Aldon was adjusting the cuffs on one of the coats on display when he listened to Carter explain his situation. He looked over at the paper that Carter gave him. It was the Davy's measurements. Dolan had hoped to have done it himself, but he didn't need to do so now.

"I see... Sounds like you really got your hands full then. And a really good opportunity to seize. Keep me updated on your berry progress. Might be an interesting investment potential. As for me..." Aldon paused to think about it for a moment. He put the coat on a hanger, and placed it on the rack. He scratched his chin.

"It's going quite well for the most part. Contests are interesting. Though there are some areas that could use some work here and there, but the eagerness of this year's students gives joy to see. I think there is going to be a few promising coordinator potential in this year. I got a decent handful of new members. As far as the Good Life Club is concerned... One student joined to lose weight, another joined bulk up, two joined for better skin care and one joined to be more self-confidence. As far as the Coordination Club is concerned... I got a few battlers wanting to improve their battle strategy and of course coordinators for contests and occasional person just looking to have a better bond with their pokemon. It's great...! but I rambled on enough" Dolan finished. He heard Davy talk about how Carter nearly threw out his back. Dolan wasn't sure if Davy was exaggerating or serious, so he took it seriosously.

"Oh no...! After a horrible accident like that, sounds like someone could use a good chiropractor. Like I tell my good life club members, morning stretches go a long way. Helps keep you limber. It will at least help minimize minor injuries in situations like that" He said clicking a pen. He began taking a few notes.

"Western touch... I like it. It suits you. So how are we doing this? I got some clothes and accessories to choose from, and I got some materials if you want something custom done. Though for that, I'll need to get measurements. your pick" Dolan said closing one eye and holding up measuring tape at Davy as if measuring his bicep. He already knew his measurments, thanks to Carter's good work. Though now he needed Carter's measurements, and Dolan still had his measurement tape.

"I remember seeing square dancing back in Kanto...! Sadly it's not a dance style I have down well yet, but it was a fun little party. I think they called it a hoedown" Dolan said chuckling to himself. Room looked over at Dolan before resting his head back down. Hank was laying on top of Rook, whom didn't seemed to mind the ghosty dog laying on it.

VV was on a different plane that day, having just flown back from her home region, having participated in a contest in her hometown, and visiting her folks. After all, she had an image to uptain, keep throwing coal into the fire. Though, this would probably be her last tour for a while, as she would begin to focus more on making new choreography and strengthening "the gang". Having been given notice of the field trip ahead of time, her desination would actually be for the safari zone as well, landing shortly after the school's groups arrived.

In a hurry, she jumps off the plane (after it was grounded and safe of course) and makes a dash for the local pokemon center, renting a locker out and shoving her backpack of show outfits she had, as well as her guitar. Realizing she wasn't wearing the school uniform, she grabs the uniform jacket and throws it on top of her current outfit. She had pretty much changed out of her show outfit immediately into what was a more comfortable fit (yet still her style) before getting on the plane, and was unprepared for the scholarly setting. Still, at least with the jacket, people would know she's part of the academy. She only hoped she wasn't too late, though the idea of hunting down fellow students in the safari zone instead of pokemon sounded fun to her as well. She wasn't reallly looking to add anyone in particular to the gang, so she was fine just being there for the ride. As she runs towards the entrance, she sees a small group of students wearing familiar uniforms. "YOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" she exclaims as she runs at a rather alarming speed. "Johto... Academy.... yeah? Names Victoria, but you... can call me VV" she says between pants as she quickly gets her breathing in check. Running from the pokemon center to the gym was the first workout she had done that day, and didn't even stretch. She was glad she didn't get a cramp or anything.

Dewey the sobble

Elliot opened his eyes, startled by a raised voice. He caught the tail end of what happened and when Noah looked at him confused Elliot shrugged.
"What did you do?" He asked with an amused smile.

Elliot followed his friends to the safari zone gates. He had read the rules in the brochure, and explain them to Dewey, but neither looked happy about being separated.
"Honestly Noah, I don't feel good leaving Dewey. We've never been apart, not since I found him."
When they got to the desk Elliot tapped one of the attendants on the shoulder.
"Um, excuse me, would it be okay if, maybe some other pokemon could stay out of their balls to keep Dewey company? I don't um, I don't have a pokeball for my pokemon."

He glanced back at Noah. "Maybe Tails could look after him?"

Once it was settled, and Elliot promised for the twentieth time he would return for his pokemon, he was finally confident enough to leave the front desk.
Elliot looked at the pokeballs in his hand and on his belt. The rest were tucked in the backpack he brought. He beamed with pure excitement, holding the pokeballs as if they were precious gems.
"I've...never held a pokeball before..."
His eyes sparkled as he glanced back at Noah.
"Come on! Let's go!"

Laughing, Elliot started to run, whooping and jumping like it was the best day of his life.

Turns out there was one other person who seemed almost as energetic as he was.
With spikes and fishnets and black nails. She was probably one of the most intimidating girls Elliot had ever seen, but he reminded himself not to judge people by appearances.
"Hi VV, I'm Elliot! First year. You wanna come with us?" He gestured to G and Noah. "That's okay right?" He asked his friends.
Elliot grinned. "Hey Noah, maybe we should choose letters for our names too."

Meanwhile, Dewey stared out the window of the front desk, already missing his partner.

As Carter mentioned the hat, Davy looked over and-...

