Orphanage For The Out Of The Ordinary (RP) (Starting)

Pateer stopped following them when he saw them turn their heads towards him. He quickly veered off to the right, stopping as if to look at something so they wouldn't call him out. He waited for them to turn around the corner before he proceeded following them. He would have to be more careful as to not attract attention to himself. He then saw something out of the corner of his eye. A pet shop.

Human imbeciles... thought Arcum, as a group of bustling, pompous business people pushed past him, and nearly knocked him to the ground. He stood up straight and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. A while ago, he had barely arrived at the orphanage when Mr.David took his bags and told Arcum to meet up with the other orphans who had gone out. So he set out into the tedious, irritating world, and he had almost began enjoying himself when this incident occurred. I wonder how they would like it if they were knocked down. Arcum turned around and spied one of them with a Bluetooth on.*bing* The man instantly reached for his ear and in doing so pushed down his companions, creating a domino affect. Satisfied, Arcum continued onward, but was getting too many stares from other people. Great, I come from an orphanage and suddenly I'm a freak show....I am though... imbeciles. Arcum realized the need to get away from the boring stares of strangers, so he slipped into the store nearest to him, a pet shop.

Pateer walked around the store for a while, looking through the cages at all the exotic animals. Might as well get a pet while I have some money he thought, It might make me feel more at home. He saw brightly colored parrots, and scaly, slithering snakes. He pet the bunnies through the mesh wire and let the chinchillas next them nibble his fingers. He turned around, and saw just what he had been looking for! A graceful long mongoose sat sat staring at him through the large parrot cage he was in. He was an odd shade of blue. Pateer turned to the pet shop owner. " Excuse me sir," he started, his Indian accent thick," How much for that little creature there?" he gestured to the mongoose. "So you want that lil' guy, eh'?" Pateer nodded. "Well, lucky for you he's half price. His previous owner got him caught up in a blue dye accident as you can tell. Poor guys hair stuck that way forever, tried almost everything to get it out. Who would want to buy a blue mongoose anyways?" The shop owner scratched the back of his neck. "I would." said Pateer as he held a wad of bills in his hand. "Sold!" said the cashier.

Arcum entered the pet store, looking around at all the cages with the exotic animals in them. I bet half of these guys were smuggled over the border. He bent down to examine a hedgehog crawling around in its cage with its companions. What an interestingly stimulating creature, hello there little one. You don't belong in these climates, for your origins are from the european forests. Arcum lifted his head and looked all around him, all of these creatures didn't belong here. just like me, you belong out of these cages, in the wild...free. Arcum's mediation on his philosophical metaphors didn't last long, for he heard an abrupt rattling of a large bird cage. It was opened by the store manager, with an Indian boy standing next to him. The creature that crawled on the boy's arm was a blue mongoose. wait, blue? Arcum quickly snatched out his phone and took a several pictures at once with it while also recording video simultaneously.
(NO ONE...IS POSTING)

Pateer covered his eyes with one hand blocking out the flashing lights. He held the mongoose in the other. "Who do you think you are? You have no right to take pictures of me!" Pateer glared at the boy holding a phone. There was something about him that struck Pateer as familiar, though he just couldn't put his finger on it.

Misty followed after the others, seeing a pet store in the distance. She smiled brightly as she catches up with her group. "Hey, do you think we could go to that pet store for a few minutes. I just want to look around." Misty has always loved animals, even before she became one herself. She tilted her head to the side patiently, waiting for an answer.

Lily looked at her eagerness and smiled,"Sure lets go", she said turning to walk into the pet store. She preferred to make others happy always. Personally she would rather go to a green house but this was good to. Animals were as innocent as plants even though Lily couldn't understand them.

Arcum quickly put away his phone in his pocket. "S-Sorry" he said to Pateer "Its just, your- um- animal is blue, and, well, yes". He stood there awkwardly among the animal cages waiting for a response.

Misty smiled as she walked into the little shop, looking at the animals inside the cages. She preferred them to be outside but she always thought about them getting to go to a good home, being loved by the owners. She looked around for a second before spotting someone holding a blue mongoose on his shoulder, along with someone next to him. After making sure her animal features were covered, Misty gracefully walked up to the guy with the mongoose, her eyes sparkling. "I love your mongoose, do you mind if I pet it?"

"Um.....ok." Pateer mumbled and held out the mongoose towards her. He looked over the girl's shoulder and glared at the boy with glasses.

