Yes, this side of the Pokemon world is a very dark one. But there's that ray of sunshine at the end however that makes it seem worth it... Right

Worth fighting for, maybe. But I feel like wishing this world into reality would be awful. I mean, sure: for our immediate group, it's not so bad. Amber has died, and April has been severely wounded before, but other than those two things nothing major has occurred that's bad. But then think about their backstories. Then think about how many innocent people have died to Eclipse that we never even see. We've had entire towns and forest communities be razed. So... to wish that world into reality would, I think, be an act of cruelty.

Who says Eclipse has killed anyone else. ;)

I see your point though. But also remember that in reality war is somethings that exists too. Heck, there's people dying right now to various groups around the world. Eclipse is just more upfront in this case right now because he is the main antagonist.

I swear to god if Amber is the only one Eclipse has killed...

Actually, that reminds me. I've been wondering this since it happened, and no matter how much I think about it, it just doesn't make sense to me. Why didn't Eclipse turn April into a shadow when she was willing? No matter how hard I try, I just can't rationalize that decision.

Because the group in question is a thorn in his side. And no matter how much he tried to be rid of them they just won't quit. With all of them watching each others back corrupting them is very difficult and they are strong enough that they aren't easily defeated by sheer force as well.

Eclipse has great numbers so if he could he could simply over run them until they didn't have the strength to keep fighting. And more powerful pokemon to add to his army are hard to come by as they are rarer and very strong to begin with. But even if he gets stronger Pokemon they are usually limited to where they can go. Same goes for most of the rest of his army. Air transportation is a thing by flying much of his army to another location but even that has limitations to how much he can move. So he's really stuck with what he's got in each region already.

In Eclipse's mind, killing April was going to be a way to permanently weaken the group. As if she was corrupted the group could "un-corrupt" her and bring her back to the group. With her dead there is no way they can bring here back.

He plans this for pretty much all the members of this group until they are weak enough in numbers to start corrupting.

Alright... but April was alone and submissive. At one point in that same battle, he tried to turn Max into a shadow while he was around Amber and Draka. So why would he try that on Max but not April

An attempt to temporary cripple the group to make yet easier to take out.

I mean, I totally think trying to shadow Max was a good idea, the best in fact, I just don't see why that logic doesn't carry over to April is all

The only reason I can think of is that Max is one of the best fighters in the group (perhaps tied with Latios,) so he's less likely to be turned back than April

Corruption is easier to inflict than a killing blow. Think about it. All it has to do is touch you with the flame. A killing blow is harder to pull off. That's why max was targeted for corruption instead of killing.

It's all strategic, ok.

Been looking back on some of the fun moments, man! This RP's been pretty awesome. ^^

Oh yeah, it's been an amazing ride so far

Some of my personal favorite moments:

April and Arcanus's first kiss

April and Arcanus by the cliff side (I love this ship too much please help)

Battle for the Town (first experience with the fatality of the quest, first real battle, and introduction of Nathan as a use in battle)

Max and Latios reminiscing on their pasts.

Amber's Death (I planned for this for MONTHS, you would not BELIEVE the catharsis when it finally happened)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I ADORE the Emlax ship, I really do, but they've had, like... three scenes together.

First was Max's introduction, when Emlas found him picking berries. That was fun, but it doesn't stand out much.

Next was when Max bought her the necklace. This was when I began shipping the two, so it holds a fond place in my heart, but again, in the grand scheme of things, it's not THAT memorable.

The last scene is the one I mentioned last night. I considered including that on the list, and I might do it, but while it was fun, I don't know that it deserves a spot on the list until something actually happens one way or the other between the two of them. It was close though.

Oh, and another scene for the list: April and Amber on the beach, and April vs Emlas race. We got to see just how much of a bitch April could be... how far she's come since then...

Y'know oddly enough, I enjoy it when groups are smaller. In the beginning when we had sooo many people, it made things really hard to keep track of. Which is part of the reason why Umbra died, I really couldn't take the chaos and pressure anymore, and I needed a break to be honest. But now that it's just a small group of people that I can keep track of, I'm enjoying myself way more.

Plus Arcanus is a way more developed character than Umbra ever was, and I'm delighted that I have fleshed out his personality so well.

I agree. I'd like one or two more people, but this is a decent size.

Also, *reels*

I totally forgot that you were Umbra. I thought it was just some rando.

Oh my gosh, you did? Like, all this time, you thought some random person played Umbra and left without a trace? XD That's actually really funny, I'm sorry

No, I'm laughing too. I remember constantly trying to save Umbra, and it got so bad that Latios PM'd me and basically said "f**k off she wants to die"

XDD Oh my gosh, that's funny. I was trying so hard to kill her off and I was like: "Dangit, Assailant, stop being so heroic!"