He couldn't bear to take the hat back from Carter. He was just too cute wearing something like that. "Hmm, maybe..." He tried to keep a thoughtful expression, but his cheeks were starting to pinken. "How do you look good with any hat you wear...?" He asked, then looking away as soon as he blurted that out, his blush darkening.

Thankfully, Dolan's little explanation of what he's been doing and his clubs saved him from being too embarrassed by distracting him. Dolan's advice for stretches had a creeping, amused smile on his face. As Dolan moved on to his style, he hummed in thought. He... Didn't know where to start besides the essentials.

That's when he remembered those brave people with the leather fringes along their pants and shirt. "Maybe some leather... Things? I don't know what they're called, but..." He pulled out his phone and found a picture of someone wearing that, their hands clasped to a red flag as a Paldean Combat Tauros was in mid-charge. He showed it off to Dolan. "Something with those things out the sides of my sleeves and pants would be nice."

Kanto had square dancing? He looked at Dolan with a weird look. "I didn't think Kanto had square dancing. Odd." He then shrugged, smiling at the mention of a hoedown. "Yup, that's what they called it." He shifted his focus to Carter and the glint in his eye returned. "Ohhh yeah, here." He swiped through his phone to find a video of it. "You normally dance with six to eight others. But there is another kind of dance called a line dance. There are so many variations of it, too." He found a video of a square dance and showed it to Carter, complete with music and jovial laughing and singing in the background. It looked like it was taken in Almia. Once that was done, he swiped and a video of a line dance was playing done by a country musician and his band from Unova. "We call that particular line dance the Watermelon Crawl. Oh, I'm sure you'll be able to crush it. Among other dance styles, it can be quite simple, it just has quite a few steps, and then it loops."

He waited to see what Carter thought of it before humming to himself in thought. "I could demonstrate it..." He spoke aloud to himself, looking around for a stereo because he knew his phone's speaker couldn't get that loud to feel the vibe of the song to properly dance to.

Back to Azu, the little Polka Dot Pokemon looked at the bone club with awe. She looked up at him in confusion when he said his helmet doesn't like to come off. She was a bit confused by that. Was it stuck? Oh no! Did he need to take it off??? Any concern she felt immediately dissipated when he came out with a Cubone helmet that was much too big. She practically disappeared inside of it if she got off her ball, which it did, the helmet clunking to the ground as she fell off her ball, giggling within the skull's confines. "Sooo cooooool. I like it!" Eventually, she popped back up on her ball, the Cubone's paper mache skull wistfully rotating around on her head as she giggled.

But then the worry came back as she peered at Marowak through the eye socket like a Duskull's eye and squeaked, her squeak causing her to jump and the jump caused the skull to hop off. "OH, but your skull helmet's stuck??? Don't worry, I'll get it off!" Not realizing the skull was a part of the Marowak, she jumped towards Ozzy to wrap her tail around one of his horn things and pulled on him.

Ah the Safari Zone, to say that Miiya felt more at home here than some stuffy plane was definitely a safe assumption. She'd been walking around for the better part of a hour or so. Just looking at all the Pokémon, even feeding a few who practically bullied her with cuteness into feeding them some of the berries she had on her. It's not like she couldn't find more. Maybe have Kurai or Nina help her find some more. They were so helpful, and honestly she'd be a quaking mess if she didn't have their pokeballs near her hands at all times.

This casual stroll was bound to run into other people, at least at some point. What she didn't exactly expect was to see two people wearing similar uniforms to the one she does hiding, rather horribly. If she could spot them she was willing to bet most if not all the Pokémon in the area knew they are there but were deciding to A.) ignore them or B.) is playing clueless to taunt them. She was completely unsure as to what they were supposedly trying to hide from so she just shrugged and kept up her walk. That was when she saw it, what they were supposedly hiding from. It was a Chansey, those were rather rare and hard to sneak up on. Though they are typically partners for those in a medical career but they have one thing in common when they are in the wild... They were pranksters and have a habit of being unsuspectingly quick to bolt for a Pokémon rumored to be so heavy it should have been obvious to her that the moment it looked at her when she stepped on a loose stick by accident.

*CRACK*

'Oh fiddlesticks...' Miiya thought as the Chansey made it's best impression of a Arcanine using Extreme Speed to get the heck outta dodge.

"How do you look good with any hat you wear...?"

Carter was not ready for that. He looked away as well, turning a bright shade of pink.
"Ahahaha....hats."
He was glad for the topic turning onto clothes, though only for a moment:

"It's called fringe. Leather fringe." Carter said helpfully, and then had to look away as imagining Davy in an outfit like that just made his cheeks pinker.
He chuckled, putting a hand up to try and cover the bridge of his nose.
"Man, you don't do anything in half measures do you?" It was clear by his tone that he thought this was a good thing.

When showed the phone, Carter studied it intently. Nodding to himself as he committed the steps to memory, but then, Davy offered to demonstrate it.
"Hey yeah! Come on, let's do it together!"
Unthinking he took Davy's hand and pulled him over to an open space.
"I'm sure there's a speaker around here somewhere. Oh, here we go!" He darted over to a shelf and flicked a switch on the device.
"Looks like its got bluetooth!"

Practically bouncing back to Davy's side he shook out his tension and hopped in place.
"Okay Davy, show me your best. I'm talking Top Shelf!" He leveled both hands just over his head to emphasize it.
Carter was excited. He truly loved dancing, and having Davy offer to dance was the best thing he had heard all day.
"Hey Dolan! Get in here! You're learning too!"

