Futuristic Nova One - A Galaxy United

Having taken his time to integrate into the ship's overall systems, Cooper decided to busy himself with a few mundane, yet helpful, practices.

Everything important had likely been checked, double-checked, and triple-checked by then, so there was no real need to run immediate diagnostics. Why not, therefore, give a few of those systems little test-runs? Cooper fired up the internal holographic systems throughout the ship first, lighting up a direct path from the entryway to the conference room, in order to help those that were unsure of their direction find their way to the initial briefing.

A pleasing set of chimes echoed from the many speakers throughout the corvette, followed by Cooper's voice. "Hello," he began, the standard, calm politeness of the Spectralites echoing throughout the hallway, "all key personnel are invited to make their way to the conference room at this time. Please follow the lighted pathways exclusively." It seemed that the intercoms were working as well; how wonderful.

Now, on to more important matters; they would require a bit of fanfare for their sendoff, yes? And in light of the new delegation that had arrived just that very day, it would perhaps be apt for the fanfare in question to be one of many things in their records. A bit of discussion would likely be required before picking something, for discussion was the way of the Union, but chances were there was at least something in the human databases worth using. Something happy, with a bit of an upbeat. Ah, there was one that may serve well, one from a little over a hundred years ago. Perhaps the humans would enjoy the throwback, he reasoned.

Spirits high, Cooper submitted the song for public consideration.

Kthara made his way towards the conference room as the subtle vibration of fusion units coming to power vibrated through the deck-plates under his feet. Occasionally a stronger vibration would pull his attention to his wrist panel, but each was nothing more than the members of his Sha'kinir reporting that they were aboard and either in their assigned quarters or at their assigned duty station. Kthara had stored his meager belongings in his cabin days before, when he had arrived at the station and been given his assignment. He briefly considered returning to his cabin and changing into a formal uniform for the meeting, but ingrained habits came to the fore, and his vacuum armor had been good enough for the ceremony, it was good enough for the meeting.

"It's not like the humans would know the difference between vacuum armor, assault armor, and a formal harness," he thought wryly. "Well, perhaps the human's Great Claw would. That one is... hmm, I don't actually know."

Stepping into an alcove so as not to impede the regular crew moving quickly about as they prepared the ship for departure, Kthara tapped a few queries into his DA (Digital Assistant). A moment later the answers scrolled quickly across the units small display, and Kthara felt himself nodding as he read the data.

"The Great Claw is female," he thought. "And the irritating one is male. It seems that the human male has something in common with the Ascended male. They are both rude, and obnoxious. Let us hope that the human does not turn out to be the same kind of chofaki the Ascended is."

Tapped a few more requests into his DA, Kthara resumed his walk towards the conference room. The information, or lack thereof, would be waiting for him on his terminal when he finally had a chance to head to his cabin. For now, it would be interesting to see what the command structure of this little, expedition, was going to look like.

Solia would look towards Bretziz. It was a grim look, one that was all too common on her face nowadays. "Bretziz, what I am doing right now, I want you to know I am NOT offending you, or any of the council members. I wouldn't bring this up to you if my instincts didn't tell me that this was the best option- You are the only one I can trust to tell me the truth. " Solia said. she then took a deep breath, before pulling a small device out of her pocket. "You know as well as I that public opinion of the Council is low, mainly because of my brother....I have thought this was because of the restrictions placed on us, because as you know, I have been pushing safer procedures and controlled ideas, trying to appease the public..." She said, before biting her lip.

"However....I've found out this is not the case. Not wholly. "

Their parents murder was deemed an accident, when a pirate accidentally hit the reactor on the ship, thus causing it to be destroyed. Solia grieved, but felt there was no other way to go but to move on. However, after digging through her brothers personal effects to learn his motives, the 'evidence' her brother gathered formed a pit in her stomach: At the time, her parents were outspoken critics of the Council like her brother, but they held large sway in the government. They were taken on the cruise to help relax things. Another was the fact that Mehrunes was scheduled to screen that route, but a week before the attack, had been asked on an emergency attack on a 'large scale' pirate raid.

Seems a matter of convenience, correct? Solia saw that her brother felt otherwise, and the logical part of her couldn't help, but agree.

