Futuristic Nova One - A Galaxy United

Vaz's mood darkened with every word out of the male Ascended's mouth. He tried very hard to keep his temper. Half of his mind reasoned that the Ascended was genuinely offering help, but the other half could not deny the undermining, political agenda this man had, a fact that was displayed so blatantly by his jump to an infrastructure for the Vos.

"You dare." Vaz growled loudly, finally letting his anger show. Reyna looked behind her and clenched her teeth, if this was  how Reksh'an looked 'a little bit angry' she'd hate to see one in a full rage.

"You dare disrespect the Council so openly as this? You threaten to send an Ascended fleet directly into Reksh'an space?!"

Vaz knew his people were no match technologically for the Ascended. They had only been a part of the intergalactic council for 500 years. The thought of an entire fleet worried him, which made him angry.

"You are arrogant and thoughtless. Further you spit in the face of the council members here by moving onto your people's vanity project!"

"Enough! I will have order!" Bretziz boomed, her melodious voice turning to thunder. Vaz shut his mouth but glared at Rune still.

"Honoured Mehrunes," The council mediator said softly, but her words were tight. "I respect the fact that this is the Ascended way, but you must take into account that it is not the way things are done by the council. We cannot authorize a single race fleet to enter controlled space of another species. Not without direct permission of the race in question."

"Which we will never give." Vaz stared Rune down with a firm expression.

Bretziz ignored him and continued. "Despite further complications of your proposed plan, the threat has not yet gone beyond attacks on single isolated ships or stations. This is not cause enough to mobilize a fleet. The force we are dealing with we can assume does not have the strength to chase larger targets and in effect may not even be intentionally hostile. Mehrunes, you are proposing we use a fist where what is needed is a surgical knife. That is why the Council has decided to put together a small inter-racial team to investigate this threat. That, esteemed Ascended is why you are here, because, as I need not remind you, you are not a member of this council, and do not have the right to propose your plans to the council unless it is through your sister, Solia. So I will hear no more of your plans for the Vos, this will be addressed during a regular session at the high council seat in the Central Quadrant."

Then she rounded on Vaz, "And neither are you a part of this council, you have that at least in common with Mehrunes, Vaz. If you insist on speaking out again I will have you physically removed from this room and barred from the mission."

Vaz looked abashed and lowered his head. He had also spoken out of turn he knew it.

"Now, if there will be no more delays, I would have each race introduce themselves and put forth their candidates for the expedition."

It was then Bretziz noticed the Spectralite, "proceed council member." She said evenly.

The moment of flaring tensions took Cooper off-guard, aperture darting quickly from lifeform to lifeform as the room quickly heated up. Right when it seemed as if the meeting were about to boil over to the point of no return, the Kosaritrez managed to bring things back around, just in time for the meeting to be salvaged. The navigator, as well as several of the lesser diplomats, let out quiet, whistling sounds of what may have been relief. Their leader, however, wasted no time going forward with her own words once she had been called on. Floating a little further outward, 2484 Energetic Diplomat let out two chimes, announcing her intent to speak, before going ahead and doing just that.

"If it pleases the council," she began, drifting calmly above the heads of most of those present, "the Intelligence Union would like to present the following hypothesis prior to introductions, for the sake of encouraging readiness, before introducing our candidate." Eventually, Energetic Diplomat managed to reach the front of the room, several holographic projections floating outward from her eye. Most of them were controlled laboratory tests, though some of them managed to display a reasonable similarity to what was present in the council member's broadcast. "Displayed here are the effects of microbial acid-creating lifeforms. You will notice that, similar to the projection offered, there is little in the way of burn marks, or signs of particle or energy weapon usage, leading us to the idea that this threat may be, at least in part, biological. A cloud or mass of acid-secreting extremophile bacteria or similar lifeforms would be difficult to pinpoint on scanners, and would potentially find little trouble attaching to a larger mass in order to survive re-entry. In accordance, the Intelligence Union would like to collectively suggest that extensive biological precautions are taken for this first mission, until more information on the threat can be gained via first contact."

With that, the diplomat's projections flickered out, and she turned herself towards the far end of the room. "This information and hypothesis was compiled and proposed by none other than our chosen candidate for the expedition, 0090 Cooperative Navigator, whom the Specralite Intelligence Union formally offers forth as a pilot and navigator primarily, and scientific observer secondarily."

Cooper swiveled his eye to the side, momentarily tilting his body to look behind him a little bit. Was there another Cooperative Navigator in the room? No. No there was not. More than a little embarrassed, seeing as he was no one important until this moment, truly, he found himself at a loss as to whether or not he should float forward or remain where he was. Eventually, assuming that the team was liable to gather in one place as representatives were chosen, he decided to float off to the side, dipping his body as he came to a stop in acknowledgement of his presence, and of the crowd, remaining somewhere visible, without bothering the proceedings.

Sellath Mk III - Heltherien

After the crowd had acknowledged the Spectralite ambassador and their candidate, a stately Aulean rose from her seat. Clad in a dark dress and dark head wrap, she made her way to the front of the room. Her eyes were unusually dark for an Aulean and gave the impression that she could see through you. Unusual pale blue skin distinguished her even further. Matron Galaden was known by many there, she had been a Council diplomat for more than three centuries. In her time, she had seen threats come and go, but perhaps none so decisively destructive as this.

"Thank you, all, for gathering here so expeditiously." Matron Galaden's voice, like smooth velvet, was deep and unwavering. "First, I would like to officially welcome our new friends," she said as she nodded towards the humans huddled in the front. "I hope that we may be able to spend more time getting to know each other, when the situation permits." Matron Galaden revealed a small holoprojector in her hands, raising it up but not turning it on just yet."For many centuries now, the Aule'wae have been the proudly preeminent producers of research vessels and sensors. Many of your own ships use our technology or have borrowed strongly from it. I say this not as boast," she smiled at the humans, clearly explaining for their benefit, "but to highlight exactly how innovative this craft is."

A small, spherical spacecraft appeared from the holoprojector, rotating slowly. "The Aule'wae present the Sellath Mk. III." Basic blueprints and specifications appeared beside it, flickering almost imperceptibly. "In addition to our significant contribution towards the facilitation of this mission, the Aule'wae commit the cutting edge of our technological advances, all culminating in the creation of this craft. It has substantially improved short and long range sensors, including the most accurate subspace flux analysis and neutrino imaging to date. This Sellath Mk. III, dubbed Heltherien, sports a complex and versatile telemetry system equipped with two probes. It is our hope that with this technology may help us to unmask this galactic boogeyman." Matron Galaden closed her palm, deactivating the projection.

