So, something I didn't put on the RP's main page is that this RP is basically a "forge your own adventure" RP. There is an underlying story, and my character Sakura is basically a catalyst through which I will tell the main events as they unfold. If you want your character involved in them, you may get involved. If you want to ignore the story that's being told in the background you are free to do so.
Think of this as a sandbox rpg, completely open world and having only the rules that belong to the Official Pokemon League to slow you down. But that's if you even participate. When you receive your Pokedex and your first Pokemon, you are not required to participate in the Pokemon League. It is there if you want it, but otherwise the world is yours to explore and your adventure for you to define on your own.
If you would like to partner with someone, or play as a group all together, then let me know your preference and we can begin constructing a method by which to accomplish this. But by default this is a sandbox RP for you to forge your own adventure on your own time without feeling the need to rush to keep up with anyone else (unless you've partnered up in which case it's on you to keep pace with your posting buddy).
Another thing is that Team Rocket is indeed the central antagonist and one of the few canon pieces of material I am using to drive it home that this world is dangerous (hence the no children under the age of 16 rule). Counter to their video game and manga/anime counterpart, this organization is vast and very, very dangerous. They are highly organized, and are not often known to fail. When they do fail, they have several contingencies to ensure that their goals are met even if one or two of the attempts aren't successful at first. They use Pokemon as tools of war in the most basic sense of the phrase, in that they use them to attack humans as well as viciously train their own Pokemon to attack with intent to cause grievous harm to their opponents.
Team Rocket is not to be taken lightly, as even their lowest level operatives have very powerful Pokemon under their command and if you aren't careful they will kill your Pokemon if given the chance. They'll try to steal them first, of course, but if they can't do that they'll be just as happy to kill them.
