Small question before I make a fool of myself when I post, the people non-native to Kanto, is it being treated as them being dropped off in the starter town to meet with Oak and Yume? Or would they arrive in a close by town/city and have to walk to Palette town to get to the Lab? Also sorry if this was already addressed and I just missed it.

No worries. It wasn't addressed before, so good question.

For those folks who are non-native to Kanto, they could arrive by any number of ways such as by boat to any port city, plane to ANY city, or via some kind of Pokemon carrier service with flying types large enough and strong enough to carry their weight.

Eventually they'll have made their way to Pallet to meet Professor Oak and Yume and then they'll start.

So how do Pokemon moves work?

They're not limited to 4 moves known, but what moves can it be assumed a Pokemon will know?

Good question.

Some moves like bite, tail whip, headbutt, etc are all moves that should be inherently easy to teach your Pokemon. Other moves like Razor Leaf, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, etc, would likely have to be seen in action before the Pokemon could eventually figure out how the move is done. And in most cases this isn't a "see it once and now I know it" kind of thing. They'll have to see moves like those several times before their brains make the connection that "Oh, I can do this too!"

Hopefully that makes sense.

When in doubt if you think your Pokemon needs to learn a move or want to know how long it should take you can always ping me either here or in DM's and we can discuss the matter.

Cheers!

iono and that image of a squirtle playing on its trainers phone did irreparable damage to my brain

Raihan is an icon I can never get enough of him
the way he took a selfie when he was dynamaxing his pokemon activated something in me.

also whatever was going on with kabu

the fact that two men from the same game both made be feel somethin needs to be studied...

I'm pretty sure I literally did one of those fangirl screams when he did that, it was so cool and it made him seem more human, I love how more and more the gym leaders and characters are getting so much personality in game.

Also Kabu and his Centiskorch are the best best 👌

sword and shield had SUCH good npc's...until the epilogue. like, all of the gym leaders were so good? granny adopted a grandson and turned him into a femboy.

GojiBean GojiBean were you planning to implement a post order, is the rule "use common courtesy"?

Hoyo!

I rarely implement strict posting orders because I feel it can sometimes bog things down, especially when one or more people suddenly have life smack them in the face forcing them to slow down. Then everyone has to slow down with them, ya know?

I would say using your best judgement, and keeping common courtesy in mind, would be the best approach for posting. If you have an opening, by all means take it. But if you also just posted one turn ago then it's probably best to wait a lil' bit to give others a chance to get something in if they have time as well. Know what I mean?

If everyone would prefer a more strict posting order then we can definitely implement one. So, what does everyone think?

Posting order, yay or nay?

i consider post orders a roleplay killer, so itll be a nay from me.

Nay

Could we please get a page specifically for character sheets so it's easier to check them?

Consider it done!

EDIT:
-----

Also, it looks like everyone's against the posting order so we're going to leave it out.

I'll have a post up soon myself. Just need to wake up a bit more so my brain's not totally useless. XD

Hopefully everyone's okay with me pushing us forward just a touch. I didn't want anyone wasting time making a post where all you did was step up in line and scan your PokéDex. Know what I mean?

Now we can get to the adventure proper!

I edited my first post to include my character breaking out of prison, have the “outpatient program” be a job at the local bakery instead of the journey itself, and make Kayla less of a jerk.

It’s funny how she says at the end that they need to go. Now. Only for Professor Oak to keep them there with a long speech. She’ll probably be tapping her foot impatiently through the whole thing and decline Sage’s request for a group picture in the interest of time, don’t know yet.

GojiBean GojiBean Are you gonna move it along, or should the rest of us come up with something in our next posts? I really can’t see mine being anything other than replying to a group picture request and playing with someone else’s Pokemon… Wouldn’t really add much to the story.
