Looool it IS super funny when they evolve! But baby Pokémon always feel much more natural in PMD settings (probably because most of them are just living about their life, and not hyper-trained to be combat veterans, and baby Pokemons are under appreciated!) (final evolutions all have such an intense aura! LOL!)

Speaking of evolution, Castle was always meant to be an Arcanine in my head, so this 'rendition' of him is actually a younger version of it (and him being an Hisuian was a decision on the spot, and I LOVE IT). He was much older in one of my stories, with his suave and confident side being more prominent. I would play an Arcanine version of him if I could, but I love this younger version so so much as well equally!!!

And yes, Clara evolving into Glaceon=instant brownie points with Castle!!! I suspect most of the characters probably wouldn't evolve for a very long while (or the entirety of this rp), but somehow I can easily see Clara being the earliest to evolve and having an existential/identity crisis before it/because of it!

I don't intend on having Clara evolve soon, like you're saying, but she is genetically predispositioned to evolve more readily than practically everyone else here, so I do agree that if anyone were to evolve this rp, it would probably be Clara. It also would 100% cause her to go into something of an identity crisis. Not only is her body changing, but her entire typing is changing! I suspect regardless of what she evolves into, there's going to be a sharp learning curve where she has to adapt to her new body and type, and all the little quirks that come with.

My top picks for her are Glaceon, Leafeon, Sylveon, and Umbreon, simply because those are the color schemes I don't mind the shiny versions of too much. I feel like Leafeon or Sylveon evolutions would be good for plot hooks, especially, but Glaceon would give her a bit of her own identity.... the choice is tough.

I am going to have faster progression in this RP, than traditional RPs. Because I think it is a mistake to have progression in writing-based RPs slow-rolled. Even 1 arc can take real-life months to get through... while that is not a lot of time in character, it feels bad to write for that long and not get anything new for your character. Or at least I want to try something different, haha. After every arc, everyone gets something new to add to their character. For the first arc, I was simply going to reward everyone with a new move. But, we could see evolutions as soon as at the end of arc 2!

Heya everyone! I am planning on kicking things off tomorrow. I will be accepting sheets throughout the first arc - if you have not yet had time to complete yours. We will be falling into teams relatively quickly before our first event kicks off at full speed.

If everyone is happy with our teams, they will be as follows :
Team 1: Slick, Castle, Vexer
Team 2: Yamp, Clara, Humble Shipper
Team 3: Stella, Mauve, Momo
Team 4: TBD if it will exist. If fewer than 2 members, there will be one or two teams with 4 players.

You can decide on a team name now, or wait until their compatibility is tested to decide on a fitting name.

Personally I don't mind where Mauve gets stuck, dynamics will be dynamics either. But as it stands:

I think Mae and Momo would get along decently well. They grew up on the same isle so maybe they'd have similar childhood memories of the best places to visit on the isle? His tendency to pickpocket would be highly accepted by Mae, who is used to doing the same. Ofc, only if they needed to, as she'd try to avoid stealing from random mons and just shopkeepers, someone who can avoid to lose out a little. One point of contention I see is his dislike of water types. I think of Mae noticed him being particularly rude towards them she'd scold him for it, since y'know, can't pick what you're born as. Unless there's a deeper inner reason, though that'd be up to him whether he'd share it or not. I do see his chaotic nature as being a step above her own, and while Mae does enjoy some shenanigans, she'd also like some peace here and there - maybe we can get some chill vibes from an otherwise chaotic duo.

For Mae and Stella, I'm not 100% sure. I think Stella's tendency to run away from conflict would be an interesting thing when meshed with Mae's tendency to not back down from it. I can see this being a point of confliction between the two, as Stella would insist it's the smart thing to do and Mae would get exasperated/annoyed. As it stands there's not many similarities the two share as they come from wildly different pasts, so Mae would struggle to understand her (especially since humans don't exist to her and she's never heard of em) so getting along would definitely be tough. But not impossible, depending on character arcs and personality changes if they do happen.

Me personally, I absolutely adore Raider.

He's so sweet, I absolutely adore his backstory! I low-key hope him and Mauve meet at some point. They share the similarities of being outsiders in Ebonshade and growing tough to defend themselves from bullies.

I do love that despite that, he still stays kind and has a good heart. Another good boy to add to the good charts I do say.

You probably weren't added to a team because you didn't ask to be part of one yet. Yamp, Clara, and Raider were set to be on a team by us who play them. You just gotta talk to people!

You didn't even finish your cs, so I think that was why

Because I have issues with taking delays, I'm only starting on my character (which I promised) now... and I hate how the classics which I love (Alola-pix and Riolu) are both available. They are both among the cliche of the cliche for PMD, but I love them both. One part of me wants to go with a huffy 'princess-like' Alolapix, and one part of me wants to go classic Riolu, and a third part wants to go with something unexpected.

No worries. I only put people on teams who had a finished profile. Team 4 is intended for newcomers or those who have not completed their profiles. I plugged in Humble Shipper because those three are coming into the RP as a group.

Only reason I gave him suckerpunch is because it's an egg move. His other moves at level 10 would be Sand Attack (If we were going with the most recent version of the games), or the other egg moves that are thrash, last resort, and endeavor. Sucker punch just seemed the most fitting

I think we agree that bite is less of a staple than sucker punch, regardless of when they're learned. Sand attack is also an option. And decidedly more useful and funny here than its in-game counterpart :]

So uh...is that a yes or a no to sucker punch? I'll have to rewrite his backstory some if I need to change it. You should also probably specify what moves are allowed/disallowed for future reference. Like if egg moves and tm/hm moves aren't allowed

Vexer would love the name sounds fearsome they would have a problem with Smiles and Stingers sounds too cheery

I like Ghostbound Blitz, though optionally Soulbound or Heartbound for something that's not type specific

I also thought of Team Spirited or Team Valor. Optionally, any strong virtue that speaks to spirit has a nice ring to it imo.