Ozzy was about to protest, but the little baby pokemon had already scrambled up onto his head. He sat there for a few moments, as Azu wrapped herself around his horn like an odd blue hair accessory.
"What I meant was, the skull is actually part of my face." He told her patiently.
When the country music began to flow through the speaker Ozzy looked up.
"Hey, you wanna dance?"

The marowak started bouncing in place carefully, so he wouldn't shake Azu off his head.

The air was light with a breeze while Alto was lying under a tree, his eyes were half closed as he peaked at the scant few rays of sunlight that scattered through the tree tops. Some small Pokemon gathered around him, seemingly rather used to the presence of the human despite most other safari guests proving otherwise. Alto looked around and got up, he didn't have his own Pokemon with him, that kind of sucked, they would've liked to be back in nature like this again, maybe he'll take them to Ilex Forest again sometimes.

Sitting up Alto petted a Budew that waddled nearby, skillfully avoiding every potentially poisonous point on the bud Pokemon. The Budew let out a small high pitched yelp and sat down beside the tree as well. Alto yawned and sat up, he remembered that the safari zone provided some food to feed the Pokemon inside, they were rather strange though, it didn't really seem like something that all Pokemon would love. Different Pokemon had different preferences as well, there was no way they'd hang around food they didn't like. He looked at the Budew and the way it sat down, it approached him, and the little yelps that came out of the small Pokemon, then pulled out some of the bait provided by the safari zone along with some berries.

"Haha, aren't you just soooo chill, haha." He said both to himself and the Budew before putting a yellow long berry inside the bait. "Tangy, yeah, uh huh." Alto chuckled again before laying back, as more Pokemon gathered around while he wrapped various berries in the bait.

Soon there was a small circle of wild Pokemon all lured by the scent of both food and flavourful berries, Alto didn't seem intimidated, nor did he seem to excited either though, he simply sat back and petted a few that brushed on his leg or arm while feeding them. Along the smaller Pokemon there were a few that were a tad bit larger, including a pink-ish blob Pokemon. Chansey, it was, though Alto didn't really care for its specific species nor knew about its allusiveness, he looked at the pink round Pokemon's beady eyes as it hobbled up to the human.

"Haha, aren't you a bold one, lil'Kirby thing." He shook the Chansey's nubby little hands before offering the round Pokemon a piece of bait with pink berries mixed in, just like the Pokemon itself. "Oh boy, like, I ran out of the tangyyy, but it's like sweet and stuff, I'm sure you don't hate it." Alto laughed a bit, seemingly at nothing while the Chansey and other Pokemon around stared or ate.

[Andy Watts - Team Strike - The Safari Zone]

"That's real sweet, and neat that you've got so many badges," Andy said with a slight smile, scanning the photos Anna had produced briefly so as to not keep his eyes off the clearing in front of them for too long. Despite his feelings on battling and the students who focused on that above all else, he could respect the drive it took to participate in the regions' various gym challenges seriously, let alone earn as many badges as Anna had managed to that point. "I'm sure you've got folks that are right proud of that, even if they aren't... your folks, necessarily."

His ruddy red gaze snapped straight back to the front when he heard a calm, almost mystical hum that he immediately recognized.

For the briefest of moment, his heart caught in his chest. He laid eyes on the elusive beast he'd spent the better part of two hours today - and years of his life besides - chasing down once again.

He would've taken a beat to thank the stars for this stroke of luck, but he refused to hesitate. Andy snatched one of his remaining safari balls from his belt and rose quickly, pulling his arm back and preparing to heave it with every ounce of strength he could muster.

Before Andy could make the fateful toss, another sound broke his focus and drew his eyes, the loud snap of a nearby branch. He panicked, bringing his gaze back to the Pokemon, who was already turning tail. He threw the ball hurriedly, missing the mark by a wide margin, not that it would've mattered if the toss were online. By the time it left Andy's hands, the Chansey was well out of range, its immense speed kicking up a residual dust cloud in its wake.

He paused for a moment. His arm, which had been cocked back for another throw, slowly lowered in defeat.

Andy turned a blazing glare to the direction the sound had come from, his ire landing on a white-haired student, seemingly a few years his younger.

He inhaled, but he could feel his fist clenching in an attempt to expel the anger he felt bubbling up into his chest.

Andy took a few steps toward the student, silently at first.

"D'you have any idea where the bloody hell you're even at right now?" he asked, not loudly, but with an undeniable sharpness. "Are you just wandering 'round for a sight see or are you actually here to do anything with the time? Or maybe you just wanted to get away from campus for a bit, yeah? Because I truly find it extremely fucking hard to believe, if you were here to catch Pokemon, you'd be wandering around on two left feet like a Slowpoke with fewer brain cells."

It seemed more words caught in his throat, but he stopped himself from loosing them. He chucked the safari ball in his hand at the dirt, letting it bounce off the ground with its trademark ding and roll away into the brush.

Frustration and tears were welling up, but he quickly blinked away his eyes' wetness.

"I'd ask you if you had seen any more Chansey on your way over here to bugger my catch but I don't suppose with your awareness you could even remember how we got here this morning, yeah?"

