That was a lot of talking.
Whilst she attempted her best to listen fully to the professor, she had gotten slightly distracted by the Chimchar perched on her shoulder, only just managing to try to think about what the professor had said after. Lots of words, however, she thought that she had managed to catch them all- or at least, the ones that were important for her.
Moving over to one of the free terminals, she had made sure to include all the important information. Grinning, she managed to finish it rather quickly, looking over to the next station, heading over. "Picture thingy? Hm, alright.." Preparing to move her Chimchar off her shoulder, she let out a soft scoff as she heard the Fire Type let out a grunt of protest, followed by a whine. "Oh Arceus, fine then.." Letting out a small chuckle, her hand went to ruffle the slight fur on the the Pokemon's head. Both her and her Pokemon had pulled the same pose for the picture; tongues stuck out, with Ruth barely managing to not laugh until the picture was taken. "Awesome!" She laughed, taking the card that came from the machine.
"Now..."
Her eyes had went over to where the starter Pokemon was. It'd always be good to have another member on the team. Her uncle had told her about the three Kanto Pokemon, along with revealing a few pictures of them. Charmander, Squirtle and... Bulbasaur. Lots of people liked Charmander, from what she could remember- and so did she! But, she also wanted to be different. That left the Water Type and Grass Type...
"What'cha think, Athena? Grass or Water?" Watching as the Pokemon tilted its head to the side with a gentle, 'Chim?', it blinked innocently, as if it was trying to think. It took a few moments, but the Fire Type eventually put one finger up. "Grass?" A determined and content nod came from the Chimchar; happy that the trainer had understood her.
Going over to the starter area, she had hesitantly reached out before taking the Grass Type's pokeball with a small smile. "I guess now we have a new friend on the team!" She chirped.