"Last, but certainly not least, we offer one of the most talented exobiologists in our quadriant, Luthiel, second Daughter of House Celúbrindawen." Luthiel stood, meekly accepting the nomination. "Her vast knowledge and experience with the many differing species inhabiting our verse will be an asset to the research team. Should first contact happen, she is also a capable linguist that I believe could prove invaluable." Luthiel made her way to stand next to Cooper with her cheeks blushed, a definite deviation from the diplomatic Aulean standard. She almost flinched when Matron Galaden said the word experienced. Talented, she could possibly admit, on a good day. Knowledgeable barely scratched the surface. But, experienced? Luthiel spent more of her time buried in her datapad than off world. "And," the Matron added, "we thought it would be best to send someone who knew how to work the Heltherien." Met with light chuckles and applause, Matron Galaden went back to her seat to away the next race and their nominee.

Ever since their entrance onto the station, the Shiva diplomats have, for the most part, kept to themselves, adjusting their climate suits to keep them comfortable. Thanks to the air converters, they were able to take off their helmets. Reshim, however, only deactivated his visor, leaving the helmet's skeleton to cover his trimmed feathers to avoid embarrassment from those who know his culture. Unfortunately in situations like these where things can be a little crowded, keeping to themselves became more of a challenge than initially thought. Whenever someone came to them in curiosity, they gave the most respectful greeting a Shiva could muster: an intense stare with obvious judgement in their almost glowing blue eyes. For the most part, this oh-so-friendly greeting was able to keep most aliens away from them. Some were persistent, however, and their questions were normally met with silent nods or shaking heads.

Reshim was fairly nervous about the whole thing. It is his first delegate mission, after all. Scanning the rooms he had explored, he only then realized how he was surrounded by so many unknowns. What with magical floating cameras that talk and play music apparently, along with a multitude of colorful people, some of which look like they should be put back in the water with their tentacles. Or perhaps on a plate. He wasn't sure what any of these beings were called, but the floating cameras certainly intrigued Reshim. To Reshim's defense, he's been fairly sheltered from off-world affairs and only since his diplomatic training had he learned about a few. There were also some bipedal felines who upon overhearing one of their names, Reshim decided he isn't ever going to bother to remember them fully or even ask for them. They did look like a fun fight, though, but he'll just watch them from a distance for now. He noticed a line of rather tall beings dressed in some flashy outfits capable of flight. He's heard of these people, more through compliments than warnings. The Patronus, he believed they were called. They are actually quite well-known on his home planet due to their knowledge of light. More-so, the capability of invisibility from light. The options that this one technology provides, especially from someone of Reshim's military profession, is just something the Shiva can't overlook and must respect. He wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual with the Patronus, however. There were also another well-known species Reshim could see through the crowd, though not for the same reasons. The Ascended, they were called. Even thinking about the name had given Reshim a bad taste in his mouth. The Shiva despised their willingness to aid other species in need. If a species was on their deathbed and unable to dig their way out, so be it. If the individual is unable to succeed on its own, let them fall for they are worthless.

...Worthless.... This word echoed through Reshim's mind. His mind trailed off a bit before returning to his original train of thought.

The last species Reshim picked out had definitely caused his stomach to flip. During his diplomatic training, he was warned of these beings. The Reksh'an, he was told they were called. There weren't any political issues between the Shiva and Reksh'an, at least none he knew about, but there were some unfortunate circumstances, more on the Shiva side. They looked similar to the Korva, the Shiva's co-inhabitant on their home planet and natural competitor. The worst part is that these Reksh'an are far more capable of beating a Shiva than any Korva could be. And the fact that these lizards are spacefaring, very large, and containing some incredibly strong tech made Reshim's skin crawl.

Reshim had watched the humans make their way into the station. Was this all they were? All the excitement for them? They weren't all that impressive physically to say the least. Then again, neither were the Shiva or maybe half of the members here. They just seemed...basic. Perhaps they were more useful when it comes to intelligence. Perhaps even adaptation.

Reshim's mental ramble had stopped when his group had reached the "conference room." It had a funky smell to it, but Reshim just assumed it was all the aliens in the room stinking it up. The Shiva had found their seats and listened to the briefing, well, more like welcoming part really. Yes hello, how are you, blah, blah,.... Reshim thought to himself before his thoughts were interrupted by the Ascended's blabbering. Something about a platform to aid some Vos people? This didn't have much to do with the humans and frankly was a little irritating. For some reason the Ascended seemed to want to create some form of aid program for the Vos. Why aren't they able to fend for themselves? These Ascended people seem to be exactly like the rumors he had heard on his planet. One of the Reksh'an seemed to have been irritated by their nonsense. Reshim didn't expect a fight as it is a delegation, but that would have been good to see how they fight for the future. Unfortunately there was no fight and everything is going back to plan. One of the floating cameras seemed to have been picked to speak for the rest. It talked about some form of biological threat capable of eating a ship? That's a little terrifying. It also seems that it chose another floating thing as their entire species representative for the mission, called something something Navigator. Reshim laughed to himself as the thing seemed to awkwardly move off to the side. Next came one of the colorful people, talking about some sort of sensor craft, then much like the floating beings, nominated one of their experienced members as crew for the mission. Luthiel they called her. At least her name was easy to remember.

Reshim nearly jumped out of his chair when the Shiva representative next to him, named Domshara had stood up after the colorful one had sat down. He began to speak on the Shiva's behalf saying, "Thank you, Council members new and old, for attending this delegation." His voice was rough, even through the translators. He turned toward the human group to welcome them, "And speaking of new, humans, the Shiva would like to welcome you to the Council." He bowed his head slightly in respect before turning back toward the rest. "While we may not be as willing to offer our scientific technology as many others may, what we give in turn are our best soldiers and inventors capable of surpassing any obstacle thrown their direction. In the case of our candidate, he has proven to us a multitude of times his skills with mental and technological warfare. Every task given to him has been accomplished with honors, surpassing many of our current general's expectations of him. The Shiva have seen his eagerness for success and it is for these reasons that I present our candidate, Reshim Tulshiv. He is our most accomplished saboteur and inventor. His history proving to us that his skill should prove valuable when combat situations present themselves, giving us reason to believe he is valuable in our mission." Respectful applause followed his finishing statement as he sat down back in his seat.

Reshim's heart had skipped a beat upon hearing his name. He did not know he was going to be considered for the position let alone be the nominee. He felt unprepared and hated this feeling. He had turned off his translators to speak to the delegate who had nominated him, "Me? Why me of all the others? Is this why I was allowed to come here?"

"Yes. You are considered a threat on our home. It's a surprise to me that we haven't imprisoned you for treason yet. You're considered a terrorist through some of our generals, Reshim. Be happy we didn't kill you instead. Stand with the others. Your equipment will be waiting for you when this is finished."

