Fantasy Original Species

Isabelle smiles. "It's on the house. And I'm glad you like it." She said while walking over to Sage to talk to her. Sage eating a cupcake.

Robert watched Isabelle walk toward the other girl, "Umm, Im having a dinner party tonight for.. um.. people like us, as long as they're friendly. If you two are interested?" He smiled a little, hoping at least Isabelle would accept his invitation, "It would be wonderful if you came, and I would pay you to bring some of this delicious tea for my guests to drink."

Sage blinks slightly. "H-how did you find out? I-I was hiding mine... And Izzie keeps hers under wraps..." She said softly while looking at him. Isabelle walks back out and looks between them. "what happened?"

Robert looked confused for a moment, "Oh! Sorry." He blushed a little, "Im a Vampire, I kind of have a knack for detecting.. um... specials like us because certain blood kind of... makes me angry.... Although I dont know what you are to be honest. I assumed you were because she's a fairy." He scratched his head, "I hope Im not disturbing you, and Im harmless! I wouldn't hurt a fly... well thats not true, I hate flies, but really Im a nice person."

Sage sighs softly and runs a hand through her hair. "Well... I'm a witch." She said softly while looking at Isabelle. "He invited us to a party." Isabelle blinks. "Huh? Really?"

"A witch? I havent interacted with very many, would explain why I didn't know what you were." He smiled, "Yes, a dinner party. Ive invited a few local others like us, nothing too serious or formal, just a small get together so all the peaceful beings know who they can trust and who they cant. There are few of us who are... not so nice."

"Its up to you Miss Isabelle." He smiled and bowed lightly, "If you do or do not come, I will still be here tomorrow to try your next batch of delicious drink." He finished his tea and put his sunglasses back on, before heading toward his car.

Isabelle blinks slightly as she looks at Sage. "He looks about 26. And I look 17... That a bit weird..." She said softly. Sage snorts. "It is... I'm glad I'm not dating." Isabelle glares. "I don't like him, I'm not dating him Sage. Gosh I was being nice."

He woke up with a start. He couldn't tell how long he'd been asleep, maybe a few minutes maybe a few hours. All tht filled his head was a scream a couple of miles away, his keen wolf ears picked it up. It was familiar, not the scream itself but the style of the scream. It meant they'd found a dead girl in a back alleyway that had been mauled and ruined. He scooped up his stuff and quickly pulled his clothes on before legging it outside, forgetting to pay for the bed, trying to get out of the city as quickly as he could.

Sage just leaving the tea shop now, waving in to Isabelle as she starts making her way down the street. Humming slightly to herself, she blinked as she felt something rush past her and she stopped to look to see what it was.

---

Isabelle humming slightly as she starts cleaning up her shop, sweeping slightly as she smells softly of pumpkin and cinnamon spice tea.

Alicia grabbed his shoulder as he hurried out the back door, twisting her hand in his shirt. "Stay," she said softly, pleading with him. "We can cover for you if you're running from something," she said releasing him. She hesitated a little, rocking back on her heels. "Heaven knows we have enough practice of that," she said softly.

------------------

Kiara returned to her book, listening to Alicia speak with Josef. They wouldn't know she was listening, but she really couldn't help it.

Joe turned and looked at her, his eyes full of sadness and guilt. It was easy to tell just from the expression that this wasn't the first time this had happened. His eyes weren't that of a killer though. There was no anger in them, just eternal sadness, like he had seen all his pain at once and would never get over it "you don't understand. I can't stay" he passed her a small note and looked at her meaningfully "I don't belong here...I should neve have come back. I have to go" and without another word he ran again, transforming from human to wolf as he did so.

Alicia sighed and watched him go. She unfolded the note and looked at it quickly, scanning the contents. In the short time that she'd known him, he'd piqued her interest. He was obviously old, older than most in her back, but there was something so refreshing about how free he was.

The note was crumpled but read in messy handwriting, like it had been written fast, with no real thought to penmanship at all

Meet me tonight if you meant what you said.

The ink was red. As red as blood.

