Fantasy Original Species

He winced slightly "I can smell them..that means they can smell me" he looked at her "if they throw me out I will have to run" he whispered "you could run with me"

Isabelle gives a thin smile. "Oh how cute you think I'm a mortal. Oh well. Not my problem." She said as she headed back to the tea shop. Sage said nothing as she watched him leave before following Isabelle in.

"They won't do anything unless Kiara tells them too," she said softly as she opened the front door and held it open for him. "But I hope it doesn't come to that."

He looked around himself sadly, before entering the house, shuddering as he crossed the threshold and felt the more musty air of the inside.

"So?" Robert poked his head around the corner, "is he after me, or the dog across the street?" Robert raised an eyebrow and looked between the two as they walked in. "I'm hoping he isn't after me I haven't done anything wrong. Lately. Nothing wrong lately."

Kiara walked through the darkness into her house through the back door. She'd put dinner on during her lunch break and the smell of beef stew filled the house. The pack had already dug in, a fast that she wasn't surprised by as she dropped her keys onto the kitchen side. Pouring a quantity into a silver coloured dish, she placed it on a tray with a pot of tea and a selection of cakes and biscuits from the bakery. She added a small pitcher of lemonade and made her way into the back porch which overlooked the grounds. Small lanterns, each with a candle inside, were dotted around the fixtures above her head lighting the porch in a pleasant golden glow. "I'm out back, Alicia," she said in a calm voice as she heard Alicia enter the house. She took a seat on one side of the table, setting out the items from the tray carefully onto the table. Opposite her were two seats grouped together, and as Alicia and Josef exited the house, Kiara stood. "Welcome to my home," she said politely.

He stared at her and bowed slightly "I thank you for your hospitality" he said, though his voice retained a mix of both coldness and sadness as he crouched down onto his chair

Kiara frowned. "It's quite alright. Would either of you like anything to eat or drink? I have beef stew of you can stick to the cakes if you'd prefer. I also have tea and lemonade," she said taking her seat gracefully.

He frowned at the mention of food "I doubt you would have anything I'd be willing to eat" he looked at her warily "I will go without food. For now."

It didn't took Noer long to disappear from the street into the safety of the darkness provided by the vacant alley. He walked with confidence, his shoes clicking on the ground, echoing the mistreated alley with ease. As he walked, giving the impression of believing that he is alone, Noer soon stopped dead from his tracks. "You can come out now. No point in pretending to hide anymore." he said, his voice, calm.

From the shadows, a silhouette appeared. The moon provided as much light as it could, but it wasn't enough to reveal the silhouette's face.

"Noer Eisenman." the silhouette spoke. "In the name of our ancestors, those who fell and God, we will cleanse you." the silhouette continued, then a bang was heard. Then another one. The feeling of pain quickly stroke Noer as he realized he was shot. Afterwards, Noer heard two familiar sounds, followed by another one. The silhouette was reloading his firearm. With ease, although painful, Noer charged the silhouette and grabbed it by the neck and pinned it on the brick wall.

"It is foolish to attack a vampire all by yourself, especially at night." Noer said, confident.

"Who said I was alone?" the silhouette replied. A bright light appeared out of no where, lighting up the whole alley. At that instant, it burned Noer as the light razes touched him.

With a grunt of pain, Noer quickly ran away, the silhouette, securely held by Noer's grip. Once Noer returned back to the street, he quickly pinned the silhouette on the wall of the closest building.

"Who sent you?" Noer asked, calm, yet his voice was filled with anger. With the help of the street's light, the silhouette's face was now revealed. To Noer's surprise, it was a young boy, not older than 20. The boy smirked wide as he remained silent. Noer, impatient and having no desire to play, looked the boy in the eye and repeated the question. The boy's pupils dilated wide and opened his mouth. "Evelyn. She gave order to kill every vampire in this town." he answered. Noer quickly asked the boy why. "Evelyn wants to kill the original vampire, but she doesn't know where he is, only that he is in his town."

"How does she know that? Who told her?" Noer asked, then heard footsteps slowly approaching from the alley. The boy told Noer that Evelyn, although not sure about the source, believed that an Original vampire was in town. "But why kill me? I have immunity!" Noer asked.

"Evelyn doesn't know where the Original vampire is, so in order to make sure she gets him, all vampires from this town will be killed." the boy told him. "I don't know! I'm a recruit! I don't question orders, I follow them!"

"A hunter follows only his own instincts." Noer said as he let go of the boy and ran away. Despite being wounded, the only thing he had on his mind was to try to warn the Original about this, or any other vampire, out of kinship, despite him being a kin slayer. However, since he didn't knew where he or she was, he went to the only one he knew. Kiara.