Reshim's pupils had narrowed to a pin. He was angry. No. He was furious. He was no traitor. He had been serving his people for years now and he had the gall to call him a threat, let alone a traitor. However, this was not the time for arguments and so he did what he was told. He got up and walked toward the other two, physically looking into the crowd, but staring at the others he was going to be grouped with in his peripherals. He stood there, arms crossed and incredibly tense, waiting for whoever was next to show themselves.

((It's a little long...well it's very long. But I did what I could to make it seem like the Shiva have been there for a while.))

Kthara stood, sending a mild attention ping to Bretziz. The Councillor appeared surprised, but nodded for Kthara to speak.

"Honored Council members," he said, addressing the assembly. "I regret that I must report that Ambassador T'alphon has received news of a highly personal and urgent nature, requiring his immediate return to Valkah. I am Kthara, and having given the words of my Khan to the humans, I now give his offer to the Council. The services of myself and my Sha'kinir are placed at your disposal. We also offer the use of our newest craft, the Ty'phael class recon fighter."

A tapped command sent an abbreviated schematic of the fighter to the display, and Kthara paused a moment to let the others look it over.

"It bears little offensive capability," he continued after a moment, "But it has the life support to allow it a complete traverse of most systems without replenishment. The sensor array lacks the definition of larger craft, but it makes up for that fault with deployable remotes. It also has an active stealth component, making it nearly impossible to detect when on a ballistic path. Once our foes have been named, the entire weight of the ZeeValkniriseer'eere will be at your disposal. May our claws strike deep."

Michael followed the group towards the back of the hangar that had been designated by Bretziz as the council chambers. He listened to the rest of the races commune with each other, until his attention was drawn towards Reyna and her question about Michael and the others appearances. Uriel watched, no one would ever notice it because of how easily Michael played it off, but he could tell that the question had made the Elder Patronus nervous.

"Perhaps that is a question that can be best answered after we have heard what the council has to say. To many thoughts at one time can make things harder to, digest."

Uriel scoffed a little bit as they entered into the chambers and found their places. Michael, as representative found a seat at the table with the others, while Cassiel, Uriel, and Tabbris stood at the back and listened.

The news that was delivered made Uriel and the others a bit unnerved. Thousands of planets had the Patronus encountered and not once had they ever seen something that could destroy a space station the way that the picture had described. While Michael sat and absorbed the information, Uriel had moved a bit closer towards the table, his eyes fixed on the image before him. What had done something like this? Was it a new species capable of space travel, or possibly a single creature that survives in the vacuum of space? The questions began to pile up within Uriels head, and before he knew it Tabbris had placed a hand on his shoulder to draw him back into place.

As Uriel returned to his place, the representatives from the Ascended immediately brought up the notion of enacting military involvement. Uriel scoured at this, and exspected Michael to step in and interject about learning more about the attack. But it was the giant reptilian Vaz who interjected, and thus the room began to buzz feverishly with arguments. Finally, after Bretziz's interjection, the room returned to a more civilised tone and the representatives began to offer their representatives for the venture. Finally Michael stood slowly from his seat, his hands buried within the sleeves of his robes.

"Admirable Council, esteemed human guests. I, Michael, Elder of the Historia Order of the Patronus, offer the services of my Scientia Representative, Uriel, for this venture. He is young, but the most inquisitive of his Order. Should the Council accept him."

Uriel was a bit dumbfounded for a moment before he felt Cassiel give him a shove towards Michael. They had discussed who might represent the Patronus, but Uriel had half heartedly exspected Michael to choose Tabbris or Cassiel over him. nonetheless, Uriel stepped forward and bowed to the Council after stepping to the side of Michael and addressing them.

"It would be my honor Council members."

Mehrunes look as if he was about to snap back a response, but was stopped by Solia's hand. Her face, however, was a clear sign of restrained anger: Eyes cold, and a piercing gaze sent towards Vaz. "Excuse me Bretziz, but I have to say this towards Vaz....I will make this perfectly clear, as very little angers me. Do not ever dare call my blood thoughtless or arrogant again, Reksh'an. He clearly stated that the Council had to ask for him to mobilize the fleet here, NOT that he was bringing it here. "Solia said. It was very rare for her to get angry towards others, and those that she did get angry towards learned why her people chose her to lead. She herself may not be a warrior, but she had warriors blood, and she wouldn't tolerate anyone dishonoring her kin unjustly, nor would she tolerate words being put into her peoples mouths.

When she had to be, Solia could be a very intimidating person.

Solia would then run a hand through her hair to calm herself, before speaking towards the human. "I am Solia'Zephyrus Vas Onishera, 7th High Chancellor of the Ascended High Council, and I represent my people on the Intergalatic Council. I welcome you, Human. I apologize that you had to see my brothers outburst. You come at a....difficult time." Solia said, bowing to the human.

Mehrunes looked like he wanted to say something in response to this, but a whisper from his sister made him sigh, choosing against it. He would get up, and bow towards the female. "I am Admiral Mehrunes'Jitatsu Vas Onishera, Head of the Fleet of Perpetual Justice. If you ever need aid, my people shall provide. We look after our own." Mehrunes said, though he obviously didn't specify what he meant by 'we'.

Solia would then speak up. "Bretziz, I understand that this is irrelevant towards the current situation, but even you yourself have stated that Space Travel will soon be scarce once words of these attacks begin to spread around, or worse case, they increase. Trade will suffer for it, especially for those worlds that rely on it." Solia said. "Besides, The Vos have been suffering for long enough without aid, It is time one of us provides. My people are ready and willing, we only need the Vosith Ambassadors permission....As for the situation at hand, that is why I brought the 137th Expeditionary Defense Flotilla. "Solia said.

Solia would stand, before looking towards everyone in the room. "As the Intelligence Union, as well as 2484 Energetic Diplomat and 0090 Cooperative Navigator have stated, These attacks are of a biological nature. The Ascended will send nothing, but it's best to find the source of the issue at hand....It is in that spirit, that the Ascended High council have elected to send their best Biologist: Me." Solia said.

This was Dangerous on a multitude of levels, but ultimately was exactly how the Ascended acted. Solia was one of the few Ascended that actually supported unity with the council, and this was a high risk mission. Were anything to happen to her, Negative opinion of the Council would sky-rocket. However, at the same time, Solia was once the Head Scientist of the Ascension Project, which was another issue.

Their knowledge on the subject was a complete secret.