Anna turned around, quickly stowing away the book as she heard the noise. "Huh?" she asked as she heard Andy's resentful rant. Is that how I sounded? She shook her head at the thought. "Yeah, ¿Qué demonios?" she added. "Why do you hafta be so damn LOUD?" she seemed angry that Andy was angry, as well as the added rage of someone ruining the fateful moment that he had worked so hard for. She approached the newcomer with her fists clenched. "Don't you have a hint of an idea what you're doing?!" She continued walking threateningly over to her, raising her hand in the process.

desktop-wallpaper-hoodie-cute-anime-girl-iphone-hoodie-anime-girl.jpg

She watched the Chansey fade into the distance not even registering the boy who was hiding terribly in the bushes until he got closer. She tilted her head slightly taking a step backwards away from the offending stick. She wasn't sure why the boy was so upset that was until she registered all the words that spilled out of his mouth. She opened her mouth a few times to respond but the angry edge in his voice cut at her each time she did so. All that seemed to come from her was a light sniff as her eyes welled full of tears. She really didn't mean to scare it away but he was so scary that she couldn't say a single word. She didn't have Kurai or Nina with her right now cause the buttons on the pokeballs in her sleeves weren't working not for lack of trying either she must have clicked at them twenty times each at this point. Now the girl was heading over and now she looked angry too. After moments of standing there as tears slid down she just lifted her hands to her hood and pulled it down farther over her face as she quietly sobbed and dropped to her rear end hugging her knees and continued to cry. She wanted Nina's hugs and Kurai's nuzzles and they'd make the angry people go away.

"Well to be fair, it was in Viridian City, so they may have gotten it from Johto" Dolan said shrugging to Davy's surprise. He snapped his fingers, pointing at Davy.

"tassels. I've worked with tassels before, I think I can work something for you." Dolan said. He then turned and chuckled at the look on Carter's face.

"If you turn any more pink, I may have to find you a matching pink suit" Dolan said light heartedly. He watched Davy attempt to get Carter to dance and laughed. Nearly choking when he mentioned him join in.

"Me?! My dance classes haven't really prepared me for this dance style..." Dolan said awkwardly standing up. As Dolan mustered the confidence to try join in, Hank slid off the side of Rook, hitting the floor face first, but rolling onto his feet as if that happened on purpose. Hank was eager to join Azu and Ozzy. Hank swiveled his hips side to side and wagged his tail before bouncing on his hind legs and bobbing up and down.

Now that Bodie was at the Safari Zone, she needed to find some pokemon. Armed with a net, some rocks, some pokeballs. She was ready to get zooming. Eyes peeking through the tall grass. Pokémon far and wide. Flying above, crawling around, burrowing below and swimming in the distance. As she made her way through the grassy fields, she spotted a few pokemon. None of true interest. Occasional oddish. Cute, but not her target. She was after something far bigger.

As she made her way through some Trees, she found herself face to face with the worst kind of pokemon. She found herself looking at a small pond. She threw a rock at it, but outta nowhere a head pocked up from a land down under. A big stupid ugly beak faced feathery monstrocity. SMACK! It's black beady eyes stared and and no doubt judged her harder than she was judging it, and she had just struck it with a rock. It gets worse. It always does. A second pair of eyes, matching the first pair, began looking at her too. Two on one. This was the safari. She was not allowed to battle them with Banjo. Banjo would mess those ugly birds up, but she was without the use of her pokemon until she left the zone. She took a step back. Another rock in hand. BOOM! She bolted for it. Through the trees she ran. it gave into chase.

"AAAAAAAHHH!!!" If Banjo was here, you'd be the one running from meeeee!" Bodie yelled, running. The two headed bird gave into chase. Lunging herself into the tree. Climbing higher and higher. The bird nipped at her feet. Bodie stuck her tongue at it, but was nearly pecked in the face as it leaped nearly twice its height into the air. She leaned back and slid down the tree and ran again. She grabbed onto a large blue tree and began to climb. She went higher and higher without actually climbing. Wait, what? That wasn't a tree, that was a heracross...! The bug leaned its head. She covered her head with one of her hands, wincing in pain.

"Owwwww..." Bodie muttered, but she didn't let go of the bug.

"EEP!" Bodie yelled as she saw the bird again. She tried to desperately climb the bug as if she was going to stand on its head. It turned and placed her onto a branch to get her off of it. The bug turned towards the bug, dropping from the tree and stomping down on the necks of one of the doduo, forcing the bird to the ground. With its horn, it pushed the second head to the ground, and grabbed it with it's hand. It pulled as if it were attempting to rip the head off and using it's horn as leverage. The bird just barely managed to somehow get loose and flee. Bodie reached for a pokeball, but paused. Instead she went for a pokeblock. She held it out. The bug stared at her. It calmly walked up to her, and tightly grabbed her hand. With it's other hand, it accepted the pokeblock. It let go of it's grip. As the creature ate, it did not notice Bodie's other hand press a pokeball against it's chest.

One wiggle. Two wiggles.... .... .... Ding!

She reached down to pick it up, but the pokemon emerged from the ball and it's horn struck Bodie in the face, giving her a nasty nose bleed.

"Oaf!" Bodie yelled, falling to the ground. The bug looked down at her, walking towards her menacingly. She had to move her foot out of the way to avoid having it stepped on. When the pokemon got close, it extended it's hand out again. She realized it didn't even finish the pokeblock before she caught it. It must have dropped it as it was put into a pokeball. She grabbed it, and gave the heracross a second pokeblock. It tightly grabbed her hand, so she could not pull it back. It accepted both pokeblocks and ate them both ate the same time. It smiled at her cheerfully.

"Herra...! Herra!" The bug said. Bodie looked at it. Her lip quivering, and blood still dripped down her nose.

