Apologies for the massive block, but these are the references for three of my characters

Roulette has my favorite references out of the three. Anyone can make references to Greek or Norse Myths, not everyone can think to make references to English Language Poetry or Aesop's Fables.

I applaud your creativity.

Now I'm gonna do a list of all of my characters and their references.

Glad you like Roulette's references.

He was the hardest to find literature stuff to refer to since I limited myself to poetry, short stories and fables.

Restless Dreamer:
  • For Starters, Dreamer's real life persona is inspired by my own experiences as a Trans Female, and their desire to become the best PKer is an allegorical fever dream for my journey to become the "greatest artist" (Whatever that means.)
  • Their design is based on various forms of Garou from One Punch Man, namely his awakened form, and his spiral form. (For reference, see pics below1667191814924.png1667191850331.png
    1667191908529.png
  • Her hair color was inspired by the color of N.O. energy from FLCL, but also from Spiral Garou.
  • Her cloak's design is based on the geometric designs that are frequently present on the clothes and bodies of characters from the Zelda Series, specifically Twilight Princess.
  • Her Racial profile is mainly inspired by Garou as well, especially her class of "Absolute evil" which is what Garou calls himself, more prominently in the webcomic, during his fight with saitama.
  • All of her Job classes are based off of Garou's powerset, except for Super Sadist, which is a direct reference to Do-S, from OPM. Who's name literally translates to Super Sadist.
  • The Cosmic Horror special class is a reference to Garou's final form, in which he receives a power boost from God. Though I guess that also makes it an indirect reference to the works of HP Lovecraft?
    1667192072264.png
  • Complete Arsenal is a reference to the superpower of "Complete Arsenal" I got the idea from Rimuru Tempest and, as much as I hate to say it, Najimi Ajimu. I should note though, that this isn't an admission that she has every conceivable power. Since she lacks knowledge of any spells, and only happens to have the most skills of any player in YGGDRASIL. I should also note, that majority of the powers she has are either redundant, or have skill requirements that supercede her build. She also has a limit to the amount of Passive abilities she can have active at any given time, to prevent her from being able to assemble a superversatile build that can't be defeated due to possessing no weaknesses.
  • King of All Monsters is a reference to the One Punch Man Character, Orochi, The Monster King.
  • Reflexive Learning/Supreme Copycat/Perfect Shakkei, is a reference to Cosmic Garou's ability to copy other's powers, even if they're things that can't reasonably be learned.
  • Aura of Cosmic Horror is basically just King Engine from OPM
  • Energy Flow Sense is another reference to Cosmic Garou
  • Impact Absorption is a reference to the USJ Nomu from My Hero Academia.

  • Coiling Defense is a reference to one of the techniques that Biting Snake Snek uses in One Punch Man.
  • Inertial Multiplier is a reference to one of the Quirks possessed by All For One in My Hero Academia
  • Acid Booster itself isn't a reference to anything, but the name Toxic Chainsaw Bakaneko is a reference to the mentioned-but-not-seen character, Toxic Chainsaw, from My Hero Academia.
  • Regeneration IX itself isn't a reference to anything, but the name Purestrain True Vampire Lord Honyopenyoko, is a recursive callback to what "Momon" calls Shalltear, when explaining the situation to the other adventurers guild members during the Bloody Valkyrie arc.
  • Regeneration Focus is a reference to Boros, from One Punch Man, who possesses a very similar ability.
  • All of her martial arts grandmaster skills are references to various fighting styles from One Punch Man
  • Absolute Evil, Godslayer Complex Fist is a reference to the ultimate fighting style of Awakened Garou
  • True Life annihilations abilities are almost all ripped straight from Boros and Garou, with the exception of Infinity Big Bang Storm.
  • Infinity Big Bang Storm is a reference to the named attack preformed by the Antispiral in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, in which they smash two Supergalaxies together and attempt to erradicate team Dai Gurren "Down to the last strand of DNA."
  • Her Meta Skills are a reference to Metamagic from DND
  • Her Unsorted skills are too numerous for me to list them all here. If you want a certain skill explained, I'll tell you exactly what the reference is, though.

Fever:
  • Fever's appearance was inspired by a few things
    • Her Hair color is meant to be the same as RD's.
    • The details of her outfit are designed to resemble the attire worn by The Beatles on the cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Prince on the cover of Purple Rain, However the addition of the cape and the military hat are both references to M. Bison from Street Fighter.
    • The decorations on her left breast are meant to resemble the decorations worn by the Starmen from Earthbound
    • The lines on her face are a reference to Cyberpunk 2077
  • The story about her being born from RD's lowermost ribs is based on the story of Adam and Eve
  • Her abilities are mainly references to Giegue from Earthbound and Nyarlohothep from the works of HP Lovecraft
  • The Coat of purple rain is a reference to the inspiration for her outfit's design.
  • The Jewel of the Blind Genius God is a reference to Azathoth from the works of HP Lovecraft

Capuchin Hunter Killer:
  • Capuchin's character design and name are expied from a webcomic that I originally had plans to make, called "A Little bit of Cap and Molly" in which he's a yakuza-style gangster paired up with a Bright Eyed Everygirl named Molybenium. His name is significantly less SFW in the comic, or it would've been, if I had actually made the comic. Here's the original pic I drew up for their designs:Molybemium and Capuchin Hacker Fucker.png
    • His design itself is further a reference to Platinum sperm from One Punch Man:1667194947494.png
    • His suit is a reference to the one worn by Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza 0
      1667195102964.png

Cyrette
  • Cyrette is based on a character from an unpublished webcomic I workshopped about a Men In Black Agency that hunts down Supernatural Beings from internet horror stories. Though her original design is significantly different than the one that got used here.
    Cyrette Casparr.png
  • Her regeneration abilities are in turn, a reference to Zombieman from OPM.
  • Her Ability: Lynchpin is a reference to the Lynchpin from BlazBlue
  • The naming conventions for all of her weapons are a reference to the naming convention for the weapons in BlazBlue

Not really. Certainly caught my interest with the references, but otherwise no other questions really

Do you think the current Floor Guardian Roster could take on the five Shub Niggurath's Young that Ainz summoned during the battle of The Katze Plains?