The attack was too perfect, too clean. Her brother wrote that they knew EXACTLY where to strike, what route to take, and when all was said and done, not a trace was left behind. He also added and wrote on his mission report that the strike force was grossly over-exaggerated, that there were only a few dozen ships, hardly an emergency matter. Either the pirates had been tipped off, or it was exaggerated on purpose. Also, only the one ship was attacked.. All and all, it painted the Coalition in bad light, and pointed evidence directly at them. This didn't look like a regular pirate attack, it looked like an Execution. She honestly couldn't blame her brother for believing the Council set her parents up.

Solia would drop the data device into Bretziz's hands. "I managed to break into my Brother's computer, and found.....This. " She said, as it displayed everything in front of her- The accusations, the evidence supporting, as well his reasoning. It....didn't paint the council in a favorable light. If this became public knowledge, Dissent against the council would skyrocket.

"Bretziz, I need to know the truth.....Did the council have anything to do with my parent's death?"

Mehrunes would crack his neck as he boarded the Nova One (calling it that because saying 'the ship' would get confusing). He grabbed his sisters and his gear, mainly their computers and his military hardware. Placing them in their cabins, so they could set up and be prepared for anything, Mehrunes would travel across the ship, looking for others aboard to talk to. Mehrunes knew they'd be the people he'd have to rely on during the mission, and didn't want to leave any hard feelings. He may have his own personal vendetta against the council, but that didn't mean he hated the council races.

He just hoped they understood that.

Soon, Mehrunes would find Cooper working on a few mundane tasks, before placing a strange musical melody. Cocking his head to the side, Mehrunes would merely think it sounded quite lovely. Stepping forward, Mehrunes would speak up. "Cooper! Hello my friend. " Mehrune said. He didn't know if the Spectralites could feel any solid emotions....but Mehrunes felt a strong sense of loyalty to Cooper and his people, as well as a deep friendship to the little ball of information, technology, and if he didn't mind saying, pure awesomeness.

"Here my friend, like we promised- The Blueprints to Cyclonic Barrier Technology. Same deal as always, don't reveal this unless necessary. " Mehrunes said, giving him the storage device containing the information. "It is all prototype technology, but I hope you can find a use for it, as well as help up find what mistakes we made. " Mehrunes said. He knew that Cooper's would help almost anyone, and Mehrunes would offer that same hand of friendship to the little bot.

Though Cooper's core was plugged into the bridge systems, it was nonetheless standard for Spectralites to project a hollow body of themselves above the core itself, for the sake of remaining noticeable when interacting with technology directly. Though such had only become a habit, as far as they could tell, after they had rejoined the wider galaxy, the odd species nonetheless took to it rather readily, especially since it tended to make them a little easier to find.

And so it was that Cooper's shell turned around to look at Mehrunes as he entered, aperture shifting quietly as he once again took in the sight of the Ascended delegate. "Mehrunes, hello," he replied, his voice momentarily echoing through several of the bridge systems, before managing to focus solely on those most close to the man. "Will check. Will query with the Intelligence Union. Will check for mistakes," he rattled off quickly, panels flickering and fluttering in their usual way as a quick probing matrix, comprised of a series of holographic, interlocking shapes, briefly intersected the storage device in order to pull the necessary data from it.

"Any particular fields to focus?" Cooper asked, his attention falling away from the drive, and back to the one who had offered it, "may be very easy to check, depending. Replying with a full answer within the space of one standard cycle is probable. But, we will see."

Luthiel Celúbrindawen - Exobiologist

Luthiel smiled at the Reksh'an. "I apologize for sneaking up on you, Battlelord. You seemed very consumed by those thoughts, I did not want to interrupt." At the mention of the missing scientists, her smile was replaced by lightly pursed lips. She put down her dossier on the table before her and sighed. "The news of your missing scientists was felt far and wide, even on my planet." Luthiel broke eye contact with Vaz and looked off to the side. "Zadur Hren, do you know him? Perhaps not. He was part of the Reksh'an science team that went missing. We worked closely together on some projects before his disappearance. He spent some time on Imladris before this posting." She paused, remembering his booming voice. Hren was the first member of an "alien" species that she'd ever met. He was truly brilliant. The news of his disappearance is part of what sparked Luthiel to take this assignment. Science teams and vessels were generally off limits during interplanetary conflicts. Having a whole team disappear shook the academic and scientific communities deeply, despite their racial differences.

"I hope we find him, all of them, soon." The sincerity of her feelings were displayed on her face."Is that our first task? To go investigate their disappearance?"