Lily observed the two in the pet shop,"You are from the orphanage aren't you?", she asked tilting her head and smiling. She had heard about Pateer and Arcum from Mr. David and thought these two seemed to fit the description.

Arcum raised his hands defensively in front of him at the kid with the mongoose and proceeded to walk around the store." I wonder why such an obviously solitary person would think of attracting attention in the form of curiosity, especially when he has a curious blue mongoose, as a negative thing. I would suspect he would be delighted to let me take a photograph of his interesting pet, but people are people" Arcum thought. He then noticed the two girls that arrived in the store. One had long blue pigtails and the other was an albino and seemed peculiarly feline-like, and both of them were stunning . Maybe these were the people from the orphanage he was supposed to meet up with. "Glad I'm going to be living with this kind of crowd, wonder if they like video games" Arcum thought as he walked over to the one with long blue ponytails. "Uh, excuse me? Hello, are you guys- um, girls, of course you're girls, from the, orphanage, thingy? I'm new- well sort of new, actually yes."

"Yes and from the way you are you must be Arcum", she said smiling at him,"What can you do?" Lily was always curious about the new arrivals and though she had already heard about Arcum she didn't know his power. She rocked back and forth on her heels while talkng to him easily.

"Oh ya, our powers" Arcum thought for a second then asked "Do you have a phone on you or a MP3? Any electronic device will do."

Lily thought for a second then shook her head,"Never needed any", she said shrugging and looking around. There was a clock on the wall that was electronic so she pointed it out for him. She smiled while waiting curiously for his power.

Pateer just nodded and held the mongoose to his chest. He looked down at the floor, not knowing what to say. He was afraid to tell them about his "power". But he was interested in finding out what this strange boy's power was.

"A-alright, a clock" Arcum stared at it on the wall, and soon enough the numbers started changing rapidly. Then instead of numbers there were letters spelling "LILY" They changed again and they spelled "HAHA". "yea, there's not much I can do with a clock, but at least it won't be needing new batteries for the next year, and I increased the brightness of the LED so it can be viewed even when there is a glare from another light source, also it now uses less energy for what it can now do." He changed the numbers back to their correct order and smiled at Lily.

Lily smiled at him,"You have potential. I think you'll like the class where you train and expand your powers", she said happily. She looked at Pateer but he seemed shy so she wouldn't bother him to much. Lily simply gave him a friendly and accepting smile.

"Um, we have classes? Are we not going to go to regular school?" Arcum asked Lily. He worried that the brief visits outside of the orphanage would be all too precious if they were going to also have classes inside also. Exempting the infrequent strolls around the orphanage lot he was expecting to have, those might be the only times when he was not inside of the brown walls of the orphanage."Wait a second, I like the indoors, i thought being secluded was life's only escape, but now that I realize it, this is the first time I have ever interacted with human beings other than my family and the bullies who'd pick on me in years, this is groundbreaking!" Arcum thought as he was waiting for a reply.

"Very few of us are not homeschooled. Even those who have normal school have these classes at the orphanage.", she explained to him. Lily thought about it more,"The homeschooling is better because of the bullies in the public school system.", she said explaining further,"But you do choose." She looked at what time it was,"We need to head back soon or Mr. David will come looking for us", she said to everyone.

Misty nodded at Lily after she finished petting the guys mongoose. "Okay." She then turned to Arcum and smiled a little at him. "Nice 'power' by the way." She wouldn't ask Pateer what his was, he seemed a little, timid. She just shrugged her shoulders and looked at her backside, making sure that her tail was still hidden.

"thanks Misty" Arcum said and he smiled. "And yes, Lily, I think we should go back to the orphanage, in time, or we might get in trouble, you know."

Lily smiled while walking out, right when she walked out of the pet store she had a dark look on her face. She started walking a bit faster,"We should hurry", she said. For once Lily was being serious which usually never happened.

Misty bit her lip as she saw the change in Lily, a sigh escaping her lips as she knew the girl was right. She stayed a few feet behind everyone else like she always did and ducked her head so her eyes were looking at the ground, the stares of the people around making her uncomfortable.

When everyone reached the path to get there through the woods Lily backed up,"They gathered in there, probably trying to ambush us....", she said trying to think on the spot. She was whispering to the trees wanting more information but they didn't know much yet.
