Giant weasels it is, then. Ladies and gentlemen, this might be the beginning of the kobolds' first dragoon squad.
Not sure if there's any stats for that, I personally doubt it. There should be something out there that can be reskinned as a weasel, though... I know that there are stats for goblin dogs, maybe something like that can work...

That makes things even easier - flavor text even says that they're used as mounts. Didn't think about just using the search function... whoops... it's not on the list of riding animals, though, that's what I looked at for costs etc.

I am so sorry I have not been involved!! Seriously- I didn't get any notifications. I am not sure if all my stuff is right just yet but I will finish up his back story and I think I will be very close to being done.

Well the dire badger is close, on stats amd CR rating. Approx 125 gp.

The dire weasel is a 4th level animal companion. I believe.

No worries - the alert system dies at random times, we've all been there before. And no need to hurry, we're not in a rush.
And I got 100 gp and 5 sp left to spend.
I'd boldly claim that this should be enough - more details at some point later or tomorrow.

Aye aye!

Just let me know which one I'm buying so I can put the stats in the CS.

Well, I'm pretty sure that I'm all set.

I do have a strange question for Silanon. Do minotuars in your world have human feet, or hooves? I've seen pictures of them both ways, and I am just curious.

Good question, actually... never gave it a thought. Simple answer: Whatever you prefer.

I'll go with normal feet. That way, I can wear magic boots without having to get horseshoes.
Well of you do go with hooves, we do have a little tinker who could make some for you.

If he can forge a gun barrel, a horse shoe shouldmt be a challenge.

But magic horseshoes need to have all four hooves shod in order to get the bonus of whatever effect they provide. Unless I can double up on them to be able to get some speedy movement bonus?

Well if you only have two hooves, I think it would count as being fully shod, wouldnt it?

Also, I do have animal handling as a class skill. So could probably even put them on.

If so, getting a set of Horseshoes of Speed will add 30' to your base movement. That would help you keep up with other mounts once you hit your Large size, and they are only 3,000 gp to buy.

They are certainly better than Boots of Striding and Springing, which only add 10' to your move, and the boots are more expensive at 5,500 gp to buy.

I think it is half price if we make it ourselves, but still, its a nice discount.

Something like that. Still a hefty discount. Just need to get the right skills.

Which for magic stuff I think I need some ranks in Arcana. And then the crafting skill that would be needed for such things.

Alrighty - there's several questions out there that should be answered.

1.) Should minotaurs be able to profit from some kind of footwear?
Absolutely yes. It'd be wrong to exclude them from any benefit whatsoever.

2.) If Minotaurs have hooves, what kind of hooves do they have?
I'd argue that the whole minotaur-flavor is cow-inspired. Thus, if a minotaur has hooves, those should be cow hooves, not horse hooves. I believe that's how they're usually depicted, too - either human feet, or cow hooves. Why is that important? Because those actually have toes, two of them. Horseshoes won't do them any good, from what I just read.

3.) So that does sound like a bad thing, right?
Imagine a minotaur with cow hooves, he couldn't wear the usual boots, and no horseshoes either. That's sad. And it contradicts the answer for 1.)

4.) So what's the solution?
- either minotaurs have regular feet, and can wear boots.
- or minotaurs have cow-like hooves, and get an alternative.

5.) What should this alternative look like, in terms of game-mechanics?
There's two obvious options:
- they get the benefits just like the boots.
These are meant for PC's, i.e. for someone who moves roughly at a pace of 30ft. No matter how minotaur feet look like from an anatomic point of view, this is where the minotaur still belongs.
- they get the benefits just like the horseshoes.
These are meant for horses. Those move at a speed of 50 ft. For them, +30 ft doesn't mean just doubling their speed. For our minotaur, however, horseshoes of speed might as well read: Take two move actions each turn. I do think that's too much, paying less than any other character in the party would for a lesser effect. I do not want that, mechanic-wise. This is not about the number of legs, it's moreso about the fact that horseshoes are meant for animals, not PC's

6.) So how will the running minotaur keep up with the mounts of the others?
I'm fine creating an item that allows for a higher landspeed out of combat.

7.) So - hooves or feet?
Psychie's choice. There can be boots for feet. There can be greaves, fit for a hooved minotaur, covered with runes that let him run quicker. There's something like horse shoes, just for cows, I believe; Nyx could have something like that if that's preferred rp-wise. But I want them with the same abilities like the boots that the rest of the team wears. I don't want that paying 3000 means suddenyl outrunning a horse.

Thoughts, remarks? Let me know if I'm wrong somewhere or forgot about something, I'm open for suggestions that might sway me the other way.
