Nagi
Takamagahara - the Day of the Wedding

“Haha, I heard from Fuujin that you finally got yourself another Regalia!”

Nagi nodded, repressing the urge to sigh as the god next to him laughed. He knew his fellow wind god liked to talk, and that Fujin generally had a friendly relationship with others gods, but the one beside him was the last one he wanted he wanted to know about Kaname. Ryuujin—also known as Owatasumi. The Dragon God.
d7da8a9ad966754d6e0324f5fce50692.jpg
The tutelary diety of the sea. A god as old as Fujin, if not older, whose volatile temper matched his legend and rank. It was really no surprise that such a god would be invited. Though ending in the same table as him was a stroke of luck that Nagi did not want.

“Hopefully this one’s more durable than your previous ones.”
Ryuujin slurred merrily as he slung an arm over Nagi’s shoulder, a cup of sake in hand. “It’s no fun when they shatter too easily.”

The Travel God’s hands clenched on his lap. There had been no ill-intent in the words. Ryuujin was drunk. Reminding himself of that kept Nagi from doing something he knew he would later regret.
“You had put up a pretty good fight though. I was impressed! It was more than what I’d expected from a god who’s claim to fame came from a love story.”

More laughter.

“Love brings out the best of us,” Nagi replied benignly. “More importantly, I think you’ve had quite enough to drink, Lord Ryuujin.”

“Awww, why? It’s a party, ain’t it? All the tension’s only gonna kill the mood. Seriously. It pisses me off.” Ryuujin suddenly pulled him closer, whispering in his ear. The serious tone made Nagi realize that Ryuujin might not be drunk after all. “See that regalia there? She’s a Nora. She can try to hide it, but it’s obvious to any god with eyes.”

Nagi blinked. “Isn’t that…?”

“Yeah,” Ryuujin continued to speak softly. “Amaterasu’s runaway. Why don’t you try to flirt with her? I betcha’ she’d make a powerful divine instrument. More so than your current ones.”

Nagi frowned. He was glad none of his regalias were around to hear this. Tatsume was going over dance steps with Hiname in the garden. Kaname…well…he wasn’t sure where Kaname went. The snack bar probably. “I don’t need a more powerful divine instrument. Besides, I can’t imagine why she’d agree...”

Ryuujin rolled his eyes. “You’re a god. She doesn’t have to agree.”

“That’s...a little rude.” That was putting it nicely. It was completely unfair to the regalia in question.

“Haha, she’s a Nora. She wouldn’t mind. It’d just be a new notch under her belt.” The disgust in his tone was evident.

Nagi shook his head. “It’d be rude to the god she is with as well.”

“Think of it as a game to lighten the atmosphere. If you or the other god really can’t stand it, just release her afterwards. It’s no big deal.”

This time, Nagi didn’t bother to hold back his sigh. “You won’t leave me alone until I do this will you?”

Ryuujin’s grin was shark-like. Dragon-like, really... and his golden eyes glowed. “No.”

Ducking free from Ruujin’s grasp, Nagi plucked a glass of champagne from one of the servers with the lightness of a wind spirit. “Fine. But I’m doing it my way.”

This was why he didn’t much like returning to the Heavenly Plain. Politics. Hurtful games. Discrimination. Ryuujin was a god know for his temper which, if not quelled, tended to turn seas and capsize ships. Innocent lives of travelers would be lost—whether they worshipped him or not. Nagi would rather play Ryuujin's game than start a fight like last time.

His regalias must have it tough.

He loosened his tie which had grown rather uncomfortable. No. Not just his tie. The entire outfit was plain uncomfortable—courtesy of Tatsume who insisted he look his best for such an important gathering of gods. Hopefully his regalias were enjoying themselves more than he was. The last few weeks had been spent practicing with Kaname, doing his duties as a Travel God (which Tatsume doubled to make up for all the money he had spent), deciding on a wedding present, and figuring out how to apologize to Hasuna. He'd sent a letter, of course. However, he had a feeling that meeting her (and her regalias) would still be a little...awkward...given how the last meeting turned out.

Not that what I'm about to do will be any less awkward.

He could hear the wind spirits giggling.

Yasha & Regalias
Travelling along the rooftops of buildings in Kyoto

"Keeeeyaaaaahahahahahahaaaaaaaa!" Those were the only sounds that were escaping the mouth of an exhilarated god as he jumped from rooftop to rooftop in search of game, and in the case of the god his prey was Phantoms. The grotesque manifestations of human's negative emotions. Today was a fortunate day for the eccentric god as he slashed away at the ambiguously shaped creatures. "Emi-chan, are you keeping track of how many we've brought down?!"