"I'll name you Rasmus" Bodie said. She leaned forward, and patted Rasmus on the arm. Rasmus sat down, and Bodie patted her on the head. Bodie's question now was, where were the others...? She wondered. Surely she didn't wander off that far.

[Andy Watts - Team Strike - The Safari Zone]

The newcomer's reaction wasn't quite what Andy had been expecting. Though, he wasn't entirely certain what he'd expected, truthfully.

Andy stood in silence for a few moments, watching as the newcomer dropped to the ground and started to cry, hugging her knees to her chest.

"I uh..." he started, though he didn't know what he wanted to say. He was still livid beyond belief, but he felt a pang of guilt somewhere beneath the surface of his rage.

He cast a sideways glance at Anna, uncertainty written across his face. Most of the time, people had the resolve to shoot back at his vitriol with some kind of response. Maybe it was a Motostoke thing.

He took Anna's elbow lightly, pulling her aside and leaning in to speak with her.

"So... d'you think you can talk to her?" he asked, a visible redness rising to his cheeks. He couldn't help but rub the back of his neck in embarrassment, though it was more at her reaction than his own behavior. "I, uh... I'm not so good at this type of thing. We can't very well leave her here, yeah?"

Anna watched Miiya kneel to the ground impassively. "I don't care either way," she whispered, trying to keep her anger in check. "But I can if that's what you want." She seemed a little embarrassed by her own actions, but that might've been due to Andy's interference rather than her own hindsight into the matter.

So Anna slowly walked up to the newcomer, still appearing a little pissed, but not too much so. "Hey. Are you okay? I didn't mean to scare you, Niña." she held out her hand to help her up. "Sorry about that. I, uh, get a little heated sometimes."

Hah, Carter's nervous 'hats' comment had Davy nearly snorting in amusement. Hearing it was called fringe (only for Dolan to call it tassels, leading Davy to believe Carter's word first), he slowly nodded. Tassels, fringe, whatever, they worked. Hearing that the dance likely came from Johto had Davy looking at Dolan with a raised eyebrow.

While Davy tolerated many people and usually gelled well with them, this didn't mean he wouldn't put more trust in someone else's word over another if the latter got confused in their answer.

Granted, he might forget tomorrow.

Hearing Carter saying something about half measures, he looked over at him in confusion. "Half measures?" But then Dolan interjected with teasing Carter, which had Davy chuckling softly in amusement. Well, seeing Carter in pink might actually suit him.

That's when they quickly moved it on to dance because that's where his heart laid. Seeing Carter study the dance so intently had him chuckling, admiring that focused look on his face. But seeing Carter jump so quickly to dance had Davy surprised, and not only was he terribly pink on his tanned skin, but he was also dumbstruck.

Davy was a sucker for a man with confidence. Dolan had quite a bit of confidence, but he didn't know if it was due to theater or his actual self confidence. Still, it was what made Dolan attractive, but he didn't really think the man was into men anyway. But seeing Carter, who already looked smitten with Davy and the big man knew that and was super sweet with him, wanting to dance with him and imbue this level of confidence-... Well, he didn't know what to do with himself.

It was, for a lack of a better term, hot.

Honestly, he was both glad and a bit annoyed that Dolan was here, but it was probably for a good thing. He didn't want to be here after curfew and he was sure he and Carter were going to embarrass themselves to kingdom come and back if they were alone. So, he was greater part glad and relieved Dolan was here to cut into that and make it feel more natural.

Once Carter found a speaker and tried roping Carter into it, Davy laughed seeing the man suddenly dip from his normally enthusiastic bravado - making him wonder even more if it was all just an act or if dance just wasn't a thing he got into often.

Carter's verbage of "top shelf" had him staring at the man with mild level of confusion, until he realized it was probably slang for "do your best" or something. He laughed, seeing this man just absolutely beam at being able to dance had him feeling so great. He was able to make him this happy just by teaching him how to dance?

That... He didn't know how to think about that, but he felt great!

"Alright, well, most of the work is in your legs and hips, supported by small movements with your lower back and core. Your arms are supplements to what's going on down here to bring it all together. I think it actually came from folk dancing with the whole tap dancing stuff. Anyway, the Watermelon Crawl." He shook his head and went to showing the Watermelon Crawl.

Hooking up the song to Watermelon Crawl by Tracy Byrd and throwing on the vest he had put on earlier, his embarrassment melted as he began as he let the calm, yet upbeat country song put him into the groove, his legs shuffling as he stepped forward with one leg, tapped the tip then sole on the floor, shuffled back with a smooth bounce, shuffle his other leg forward to do the same, and then did a rocking lunge back and forth - kicking his feet out - as he clapped to the beat of the song. Stealing the hat back from Carter, he put it on his head as he smoothly side stepped to the left, then to the right, then slid diagonally forward with hands on his hips, shook his hips, then slid back where he was, his arms coming up and a hand grabbing the rim of his hat as his hips rocked smoothly in a circle to the beat of the song. As the singing came back, he took a step forward with a smoothly spun 180 degree turn (his vest waving from it), then took another step forward, turned smooth, and did it all over again facing 90 degrees to his left.

The song conveniently got a bit faster, but anytime they finished the diagonal slide, there was that hip rocking, and he laughed as he let the song take him in the dance. "I bet this dance would look even better with the leather fringe." After one of the diagonal slides, he even added in a slightly twirl with a circular hip rock, very close to singing to the song but kept his lips shut because Dolan was here.

