OOC- The Thing [The Reclamation of Creation]

In complete reversal of what I originally said I was going to do, I've now decided on a Slayer Caste Martial Artist, and a Changing Moon Akuma of the Ebon Dragon.
 
Just to restate, I'm going for a Malefactor prophet, wanderer, and Yozi matchmaker in addition to a Full-Moon Akuma to She Who Lives in Her Name
 
Well since TDO has switched to Slayer and I haven't even started my character I will be going with a Defiler.
 
Considering some of the motivations and Urges I'm starting to see come across, exactly how dark would we like the game to be?
 
For me:


Killing good guys - Yes


Murdering an entire city full of innocents - Yes


Having a goal which basically involves turning Creation into hell - Yes


Evil and violence just because - Yes


Rape - No


Incredibly graphic descriptions of torture or brutal violence - No

How dark do you want it? I'd generally prefer no extremely detailed descriptions, but other then that I'm willing to work with the others on.
 
I'm basically with Ligier on this one. Even though Shai'tal's very... focused on lust, he doesn't go in for some of the... darker predilictions mentions in Infernals. This is simply because they don't appeal to him. He enjoys seducing and corrupting others because having them willingly bow down to him and to the Ebon Dragon is incredibly... satisfying. Taking something by force is just so... gauche. Not to mention boring.


Of course, the real reason is because sexual violence and the really dark perversions are one of the few things that really squick me out. Regular violence - eh, no problem. The other sort... ugh. Makes me ill. And angry. And since there's always a certain emotional investment in any character I make... well, it just wouldn't work out.
 
That's about what I thought.


Fade to black works well for those sort of situtations, and we'll work with them.


Regular death and dismemberment will be full glorious vitriol tinted technicolor however.
 
Heh... on the other hand, I have to admit that one of the reasons I took Umbral Panalopy as an artifact is because... well, shadowy tentacles. Yeah. Seems appropriate.

I was going to leave all of that stuff in the "Fade to Black" category, and firmly in the realm of imagination. Nothing more than suggestive motions and caresses, I promise. I'm really not looking to turn this story into porn. It's just fun to be able to imply that the puts his Dragon-given gift to that sort of use, is all.

It's heavily influenced by anime, so it's really not surprising.

Anyway, can I have a Neomah for my Unwoven Coadjutor? Even though they're descended from Malfeas, they're also quite appropriate for Shai'tal.

Edit: Is there a good place to find a list of first-circle demons? Or can we make up one to fit our character? Because I'm having difficulty finding anything under the Ebon Dragon that suits.

You could have


ANUHLES - Spider demons. Hunters and Killers.


CHRYSOGONAE - Weird masks which feed on ambition. They cry at the thought of beuty destroyed or true love betrayed


FIRMIN - Humanoids with bestial intelligence and spiny backs. Sociable with their own kind anf okay craftsmen


MAROTTES - Really long tentacles pretty much just joined together. Is fond of babies but has no idea how to look after them.


SESSELJAE - Tiny bugs that eat corrupted substances. Sometimes used in magical surgery.
 
If you want to make one up, go ahead and spec it out. But I reserve the right to say it's not enough like it's progenitor.
 
I say go with the Marottes, you can keep the tentacles.


As for the whole anime thing, yeah I understand and I even know why they chose tentacles, but still creeps me out that that was what they went to.
 
I would say we have a house rule that any Sourges must have an Amphelisiae as their demon buddy, but honestly what kind of self respecting Scourge isn't going to pick one of these as his Unwoven Coadjutor anyway? They are just the most chilled out, laid back and generally cool demon around.
 
To be fair, tentacles are only one of the many uses one can put Umbral Panalopy to. It's a really neat artifact, and it fits the shadowy flavor of Shai'tal perfectly.


Just FYI, I may not have my Akuma done 'till the end of the weekend or so, I've got a research paper I'm also working on right now. I'll try to have most of Shai'tal up by later tonight or tommorrow.


Also, do you care if I just do the flavor for a demon, if I make one of my own? I confess I have no idea how to make one crunch-wise, and it won't really matter what the stats are anyway.
