Fandom Pokemon: Worlds Unfurled

Alrighty.... so what do we do next?
Imagine they will turn in the pokemkn they found for further care, obviously.

Then pushed aside by the authorities leaving them to meander around. (Lol thanks for the help, now get lost)

With them meandering, and also told to stay back. How would they end up with the pokemon they were to adopt? I imagine they would need to stay there a few days for multiple reasons. With no real pokemkn hub with the center gone, is it something that Kelly will get with them about?

Very true. I will give it credit for that. The most mature pokemon rp I have been on.
Kelly will indeed be taking over the care of Pokemon who were abandoned or left without Trainers. The authorities will help with the gathering of Pokemon who are without owners, be they from Team Rocket or otherwise.

So one way or another you guys will be dragged to one place outside of the established perimeter they will set up.

Also, it's kind of hard to miss what Ryu did for those who were anywhere within range to help out and see what happened. Seeing Sakura there as well will be possible for those who want to approach her for whatever reason or at least take notice of the fact that she was present to help out even if there is no interaction.

Hey boss, I wasn't entirely sure where Sakura and Kelly were exactly. If she was close to the pokemon center or pushed out of the exterior like everyone else. So I kinda left that part vague. I also didn't know if Kelly was still there.

They're still there in the vicinity of the Pokemon Center so you're good with what you provided. I'll give a response when I get home from school later today to keep things from getting too vague again.

Gotcha boss. Oh and Ricky wasn't being rude. He isn't good with names he doesn't use very often.

Also something I forgot to ask way back when. Ricky is from Viridian City. Where Ryu is the gym leader.

How much would Ricky know about Mr. Ryu?( As I imagine any gym leader is a local celebrity. ) And vice versa, something I might be able to use for a plot at some point depending.

The Gym Leaders are not really known as celebrities. They are highly decorated and respected Trainers, yes, but not celebrities. They aren't always on TV, they're not always being assaulted by paparazzi, and they consider being a Gym Leader more of a gift and a privilege than a job or a calling.

The Gym Leaders are fairly private people, and when they're on downtime or assignment away from their own Gym they often leave an assistant to do battle with new Trainers in their stead as opposed to leaving a "Come back later" sign outside the Gym door. That wouldn't be too nice, ya know?

Ryu is easily the most secretive of the Gym Leaders. Not much is known about his personal history as a Trainer, and the rumors of whether or not he defeated the current Elite Four before becoming a Gym Leader remains open to speculation though there are strong hints that he did. But again, they're just unconfirmed rumors. So Ryu is not exactly a social butterfly and one to openly speak with or pal around with other people. He's a very private person.

Despite growing up in the town where Ryu is the Gym Leader, Ricky won't know much about him. Maybe he happened to see him a few times and say "hello", but that'd be about it.

Okay then!

@CloudyBlueDay, @KingHink, @TerraBooma

So, I am going to provide you guys with a list of reasons why Sakura is always at the center of things and why it seems that she's plot relevant. The following points should help you guys figure out ways to come up with events and reasonings as to why your characters will have their own special events and plot relevance as well. So here goes!

1) Crazy little Team Rocket girl is Sakura's cousin. No lie.

That little girl is having Sakura followed and watched everywhere she goes, and though baby cousin's maturity level does not match her intellect, that intellect is in fact every bit as formidable as she claimed. The Team Rocket girl is the one who has found out that there is something going on in Johto with a certain water dwelling avian Legendary Pokemon which is connected to Sakura. She doesn't yet know why, but she knows that something is happening. Whenever something happens around Sakura to stir her emotions past a certain threshold, something happens in the Johto Region's oceans. Violent storms, giant whirlpools, and freak tidal waves. All happening nearly exactly when Sakura is pushed to the brink in some respect.

So Team Rocket plot point for Sakura having baby cousin involved as its pint sized leader.

2) Sakura is one of those lucky people who will see her world torn down a million times before she finds her place. I'm evil to her that way.

3) I am one of those crazy people who's mind is always coming up with something new to do not only to my own characters, but to yours as well which is why I force certain events on you guys like the Team Rocket attack and your characters not being able to do anything to participate in stopping it from happening. If they are allowed to participate in stopping it, they get a sense of victory and confidence, and I (we) don't want that!.

(Bad luck I'm afraid for you guys, being stuck with such a sick and twisted GM as myself. Muwahahaha!!)

4) And lastly, I naturally have a desire to push the limits of what I can come up with. Every time I think I've found something to use for Sakura and your guys' characters, I come up with yet another idea or two, or three, or ten! Muwahaha!!

So yeah. Sakura is plot central due to baby cousin in Team Rocket mostly. But also my natural inability to stop thinking and coming up with random crazy ideas is playing into it as well.

If you guys want to spend some time on your own coming up with personal events and cool happenings, you're more than welcome to do so.

If the event or whatever idea that you come up with only affects your character, you do not need to run it by me unless it involves the acquisition of a Pokemon. If it involves everyone's characters (or at least one other person's) then my permission must be acquired.

All right then!

... GO!!

Alrighty! Time to get to business.

It's cool that Sakura has all these things going on with her. And it's fun watching her get tortured. And it's fun seeing where her plot goes.

The challenge lay in that her personal plot is the main driving plot of the rp. Not a bad thing. However, the challenge part is that she is the only char with purpose and intimate involvement in the plot. Hypothetically, you could take Ricky Harlow and Paul out of the equation entirely and the story would still be able to go on unhindered. If I had any problem with the RP, this would probably be the only thing. Which it isn't a problem seeing as we got four minds here willing and able to come up with solutions, and that the recent theme of the OOC lately is plot involvement. And as Kyero just mentioned, here is where we figure it out. So sweet deal on the matter.

