Great! What kind of role do you like to have your character play as? A royal? A guard? A servant? A foreigner?

Okay so what about this:
My character is a Princess who grew up in another country. Her parents wanted to keep her safe from rebel threats that have finally been dissolved. Our characters return 'home' around the same time. Your character fought in the war to preserve the royal family and the monarchy. When he comes home, he's told he really has no home at all but because of how well he served the Royal family, he's offered a position as a Palace Guard.

" The Kings-Guard. It's about honor and glory. You men assembled here are to join the most trusted and noble of the Knights of Atresia. You have served the Kingdom well at war, and now your King asks that you protect him, his home, and his family. You will trade in your old armor and uniforms for the colors of the Royal Guard, navy blue and gold. You will wear these colors, and this uniform, with pride and confidence. Some of you may even die in these very esteemed colors in the boundaries of this capital, or in the palace itself. You have all taken the Royal Guard Oath, and now it's your time to follow through and to protect, serve, and safeguard your new home alongside the King. The five of you are war heroes, dedicated and honored, and the five of you are coming home at the same time as Princess Volkov, who has not seen this castle since she was but 10 years old. A lot can change in eight years. We are all here to support her through the transition of moving home, and to ensure her safety and well being at this time. If something doesn't seem right, it probably isn't right. I don't have to tell you men that, though."

"If something doesn't seem right, Adeline, it probably isn't right. If that is the case, I want you to find one of the men dressed in blue and gold armor and bring it to their attention. They will always have fidelity to your father....And to you..." Adeline hadn't been speaking much since she'd gotten home. She felt like a foreigner in a country where she was supposed to be a Princess. She felt like an outsider in what was supposed to be her home. She felt lonely, even though she was surrounded by people. It aggravated Miss Theresa, one of her teachers. "Do you understand Adeline? It's very important that you understand at least that...."

Adeline had stopped walking, suddenly, and she was staring out of one of the windows, her eyes picking up on a garden. She really liked gardens. Mostly, she liked to be alone in them. At this rate, Miss Theresa wasn't going to give her a single second alone. "Hmm? Yes....I understand...." Adeline sighed. She understood that she was a prisoner in her own home. There were even guards to make sure that she stayed trapped.

Morgan Stood straight as the man said those words to him and the others, but one part still stung him: 'war heroes'. He was no hero, He had watched most of his friends die on the battlefield. They never got older, and here he was, still.....it pained him to listen to the man's words. After what had happened, he wondered how he of all people survived, or how he could possible still serve the colors of the kingdom after what had happened.

But he was a soldier, at the moment he still believed in orders. He felt the handle of the halberd on his back, he was the only one of the 5 to have a 2 handed weapon, but it saved his life in the war. If they wanted it they'd have to pry it from his cold dead hands.Halberd.pngMetal meh.jpg
He sighed as he was dismissed, looking around the giant castle. "Blood money bought this place..."

One of the other guards tapped him on the shoulder. "And blood money is buying us a really nice cushy life so keep out of trouble huh? If you ruin this for yourself you ruin it for all of us, got it?" Many of the Royal Guard didn't have a home to go to, a place to sleep, a life outside of fighting and war. This gave them an opportunity.

"And for talking out of line, you two get night watch tonight! Congratulations, fellas." The head guard tapped Morgan and Dominick on the shoulder as he walked by them. "Make sure that you patrol the entire Palace. Inside. And out."

Adeline knew exactly when the midnight guards exchange roles, crossing by her room for one last check just before meeting in the courtyard to exchange weapons underneath the night sky. Adeline waited until just the right moment to sneak out of her door, moving the heavy steel back into place so that she could tip toe down the hall in her night slippers. She was careful about her shadow, careful about all sounds, and careful about scaling the walls until she got to where she wanted to go. The little garden she'd seen earlier on the North side of the palace. She was sure no one had followed her, as she slipped through the gate. She pulled the heavy deep green cloak tighter to her shoulders as a wind chilled her. It was rather cold, but it was worth it for freedom.

"Shouldve kept quiet and let me take the blame..." Morgan said, sighing. Night Watch, exactly what he needed for his first night as a royal guard. He slumped against the wall, watching the darkness, and only stood straight when somebody walked by. Eventually he had to take a leak, so he made a B line for the rstroom.

After doing his business he walked across the courtyard before stopping at the slight sound of very light footsteps. "probably just a 'coon or something..." he said to himself as he started his trek back to his post. He already had bags under his eyes, he hadn't gotten a good night sleep for a few months, before he enlisted into the military.