They obviously held more knowledge than most on Biological science, and even had begun forced evolution. However, The Ascended had absolutely refused to share this with anyone outside their race. Only a handful of people actually had this knowledge, and none would betray it. Solia was the best candidate for this mission, and it was unlikely Solia would back down from it. "That is why the Flotilla is here. They are to be my vanguard for the duration of this mission.....My personal guard, will be my brother. "She said to the Council.

As Edward moved with the other humans it was clear he was bored. The demenior of him heavily radiated one of boredom and a want for a glass of whiskey. Then he peeked up slightly as he remembered what he had snuck on board. Gently reaching into the inside of his coat he pulled out a cigaret and slipped it into his mouth then reached back in and pulled out a gold lighter and lit the cigaret immediately taking in a deep breath and letting it out with the cigarette still in his mouth

tumblr_ntjpxy9Vrm1qcy62fo1_500.gif
as he put the lighter away then took the cigaret in between his pointer and middle finger and pulled it out. Truly he would prefer a cigar but the cigaret would have to do for now. They just weren't the same though, a cigar had a better taste to him and he enjoyed them more than the cigarets but hey can't get everything you want. As he gently put the cigaret back in his mouth he looked around at the aliens that were around them noticing a couple that were watching him specifically he let out a low growl before taking the cigaret out and blowing out the smoke once more before putting the cigaret back in his mouth as he spoke. "Hey when do we get to go rest in our cabins?" He said out loud hopping one of the other humans would reply to him

For perhaps the second time that meeting, the Specralite delegation found themselves entirely confused.

Cooper did not dare move from his new spot by the constantly-growing operation team, but he did send a few quick glances towards the diplomats, who, in turn, sent several quick glances back at him. After another of those not-quite-throat-clearing-but-still-mostly-there noises, 2484 Energetic Diplomat decided that she might as well take up the question herself, though perhaps not in a way that was particularly helpful to the human.

"From...What we have gathered in terms of your biology, it seems highly unlikely for the physiology of a human of your assumed fitness and status to tire so quickly, especially after such a journey. If anxiety is resulting in an overly fast usage of energy stores, please be assured that there is very little to be worried about. The Interspecies Coalition has no desire to harm you." She flicked her eyes back and forth, as if unsure whether or not to continue, though the diplomat ultimately did so.

"Perhaps, considering the chemical composition of what you currently have in your mouth, if you were to cease ingesting harmful airborne chemicals on a constant basis, your energy stores and general aptitude would improve by several margins." This time, the synthetic vocalization that came was less of a clearing of the throat, and more of a light, proper cough of sorts; even without any sort of biological components, it seemed that Spectralites were rather in-tune with the mannerisms of polite carbon-based company. "In lieu of the fact that we don't know exactly how certain other species present may react to the chemicals released into the air and ventilation systems, I would like to move that the Council forbid you from smoking for the duration of your stay with us."

Edward looked over to the being. Clearly not the answer he wanted he gave the being a cold glare through his lenses as he pulled the cigarette from his mouth and spoke. "It's not exactly easy to stop you know. I might be more advanced than other humans but I'm still human. And I wouldn't blame my exhaustion on the cigarette but more on human matter back on my planet. I'm no scientist neither am i a diplomat so I have much more to think about than some of the others. Mental exhaustion is much more than most." He said to the being as he put the cigarette in his mouth again before speaking once more. "Oh and one more thing. I wouldn't advice forbidding me from smoking while I'm here. A side effect of not smoking is increased anger levels and so to say grumpiness which would mean less cooperation from me which I wouldn't want." He said to the being hopping to defuse them from forbiding him from smoking because if they did it wouldn't be good

Luthiel Celúbrindawen - Astrobiologist

Luthiel silently agreed with the Spectralite diplomat. Even from here she could smell the burning Nicotiana, an unpleasant sensation at best. From what little she knew of human physiology, she had come to the conclusion that smoking such a toxic substance could give one a fleetingly pleasant feeling, but also greatly endanger the functioning of the body. It seemed similar to the Qu'illi tradition of smoking Fenril, but for the Qu'illium that was only socially accepted when one was already nearing the end of their lifespan. They saw it as a way for elders to ease their pain. The human seemed to be perfectly capable, though, maybe more so than most of his kind. It puzzled Luthiel why a race would actively pursue such risky activity. If they were advanced enough for FTL space travel, they surely must be able to identify the danger of such an activity. But as the human seemed a bit touchy about it, she let the conversation pass. Luthiel also wondered what the human had to think about, more than his scientist and diplomat counterparts. A curious specimen, she concluded.

"Perhaps," she chimed in, "another would like to make their introductions? I believe we still have quite a few left." In the crowd Luthiel could see a few unfamiliar faces, including a human female other than the Captain, a Typhloid, and a Lunisan.

Energetic Diplomat let out a bit of a nervous laugh, singular eye flipping back and forth between the other diplomats in the area, before returning to the smoking human. She fell silent for a time, only venturing to speak after an uncomfortable pause.

"Please, for the sake of interspecies diplomacy, could you put that away? You are more than welcome to perform that particular Earth practice in your private quarters, so long as you take care to remove all noxious chemicals from your person and belongings directly afterwards," she chimed, a slight bit of fabricated nervousness entering her artificial voice, "some species may experience discomfort if such chemicals so much as make contact with their skin; if the Arathustrian diplomat were here today, I'm sure the poor fellow would be breaking out in hives right about now..."

The Spectralite's voice faded away, letting the awkward silence fall in once more. She did not question the curious statement about having more to think about than just about anyone else in the room, considering everyone's qualifications, a notion that she found especially strange seeing as Spectralites were constantly thinking. Perhaps his words denoted a Human trait that the Council did not receive in their initial dataset? She would have to inquire later on. As Luthiel spoke up, however, Energetic Diplomat let out a quick, relieved sigh of sorts. Perhaps the human would reconsider, and things would move along as they were supposed to.

Vaz seethed but kept silent. He knew better than to invoke the wrath of the council mediator further. She tilted her head slightly, a gesture he knew in her race to denote stressed patience. She had clearly performed this dance with the Ascended before.

"The number of ships you brought will remain here, at the space station. The council has already decided to send one, solitary ship to the exoplanet's surface to recover the scientists. Beyond that, I will need to confer with the council to include your fleet in the next steps of the investigation." She glanced briefly at Rune before continuing.

"I do not demean the value of the work you do, honored Solia. The Vos development project very important to the council, however if we were to address all necessary matters in the galaxy here this unknown threat would spread likely beyond easy control. If I were to address your issue here there would be many others who would see it fit to bring other matters to this discussion. Surely you see that we must stay on track."

She bowed her head respectfully. "What I can do here however is send a priority request through the relays so that when we do reach the central quarter, the issue will be brought forward to the next council hearing. As soon as we learn what we can on the Reksh'an exoplanet, and recover the scientists here, we will go to the central quarter to present our findings. The matter can be addressed then. Solia, will this suit your respectable endeavors?"

