(:3) you're willing to help me? (:3)
God bless you're sweet sweet soul.

But it's understanding the cells and all the stuff that goes on in them basically. I haven't had biology since the 9th grade. And apparently this class is the hardest science class they offer.

Ew, I hated Anatomy&Physiology when I took it. History was easy but A&P, no thank you. I have to take that class next year.
i'm willing to help too! :)

I feel like if we were all the same age and went to high school together, it'd be study groups/tutoring sessions 24/7.

The Cell Membrane:

•A gatekeeper for the cell.

•Selectively permeable.

-Substances move across the membrane by passive transport by:

•Simple diffusion

-Facilitated diffusion through-

•Channels

•Gated channels

•Carrier proteins

•Equilibrium- Constant internal environment

•Homeostasis-Allows organisms to establish equilibriums

-Active transport across a membrane:

•Requires energy in the form of ATP

•Occurs with:

-Protein gates

-Endocytosis during pragocytosis/pinocytosis or receptor mediated endocytosis and exocytosis.

*Phagocytosis:

•Particle contacts cell membrane

•Cell membrane surrounds particle

•Cell membrane fuses, enclosing particle in a vacuole.

•Particle is digested.

*Pinocytosis:

•Cell membrane forms cavity

•Cell membrane fuses; enclosing liquid material in a vesicle

•A vesicle is a smaller membranous sac then a vacuole

•Cell-drinking

*Receptor mediated endocytosis

•All membranes have surface receptors

•Surface receptors bind to molecule

•Membrane responds by forming a vehicle

•Receptors may take a specific molecule.

@lonecoyote

I have Homeostasis down, if for some reason you need to learn about that. LOL. (test was over that)

btw i took AP Bio when I was a junior in high school as well- i'm actually a Biology major now in college, so if you need any help you can ask me :)

mine's the complete opposite- i am SO BAD at physics...

but i'm also a bio major, so for me it goes bio > chem > physics
Thanks babe, we are all nerds.

I have to get the exocytosis for lonecoyote as well..

@Semblance

You're a biology major?! Well, I know who I'm coming to for biology help.

I have to take Bio I&II

Then Chem I&II

Then A&P I&II

Then Physics I&II

And I'm dreading it

@Raphael

I need a study group. I really do.

@Annabelle

Holy fudge you're gr8

@MidnightSoul

That's a big privilege, dude. Way to take advantage of it

Also, THANK YOU to you all for doing this for me. It's really nice and sweet of you all.

You all deserve all of your wishes to come true.

also question- has anyone read plato's symposium or allegory of the cave (& the rest of book 7 in plato's republic)?

I've taken Bio I & II and Chem I & II (although I APed out of Chem I since I took AP Chem in high school)

I've taken Physics I but trust me, you do not want to come to me for physics help.

I have yet to take A & P

we could literally be our characters from louven high ahaha #throwback

Physics is fun. How do you not like it. Like... the math is just great. (> :D )
I hate math except stats I like stats

Ahhh the louven high memories...now I want to remove the shut down xD

@Semblance

I've never even heard of that. xD

@lonecoyote

I can help with Physics and try to help with A&P. (o'v'o)

@KaoriMei

I LOL'd.

@MidnightSoul

I'm not taking stats because I'm graduating early. (:'()

Okay! I'm going to sleep now. I need to catch up on all the lost hours. Good night!.

maybe we can do a small sequel with less characters? :D

I think a smaller group would be better for me cause even though I'm in college I'm still busy and lazy and it would make it easier on me

same here- i think that 22 characters is just a lot to keep track of, i generally think that RP's with less than 12 are the most successful :)

Louven 10 year reunion
Hey that sounds like a great Idea!!! All you guys past characters and maybe two or three more people! Oh I'm gonna cry now

BUT...

I DON'T CRY!!!

maybe 5 year reunion? (so right out of college) i feel like by 10 years, they'll be married already ahaha

°Eukaryotes°

•Membrane-bound organelles

•Nucleus

•Linear chromosomes

-Endosymbiotic Hypothesis: Organelles come from prokaryotic cells.

*Plant cells differ from animal cells.

-Plant Cells: -Animal Cells:

•No centriole. •Centriole

•Cell wall. •No cell wall

•Chloroplast. •No chloroplast

•Central vacuole. •No central vacuole

The modern version of the endosymbiotic hypothesis for the origin of eukaryotic organelles was proposed by Lynn Margulis.

1. Large prokaryotic cells engulf smaller ones.

2. Smalls cells remain alive within large cells.

3. Small bacteria provide energy to large cell.

4. Large cell provides food and protection to small cell.

5. Evolve into mitochondria.

Mitochondria and chloroplasts have two membranes:

•Membrane from original cell.

•Membrane from engulfing cell.

-Mitochondria and chloroplasts have their own DNA.

•Reproduce by binary tissue.

The Cell Membrane-

•Is present in all cells.

•A phosopholipid bilayer with hydrophilic (water-loving) heads to the outside and hydrophobic (water-fearing) on the inside.

-The fluid mosaic model:

•Describes the cell membrane as a phosopholipid bilayer with embedded protein and cholesterol molecules that flow within the bilayer.

-Integral Protein: Extends across the phosopholipid layer.

I think I've read it before.. I'll check my bookshelf tomorrow and see if there's anything relative to the title.

For now, good night to all you sluts!
