Cybernetic Princess.
Vaila submitted a new role play:

Parahuman - Parahuman: A human-animal hybrid, or chimera, often due to scientific experimentation.

On November 13th 2008, the government of the United Kingdom had the 'Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act' approved by the monarchy. The Act essentially stated that it would be unethical to add animal DNA to a human embryo and then allow that embryo to be carried to term, essentially creating new species. This angered many of the scientists working on projects because it limited the work that they had been hoping to complete. It is, in a way what started everything, because...

Calla dashed through the trees as quickly as her legs would carry her, her tail brushing against her ankles as she ran. The dress she was wearing was plain white like all the other uniforms that the parahumans wore, but it had gotten torn slightly on a bush and now there was a large rip from the bottom of the dress at her knees to the middle of her thigh. As she ran, she called out to a shape moving somewhere to her left. Her feet were bare and frozen in the snow, but she had to push forward. She needed to find the others and keep as many safe as she could. It wasn't long before she reached a stream. She stepped into the cool water, a few degrees warmer than the snow, and crouched ready to run again at a moments notice.

Kitty watched for a moment at what had been her home before running into the woods, her ears twitching and her breath was visible. Her tail swished as she ran, for as much as what was happening, she enjoyed being outside in the open air where she belonged. She heard a familiar voice and rushed toward it, finding a river. She panted, seeing Calla in the river. "Calla," she called, "don't run. It's Kitty." She held her hands up and walked toward Calla, her white dress swaying with each step.

"Kitty," she said in relief. "I'm so glad you're ok! Are you hurt?" Calla ran forward to the edge of the stream and put her hands on her shoulders. She didn't wait for a reply and continued to ask questions, her brain running at a rapid pace. "Have you seen anyone else?" she asked, looking around as her tail twitched. She scanned the surrounding tears, her ears twisting to check out surrounding noises. "I thought I saw someone running with you, but I couldn't be sure...." she trailed off and then looked into Kitty's eyes.

Kitty shook her head. "I'm not hurt, just a small scratch," she pointed to her cheek next to one of her signature black stripes, "but I haven't seen anyone and I don't know who you're talking about. I came alone." She looked worried. "Why, did you see someone?"

Calla looked around. "I can't be sure," she said softly. "I don't even know how many of us made it out...." She paused for a moment, and sucked in a deep breath. She could still smell the smoke from the burning base in the air and it made her cringe. The smell was tinged with a rusty salt smell and she knew it to be blood. "We need to find the others," she said again before running one of her pale fingers across Kitty's cheek. "They might be injured."

Kitty nodded. "Oh, I can't think about what's happened. It's horrible, but I want to forget it. To not remember the screaming and the scared faces begging me to come back and help them." She put her face in her hands. "I couldn't help them. I had to get out." She wiped her cut, licking her thumb and wiping away the blood. She shook her head, ridding the memory. "Where could the others be?" she wondered aloud.

Josef looked either way quickly and ran after them "Calla! Kitty" he called after them, not fast enough to catch them up. He stopped under a tree and leant against it, panting. Suddenly a net dropped on his head "Aargh" he screamed, being pinned to the ground "help! Help!"

Kitty's head whipped toward Joe's screams. "Joe," she said, running quickly toward him. "Where did the net come from?" she asked frantically, taking some in her mouth and using her teeth to cut through.

Calla ran alongside Kitty towards Joe as he screamed. As they tried to free him, she looked around at the surrounding trees for any sign of movement. "Probably an insurance policy, incase some of us escaped the blast," she said softly so only the two of them could hear. Her tail twitched as the wind rustled the leaves around them and snow began to fall to the ground. "It's going to get colder, we need to find others," she stated and bent down to help tear the net to pieces.

Kitty grunted, working hard. Her tail was stiff and her ears kept moving to scan for any noise she wasn't sure of. Once the net had a large hole in it, Kitty pulled Josef out of the net, brushing him off. "We need to go," she said, shivering.

" we....we shouldn't be doing this" he stuttered, his voice not working properly in the cold "we will get into trouble. Remember the last guy who tried to escape? We never saw him again afterwards" he bit his lip in fear

"We don't have a choice," Calla said softly. "They bombed our home, destroyed it. They killed so many of us, we can't stay here..." she continued and scanned the surrounding forest again. Breathing in deeply through her nose, she ran her hands up and down her arms to create friction. "Have you seen anyone else?" she asked him suddenly after a few moments silence. She didn't look at him as she spoke, her red eyes watching for any sign of movement.