"Y-yes sir!"
"Hahaha that's probably a no! Don't worry Yasha I got you!"

Currently the hysterically cackling god was accompanied by two of his regalias, Emi and Kentaro, or in their vessel forms, Momoki and Etsuki. The skies were clearly than they were previously when the large storm had taken place. Yasha was mostly on the sidelines for the fight in Tokyo until some other god dragged him into the fight which they eventually moved to Kyoto to finish off the enduring storm. Since then the spots of Phantoms were sparse and sporadic, but they were still appearing frequently nonetheless. So with any chance he spotted a bunch of Phantoms, the Havoc god would go crazy to slaughter them.

Not far behind the god were two other figures following after him, but they were not fellow gods rather they were his other two Regalias, Junko and Goru. "I wonder if he realizes that he finished all of the ones around the area off. Should we stop him?" the female of the pair glanced over to the larger, older man for an answer. "Perhaps if he starts to try hitting objects. Although we should let him burn out his energy."
"I swear Goru you treat him more like a child than a god. Then again you are not wrong to do so. Wait I'm sensing another presence nearby," Junko slowed down her pace to a stop as she stood on the powerline looking around the area in search of an anomaly. Finally she noted a man dressed in all black, who was wearing a kitsune mask, and a handsome (in Junko's eyes) appearing man standing next to him. What was even weirder about the situation was that there was a girl right next to the pair, that Junko initially inferred was a human, until she spotted the spirit cord on the girl. "Now this is an interesting bunch to see. And that is rare considering we're the only odd bunch I'm aware of."
"Junko it appears as though they are here for Yasha. I want you to go down there and see what business they have with him, but be careful. Who knows what Yasha has done this time. While you do that I'm going to retrieve him."
"Don't mind if I do," Junko smirked, her eyes clearly on the tough-looking man who wasn't wearing a mask.

Akumu, Yoru, & Rin
On a random rooftop of a Kyoto building
"So remind me again what are we doing here? I don't remember you ever being a fan of sight-seeing," Yoru stepped forward to stand close to Rin as he asked his question. With as much potential the words served for sarcasm, it mostly came out monotonous from Yoru's mouth. The trio of the god, blessed regalia, and half-phantom had been busy lately working on various techniques and experiments to progress their plan, or really Rin's plan. Even though they were progressing smoothly, their numbers were small so Rin thought about branching out for help. Although it bothered her to think that she needed more help and probably needed to persuade someone else onto her side, she reasoned with herself it was all for a good cause.

"Well I've thought about it and as much as I wish to keep this to the three of us...we'll be needing more hands on our side. There are still quite a number of gods out there as much as they are declining. And I had one particular god in mind who would probably take little convincing and would probably join us without too many questions," the half-phantom girl leaned forward on the edge of the building, resting a hand above her eyes to block the sun from bothering them as she scanned the area in search of certain, golden-haired god. Instead she watched as a woman dressed in what seemed to be the traditional, Japanese, warrior outfit, but with a more modern taste to it. Rin was ready to greet the woman when she felt the tip of a sword on her nose. "Well hello to you too," despite having a weapon to her face, Rin stood there with a smile and her hands up.

Yoru quickly responded by knocking away the short blade, "It is rude to point weapons to strangers." The warrior woman's eyes glanced over to Yoru and quickly looked away to try and hide her slowly blushing face. However Rin caught sight of this and decided to use it to her advantage, "Oh dear Yoru! Thank you for saving me!" Rin even threw herself onto the regalia who simply stood there confused. The teasing girl knew that the woman wanted to respond something back but Akumu had stepped in at the last second, "Rin please. Let us get to the point." Just to be sure that his words were heard clearly he removed the kitsune mask and glared over to his accomplice. "Fine. Fine, fine, fine. Boo I swear Akumu sometimes you can be fun but most of the time you're a bore," Rin pushed herself off of Yoru at this point and looked over to the now confused woman, "We're here for Yasha."

Yasha & Regalias
On a random rooftop of a Kyoto building

Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness, what did Yasha do this time? Junko looked around in search of her short sword, which the man, who was known as Akumu, noticed since he spoke up, "Do not worry. He has done nothing wrong. We are here because we wanted to talk to him." Junko's light violet eyes looked over to the black-haired man, deciding whether to trust his words or not. But before she could make a decision the sound of whining was heard nearby. Immediately recognizing the voice, Junko took a large step to her left in time for Goru to land right where she previously stood.

