Given that the RP isn't canon to the games/anime/manga, go for it. I'll take a look at what you have when you are finished and if it sounds good then it's yours.cloudyblueday said:In the anime Jirachi only awakens for seven days every thousand years. Maybe we could change that in this RP?
All right, no rush. I'm waiting on someone (possibly two people) who showed interest in the players wanted ad who might be joining later so you have plenty of time. I want to give everyone who's interested their fare shot at getting involved before the RP begins.KingHink said:It killed me choosing between Ho-oh and Victini.(and even now I am still second guessing myself).
Kyero, I will have the Legendary History finished tonight as time provides.
I know, but the power of revival is a gift that no being human or Pokemon possesses in this RP. It can be part of Ho-oh's mythology, but not its reality.KingHink said:Alright Kyero. But I did not name the pokemon that were killed in the fire, so they are not necessarily the three legendary dogs. The focus of that was to show it's power to revive rather than creation of a legendary species.(Which was why I left them unnamed to leave it open for interpretation)
I omitted only one sentence from Jirachi's history and that was the part about it "waiting" for its ideal trainer. As I mention in the RP's rule section the Legendary Pokemon of this RP are not waiting for anyone. They are simply going about their lives and it will be nothing short of pure coincidence that your paths will cross in the future though your character may attribute it to fate.cloudyblueday said:@Kyero I think I'm finished with my CS sheet. Got any tips/suggestions or things you might like me to change?
Remember the RP's entire point is realism, and what is "real" about being able to revive something from death? Not much, if anything really. I thought that would have been a matter of common sense, no offense intended.KingHink said:I could have used a little warning on that. I was considering using that aspect in the future. Nothing I can't handle losing, though. But consider the history WIP for the time being, I might got to switch a few things around to smooth it out.
Fair enough points. I don't mind Ho-oh being able to heal, but reviving something from death I cannot allow. Not even Arceus, the supposed "God" of Pokemon, can do something like that in this RP.KingHink said:No offense taken. Just keep in mind that I am not without understanding of your point. I see what you are saying and I am not against it. In my defense, realism may be the the theme, but when creatures able to do extraordinary things are involved(any pokemon able to spit fire for example) some liberties need to be taken as well as laws of physics and metaphysics need to be bent. Beings able to bend the world around them to their will with their mind can be equally unrealistic depending on the perspective. The balance between the real and unreal is not quite yet entirely clear(but getting more so with every question answered). So from what has been learned so far, maybe the summary of allowance would be "realism with exaggerated improbabilities" ?
With more understanding under my belt, how about an attempt to make it fit? Let us say that if it was in it's mythology, then there was a seed to make that belief take root. What about something along the lines of healing? Much along the lines of how the "Revive" and "Restore" items work. Such an ability used on the right person with the right affliction could have sparked the myth it could bring someone back to life. Though I suppose I would then have to explain the how. Which would be tricky.
Just so you know, I am not meaning to beat a dead horse, but instead trying to get a grasp on the tools that I will have to work with in the future, whether it be with or without.
Thank you. If I knew more about the different kinds of medicines used during life/death procedures in reality I'd be listing them too but I don't so I have to make due with "restoratives."Shura said:Oh by the way I love your description of revive for this world