""Another group ran up to the north" he dropped to his knees "I'm hiding" he entered his protective armadillo shell and fell to the floor

Calla crouched down by him and whispered so he could hear her. "If we stay here we die," she said, then looked up at Kitty. "We need to hide off compound."

He's tuck his head out "die?" He looked worried and conflicted at the same time before standing up "fine" he sighed "I'll run"

Calla smiled at him softly and held out her hand to him, to help him from the ground. "Thank you," she said to him, her tail swaying in the wind. Her head snapped to the left suddenly and she let out a loud yipping bark.

A plane flew over the area that they are in.

________________

"Ok guys you need to jump now!" The pilot said as the doors opened and snow flew in as they went out. John jumped out of the plane as more followed and parachute opened as they started to fall into sky lower and lower as the first few started landing. John hit the snow and almost fell in the cold it his ears first he pulled off his helmet and threw over his cloak feeling the heat hit him and he put back on his helmet. He started to roll up his parachute as he could hear the plane engine less and less. His radio kept putting out a sound as tin foil being scrunched up, he heard no one on the radio it bothered as he felt he was off course.

Calla's eyes widened. "Move, now," she hissed at the two of them and began to run away from the falling parachutes. Her breath was coming out in misty puffs as she jogged, her tail swishing back and forth in the wind. The snow was beginning to fall heavier as they moved through the forest.

He yelped at the falling men and scampered after her, narrowly dodging several tree branches on the way

Calla skidded to a stop and froze, staring at the man in front of them in the snow. The fence was about 500 metres away from him, but she wasn't sure if they should risk it. He was the first man that she had seen who wasn't a scientist, and although she knew he was dangerous she couldn't help but be fascinated.

"Is......is that an outside human?" He skidded to a stop behind her, his eyes trained on the man in fascination

"Yeah it is," she said softly and began to creep along the tree line. "Dont draw attention to us," she whispered to them, hoping thr soldier wouldn't notice them

Alex was snarling with every step. Every time he would move his right leg the pain was unimaginable. He tried to mentally brace himself for it just before he’d move it, but he failed to picture how horribly painful it really was every single time. It was as if with every step someone was dragging a rough blade through his lower thigh. It was a wound he had taken during the blasts when a large piece of metal had dug into his leg, he had hoped the pain would die down when he had gotten use to it or maybe the extreme cold would numb the nerves but nothing succeeded in making the pain less severe. The cold in fact made things worse as he was dragging himself through snow. He held his arms across his chest the fur on his forearms creating additional warmth, but he was already feeling fatigued from the injury he sustained and the over baring freezing weather.

He was blindly walking forward through the snow now, a trail of blood following him through the snow. He growled and snarled through the pain, unable to even open his eyes. He kept pushing and fighting, but the pain and bone chilling weather was beginning to beat him. He fell to one knee and then pushed himself up, he took a few more stride before he succumb to the fatigue collapsing forward into the snow. With a grunt and a vociferous howl of pain, he managed to roll onto his back, he was panting and gasping at air, his large right hand gripping firmly the wound on his right thigh was now warmed with blood. He managed to open his eyes for the first time in what felt like hours, starring straight into the sky as the snow fluttered down. Something else dotted the sky, and he could faintly hear an engine far off in the distance, but he was too delirious to make any sense of it all. He crawled his way to a tree, and rested his back against it before returning to clutch the open wound. Raising his head to the sky, he let out a long howl. The howl, though loud, was weak and pitiful and took the last of his energy at the moment. His eyes fluttered shut as exhaustion took him, his breathing beginning to relax and become slower, before all he could feel is the soft snow as it landed on him.

Kitty ran after them, stopping behind them. "He looks different," she whispered. "I can't see his face, though. We should stay and fight," she said, clenching her fists. "They can take away our home but not our spirit." Her ears twitched and she sniffed. "Smell that?" she asked, turning around. "Calla, what is that?" Her ears twitched and she ran toward the howl, her thoughts only on who could have made that as she got down on all fours, which she found running quickly much easier.

Calla spun, hearing the howl and began to sprint. As she ran through the trees, she let out a howl in reply and barked out a yipping noise. She skidded to a stop when she found him and knelt before him, placing her hands on either side of his face.