"You said that all you wanted to do is talk, right? Then let us talk," the buff man gently placed down his god that he previously had in his grip like a ragdoll. "Goruuuuko how many times do I have to tell you to stop holding me like a damsel in distress?" it appeared as though Yasha had not realized where he currently stood, and that others were seeking to speak to him.

"Uh-hum Yasha. If I may speak, I wanted to ask something of you. That is if you have the time," the half-phantom girl stepped forward, clearing her throat in hopes to capture the havoc god's attention. Hearing an unfamiliar voice must've alerted the golden-haired man as his demeanor immediately changed to a slightly more defensive state. Despite his change he was still holding a slight smirk to his mouth and a mischievous sparkle in his eyes, "Well this is rather unheard of. Usually other far shore residents are quick to tell me to stay away and that is about it. But from your words it seems that this something different. You've piqued my interest little girl, considering that one, you are a half-phantom and two, I'm curious to hear what you have to say."

"Wonderful. And yes, do not worry for I do not wish for you to go away rather I wish for you to stay and perhaps help me. First let me introduce ourselves. My name is Rin. This is Yoru over here, who is the blessed regalia for, Akumu over there. Now what I wanted to ask of you..."

It took Rin a few minutes to put into words what she wanted Yasha to do. In between her pauses Yasha had reverted back Emi and Kentaro back to their human forms and quickly returned to listen to her proposition. Emi, Kentaro, Junko, and Goru could all tell that Yasha was becoming excited from Rin's words as he began to shiver in place. The four all had mixed feelings to Rin's proposal but they knew at this point Yasha was wanting to see it through. After all they also wanted to see some excitement in their life, and Yasha was sure to be the one to deliver it.

"A very scrupulous plan Rin-chan. You've truly put a lot of emotion into this plan. And to think that I am not the only god on board with this," Yasha's red eyes glanced up to Akumu as he said this. His timing was perfect to look over as he noted a bright bird flying close by, "Oh and what do we have here? It seems to be something from heaven, yet it appears as though I have not received anything. Taiki come!" In an instant a labrys appeared in Yasha's hand and he threw the weapon towards the bird causing it to crash onto the rooftop, but right before it reached the surface it quickly changed into a scroll. "Bingo!" he exclaimed with pride. Since the scroll landed closer to Akumu, the black-haired god picked it up and began reading over its contents.

"It appears to be an invitation to a wedding from a pair of gods to other gods."
"Whaaaaaaat?! And they didn't invite me? Boo-hoo...no one ever invites me to anything anymore...not after I started a bonfire with a shrine." The havoc god dramatically pouted his lips as he picked up his labrys from the surface, reverting it back to Goru. Rin on the other hand had snatched the scroll out of Akumu's hands, "Perfect! Ladies and gentlemen, we're going to crash a wedding." The young girl turned around to face the gathered regalias and gods with a wide smile, already picturing the many outcomes.

Udeya
Takamagahara, The Wedding
Even though Hagaka told him what the wedding would be like and how he was expected to act in Takamagahra, Ude still felt severely underprepared as Hagaka joined them. He felt like he didn't belong in the far shore with the gods.

Everything about this made him uneasy. It didn't seem like that long ago that he was content to watch the sky all day with Inbu, refusing to seek out other gods. And now he was going to be surrounded by them.

"You look pretty," Inbu commented, messing with the cuffs of his shirt. He paused, "I mean, not that you don't normally, but..." he trailed off, face red.

Ude looked back at his shrine when Hagaka asked him if he was ready. It was one of his least favorite places, if only because everything in it belonged to his past self. He only brought Hagaka there to rest, but he would rather stay surrounded by memories he didn't make than be in Takamagahara. He put a hand on both Hagaka and Inbu, teleporting there before he could back out.

It was like nothing he ever saw before. Ude spent a few seconds looking at everything before he remembered what he was, and that other gods probably didn't spend their first time in Takamagahara acting like a tourist in a foreign land. Inbu stepped forward, pulling the invitation from his jacket. Once it was inspected, they were guided inside by maidens and left on their own.

Ude had been expecting it, had spent weeks preparing for this exact scenario with Hagaka, but seeing a room full of powerful deities still surprised and unnerved him. Though he felt a little less out of place when he saw how much the room resembled a human wedding, from the tables to the pre-prepared food in the back.