Reyna looked around with interest at the candidates put forward for the mission. She tired to bridle her apprehension but her excitement was unyielding. There was so much to learn! Her second however didn't seem to share her enthusiasm. He lit a cigarette (lord knew where he got it) and began to smoke it. One of the mechanized light beings made a request for him to put it out. Reyna couldn't believe his attitude.

"Put it out soldier, who knows what the smoke could do to some of the people here, and don't mouth off to the hosts." Her tone was firm, but not condescending. She was a commander after all, the last thing she wanted was for some of the alien races to think she couldn't handle her own men.

The last introduction was the Reksh'an. The council member bowed and appointed the burly Reksh'an that had lost his temper, Vaz Reyna thought he'd been called. She wasn't sure whether his presence on the mission was a good thing or a bad thing. She made a note to watch him. Between him and Rune, Reyna thought Vaz looked more dangerous, and he certainly had an angry streak.

When the introductions were complete Bretziz bid the human leader stand. Reyna got to her feet, hands behind her back and standing at ease, a habit that was hard to shake since her training back on earth.

"Commander Reyna Summers, I will not gloss over your possible feelings of saturation for the new and unusual, but as the representative of the newest member race of the intergalactic council I invite you and a select number of humans to accompany out team to investigate the matter of this galactic threat."

Reyna nodded. She had received a briefing where this had been discussed, and she was ready.

"Earth thanks you for your consideration and your respect. We won't let you down.

Bretziz then turned to Luthiel and gestured for the projector to be turned off.

"In light of the climactic conditions on the surface of the planet, it is imperative then that our team depart as soon as is permissible. Luthiel, may I ask you to introduce the vessel to our chosen team in person? For the rest of the council members, we shall adjourn this meeting until the exploratory party's return."

And just like that, the lights came on and the members began to rise slowly. Vaz stood apart from the main crowd, there to collect the members of their team and lead them to the hanger where the new ship was waiting.

The hangar was huge and when Reyna rounded the corner and got a full view of it, the craft sitting regally in its center made her jaw drop.

((Here we get the introduction to the ship, anyone can chime in with what their species has contributed))

Solia would pinch the bridge of her nose, a sign of agitation, before speaking. "This wouldn't bother me, if this was the first time it was pushed back. I have put this request forth before three times now, with different ideas in effect, and the response is always the same- The Next Council meeting."Solia said, tapping her finger on her chair. "By my ancestors, Bretziz, people are dying back on the Vos Homeworld, and none of us are doing anything to fix the problem! Sending supplies there only serves to be the bandage that hides the wound." Solia said, sitting back. " My people have the capabilities, the strength, and the supplies to do it, all I ask is that you listen to me, and let me aid them. I refuse to let another soul die on that planet because I did nothing, when I am in the position to help! "Solia said, not angry, but determined. She refused to have anyone else suffer when she was in full position to help or send aid. This was typical of the Ascended. They always felt they had to take the problems of the Galaxy on their shoulders.

Mehrunes looked furious with the council, yet again refusing to allow the Ascended to send aid. "Why should you be surprised, Sister? After all,  when we try to send aid, we are demonized for it, but when we need aid ourselves, all we get are false promises.....I refuse to listen to these lies any longer. If you need me sister, I will be back on my ship. " Mehrunes said, standing. He would then send a look towards the human captain, before bowing, and 'peacefully' leaving the meeting room, to avoid a violent out-burst.

Solia would just sigh, placing her hands in her face. This was exactly what she was hoping to avoid today. Solia was just happy he chose, instead of a violent outburst, to leave the room. Solia's attention was, thankfully, taken by the sight of the new ship. Solia had personally worked on the shielding technology on it. IT was Cyclonic barrier technology, meant to completely nullify energy based attacks, an Experimental design to be honest, but one she was proud of.

Hangar

Nova One

Luthiel nodded to Bretziz enthusiastically. This would be a chance to interact with the diverse members of the crew in a much less formal setting. She raised her voice towards the group and gestured towards a doorway. "This way, if you all would."

The group made its way through the metal hallways. Almost unceremoniously, they turned a corner and found themselves finally face to face with it. The hangar was almost cavernous, the sounds of their footsteps faintly echoed off its walls. Luthiel had decided to first stop by a viewing platform slightly above the ground floor in order to give them a chance to see it as a whole. The dark, sleek body of the ship excited many of the group, but held an ominous feeling for some. "May I present to you, our prototype EIE ship, that is, Experiemental Interspecies Effort. Many of the races here today, including the Aule'wae, have contributed to its creation and are wholeheartedly committed to its success." She paused for a moment, letting the members of the group take in the view. Luthiel wasn't particularly knowledgeable about ships, but as far as the could tell, this one was a beauty. "If you would follow me, we will make our way down to the cargo bay of the ship."

Once arrived on the ground floor of the vast hangar, Luthiel led the group up the ramp of the cargo bay. Last minute provisions zooming on hovercarts added to the buzz of the final technical checks. It all felt so fast, so overwhelming, but also comforting and exciting at the same time. For most of the group, it was their first time setting foot on the ship.

"Over here, you will receive your briefing packet. Each packet will contain details on the finer points of the ship, including its layout, and information on your specific assignment." Luthiel gestured over to the attendants handing out the packets. As the new members of the crew stepped up the get their packets, Luthiel found herself admiring the shuttles being loaded into the bay. There was the Heltherien. Seeing it reassured Luthiel, as it was the only thing she was really familiar with. She'd never seen a real Reksh'an fighter before. Or a Moltari one, for that matter.

((I imagine this is when people start talking about their races contributions, like Silver said. Feel free to talk specifically to someone else or just in a general sense, I'm sure we'll all jump in to interact. They can talk to each other about the ship, whatever is in their packets, whatever was said in the meeting, etc. Anyone is welcome to interact with Luthiel!))

((Edit: My bad on prematurely naming the ship! Perhaps after everyone gets their packets and settles, we can have the humans name it?))

The Spectralite delegation let out a series of excited chitters, panels fluttering as they examined the vessel from top to bottom. Cooper, silent, but excited on his own, quickly took off upward, his body dulling to a metal-like sheen as he made his way to the outer side of the cockpit, aperture sweeping across the window as he examined all there was to see. He could not delay long, however, and quickly returned to his delegation and the others before his absence could become a bit of an actual problem.

The excitement of the Spectralite diplomats failed to fade while he was away; though every single Spectralite knew what the ship "looked" like, due to their collective contribution to its overall design, it was nonetheless a delight to behold the ship in its full glory. "Goodness me!" chimed Energetic Diplomat, "no amount of technical images and in-progress viewfeeds could do it justice!"