Azu squeaked upon Ozzy telling her that the skull was actually not an accessory, but his actual head. She chuckled a bit. "Oh, hehe... S-sorry." But! He wasn't mad, so that was good! Hearing the song of Davy's people, she bounced off Ozzy's head and danced as well as an armless baby could do, squeaking and laughing happily. "Show me your moves, Ozzy-mon!" A purple, hairy dog with a candle on its head came over and Azu just about squeaked the soul out of her body, but upon seeing he was actually just being really sweet, she warmed up to him quickly and giggled, dancing along with the Ghost-Pokemon.

Modeled after this dance more:

To the song:

I was driving thru Almia in late July,
On a day hot enough to make the Numel sigh.
I saw a homemade sign,
Written in red:
Ch'cole Village Watermelon Festival ahead.

Well, I wasn't in a hurry, so I slowed down.
Took a two lane road to a one 'mon town.
There was a party going on when I got there.
I heard a welcome speech from a small time mayor.
He said we got a hundred gallons of sweet, red wine,
Made from the biggest watermelons on the vine.
Help yourself to some, but obey the law.
If you drink don't drive, do the Watermelon Crawl.

When the band started playing, the watermelon queen said:
"Let me show you something that you ain't never seen."
She grabbed me by the arm, said "come on let's go."
She dipped down, spun around, and doe-see-doed.

She rocked back on her heels, dropped down to her knees.
Crawled across the floor, then she jumped back on her feet.
She wiggled and she giggled, beat all you ever saw.
Said "this is how you do the Watermelon Crawl."

She said we got a hundred gallons of sweet, red wine,
Made from the biggest watermelons on the vine.
Help yourself to some, but obey the law.
If you drink don't drive, do the Watermelon Crawl.

Well, if you're ever down in Almia round about July,
If you ain't in a hurry, then you oughta stop by.
I can guarantee that you're gonna have a ball,
Learning how to do the Watermelon Crawl.

Well, we got a hundred gallons of sweet, red wine,
Made from the biggest watermelons on the vine.
Help yourself to some, but obey the law.
If you drink don't drive, do the Watermelon Crawl.

Do the Watermelon Crawl.
Have fun you all.
Do the Watermelon Craaaaaaaaaaawl~.

Miiya continuing to sob, didn't seem to hear the girl speak at least at first but seemingly on what seems to be instinct her hand latched onto the other girls and she sprung into the older girl clinging to her. "M-M-Miss R-Raven, I-I wanna go home... P-Please." She's shaking quite literally like a leaf attempting to stay attached on a tree for dear life in a hurricane. "Nina... Kurai..."

"Don't do that," Andy muttered under his breath, the only thing he could think to say as he watched the girl spiral further into helpessness. He couldn't bring himself to look at the girl directly, choosing to avert his gaze but remaining near Anna and the newcomer who was clinging to her.

"You know we probably shouldn't just sit here if you're going to be that way, mate. There's bound to be dangerous types about," Andy pointed out, finally speaking up, but without the whip-like sting of his previous scolding. "We can... maybe we just go back to the gate and wait to go home, yeah? D'you figure that's alright?"

He knelt to cut a less imposing figure for the frightened student, but kept his eyes lowered and his expression unchanged. For all the failures and mishaps he'd run into today, the guilt that racked him now wasn't making things any better. It may well be best, he thought, if they found their way back to the gates.

Cricket will know what to do, too, Andy thought. His partner always seemed to be better with emotions than he could hope to be.

Anna put her arms out in surprise, but slowly embraced Miiya back, looking a little sad herself. She didn't really know what to do here, either. "Yeah, I think it would be better if we went to the entrance and sort this out there," she said gently, trying to lead her in that direction and looking at Andy helplessly behind Miiya's back. What do we do? she mouthed to him. Anna continued to lead her away from the area.

Miiya seems to shuffle along with the older girl with very little resistance. She has stopped shaking at the very least but she doesn't seem to be finished crying. At this point it may have soaked through the older girls shirt of not a least created quite the puddle on the ground. Her steps are rather slow and hesitant but she is easily moved and navigated even in her rattled state.

Dolan's teasing only served to make Carter pinker, and worse was, he didn't even have the cowboy hat to hide under anymore.

Just shake it off Carter, here's your chance to really impress!

Carter fell into step beside Davy, watching carefully and mimicking the moves. The dance may have been new, but a lot of the steps were very similar to other styles of dance. Soon Carter was repeating everything perfectly, and then he began to play with it: He let the mood of the music loosen his stance, he started to add a few more fancy steps.
All of a sudden he jumped to dance across from Davy, mirroring his moves with a confident smile, showing off and having all the fun doing it.

"I think this dance was made for fringe." Carter replied with a laugh. "Maybe I can sneak this track into the playlists for homecoming."

When the song neared its end Carter was adding much more flare while still keeping in the country spirit of the steps. He was having so much fun he completely forgot to be self-conscious, laughing and showing off as much as he could.
When the music wound down Carter gave an energetic whoop, and jumped up to punch the air.

"Ha! I haven't had that much fun in a while...though, I guess I haven't danced like that in a while." He looked over at Davy with a smile of genuine gratitude.
"Thanks Davy."

He sighed as the energy began to dissipate. "I suppose we should get you that outfit now huh?"

Ozzy danced as well as his trainer, or, as well as his short legs would allow, but it was clear that years of contests had refined his skills. He swung his tail and moved into the steps as easy as breathing. When Hank joined them Ozzy made room for him, and all three of them danced together.

