General Akan steps down for national elections only to be put forward as the candidate for the National Unity Party. The National Unity Party wins with 55% of the vote. 16 of 27 seats held.
  
• 2015 - General Akan's National Unity Party forms coalition government with the centrist leaning Democrats Party. 2 new seats added due to population growth. 15(12 and 3) of 29 seats held.

Moments in History

• August 1982: President Conrad Steele of the Steele Group negotiates with the governments of four failing African states and purchases contiguous portions of each state as corporate territory. This is a major investment and the Steele Group divests itself of many of its international holdings to develop the corporate state. Backed by the United States of America, the corporate territory is recognized as the Steele Foundation and (protected by corporate mercenaries) develops extensive local industries and communities.
  
  
• April 1993: Eritrean independence declared, Eritrea subsequently joins the World Consortium and the OAU. The Board of the Steele Foundation determines a new development is needed, and the corporate state is reformed as a monarchy, the Ewe-Fante Foundation under King Conrad Steele. The other board members and their families become nobility in the EFF, along with a handful of tribal leaders from the major African tribes in the state. The EFF is admitted into the World Consortium, but does not apply for the OAU. The Royal Family retains control of the mining and pharmaceutical industries, as well as Steele Group's R&D division. Other business interests develop under direct control of other citizens, nobility foremost among them.
  
  
• June 2013: Death of King Conrad I, his eldest heir Leah takes the throne. Some support for Leah's younger brother (Nicholas) as the eldest male heir, but no provision for gender bias written into the laws of succession in '93. Educated in the West, Leah has a very different worldview to her father and makes ties outside the Crown's natural allies.
  
  
• October 2016: Leah forces through a constitutional change: on the death of the monarch, a national referendum is held to elect a new monarch (for life). Backlash from traditional elements, while pro-democratic elements support the Crown.

Moments in History

• The United States Congress overwhelmingly passes the Freedom of Commerce and Development Act (FDCA), which establishes a new territory on an artificial island off the eastern coast of Guam, where a truly laissez-faire economic policy allows corporations to govern themselves. The intent of the project was to deliver a desperately needed jolt to the American economy after decades of burdensome regulations that stifled growth and development.
  
  
• Construction of the island begins immediately after the bill’s approval by then-President Barbara Walsh, and is built to support a single city-state named Safe Haven. Two years later, the city allows corporations to begin purchasing property.
  
  
• Isaac Evenway’s wife, Juniper, passes away from cancer and the 34-year-old oncologist, frustrated with a lack of progress in fighting the disease, even during a changing political climate, starts a biomedical organization of his own: Apex. The fledgling start-up is founded in Safe Haven, where government interference is almost non-existent.
  
  
• Safe Haven is divided into three districts, each controlled by and named after a head-of-state, called a triumvir. Isaac Evenway becomes one of the triumvirs. His district becomes a new home for major STEM corporations and new tech start-ups. The other districts belong to Thelma Rossplain (which caters to higher education institutes, the fashion industry, and liberal arts organizations) and Arthur Westbank (the world’s new “capital of commerce”).

• September 12th 2010:News of a new island emerging near North Carolina's coastline. Carter Lee a multibillionaire businessman who is known also for fighting in Vietnam for 2 years, has been reported to immediately bid around 150 million dollars for the island as his property. Within four months of the islands discovery, it was sold to Carter Lee.
  
• August 1st 2011: reports are coming in that Carter Lee is attempting to further expand the island. Some U.S Senators have complained about this but have yet to actually take any such action. Many assume that Carter Lee has gotten this idea from the FDCA Act that had recently been passed.
  
  
• April 24th 2012: Carter Lee has announced that he is revoking his U.S citizenship and has announced that he is in the process of creating a new country. Many within the U.S find this either ridiculous, absurd, or ok. • April 30th 2012: Today Carter Lee and his newly appointed congressional members, have announced their independence as "The United Confederation". More negative opinions from the mainland find the name "offensive", "Racist", or "Stupid". • November 5th 2016: Many reports of immigration to the New island nation as the election has torn the public in half for Mitchel Crump, and Timithy carilliton. • Towards the end of the Cold War, elements of the Soviet Armed Forces began to realize that it was increasingly unlikely that the Soviet Union would be able to keep up with the fervent spending of the United States and would simply end up crumbling from within. Accordingly, many high level officers began to discuss how they could save their country from this predicament created by the corrupt politicians in Moscow. The seedlings of revolution had already been planted, and as such, meetings of like-minded individuals began to take place across the country. It was thus, that the predecessor of the National Redemption Council was created on August 8, 1985.
• As the public facade of prosperity continued to crumble, the brave revolutionaries finally decided to act, on the 6th anniversary of the group's founding. It had taken years of planning, but all the elements of the plan were in place. First, the 8th Tank Battalion led by Lt Col. Toscha Mijasik and the 25th Motorized Rifle Regiment led by Col. Ilya Pasternak stormed the Russian White House, taking the highest government hostage in hopes of crippling any potential response by loyalists to Gorbachev. Almost simultaneously, the