The other diplomats, Cooper included, fluttered their panels a second time, this time in agreement, though they failed to state the contributions they had made. Perhaps they were merely distracted by the view around them? No, no, that couldn't be it; there was no doubt that the other hundreds of thousands of Specralites in the Union were chattering on about how the new arrivals should be made aware of the work the Spectralites had done right about immediately. It was far more likely that, for whatever reason, Energetic Diplomat was merely waiting for the right time.

Just from this one meeting, Reshim had made the conclusion that Council meetings are incredibly dramatic. How the Council hasn't imploded on itself is beyond his comprehension, yet impressive nonetheless. The walk to the hanger was a nice distraction from his previous thoughts and events. Unlike what his representative had implied, being chosen for this mission felt like he was promoted over being psuedo-exiled. Well, that's what Reshim had treated it as. He had been grouped up with unknown people, each considered to be one of the best in their catagory. Though, he wasn't exactly sure what they are truly capable of or even if they were to be trusted as more than just coworkers. They are still aliens to him after all. With these thoughts, he compared both working for the Council and Shiva, the Council should have far greater benefits than the Shiva who think he is a threat. If some minor issue occurs, at least the Council won't take away any privileges for failures like what Shiva leaders would. Hopefully.

As his thoughts about working for the Council seemed hopeful, so too were his first impressions of the starship. From the quick initial glances he could get of it before he got in line to receive his briefing packet, he had a few conclusions. The ship looked durable enough for combat and the weapons seemed larger than his previous ship with his old crew. Granted, his previous ship was nothing more than a beat-up scouting vessel. He was curious to see its features to their fullest extent. It's a shame the Shiva had decided not to be involved with its creation. Perhaps it was due to how high-risk this mission may be; the Shiva had thought that providing the resources might not be worth the risk or maybe they didn't want to share their technology for security reasons. Apparently, however, sending one of their species is still worth their time. Still, despite the fact that all the technology installed on the ship being foreign, Reshim was excited to see it in action.

After he had received his briefing packet, he stood near the vessel, somewhat apart from the rest, to study its exterior while still remaining within group proximity for further orders. The way each panel fit together, complimenting each other to such a degree that almost outclassed anything his own kind has created. Compliments to the designers. Reshim would have to remind himself never to say any of this anyone back home when or if he returns. They'd have his head on a stake before he could he could even say 'it's true, though'. So he stood quietly, studied what could could currently, and waited until he was verbally allowed to enter it's unknown glory.

One by one the other representatives stepped forward, and Uriel began to swell at the thought of so many working together for the sake of the galaxy. It was a truly inspirational to see so many come together in the time of need to help defend the galaxy, including the newest addition of the humans. Uriel watched and listened to the council address the Ascended's concerns with a mild interest. He agreed with the council member Bretziz that given the circumstances of the threat below them on the planet, this issue that the Ascended seemed to have would best be brought up in a different setting.

As the final representatives were assured forwards and Bretziz addressed the humans for their cooperation, Uriel felt the slight buzz of his Haloid and closed his eyes. Concentrating on the short ranged sensors within the Haloid, he felt Michael's consciousness brush his own before his voice resonated within his head.

Uriel, as we discussed before, it is your job to collect as much data on this "anomaly" as you can for the records. If the anomaly is as aggressive as it seems, the council will undoubtedly call for its destruction. You must have collected as much information as you can before then.

Uriel smirked a little with his eyes still closed.

Don't worry Elder, I will do what needs to be done.

Uriel felt Michael's consciousness recede from his and he opened his eyes. Bretziz was gesturing to the Aule'waen and the projector had been turned off. He followed after the Aule'waen and the rest of the party giving his Patronus brethren one last glance before heading out into the hangar. As they turned the corner, Uriel had been expecting some sort of council transport vessel, maybe a cramped cargo ship that would take them to the planet below. What he saw, was a ship that made Uriel's jaw drop slightly and his eyes widen. The ship was as beautiful as it was deadly looking. From the simple design of the ship, to the large plating that covered it, Uriel was awestruck by the ship . He felt his excitement begin to grow once again and before he knew it, his wings had opened up on his bag and he was floating down towards the loading bay where Luthiel was motioning for packets on the ship. Uriel took one but merely continued to look over the ship itself. Still floating a few inches above the ground, Uriel sidled over besides the Aule'waen, his eyes still examining the ship from bow to thrusters.

"This is a remarkable ship, Luthiel was it? I do not believe I have ever seen one of its equal. Is this of Aule'waen design?"

Kthara's nose wrinkled as one of the humans produced a rolled cylinder of plant materials and set it alight. He briefly considered sealing his suit, but decided that such an action could be considered an insult, and instead tapped a quick command that extruded a lightweight filter mask to cover his mouth and nose. The atmospheric converters were wonderful devices, but they did have certain limitations. While they provided a breathable mix, they did nothing for particulates, nor did they function without proper trace elements in the mix they were converting, and of course, they required a source of atmosphere to work with. Kthara always made it a point to wear his vacuum armor whenever he was aboard a ship or station, and required his Sha'kinir to do the same. He wondered what pleasure the human could derive from his action, but the human Great Claw apparently did not approve of his actions. Her words were sharp as she bid the male extinguish his plant material, but then the whole group was moving, despite ongoing debates and complaints from some delegates, as the Councillor impressed the urgency of their situation upon the group at large. Kthara followed the group into the hangar where their ship waited, allowing his mask to retract as he left the contaminated air behind.

The lean form of the ship rested lightly in its cradle, and Kthara felt a swell of pride at his people's work. They may not have created the ship from concept to hull, but they had translated other races theories and ideas into form in record time. He glanced to the rear, knowing he couldn't see the parasite bay from this angle, but his mind's eye provided the details of the various small craft docked beneath the retractable panels just above the drive output. The recon craft was the best his people had yet to produce, and he looked forward to seeing it in action. A flicker of motion caught his eye, and he turned his head slightly to see on of the delegates spread what appeared to be technological wings as it drifted towards the ship.

"It seems that our transportation meets with the approval of at least one other being," he thought. "Now we just need to see how well such a diverse group can meld into a functional  Sha'kinirah. Let us hope that our Great Claw is up to the task."

Vaz strode ahead of the party and began organizing the supply carts making their way in through the bay doors. When they had finished admiring the ship he stood aside on the gangplank to allow them onto the bridge.

"This is the product of species working together." Vaz gestured at the ship proudly. "Harmony is difficult to achieve, but with respect and understanding...on all sides. The great is possible."