"What's next?" he asked Hagaka, being completely out of his element.

Kaname
Takamagahara, The Wedding
Kana squeezed the pastry between his fingers, watching cream ooze from the top. He was reduced to a shell of himself where he was so uninterested in everything around him that playing with a pastry was more entertaining.

He popped the snack in his mouth and glanced over the other gods in attendance. He thought of what Tatsume told him when they arrived, something about not making Nagi look bad, and bits and pieces about how he was expected to behave. Kana grabbed another pastry. He didn't bother trying to interact with any of the other regalia around, because he knew that somehow, it would end with the old man lecturing him.

He would have went out to the garden, just to have something to do, but Devil was out there. More often than not when he talked to her it ended with one of them leaving the room. And going back to Nagi was out too--he wasn't at the table Kana left him at, and even with his green hair, Nagi didn't stand out much in a room full of gods.

He glanced at the blue-haired god left at the table. The sea dragon god. Or the god of the sea who owned a dragon? Or was called a dragon? Er, something like that. Kana knew that Nagi didn't like him much, but he didn't know the details of what happened between them. Unless he had to, he would stay away from him.

Kana sighed, turning back to the pastries. Hopefully the wedding started before the next century.

Azani
Takamagahara, The Wedding

Time had passed since the confrontation and when Ai had again refused to let her name be removed, Azani guessed she understood it but she just didn't really know why one would want to make their reputation worse by having a name given by a reaper upon them. Well Sachi was staying on for a more permanent role as Azani had decided that Ai had chosen to stay with the other god not just for a little while but more that she likely wouldn't return. Azani didn't like it she felt she had been abandoned again and left alone, and while she had Sachi she did feel Sachi would leave her as soon as a better option came along after all Azani had needed to rent the two plain black kimonos that they wore she was a shrineless poor god. Well for now she was not alone she had Sachi who Azani was still keeping a little distant as she just couldn't figure the girl out.

At the wedding Azani stuck with her own kind other death gods all dressed in black most in kimonos some in suits all looking as if they were at a funeral over a joyous wedding. the other gods gave them a wide berth and likely many were surprised such beings were even invited. Azani like many of them would just attend the ceremony and then get out of the area and get back to work as none of them had shrines and they were almost all unknown many fearing they could vanish but they did not. They remained grouped up a stain of black among the other colors and a somber attitude among the normally happy event.

Amaterasu

Takamagahara(The Wedding)

The Goddess had turned her head from the group she was interacting with at the mention of her name from the table to her right. It seemed the dragon god and god of travel were at odds with one another over something, she mused at the potential thought of a lovers quarrel but quickly dismissed it. That sort of interaction was severely frowned upon in heaven and though she was goddess of the sun even she could not shine light on the modern ways of the world.
Upon her spying she noticed the evident white blotch that flowed through the others her eyes focusing to ensure she was not seeing a ghost. The comments of the blue haired kami confirmed it. After so long Tsuzu had appeared and she was beside another...and she was a Nora still.
The anger welled within her but not towards the girl as the fateful night ran through her head once more....
"Susanoo after all this time...you have done nothing...that poor woman....Damn you stubborn man"
She whispered to herself before her attentions returned to the continuing conversation being held in her small clique. As the festivities continued near a back wall a kami robed in traditional cloth marred dark blue sat hunched over a bottle of sake dangling precariously from his finger tips.

Susanoo

Takamagahara(The Wedding)

The man sighed as he felt what Amaterasu had seen. Ametaru was here and her name passed over his drunken lips silently as his free hand that was propped over his knee closed into a fist.
"....I'm not ready...I can't face her"
He cursed to himself as his mind reverted back to a morning in spring when the blossoms amongst the cherry trees were white just about to glow their pink sheen. The sun had risen over the lands and the dark threat that was the great phantom Orochi who had almost become a god in its own right had been slain for a fortnight now.

Atop the mountain at a Sanctuary of Inaba stood two kami their clothing bracing against their skin from the unrelenting winds.
At the base of the mountain stood their regalia, the woman Amaterasu goddess of the sun interjected.
"Susanoo You can't be serious, she only has you...It is your responsibility!"
"I can't!" He yelled in retort as his anger pushed through and cut off the woman before him.
"Everytime i look at her...I can't stand to be reminded of that night, Please Amaterasu do this for me."
He exclaimed almost bringing himself to tears.
The goddess mulled over the thoughts long and hard knowing what he had done....the price he thought he could pay had indeed been to great to save the mortals he cared so much for.
The toll was unbearable.
"Why not just release her...or..."