Alicia's eyes widened as she tried to remember what she'd said to him. They hadn't had much of a conversation, only talking briefly about the pack. Looking down at the note, she noticed the red ink and shuddered. It looked like he'd used his own blood to write it.

Robert made it back to his large house on the edge of the city. His guests would start arriving soon, and he had most of what he wanted completed. His cooks threw the last of the rolls he had bought into a warmer, and the cookies were laid out on a platter. He hoped the few new people he had met today would attend, but he would understand if they rejected a party invite from a random stranger.

Robert changed into his preferred clothing in the safety of his own home. He wore a sharp black suit with a red shirt underneath, and his hair was neatly combed to the side. He had always preferred the styles of the 1950s and 60s and was upset when dressing that way had gone out of style. He walked toward a picture of this Master, which he had up on the mantle of his fireplace, "Well Abe, maybe I can restart your dream." He toasted the dead vampire, and took a sip, as he waited for his various guests.

Kiara locked up early, and walked to her house. It was small, quaint, and cottage like but she loved it. Despite the fact that it stuck out amongst the taller buildings. Slipping through the front door she showered and changed into a pale peach dress with long lace sleeves that she much preferred to the clothes that the humans wore. She grabbed the box of red velvet cake and carried it gently with a bottle of wine. Her mother had taught her never to show up to a dinner party empty handed and it had been something she'd stuck to. It was one of her rules, her code that she lived by, and although it was one that she rarely got to use she still kept it. Knocking on the front door to Roberts house, she waited patiently.

Josef snuffled around the vampires house in wolf form, hiding himself in the green bushes so he couldn't be seen from the windows or the front of the house. He hoped the girl would come with her mistress. She interested him, how she had said he could be part of the Pack. How he could be accepted.

Alicia hurried up the drive, following Kiara's scent. She was grumbling to herself about having to wear a dress but Kiara had insisted. So she'd just thrown a simple red dress on and paired it with a some black biker boots. Easy enough but it was already bothering her.

Kiara raised an eyebrow at her and Alicia shrugged. "What?" she asked and Kiara smiled softly.

"Nothing. You look nice," she said in reply and Alicia blushed a little. Together they waited for Robert to open the door. Kiara looked around, feeling Josef's presence, but she didn't say anything about it. Alicia's senses weren't as finely tuned as Kiara's were but even if they had been she wouldn't have mentioned it.

He watched the two from his vantage point in the bushes. He didn't trust Kiara. He only wanted to talk to one of them, not both at the same time. He had been in wolf form too long, it was starting to hurt. It did that if he spent too long as a wolf during the day. He tried to ignore it and waited for Kiara to leave Alicia alone so he could reveal his presence to her.

Robert opened the door and smiled. There were a few others there, other Shapeshifters, Fairies, Half-lings, they were all mingling. "Kiara, Alicia! Im so happy you could make it, your cookies are already all gone." He moved to the side of the door and held his arm out as if introducing them to the room. "Everyone here is peaceful, I assure you. I saw the other man in the store earlier, is he not attending? I assumed he may have come with you."

Kiara shook her head. "I might be fine with vampires, but I'm not a fan of fairies. I won't go out of my way to harm one, but I try to avoid being friends with them," she said with an apologetic shrug as she offered him the cake and wine. "I hope you like red velvet," Alicia said with a smile as she stepped inside. "You have a beautiful home."

He looked pained as she went inside. He'd have to follow. And that meant changing again. Fortunately he'd managed to bring his clothes from earlier with him. He changed in the bush which was uncomfortable to say the least and approached the door, feeling very out of place with everyone else in more suitable party get up than a T-Shirt and, by now, ripped jeans.

"I understand completely Kiara, Im not a huge fan of shapeshifters, the man who turned me was killed by one, it took a few decades to get over that one." He smiled, "If its made by you, Im sure I'll love it no matter what and thank you." He almost closed the door when he saw Joe, "Ah Friend, you made it. Welcome. I am Robert, I did not catch your name earlier, at the Bakery."