When the song wound down Ozzy sat on the floor happily, legs out and feet still wagging to the beat that echoed in his head.
He glanced back at Carter with a wistful smile.
"Haven't seen him this happy in a long time." the marowak remarked.

[Andy Watts - Team Strike - The Safari Zone Gates]

Andy led the trio's way back toward the Safari Zone's gate, his earlier anger having by then dissipated into silence. He was clearly crestfallen, contending with feelings of shame that weren't particularly helped by the sobbing girl Anna had taken involuntarily charge of.

The entire situation drained him, Where he'd entered the gates driven by a singular goal, full of confidence as he tended to be, now his steps were more sluggish, his gaze locked on the ground a few feet before him, hands buried in his school uniform's pockets. What he'd come here to do wasn't the easiest thing, to be sure, yet having two opportunities to snag the partner he'd longed for just about as long as he knew he wanted to go into medicine slip through his fingers in the same two-hour span was a failure all his own, even if the white-haired brat had mucked up his second attempt.

And, he knew it as well as Cricket and his other Pokemon did, Andy wasn't entirely sure how to navigate failure. He'd so consistently managed to avoid it in the past that it always felt alien to confront.

When the three students finally arrived back at the main gate, Andy quietly pushed his way through the throng of visitors eagerly entering the Safari Zone.

"I'll be back in a sec," he muttered to his companions, only giving them the briefest of looks and slight nod before making his way back toward the area where staff held visitor's Pokemon.

He first spotted a sad-looking Sobble looking longingly out toward the Safari Zone, though he wasn't certain he'd ever seen the Galarian species not upset about something.

Andy nearly tripped over what had originally looked to be a rock in his path from his peripheral vision, though when he looked down inspect the object in earnest he recognized Agatha, the moody Torkoal that had been by his side for almost as long as Cricket. He'd never seen her crack a smile in that time.

"Sorry 'bout that, love," he said as Agatha emerged from her holey shell, warm steam rising from her back and nostrils as she glanced up at him with eyes barely opened. The Torkoal huffed a jet of warm air at him, as if to reprimand his lack of awareness.

He knelt and patted her head as an apology. Before he could ask if she'd her teammates, a flash of fluff fluttered past his head at speed, turning back a few moments later to greet him with a heart-shaped snout. Cricket floated down to eye level, not sporting his usual dopey one-fanged smile. The woobat seemed concerned, lightly booping his trainer with his snout.

Andy didn't deign to address his partner's concern. "My time is up but I've got some people dragged along here you might wanna meet while we wait, yeah?" His team had always been the more social bunch, though Agatha shared his preference for solitude generally.

Cricket squeaked an approval just as Syd, the ever-elegant Sylveon, strode up proudly, brushing his head against Andy's hand and twining its tail around the trainer's arm. Andy couldn't help but crack a small smile, patting the Pokemon between the ears.

He returned to Anna and Miiya with his team in short order.

Cricket, upon noticing the sobbing girl, turned to his trainer with a great, and apparent, deal of disappointment written on his fuzzy features. Andy felt redness rush to his face and couldn't bring himself to look at his partner.

The woobat turned his attention back to the young girl, fluttering slowly toward her and bumping her cheek with its iconic snout, nuzzling its fluffy body against the girl to offer what comfort it could with its limited anatomy.

"I 'spose you'll be wanting to get your own pals back too, yeah?" Andy asked Anna and Miiya both, though the suggestion was more targeted to the sad student tagging along with them.

During the walk to the entrance Miiya's tears seemed to have lessened by quite the substantial amount. A soft sniffle here and there but the girl has started to get herself put back together once she peaked out from where she had her head shoved into the older girl not wanting to look at the angry boy. Her eyes were bloodshot and she let out a slight whine at the soft nuzzles of the fuzzy bat-like Pokémon. She reached up a shaking hand and put out her finger to the flying puffball gently petting it's fur. It was a few moments of this and she released her hold on the older girl seemingly much more comfortable with the cute fluffy bat than the humans in the room.

"C-cute... *sniff* and S-soft too..." Her sole focus seemed to be trained on the Bat-like Pokémon. "O-oh," She moved across the room and grabbed her bag from the cubby she put it in and came back her hand rummaging around in it for a moment a wobbly and small smile appearing on her face. "H-Here... Have a treat." In her hand a small chewy looking ball that looks slightly like a mini marshmallow but is burned brown in color. "I made them myself... Kurai and Nina like them too."

As if his name was a word of mystical summoning a black and yellow four legged blur came out from seemingly nowhere and brushed against her side. It's red and black eyes gazed stoicly forward but seemed to put himself between her and the other humans in the room. The Umbreon seemed to notice the recent distress of Miiya but it knew better than to interrupt her when she was paying attention to another Pokémon.

G couldn't make eye contact with Noah, the blush in her cheeks still hadn't worn off and she refused to have to say what exactly happened in the airplane. The only communication was her warning looks at Elliot to not say anything, which thankfully, he wasn't. After leaving her Pokemon, saying long and over dramatic goodbyes to each one of them, G joined the rest outside and inside the safari. Not being with her partners, specially her Sneasel, made her feel defenseless and on edge. Yet, she refused to get near Noah, standing next to Elliot instead.

