OOC (Rebirth of Brilliance)

Actually, here's an important question: Does the experienced Solars option stack with what you get using basic chargen rules, or does it replace it?

It says, "all normal chargen, except..." and then lists the changes. So, kind of both.

I hate the fact that I have to drop four of my Merit points on getting Martial Arts.  Other than that, I'm quite excited about the game and can't wait to see what everyone else is bringing to the table.

Debating whether I want an ultimate bureaucrat Eclipse, or just a more classic courtier. Either way, methinks my PC will come from Prasad.

Of course you are.  Each one is a little gift to the Storyteller, saying "Here is a great way to screw with this character!"

Well, yes. I mean, I think of them more as the player giving me a flag saying, "This is the kind of game/story I want to play.' But, it's essentially the same thing.

I think I have my negative intimacy but I might need someone else's character to be involved if I can't find another good way for it to wrap up. I was planning on my Exalt being on the younger side and may (I can work around it if no one is interested) need someone whose character is older and either could fight decently well before Exalting or already was Exalted before they met him. To be clear, the negative intimacy isn't towards the other Exalt but what they would save him from. Although if no one is interested I can definitely figure out another way for it to make sense without other characters being involved.

I'd be willing to help out, but my character is far from a front line fighter.  Even with my Martial Art technique, I am more of a strike-from-the-shadows kind of person.

That would work. They wouldn't have to be one, just able to kill or drive off a creature from the Wyld in some way.

EDIT: Ooh, if you were interested they could have a relationship akin to a big sister and little brother after that. I do need to add some more intimacies to him. Not to mention having characters connected in some way is always fun.

Well, we do know each other prior to game start, and that would be one way to explain that.  My character gets around; I have a relationship with one character, and a 'little brother' of another.

How about you were doing a job to assassinate Million Blossoms (my character, a former noble) as her older siblings hired her. However, as you watched her closely to find an opening, you actually fell in love with her and warned her, as such you were deemed a traitor and were forced on the run. Mutually enamored with each other, you refused to let go, and so Million Blossoms left her venomous family to follow you in your escape. How's it sound?

I have added a bit of background for my character.  If there is anything about it that needs to be tweaked to fit in with your ideas, let me know.

I do hope I get that new Exalted pdf tomorrow.  I may have to change a Charm or two.

Oh yes. Hit me. Let me see it for sure.

It's melee charm I came up with for shields. It's pretty simple. I don't have any flavor text though or ability requirements thought out yet.

Charging Rhino Defense

Cost: 3m, 2i; Mins: X

Type: Reflexive

Keywords: None

Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Bulwark Stance

The Solar is able to flurry an attack with the Full Defense combat action. The attack must be done with a weapon that has the shield tag.

That's pretty much it. Shield tag already lets you parry Full Defense with pretty much anything other than an attack so I thought it might be a cool charm. Full defense normally costs you 1 point of initiative so that and one extra point of it are added into the cost of the charm. Oh and if you don't already know this shield tag lowers weapon damage by 2 :(

Is there a supplement out?

Is there a supplement out?

Its called Miracles of the Solar Exalted.  Came out on the 17th, I believe.  Not a very large book, but it does come with 80 new Charms to pick from.  If you get the book and pdf combo it is only 10.99 from DriveThru.com

Ooh, how much is just the PDF, and does it come with charms for all the abilities? I want more Lore charms!

Don't know just what Charms it has, just that it has 80 of them.  The pdf by itself is 3.99.

Hmm... Interesting. I'll have to mull this one over.

I've always hated trying to approve custom Charms.  I have this fear that I won't balance them out properly.
