"I don't think it is right to stay when I am unwanted and my presence is unasked for," she said, her hands shaking a little, "I worried because I cared. Since I am asked not to worry, I am asked not to care. The best way for me not to care is to distance myself. It is not my place to share a table with you anyway. You've made me realize that."

Her words made his insides feel cold. "I didn't mean that that way, really. I just.. There's too many people treating me like I still have anorexia. Like people won't trust me. I didn't know you would combine caring and being worried", he muttered and rubbed his thumbs together, staring a bit at the table and deeply hoping she would relent.

"You made your choice professor, as I have made mine. I only worry because I care. You deny my worry, you deny my unusual caring nature as well. Take your pick," she said, standing quite still, her food still in her hands.

"I was unaware about my decision making. I consider myself non compos mentis if you could put it that way", he defended himself. "The past has created worry as a sort of tabu to me, unfortunately. It just makes me defend myself and make silly conclusions about it, that's human nature", he sighed outloud and looked her with sorry expression. "Just sit. It was a stupid of me but I could't help myself. Please." He really needed to be on his toes when he was with her.

Clair dropped the plate onto the table and sat down with a huff. She had been rather frustrated with herself in confusion as to why she was reacting to Logan this way. This certainly did not help. She leaned back and crossed her arms across her chest, staring out of the window with an expression just short of a growl.

"Thank you", he said, sounding graceful. He thanked the woman who bring his salad and water, starting to eat and glancing her shaking hands. "I suggest you to eat..."

Clair was tempted to eat, but she simply glared at Logan. "I'm fine," she lied, giving her plate a little shove, "I'm not that hungry anyway."

"So you rather faint in front of pupils and create panic?", he asked retorically and raised his brow a bit.

"I don't have any class in the afternoon," she said grumpily, starting to sweat a little, "I'll just go home."

"Oh. Still, I can't let you go without eating. Your sugar content is clearly low", he said with serious tone. He was stunned by how she acted so... Nonprofessional. She if someone should know how dangerous reduced sugar content can be.

"Fine," Clair said and picked up the juice, "That is enough for me." In truth, she was rather hungry. But the extent to which she was upset seemed to mask it over, "I'm fine," she repeated, sipping on it.

"You know what? It's impossible to believe that. You haven't had a breakfast today even and you have a big appetite. You better not lie to me, I will find out", he said with a small shake of his index finger but hemmed slightly after it, continuing eating. "But you're the doctor. You should know your conditions better than I", he said, like sort of reminding about it but with a tone which showed his appreciation to her professional.

He didn't have to find out, for in seconds, profuse sweating broke out on her forehead and she began swaying gently. Her shaky hands dropped the glass of juice onto the table, before holding her head gently.

Logan leaned a bit over the table taking her hand softly and aiding it to reach for the sandvich. "Don't bully yourself, Clair", he halfly demanded her and pulled his hands back, waiting her to take a bite with a firm stare. The scene was absurd for Logan: usually their roles would have been just vice versa.

Clair couldn't help the urge to eat. Within seconds, she was munching away on the sandwich, albeit grumpily. "Happy now?" she asked with a full mouth, reaching for the juice to help her swallow it down.

Logan smiled widely for a second but the smile went smaller for an unknown reason. "Yes, very..", he said a bit absently and continued his salad.

Clair watched Logan inquisitively. Dusting her hands free of crumbs, she poked his elbow. "What's wrong?" she asked, rather concerned.

"Huh? Well just.. That felt very relieving to get you to eat", he muttered and stared his salad with no expression on his face. "It must have been a real torture and pressure not to get me to eat", he stated quietly with a sigh and raised his look then, spreading his hands a bit. "I mean, of course I have thought these things theoretically but this was a startling concrete example."

"Then my plan is a success," Clair said with a smile, "Though short lived. I was trying to hold the fast at least for a couple of days," she joked. Then she looked at Logan, "I'm glad you understand though."

Logan was still emotionless for a while but then he grinned and pointed her a bit with his finger. "I will remember that when I grade you."

Clair's eyes went wide for a moment and her skin turned pale. Immediately she put her head down to hide her face, "Ah crap," she mumbled, shaking her head a little.

"What?", he asked with a frown, drinking a bit his water and looking quickly at the time. He has only 10 minutes left before class starts.

"You're gonna grade me down for this aren't you?" she asked, peeking at him between her fingers. She already knew he would. Any person in his place would. Heck, she herself would. Unless...

"No no! I think that was a clever idea what shows you have learned something!", he said with grin. "Sorry if I nearly gave you a heart attack", he said as he continued eating a bit quicker.

"Oh thank god!" Clair exclaimed, enough to draw the attention of a couple of people, "I got so scared there." Then she looked up at the menu board, "I wouldn't mind a shake right now."