Reyna had to nod her approval. Vaz saw the young Shiva and gestured for him to follow. They were not dissimilar, their races. "Welcome, you have a place here as much as any. Do not hesitate to claim what is yours."

Vaz then appeared by Solia's side, startlingly silent for his bulky size. "There is a briefing I will give on our task at the planet's surface, it is important, the planet is...unique in its structure and biology and... As I give it while we travel, we will be launching as soon as the final preparations are finished." The bay doors shut with an audible boom as if to emphasize the need for haste. "I would not defy the council's wishes. We need your brother."

If there was any lingering resentment he made no sign of it, only nodded stiffly to the Ascended and went to prepare the briefing.

"Take your personal effects to your bunks aboard the ship. Then we meet in the conference room just below the bridge."

It had taken Reyna a good while to give orders to the men and women who were to stay behind on the space station. They were to help the Reksh'an scientists on the station as much as they could and arrange for further discussions with the council about knowledge trade. Reyna had only been here for a few hours and she had already seen a hundred different pieces of tech that would make life on Earth more sustainable. One such item was the nutritional synthesizer, a machine that printed the exact nutritional requirements of any species whose data had been uploaded. After a long explanation Reyna finally allowed the Reksh'an researchers to scan her, so they could add the requirements of humans to the machine's database.

She had taken the briefing package from Luthiel with a smile and a thank you (they had already provided a copy in English) and only a page in her head was buzzing with questions. It was all so new.

"I think my head's going to explode." She said with good humour, then thought about the statement. "It was a figure of speech by the way, human heads don't explode under normal circumstances."

Vaz stepped into the empty room and set the personal dossier screens down on a low table before sitting. He gritted his sharp teeth against the wave of worries that flooded into his mind. That this new threat was not known by even the most advanced council races...and the fact that it was so close to his home planet...He tried to stifle the 'what if's that clamoured to be heard in his mind. No, he had to stay focused. He would be of no use to his people if he did not try and keep a level head...

Quietly, Cooper peeled away from the other diplomats of his race, floating off throughout the newfound ship. He would hear what they heard, after all, so there should be no issue when it came to him doing a bit of poking around. It was faulty reasoning, he was well aware, but one of the interesting things about being "alive," the Spectralites had found after a while, was that one could personally justify the illogical as many time as they wanted to. What a strange sort of freedom, it was. Yet, Cooper's reflections on such only lasted so long, his thoughts quickly being filled by those pertaining to the ship itself. It seemed like only yesterday he and all his kind had shared the burden of calculations on this very vessel; yet, it was still something different to see it.

Seized by a sudden immediate curiosity, Cooper quickly shot through the hallways, picking up speed near the ceiling as he made his way towards the bridge. Was there a Spectralite Input Port? Could there be? No, there had to be, he was sure of it. The others would be bound for the conference room soon, but if there was a port, perhaps he could "meet" them there anyway.

It did not take long for Cooper to make his way to the bridge, even despite the ship's size. Increased speed was, usually, a side-effect of flight. He slowed as the door opened, taking in all the seated positions, all the consoles, flickering screens; ship bridges were perhaps the most common sight in the world for someone like a navigator, but at the same time, there was something different about this particular one, something beautiful, something he could not quite put his panels on, even despite several seconds of comprehensive database searching and comparison. His pace slowed to a leisurely drift as his aperture passed over the details of the room, shifting from station to station. Everything had its place, here, fanning outward from the sides towards the central window in an array of cooperative stations.

And in the middle was the prize. Floating beneath a wide, elaborate star chart, was an unassuming, palm-sized hole, ringed by silver metal. Cooper's panels shifted, each following the movement of another as a cascading wave of motion moved slowly through his array. An indication of wonder.

The navigator moved closer to the hole, and as he did, the chart responded to his presence, flickering away. Perhaps it knew when it was no longer needed. Cooper drifted upward, turning himself around, dulled panels flickering away one by one into nothingness, pyramidal body and all, until the only thing left was the glowing white sphere that comprised his central core. He fit perfectly; the upper portion of the socket shifted inward as he slid in, cupping him into place as nothing but the very top of his central sphere remained above. Many of the holographic panels within flickered out, only to flicker back into existence, bearing his tilted-square insignia briefly, before returning to their normal displays. Oh, what a ship it was. What a ship.

Luthiel Celúbrindawen - Astrobiologist

"And you are Uriel, yes?" Luthiel offered the Ascended a kind smile as greeting. "It is a true mark of innovation. Though we contributed to its design, it is more of a concerted effort by the finest aerospace architects in our verse. I believe there was a particularly gifted Vosite engineer at the head of the endeavor, though. But, do not let me keep you from preparing for the briefing, it seems everyone is acting with such haste. If you would excuse me." Luthiel bowed to Uriel and made her way out of the cargo bay.

She headed straight to the conference room. She'd already had a chance to acquaint herself with the ship and store her belongings away as she'd arrived at the station a few days early. A small Spectralite being zoomed past her in the direction of the bridge, floating excitedly away. Spectralites were one of the few races she was actually acquainted with and she felt they were very precious. They shared similar goals to the Aule'wae and seemed sincerely interested in the cooperative effort to achieve those goals. In fact, she'd yet to meet a Spectralite she didn't like. Though, realistically, she hadn't met any representative of any race that didn't truly fascinate her. Luthiel knew they had an important mission to do, but getting to know some of her crew mates on the side wouldn't be such a bad thing. She just had to placate her curiosity until they had a chance to really sit and talk.

Luthiel was one of the first to enter the briefing room after Vaz. He seemed lost in his thoughts. Luthiel wasn't sure he'd noticed that she'd entered the room, but she thought better than to disturb him. Instead, she quietly found her personal dossier on the table and took a seat nearby.

@SilverFlight @_Line 213 @zCrookedz

"The design was collaborative!" Energetic Diplomat chirped in response to the nearby question, panels flaring as she attempted to catch the other representative's eye, "who designed what depends entirely on what portion of the ship you speak of! There's only so much that any individual species can put forward when it came to such a thing, after all." She bobbed up and down in the air, a signal which may have been interpreted as some sort of light nod, "if there's anything in particular that you would wish to know about, I'm sure that the Intelligence Union has more than enough data on it!"

@zCrookedz

Solia sighed. She knew Vaz was right, and before he left, said this too him. "I know Vaz.....But it is hard, when your own worst enemy is not only your best friend, but your own flesh and blood...how is dealing with that simple?" Solia said, rubbing her eyes. Her own brother acted against what Solia believed was the best interest for the entire galaxy. On the one hand, Mehrunes words bordered on treason, and she was within her full right to call in question is ability to lead and his trust-worthiness with the lives of so many. On the other, Mehrunes was still a very capable soldier, and a charismatic leader. Were she to speak out against him, undoubtedly support for him would shoot up, and she'd likely be removed from her position as it would be deemed a conflict of interest.

