I am studying for history, and have just read that the first French colonists in America supported interracial unions.

When Louisiana was first established by the French they came here for furs so they didn't have a need to colonize, Native Americans were pretty fucking okay with that seeing as we had Britain and Spain colonizing every peace of land that wasn't theirs. We traded with the French and eventually began marrying them which was HIGHLY encouraged.


The French were pretty alright but they had conflicts with the Iroquois.