"Kill her?!, that is what you were going to ask of me?!, Don't you think i have thought of that...No Ammy...I can't be the one to hurt her...."
The god confided in his friend this last time about his intentions to leave the newly obtained regalia and he had asked that she take his place as her handler.
"She needs to know...why"
"No"
"Susanoo you will only hurt her and yourself at this rate.."
"I cannot do that to Ameta....Kusanagi.."
The female was taken back by his sudden use of the regalias vessel name.
"Is it so encumbering that you cannot even call her name...fine then...As your friend i will do this."
She expressed anger finding her own voice now, hurt by his inability to face this.
"Thank you..."
He replied sullenly but as he turned to walk down the hill she warned him further.
"But as your friend i must also tell you how much of a coward you are...and no matter this outcome you have doomed her to a fate worse than death...that Susanoo is on you"
The kami of heroes and men halted briefly unable to face his oldest comrade as she stared searching for a sign of understanding and compassion. For him to take it all back and to rid himself of the guilt he felt. His answer was not the one she was looking for...
"I know...take care of her...the way i couldn't"
He exasperated softly as he continued his trek down the vast decline.
Amaterasu sighed consigning herself to what she was about to do and followed...

The sun was high in the sky by the time both Kami had rejoined the regalia.
Susanoo however kept walking.
Ametaru stood from her seated position underneath a cherry tree and began to follow but Amaterasu spoke up.
"No my dear Ame...You have been gifted to me, you are my regalia now.."
The girl was confused and looked back to her kami to confirm but Susanoo did not look back or acknowledge her.
"Wait...Master!, Tell me whats going on?!"
She called out as she ran towards him but the incantation had already begun and the goddess had grabbed her wrist to hold her still.
Amaterasu's eyes were filled with regret and moreover sadness..for both what she was putting the poor girl through and to watch her friend walk away from everything he had ever striven for as a god.
“Oh wandering spirit with nowhere to go and nowhere to return"
"Susanoo please what did i do?!"
" I grant you a place to belong. My name is Amaterasu"
"I can do better i promise just please dont leave me!!!"
"Bearing a posthumous name, you shall remain here on this earth"
"Susanoo No!!"
"With this name and it’s alternate, I use my life to make you a regalia fit to be wielded by a god"
"Lady Amaterasu please stop!, i want to go with him...just let me go!!"
The goddess paused briefly to shake her head and apologize as she wrote the name and held onto Ame's wrist with the other as the girl strained against the Kami's strength.

"I am truly sorry...forgive me..Your name is Tsuzu. As a vessel, Tsurugi!...”

The regalia's cry pierced the morning sky as the man walked on not looking back even once and even during that moment and the time that had followed after...she had never once...not once...blighted him.

Susanoo shook his head of the images that had been flashing before his eyes before taking another long drink of the liquor he held dispelling completely the memory of that morning. He stood and pushed past some other kami making his way out of the reception area and to a balcony where he looked down from the heavens onto the landscape of the earth that had changed so much during his time...

"Were just not ready....not yet..."

Ame

Takamagahara(The Wedding)

The Nora turned smiling as Inbu complimented her briefly casting a glance Ude's way to see if he had run.
She knew he would rather not be here or have stayed at the shrine..which was at her insistence. Yet she hoped he could feel her intent and worry of why it was important for him to be present.
"For that Inbu....you can grace me with the first dance"
She replied whilst grabbing his hand and taking him to the dance floor.
She placed her hands against his upper back an lower waist as she closed in toward him.
She smiled and began to slowly take steps moving along with the beat and adjusting her footing as she moved in a circular pattern.
She giggled happily as she took in the scenery around them. For a wedding it seemed the tension was holding but some were having a good time. Herself included.

"Just follow my lead and hold onto me okay?, Oh its been forever since ive danced like this...the last time was with Ude in fact"
She commented happily but her smile began to fade as she felt eyes on her.
A god sat staring at a table not too far from where they danced and another was approaching with a glass of champagne.
She knew him as Nagi patron of travel and the wind.

