Fandom Pokemon: Worlds Unfurled

In the anime Jirachi only awakens for seven days every thousand years. Maybe we could change that in this RP?
Given that the RP isn't canon to the games/anime/manga, go for it. I'll take a look at what you have when you are finished and if it sounds good then it's yours.

It killed me choosing between Ho-oh and Victini.(and even now I am still second guessing myself).

Kyero, I will have the Legendary History finished tonight as time provides.

All right, no rush. I'm waiting on someone (possibly two people) who showed interest in the players wanted ad who might be joining later so you have plenty of time. I want to give everyone who's interested their fare shot at getting involved before the RP begins.

Update guys!

At the suggestion of KingHink, the requirement to start in Pallet Town has been lifted.

Many factors, such as personal finances, distance from your home to Pallet, etc., can make the trip almost impossible for some. Instead, if your character would be better suited to (or simply make more sense starting elsewhere), then you may start elsewhere. Every City has its own Pokemon Center and its own private Pokemon Professor working there so it's not going to be impossible to start somewhere other than Pallet. For those who are already in the vicinity of Pallet, I'll ask that you remain there. But for those who come from a different region or who might simply live far away from Pallet, you may begin in your respective city.

Also, in regards to how Gym Leaders function, they will have varying parties of Pokemon depending on the information they receive from the challenger's Pokedex. Once they know the Trainer's record, they can choose the party best suited to challenge the Trainer while not making it impossible or too easy for them to win. This comes from a Pokemon Theory, or so I'm told, but it proves to be a good idea. Sometimes, such as when Trainers visit Kanto from other regions first, they'll have advanced level parties and so the Gym Leaders would need to adjust their own parties to be able to appropriately challenge them.

So that's also a change.

Me and @Shura have decided together that we would start in Vermillion City

Apparently it is spelled Vermilion. The Milion part is confusing. I always want to spell it Million.

I made a few tweaks to the history, as all of the Legendary Pokemon will feature eventually I have backstories for those which remain unused. The three Legendary Dogs of Johto never died in any fire or attack on the Towers in Ekruteak, in fact they were nowhere near it when it happened so they were removed altogether. Their history and primary role in the RP's later stages will be quite a major one, so I'm going to take charge of their backstories for the time being.

Anyway, I'm going to wait a couple more days before starting the RP because a couple people in the player's wanted thread said they were interested in joining but might take a day or two before they could clear their schedules to get involved properly.

Alright Kyero. But I did not name the pokemon that were killed in the fire, so they are not necessarily the three legendary dogs. The focus of that was to show it's power to revive rather than creation of a legendary species.(Which was why I left them unnamed to leave it open for interpretation)

It is just sad to see a paragraph disappear in such a manner. No worries though, I will add another to keep the flow from feeling discombobulated(to me)

I know, but the power of revival is a gift that no being human or Pokemon possesses in this RP. It can be part of Ho-oh's mythology, but not its reality.

@Kyero I think I'm finished with my CS sheet. Got any tips/suggestions or things you might like me to change?
I omitted only one sentence from Jirachi's history and that was the part about it "waiting" for its ideal trainer. As I mention in the RP's rule section the Legendary Pokemon of this RP are not waiting for anyone. They are simply going about their lives and it will be nothing short of pure coincidence that your paths will cross in the future though your character may attribute it to fate.

Other than that minor fix, everything looked good.

I could have used a little warning on that. I was considering using that aspect in the future. Nothing I can't handle losing, though. But consider the history WIP for the time being, I might got to switch a few things around to smooth it out.

Remember the RP's entire point is realism, and what is "real" about being able to revive something from death? Not much, if anything really. I thought that would have been a matter of common sense, no offense intended.

No offense taken. Just keep in mind that I am not without understanding of your point. I see what you are saying and I am not against it. In my defense, realism may be the the theme, but when creatures able to do extraordinary things are involved(any pokemon able to spit fire for example) some liberties need to be taken as well as laws of physics and metaphysics need to be bent. Beings able to bend the world around them to their will with their mind can be equally unrealistic depending on the perspective. The balance between the real and unreal is not quite yet entirely clear(but getting more so with every question answered). So from what has been learned so far, maybe the summary of allowance would be "realism with exaggerated improbabilities" ?

With more understanding under my belt, how about an attempt to make it fit? Let us say that if it was in it's mythology, then there was a seed to make that belief take root. What about something along the lines of healing? Much along the lines of how the "Revive" and "Restore" items work. Such an ability used on the right person with the right affliction could have sparked the myth it could bring someone back to life. Though I suppose I would then have to explain the how. Which would be tricky.

Just so you know, I am not meaning to beat a dead horse, but instead trying to get a grasp on the tools that I will have to work with in the future, whether it be with or without.

Fair enough points. I don't mind Ho-oh being able to heal, but reviving something from death I cannot allow. Not even Arceus, the supposed "God" of Pokemon, can do something like that in this RP.

Gotcha, boss. It being late and me being hungry, I will probably start working on the smooth-over tomorrow. I will let you know when I got it fixed up so you can take another look at it. I am looking forward to seeing where you take this RP. And to everyone else, I am looking forward to playing with you all when the time comes.

This RP already seems fairly different from rps I've been part of in a good way though. Really excited for it to start!

On a slightly different note is anyone else excited for Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby?

I am eagerly awaiting their arrival!!

Also, question for everyone:

Do you prefer I leave this RP as a sandbox and "forge your own adventure," or would you prefer I change it to be a group activity? Eventually the events of the RP will affect everyone anyway, but would you rather experience it as a group or as individuals?

Oh by the way I love your description of revive for this world

Thank you. If I knew more about the different kinds of medicines used during life/death procedures in reality I'd be listing them too but I don't so I have to make due with "restoratives."

Anyway, did you see the question posed in the edit to my recent post?

Hmnn. Well, this is a group RP, and if everyone is doing their own thing, it'll end quickly. I think you should definitely add some more group activity but It can still be sandbox.

Ah very cool. Do you study/work in medicine?

As for the the question I prefer a group setting mostly because it gives people more to go off of when writing replies. Otherwise is a collection of solo writings if someone is traveling on their own. I'm working with @DamagedGlasses glasses so I'll have someone to react to regardless of how the RP is run.

While I think Sandbox would be more enjoyable for a pokemon rp, I think having a Group would probably be more efficient.