"If anybody sees a cute Pokemon or an ice type, let me know." She informed the group, refusing to look at them. "Did you bring snacks? I brought gummies and water, stuff that doesn't smell too strong." She said as she looked through her bag. Just as they were to embark on their little adventure, VV caught up to them. G couldn't help but glare at the new arrival. She had to admit, VV had a great sense of fashion and was stunning, which sent a chill down Elizabeth's spine. "Hi, welcome!"

The gamer girl quickly shifted to Noah's side, wrapping her arms around Noah's free arm, as if claiming her territory to the new face. "I'm G, I love your outfit." Like a snake trying to hypnotize her prey. "Are you looking for a group to go with or something?" G's cold words left her lips, but she needed to know what the new girl's intentions were, friend or enemy. "Me and Noah are going together." She paused for a bit, remembering Elliot was there also. "And Elliot." G's icy blue eyes analyzed the girl, scanning for anything suspicious. "Do you have a date for the dance yet?" She had to know if she was trying to steal her nerd.

Anna took her Pokemon from the employee as they exited the Safari Zone. She took out them out and released them from their Pokeballs, Apex included. She looked guiltily at Chonkers. "Sorry buddy, but I'm gonna have to let you go from the team," she said heavily. "I'll miss the memories we had together, but I'll make sure to spend some time with you when I can." Her eyes grew moist as she stood up and walked to the PC, putting Chonkers into its Pokeball. She put the ball in the receptacle on the computer and typed out a few commands. After that, the ball disappeared.

Anna turned away from the PC as it brought her immense guilt just looking at the thing. Mic Check bounced up to her and gave her a big hug, which Anna barely received it. Shortly after, Mic Check hopped over to Miiya and started to comfort her, and Razzmatazz started to do the same.

The woobat eagerly gobbled up the chewy treat Miiya offered, squeaking with delighted satisfaction all the while, ignoring the crumbs that became stuck in its thick fur.

" 'Is name's Cricket," Andy offered gently, kneeling down to give his partner a few pats of his own. He cast a cautious glance at the Umbreon that had emerged to stand between Miiya and the others milling about. "Just about as good as they come, that one. Remember your manners, mate."

When the fuzzy flying sphere had finished enjoying the treats Miiya offered, he gave another series of kind squeaks and nuzzled the girl's cheek, as if in thanks. Andy nodded, apparently pleased.

Now came the difficult part. Normally he would've simply left Miiya to her own devices, now that they were safely out of the Safari Zone, but he'd seen - and felt - the disapproving glances Cricket had given him every now and again, in between its attemps to calm the crying girl's nerves.

Andy sighed heavily, locking his intense red gaze directly on Miiya. It was as cooly focused as ever, but one could detect a bit of strain, an effort to summon up some semblance of softness and warmth.

"Y'know, I... ought to apologize for acting a bit of a prick to you, yeah?" Andy started, the words coming with some effort. "I've had a rough go of... some things I've been wanting to get done for a long time, and when you kinda butted between me and that goal, I didn't take it kindly."

By then, Cricket had fluttered back to Andy's shoulder. Behind his back, the Pokemon nudged him sharply with one of his wings.

"I'm sorry," Andy added, with some difficulty.

[Syd the Sylveon - Team Strike - The Safari Zone Gates]

As regal as Syd always seemed to appear, waltzing about proudly and in full recognition of just how effective his cute charms were on those around, something finally stopped him in his tracks.

The Pokemon had been making its way over to the crying girl, not necessarily to provide comfort at that point, but to see what the commotion was about. Syd supposed it had something to do with his trainer's rough edges, given the way Cricket had been glaring at him.

Before Syd could reach the white-haired stranger, though, he paused. Blinked once, twice, three times, dumbly. He was struck by another Pokemon there with the sad girl, a graceful shade of pink, a puff of hair in the same tone, a cute charm all its own. The Wigglytuff hadn't taken notice of him yet, its attention trained on cheering up the human.

Even so, he felt compelled to meet this strange Pokemon. Syd strode up to the Wigglytuff, head held high in confidence and grace, but eyes depicting a nervousness to make a good first impression. The sylveon pawed at his fellow fairy type to draw her attention, greeting it with its mystical
meow-like cry.

Miiya smiled warmly at Cricket and tuned into what the angry boy was saying to her now that he was using a more calming voice. Her eyes darted to the Wigglytuff and strange dancing duck Pokémon that came to say hello to her her hand subconsciously dug back in her bag and she offered treats to them both with one hand while the other lifted up and brushed the crumbs out of the little bat's floofy fur. She resigned to listen to him until he finished talking. The hand that brushed away the crumbs slowly moved to her Umbreon's head and she began to pet it's head and nodded her own head.

It took a few seconds for her to sum up her thoughts but she replied, "I-It's okay... I-I'm sorry t-too... M-maybe I... Can help? I have s-some crackers t-that the Chansey back in my home town likes..." Her hand again dives in her bag as if possessed and pulls out a simple package of pink wafer crackers. "T-They smell slightly sweet when opened and they m-might help attract one to you? Usually Pokémon are more at ease if you feed th-them. At least that's how I do it..."

Kurai's steely gaze locked with Andy's the moment he looked at him but it didn't make any movement at all. It stood like a silent warden that was until Miiya's hand landed on its head. It's body visibly relaxed as if it has now to be okay with the humans closest to its person. It's eyes drew from the crowd up to Miiya rubbing his head into her hand making a soft and happy sound finally sitting down instead of standing. It's eyes closed once Miiya's hand left it head to offer the crackers to the human in front of them. It's ear flicked at the sound the sylveon making a cry but other than that it didn't make any other movements as if waiting.