Though she would support her brother to her dying breath, Solia must know the truth: Did the council really have something to do with her parents murder?

Their parents murder was deemed an accident, when a pirate accidentally hit the reactor on the ship, thus causing it to be destroyed. Solia grieved, but felt there was no other way to go but to move on. However, after digging through her brothers personal effects to learn his motives, the 'evidence' her brother gathered formed a pit in her stomach: At the time, her parents were outspoken critics of the Council like her brother, but they held large sway in the government. They were taken on the cruise to help relax things. Another was the fact that Mehrunes was scheduled to screen that route, but a week before the attack, had been asked on an emergency attack on a 'large scale' pirate raid.

Seems a matter of convenience, correct? Solia saw that her brother felt otherwise, and the logical part of her couldn't help, but agree.

The attack was too perfect, too clean. Her brother wrote that they knew EXACTLY where to strike, what route to take, and when all was said and done, not a trace was left behind. He also added and wrote on his mission report that the strike force was grossly over-exaggerated, that there were only a few dozen ships, hardly an emergency matter. Either the pirates had been tipped off, or it was exaggerated on purpose. Also, only the one ship was attacked.. All and all, it painted the Coalition in bad light, and pointed evidence directly at them. This didn't look like a regular pirate attack, it looked like an Execution. She honestly couldn't blame her brother for believing the Council set her parents up.

Could they have really gone that far?....Whether or not she believed so didn't matter. She had a copy of what her brother had wrote, what evidence he had collected, and was going to confront Bretziz with it. She needed to know the truth, one way or another. Standing up, she would walk towards the room where everyone else was. First, Solia had to tell the newcomer about the ship designs she worked on. After all, only a handful actually understood Ascended technology, the most trusted being the Spectralites, and that was because the little robots didn't hold an evil bone (or any bone for that matter) in their body.

" I worked personally on this ship, Captain Reyna. " The tall, thin, glowing woman said, placing her hands behind her back. "The shielding array is one of a kind- a prototype, which I am proud to have invented. I assure you, it will serve you well."Solia said, trying to think of the proper way to describe the ship.

She would then turns the aule'wan, Spectralite, human, and Patronus. "Now, for the big reveal on my lovely new prototype: Cyclonic Barrier Technology! "She said, clicking the data pad, and revealing the shielding array to them. "Cyclonic Barrier Technology (CBT) is my attempt to solve the higher-end limitations of traditional kinetic barriers. Traditional barriers cannot block high-level kinetic energy attacks such as Kinetic artillery, because kinetic energy fields add mass. The CBT violently slaps aside rather than halting incoming linear force. By rotationally firing their energy field projectors, ships create rapidly oscillating kinetic barriers instead of static ones. Shooting through the CBT is like trying to shoot at a target inside a spinning ball." Solia said. It was easy to forget that, before becoming in-tuned to politics, Solia was a prodigal scientist. Her naturally adaptive mind had created several inventions (while restricted solely for Ascended knowledge and usage) were highly effective.

"Significant drawbacks to current CBT configuration technically prevents its use on anything other than frigates and fighters, I had to adapt this to fit your ship properly so it would work. Its many high-frequency sensors and emitters require frequent maintenance and replacement. A partially damaged CBT can endanger its operator, who is surrounded by rotating Energy fields skewing in unpredictable directions. Fortunately, if an emitter is damaged, the CBT corrects to become a traditional shield array, a safety feature that makes it most effective during opening volleys. " Solia said, proud that she had discovered an advanced shielding technology.

This technology had amazing benefits, as it could be used not only on military ships, but trade ships and civilian vessels, not to mention on asteroid mining facilities. But then came the downside....

"I'll be sure to have an Ascended Technician work on it for you, once everything is said and done. " Solia said to Reyna.

This was a problem the Ascended had with everyone: They didn't reveal the secrets of their technology. How most are made is actually very carefully guarded secrets, spilling them without permission was an immediate death sentence. Their knowledge could help many, but the Ascended voted long ago against willing giving out their knowledge to others, feeling if they did, pirates or other ghastly forces would use it against them. Thus, the Ascended restricted who knew what about their gear immensely. The only race they shared their knowledge with was the Spectralites, and that was under the promise that they would never reveal anything unless deemed absolutely necessary.

The fact that Solia built an Experimental Shielding tech on the ship was an olive branch, but more likely than not she had counter measures in place to prevent anyone from scanning it, and taking it apart was a BAD idea. If the Ascended could be convinced to share their schematics, it could be useful, but for right now, the only working model sat on this ship, and that was likely where it would stay. Solia would make sure of that.

After explaining this to Reyna, Solia would look for Bretziz, before tapping their shoulder. "Excuse me Councilor.....But we need to talk, in private. " Solia said, sighing. She knew she had to talk to them about what her brother had, she needed the truth.

Reyna found the Ascended woman standing next to her and nodded up at the ship as she was given the information.

"Your race is remarkably developed." She said though she couldn't help but pause at Solia's mention of Ascended technicians working on anything they gave.

"And selfless too from what I've heard so far. You know, there was an old set of books written about space colonies and politics. The Foundation series, Isaac Asimov. We love to dream so it was about humans populating the entire galaxy...and the infighting that happened as a result. Do you know how one group gained and held control of the whole place?"

She began to make her way to the ship, motioning for Solia to follow. "They provided the technology that shot the rest forward, but held the secrets, it made the entire galaxy completely dependent on them. I think that's why there are a few races who are scared of you. That's probably why Vaz spoke out." Reyna shrugged as she shouldered her personal things.

"I guess its something to think about, but for what its worth, your contributions are fantastic."

There was still so much to get used to so Reyna promised herself to be impressed by her personal cabin later. Instead she made her way to the briefing room as the Reksh'an had instructed. In the bowels of the ship she could hear the drives being put online as the preparations for launch were well under way.

Meanwhile Bretziz was standing aside, just about to follow the few council members back into their discussions. She let them walk ahead as Solia called her back.

"You know my displaying favoratism to specific members is condemnable." She cautioned sternly before looking around to make sure they were not being watched and ducking into an empty corridor.

"And you must be on that ship before the final wamr up squences are completed. Be brief."

Vaz gave a start when he noticed Luthiel in the room. "Ah, forgive me, I was...lost in thought. This mission has me concerned." He paused for a moment, then added, "What do you make of these disappearing scientists? Do you think this could possibly be linked to the attacks we've been witnessing in space?"

There was a call from one of the engineers, final call for boarding, the ship would leave momentarily.