Despite the fact that they're LvL 90, they seem to have a high physical resistance that most weapons below divine likely cant piercd and a defence higher than Ainz. They're fast, inflict fear and pretty smart as well according to the wiki.

Honestly, I'd believe in the chance at wonning against 1 or 2. 5... is likely going to be an absolute hell to fight with both sides taking heavy injuries and maybe casualties on the floor guardian side.

There are some pretty gnarly things in store for the dark young. I don’t think it’s that one sided.

For starters ainz’s main focus when it comes to defense statistics is magic defense. Ainz’s physical defense is a 70 we know the numbers for levels increase exponentially in power. (Ie; a level 100 warrior player can generally beat a level 80 warrior player without much trouble in a random encounter.) depending on how much higher their defense is, the dark young could likely have anywhere between 80-100 physical defense, but there’s no real telling. The fact that they’re level 90 leads me to believe it’s probably on the lower end of that scale.

On the floor guardians side, we also have some particularly significant actors to keep in mind.

On the seventh floor, we have Capuchin, who’s likely too fast to be hit by any of the dark young, they were able to outrun horses, but horses in the new world aren’t particularly impressive by Yggdrasil standards, and additionally, the dark young are massive, so you have to factor in how much they’re moving in perspective. Capuchin is a lightning bruiser. Meaning he has a good balance between physical speed and damage. Even if he can’t take down one on his own, I don’t doubt he could definitely take down one with help.

We also have Grand Mechanica. While I don’t know if she’d be extremely useful in this fight, even just using her Taurus Battlesuit grants her a comparable strength to Goldmember and Lady Payne. If the group has prep time, that’s another story entirely. Depending on their time and resources, I can see Grand Mechanica playing a major role, and possibly even taking on one of the young solo. It’s definitely in her bounds to build some sort of mecha to fight one Man to man, and it’s been established in our canon that giant mecha did exist after the Valkyrie update (RD mentions Arcadia had a giant mech called “MegaBazingar”)

I don’t know if Sea Queen (Tentative name.) will be able to help much, since she’s a little bit on the tankier side, and if they’re fighting on the Katze plains she wouldn’t be able to use any of her water control abilities.

Lady Ophelia Payne is probably gonna be the MVP with or without prep, due to a large number of her abilities nullifying attack types, or just being all around monstrous to deal with. Not to mention, her main weapon is a world item which can preform attacks comparable to the super-tier spell fallen down. I’d say she could definitely take one of the young on her own.

The lack of special powers as possessed by the dark young make me think that Cyrette isn’t a non factor in the fight. For starters, she has the best range out of the group, and beyond that, her massive arsenal of weapons, some of which are divine class, leads me to believe that she could deal some serious damage to the dark young, even if she couldn’t defeat one all on her own. Though they’d probably have trouble killing her off, unless they were to gang up on her, so she could probably defeat one of them in a battle of attrition if capuchin helped her.

The others I can’t really speak for, since they’re either unfinished or tentative canon.

Currently, I’d say it stands at more of a 2.5 - 3 (with prep time.)

I’d bump it up to the full 5 if we include Fever, Goldmember, and Belladonna in the lineup.

Still I think it’d be a good fight at the very least.

Fever especially, since we know the young are intelligent and thus can be effected by telepathic attacks, and have high physical and possibly magical defense, but that psychic damage defense was notably absent in most creatures and builds (the main reason why Fever’s build is so annoying) and her psychic attacks are amplified by a world item.

Kind of forgot my own guardian, Phisele.

Though I guess for her her case, she would more likely end up being thw main bait or distraction by drawing agro. Doubt they have eyes for her petrification ability to work, so she likely has to use aggro skills and her own agility to keep them focused on her without getting hit.

So likely keeping most of the pack away while the guardians focus on a few

Didnt factor her in cause you Made a point that the goats were particularly intelligent so I assumed they might be able to resist her aggro.

Then again. It’s your character, so I’ll take you at your word for it.

That's true. I guess it would act like some raid bosses where there is aggro but it's very short of around a second. Likely in NW it would onlg work once and they'd probably wizen up.

Yeah, you're right. She's basically unable to help effectively against them

She could probably offer some help to Capuchin and Cyrette, even if it’s only a little bit. She has a very high speed so getting hit probably won’t be an issue.

The number will also probably get bigger in the future since I’ll probably have to write a character who’s effectively our Shalltear to guard the lower floors, since I have a feeling Saxon has left the project. And I expect that Galacta and Ishaan will eventually finish their NPC floor guardians. Who may have some nasty or powerful abilities I don’t know of yet.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what they come up with. Will be interesting to see the end result.

Speaking of nasty abilities... yeah I really need to rework my berserker idea a bit now, partly because I'm worried the idea could end up being too powerful