"So?" Robert poked his head around the corner, "is he after me, or the dog across the street?" Robert raised an eyebrow and looked between the two as they walked in. "I'm hoping he isn't after me I haven't done anything wrong. Lately. Nothing wrong lately."
Isabelle shook her head. "Not from what I could tell... He thought we were mortals... Well he thought I was. I was tempted to blast him to bits with fire... But decided not too since I didn't hesitate to correct him." She said as she sat down. Sage sits as well as she gets some tea.

"Alright then," Kiara said softly, opening the dish and filling a dish with the stew. She handed it to Alicia who looked at it with excitement. She set it on the table and picked up her spoon, gathering a small portion before tasting it and sighing happily.

"You make the best stew I've ever tasted," Alicia complimented as she swallowed before taking another bite. Kiara laughed softly.

"I remembered that it was your favourite and thought it might be appropriate," Kiara said, pouring herself a bowl. "If you change your mind, do let me know," she said looking up at Josef. Kiara picked up her spoon and relaxed into her chair. "So Josef, tell me about yourself."

"There's not much to tell" his eyes were suddenly alive, a small smile pulling at his lips "I'm a traveller...I run from place to place" he pulled his cap further down on his head "I don't get much opportunity to get to meet people"

"I'm sure that's not true. Were you born or bitten?" she asked as she poured herself a cup of tea.

Alicia swapped her spoon over to her other hand and let her right hand drop to take his in hers, squeezing it in support.

"I was born" he said simply, his lips curling again into a smile "what do you think about me? I heard a lot of stories about you growing up, Evil One"

Kiara raised an eyebrow. "Evil One?" she asked curiously. "I've been called a lot of things but never that," she said simply. "I do not know you therefore I am not at liberty to judge you. And I assure you that most of these so called stories about me are probably false."

Alicia looked at him in surprise, unsure of what he was doing.

"Maybe you haven't met me" he shrugged slightly "maybe you have but you don't remember. You certainly know my mother" he stared at Kiara "you know who I am...you're very calm"

"I know what you are, but I don't know who you are," she said simply as she sipped on her tea. "We are here to get to know who you are. What you are doesn't define you, who you are does. Who you are determines your choices and loyalties. That is what I am interested in. We all have parts of our past that we wish we could change, but we never will be able to. So why don't you tell me your story. From the beginning," she said simply.

He slouched back "very well. I'll tell you the truth. I'm a child of the dark wolf pack. My mother was disgusted by having halfling children, she found a demon that offered to change me and my brother for a price. I ran away and she has been chasing me ever since"

Kiara nodded. "And do you intend to stay here? That is, do you intend to join our pack permanently?" she asked, placing her cup down gently as she picked up her bowl and continued to eat.

Alicia picked up one of the cupcakes and peeled the wrapper off delicately.

"I don't want to join your pack" he looked at her blankly "but I want you to promise me two things whilst I stay here. The first is that you will protect me from my mother because if I fall into her hands it will be disastrous. The second is that you give your blessing to me and Alicia" he took her hand again under the table

"Both of things would come automatically if you joined the pack," she said simply, leaning back in her chair. "We believe that halflings are the future for our kind, and we try to get our members mated with as many as we can but I'm afraid I cannot give you my blessing if you do not join."

Alicia stared at her maker. "What?" she asked surprised.

"I cannot allow you to bind yourself to someone outside of the pack. If things went badly and you were forced to choose.... it would end disastrously for you," she said softly, with regret on her expression. "But for as long as you stay here the pack will protect you from your mother."

"I don't think you understand the position you're in" he stood up and walked round to her, bending over to whisper sharply in her ear "dark forces are rising...my mother once again roams the wild...there have been sporadic demon attacks across the country and the one you most hate is returning to this world" he stood up "I am your packs salvation and protection...give me the blessing and I will help you thwart my mother"

Kiara raised an eyebrow at him. "If Kol is returning to this world then I will finally get my chance to rip his throat out. As for your mother, you are underestimating me. I am far stronger and faster than she. But I am aware of the demons. I was approached by a Hunter of sorts just this afternoon, who was interested in the information I posses. So understand this, unless you join the pack, I will grant you protection but not my blessing. She is my progeny and it is my decision that is final."

"Then I cannot stay" he looked at Alicia sorrowfully "I am sorry...I cannot join this pack" he walked to her and wrapped his arms around her "I will miss you" he kissed her forehead slightly and swept out of the room
