Zahzi
Grade-A Jackass
The Durant looked to the two that had come closer, eyeing them down. While the woman would only receive a parting glance, his attention fell onto the new man more. Something about this one annoyed him more than the others. He would figure out why soon enough.
He had just started to turn his body toward this new one, prepared to pounce, when Jarid's hand blocked his view of the Hostage's estranged fellow.
"Enough." he growled, as he looked back down at his cards.
He stared down at the card he had flipped over with slight bemusement. Citizen. Ironic, with his history. Apparently this culture thought it was funny.
He shook his head and leaned back in his chair, watching the dealer's compatriots leave their chairs without a fuss. Odd, to say the least. He seemed to be fairly liberal with the invitation to take from the bowl of food, too. The bowl Jarid seemingly refused to take anything from. He also glanced at the two newcomers to the table. Both had arrived the same time as him. And while that makes them absolved of any suspicion, they might just get in the way if things went south.
Perhaps he was being paranoid. Perhaps the dealer was just that giving of a person and that bored that he was totally okay with bringing them into his card game. Unfortunately, such friendly nature struck poorly with Jarid. Red flags were present everywhere, and while he knew it seemed ridiculous...
Something felt...Off.