Anywho. The challenge I mentioned hasn't lessened despite what I said. Sakura is the only one with any real reason to be involved. She's special. Harlow, Paul, and Ricky are not. They are ordinary trainers. No special history. No special abilities. No special bonds or relations to any special. Though this does have its merrits, it is the imbalance that makes things weird. As of now they are basically just spectators to world events centering around Sakura. Obviously this should be able to be fixed pretty darn easily.

Here are a few options I can think of off the top of my head that we could use. Be it theme or something more specific.

The three trainers need to gain some connection to team rocket. In a way that team rocket takes notice of them. Be it they want to kill or capture or convince the trainers. Maybe they pissed them off. Maybe familial relations. Something. Anything. The goal of this being to put them on the same level of plot relevance as Sakura. However it might be tough to think up anything as special as cousin to the team rocket leader and having a psychic bond to a legendary water bird that they want.

Another option being a parallel plot. Somethjng big and special and important as Sakura journey, that doesn't involve Sakura being centric to it but still affects it in some way. This would be a bit easier. But I would worry it might create narrative imbalance and/or take away the significance of the events going on. Though I do foresee us using this sort of thing in a smaller scale.

Personal happenings will no doubt happen. But we would be terribly hard pressed to come up with something like is going on with Sakura. This would take away significance of other plots if everyone has their own super major cool one. And it would lead to solo posting... (#hates) as with the prior one I see this also being used but in smaller scale.

Of course you may be able to combine a little of it all. A personal plot that runs parallel to Sakura plot that catches team rockets attention.

Regardless. Everyone's history has already been set in stone. So besides a few minor tweeks, our hands are tied in adding too much special history. Though I suppose it isn't impossible, as there are always cracks to fill in every CS. So what we have to work with will be the present and future. Something will need to happen to put the plot/specialness in motion.

That is just a few words I have on the matter. Does anyone else have anything to add?

Now I don't really have a clear idea yet. But I think a good place to start discussing/looking for a solution would be the gym leaders. They seem to be able to make things special lol.

PAUL IS THE MOST NORMALISH OUT OF THE TRIO
DONT DISS NORMAL!!! NORMAL TYPES KICK ASS.

and normal is a fairly relative term with only a subjective meaning. For example. Paul is actually not the normal one in the group. He is the abnormal one as his personality type differs from the majority of his companions.

I can't even disagree xD

As usual you come up with some good points King, but I believe I have answers for the lingering questions and doubts.

First of all, if ya'll end up sticking with Sakura then Team Rocket will have no choice but to pay attention to you. Remember Sakura's being watched 24/7 by baby cousin's order, if ya'll are with her, ya'll are being watched to and forced right into the center spotlight along with her. What happens to her happens to you. No way around it.

Secondly, even if you don't stick with Sakura for long she and Kelly will engage in a conversation on my next post which should get some gears grinding in your characters' heads. Sakura is going to finally figure out what Kelly meant about "A Pokemon's identity lies within its identity", and the rather simple philosophy is going to help unlock new methods of training and understanding of our Pokemon which will make them grow in strength quite rapidly from here on out.

As your Pokemon grow stronger, and battles with Team Rocket become inevitable, you will be able to hold your own. Since you travel in a group, even Team Rocket will have their hands full with you forcing them to acknowledge your characters as threats. Now whether that's a good thing or a license for a bullet to the brain is up to you, though I'd advise against the latter.

Lastly remember that your Legendaries (for most of you anyway) are not inherently psychic in the same manner as Lugia, but they all have special powers and extrasensory perception beyond what humans are capable of understanding. It's one of the reasons why Lugia can sense Sakura rather than just psychically connect to her like one would expect. And that's also the reason why baby cousin knows something is going on, but not what. If it was as simple as a psychic connection, baby cousin would have figured it out and taken advantage of it by now.

Over the distance from Kanto to Johto, even Lugia's psychic powers just aren't strong enough to reach her through normal means. But his almost supernatural perception allows him to sense what she's feeling, and your Legendaries will have the same ability so they should start becoming aware of your presence and existence as well and feeling your struggle from afar. This perception is what will guide them to you in the future.

This should start helping with the whole "relevancy" issue. Grouping up with Sakura is the best method for ensuring you're always front and center to what goes on, as well as being a part of it as you grow stronger with your Pokemon and start becoming a threat to Team Rocket in your own right in time. So I'd push for that.

Sakura is a bit reluctant to engage your characters because of what happened during their last meeting, but if Ricky pours on some of that good old charm of his, I'm sure Sakura will not be able to say "no" to joining them.

Lol should be easy enough to get her into things then. I think it may be time for another speech. Ricky will pour on the charm and sweat charisma. It's the way of the Rolland. Though in this instance I might suggest we take a few liberties to ease the transition so they end up as a group. The last thing we need is for the scene to devolve into a similar disaster as last time.

Back to the explanations you offered. They did well. And going as a group is the best option I can think (I been saying it forever!). I go no qualms with that at all.

Now then we come to a little point you brought up about the bullet to the head thing. Arguably, it would be what team rocket would logically want. As Sakura is the only one not expendable. So thinking of some way around that might need to be brainstormed.one option being probably working in something with a legendary.

Once together and on the journey. All we would have to do from there is tweet a few things to adjust any balance issues and it should be smooth sailing as far as I can see. Collaborating events for the chars with our collective rp skill as we go.

Will that help any boss?
It did. And hopefully my post helped as well.

It was the fastest way for me to ensure that something involving the group would mean something. So I hope you enjoy the change of scenery!
