Fantasy Original Species

Robert smiled, "I understand completely." he looked toward Isabelle and Sage, then back to Kiara, "Excuse me Kiara." He smiled to her, then walked towards the other two. "Isabelle, Sage, how are you two doing? Enjoying the get together?" He raised a brow, with the question and looked toward Isabelle and smiled.

Kiara nodded politely, and continued to look around at everything in the room with great interest.

Uri Desick was sprawled all over his couch in his little flat in San Francisco, a modern place with a nice view of the bay. Not bad for someone who didn't look older than 30 and hadn't gone to college. College was overrated, anyways. He'd gotten money through job after menial job, saving carefully, and one day found himself rich. Admittedly it had taken a couple thousand of years and different locations, currencies, and revolutions to get to this point, but he still considered himself relatively well-off. He was still working - he'd gotten himself a job as a bartender - but at least didn't have to do so in as many unpleasant places anymore. Sighing, he picked himself up off the couch and went off to the bar he worked at, for another night of loud, annoying people.

Anwen Rae was dancing around the second floor of the house she lived in, which she'd cleared away and made into a dance floor of sorts. The first floor contained her room and the kitchen and living room, which were both unnecessarily spacious, as she never had anyone over. For while she was greatly admired in whatever school she decided to attend for the next few years, she had no one she actually liked and called friend, and no one whom she wanted to know she didn't have her parents living with her in this large house in the Bay Area Suburb. Waltzing out of there, she took her little bike and rode it down to the store, where she charmed her way into a couple of free items and a lift back home. Yup, this was the life.

"Well they should be staring, you two look absolutely amazing tonight." Robert smiled and winked. "That and we dont have a lot of witches around here. But, they aren't judging you I dont think." he shrugged, "Im not judging you at least." He smiled at Sage, "So how did you two meet? Its not every day a Fairy and a Witch are together, or as close as you two are."

Joe felt helpless in her arms as she carried him to her house. He hadn't felt like this for a long time. Not since the night his mothers pack had killed his brother and he'd been left alone. He shivered, the cold air he usually loved made him feel even weaker. Even more vulnerable.

Sage looks at Isabelle then him. "We met after my parents passed away and I gained my powers." She said while Isabelle nods. "She was 15 and I was well... This age."

Alicia carried him through her front door and shut it behind her. She sat him down on the couch and ran a hand through her hair. "Make yourself at home," she said somewhat awkwardly. It had been a while since she'd had anyone in her house and he made her feel shy.

He looked around, fear in his eyes. He clearly didn't like new places and this new place was inside so he liked it even less. "I'm sorry" his face flushed and he looked down

"I'm sorry to hear that, but luckily you two have each other. It's strange though, you two could pass off as sisters, you two do look alike." Robert smiled and looked around the room, "So how good is the tea business?"

Alicia moved and opened the glass wall up. She turned back and sat down on the couch. "I hope this is ok. I know you don't like being inside but you're free to roam about in the surrounding woods," she said softly with a small, nervous shrug.

"It's fine" he looked at her, his eyes flitting away when he thought he'd stared at her too long. "You don't know who I am, do you? You don't know what the wolf ears mean do you?"

Alicia shook her head. "No idea," she said softly. "Why don't you explain it to me," she said looking at her carefully.

He sighed and looked down "they are my burden..a curse put onto me by my mother. They mark me as a wolf killer and an enemy to shapeshifters. When I was younger my mother fell in love with a human. She kept it secret and when me and my brother were born she hid us too. When we were 17 the pack discovered us. They chased us and we ran away, from them and from our lives. But they were faster. They jumped on my brother, they pulled him back to kill him painfully. I carried on running like a coward but one of their number followed me. My mothers shapeshifter mate. He was bigger, stronger and faster than me but when he pinned me down I.." He choked back what sounded like a sob "I slashed his throat"

Alicia wrapped her arms around him. "It's not your fault," she said soothingly. "You did what you had to do, as we all have. So you're a wolf?" she asked, trying to change the subject onto a happier note.

Sage looks at Isabelle and giggles slightly at the sister comment. "Oh really? How funny. We think we look nothing alike." she said while looking at Isabelle who snorted slightly and crossed her arms. "I don't see it, but the tea business is okay... I just wish I had some more customers you know? It's hard sometimes working alone, minus Sage of course. But we manage." she said as she nodded slightly. (@DrCompton)

"A halfling" he sighed "my father was a mortal" he looked down, on e again oblivious to her touch "the ears remind me everyday that Shapeshifters won't accept me and that no human would want me. I'm stuck in between. Never been accepted anywhere. Always alone"

"Ah I see... Well, you've got at least one loyal customer in me." Robert smiled and looked at the two of them, "you guys should hook up with the Bakery, send people to their shop and they can send people to theirs."

"No I meant your spirit animal. The animal you're forced to take on a full moon. In the pack we don't really use the term halfling.... we use like werewolf or werecat. I'm a werefox," she said with a kind smile.

---------------

Kiara overheard their conversation and waited for a reply, her ear twitching in an attempt to listen more closely. Not that it would make much of a difference, she could already hear the heartbeat of the witch, and the fluttering heartbeat that belonged to the fairy.

His eyes darkened "id rather not talk about it" he looked down "I've told you more than anyone else knows already tonight"

"It's alright," she said with a small shrug. "I'm going to check in with Kiara and tell her I took you back here. I don't need her calling me later worried," she said softly as she pulled out her phone and began to send a text to Kiara's number. It had taken a while for Kiara to get used to phones in general but eventually she'd mastered it.

Isabelle sighs softly. "I'd love to do that... But Sage told me that the owner of the bakery isn't a fan of fairies... Even thought I recommended Sage to go to the bakery to try some of their sweets since she adores sweets." she said while running a hand through her curls, letting them retumble down her back. Sage smiles a bit sadly, "Tea and sweets go together so nicely.. That's why I try to buy something sweet when I go there so I can have some with my tea..." she said while looking at Isabelle.

He watched her hands type, her fingers dancing across the keypad. This time he forgot to look away as he stared. He was so unused to others company but Alicia made him strangely comfortable yet anxious at the same time. He wasn't sure why at this point.

After sending the text, Alicia turned and looked at him carefully. "Do you want to go for a run?" she asked, eager to go out and explore the woods. She was feeling unusually jittery tonight and she had no doubt that a run could ease her nerves.

---------------------

Kiara entered the conversation with a smile. "I might not like fairies, but I'm not one to turn a good business proposal down. I'm Kiara Ryland, I own the bakery," she said, moving over to them and giving a small wave. "Sorry for my intrusion but I felt the need to defend myself. Because I might not like fairies but it does give you an opportunity to prove me wrong, don't you think?"