It was not him or his expression that halted her rather it was the goddess positioned a few feet behind his company.
Amaterasu and she was looking at someone with those eyes...those sad eyes of a friend who missed their companion. That look was only reserved for one person....Susanoo.
"Susanoo.."
The girl repeated the thought aloud as she let her arms drop and stepped back from the incoming Nagi and Inbu.
"Im sorry Inbu....i need some air, can you check on Ude for me?...Be back in a bit"
Hagaka asked rather frantically before turning and making a bee line for the awning that overhung the vast expanse of sky below. Reaching the smooth stone architectual railing she placed her hands on it and breathed deeply trying to calm herself. He was here...He was here...what was she going to do?, should she leave?, Ude and Inbu were still around and she said she would be back....The female whined inwardly but her gaze fell on his own as she turned her head to sigh.
Both their eyes went wide and neither spoke for what felt like forever. It was not until Susanoo moved to leave that Ame found her voice.

"You....your drunk...you should take care....of yourself more...Susa.."
"Oh yeah?!, and I suppose a Nora like you would do that for me?!.....Just stay away from me...damn stray"
Ame was cut off and after a sharp squeal of sadness filled her she said nothing as he spoke. He hated her...what had she done that was so wrong?, why did she deserve this..
Her confusion snapped to irritation.

"Your the one who made me this way!!, I never had a choice!....How could you?!, Do you know how much you hurt me?... Answer me Susanoo!"
The kami had reached the entrance to the deck and turned his head to face her. His own eyes flooded with despair and regret. So much so that if he were human the amount of Ayakashi produced would be too great.
He softly responded but before she could question him further he dissipated traveling far from Takamagahara...to where she couldnt follow.

"More than you know...but i can't tell you yet...soon"
The Nora's eyes welled with tears as he left her alone once again as he had done in the past but this time... It hurt less.
"Damnt, Damnt.....Damnt"
She began wiping her eyes using her kimono sleeve as she cursed under her breath. Doing her best to keep her emotions in check for the other kami that had named her...

Hasuna
Hasuna.jpg
Heaven, Wedding

Hasuna was really proud of her work. Showing off her brand new beautiful Regalia, they were all dressed in clothes that mixed elements from both traditional Japanese attire and more modern, western style dresses, though it was definitely closer to a kimono than a dress. While the boys were dressed in suits and ties. She also tried to school her new regalia in proper etiquette but it was much harder to get them to learn. Oh well, she was just glad to be at the wedding. Maybe Hasuna could even see Nagi again and apologize for her behavior. When she got his letter she felt bad about not letting Nagi explain his point of view at the coffee shop. Why don't you five go ahead and mingle while I go meet up with the happy couple, I haven't seen Nobunaga or Aiki in so long. Before she could though, Hasuna got veritable swarmed by Shrieking Goddesses. Oh my gosh! Hasuna I haven't seen you in forever! And who are those two cuties you brought with you?! AIKI come quick! Hasuna is here! Hasuna was a bit surprised, and a little uncomfortable, looking nervously at her Regalia for support. Oh, well you see I found these two during that big storm a few days ago. And they are a bit new so they aren't really used to being regalia yet.

Yuuken
Takamagahara - Wedding

Yuu had never been to any weddings and from what he could tell they were positively boring. It was just a bunch of gods milling around and talking about politics and nothing he cared about. He awkwardly stood by the food table. He hadn't been used for any fighting since a few days ago on the rooftop. He could still feel it in his bones, he actually LIKED it. He wanted to get stronger so he could protect the mortals and serve his goddess better. Sure cooking and cleaning was great and all, but how was he supposed to protect if he got tired off one little phantom?

A sigh escaped his lips and he stared at nothing in particular. He took a puff pastry and rolled it between his pointer and thumb fingers. Where was Shizuya anyways, he had told him to go mingle and now he couldn't find her anywhere. He wasn't particularly interested in conversing with Kamis. Maybe the other regalias, he was just nervous. He was always isolated in his second chance. With only Shizuya as company, maybe he could picture like he was talking to her and make friends that way?
He chewed down the pastry and moved to mingle among the guests. He pulled at his tie every so often, it was uncomfortable wearing a suit. It somehow made him uncomfortable to wear such a thing, he wasn't sure why. He didn't care about his past life and experiences and why this would be an issue.

He approached a long haired regalia girl and clenched his fists. "Hello." he greeted her. "Are you bored too?" he asked.

Shizuya

Shizuya's smile was beginning to twitch as she fought to keep it on her face. She currently stood in the middle of a group of Kami who were talking to her. She had been swarmed soon after she had arrived in one of her old dresses. It was to be expected, considering this was her first real public appearance in three years.
"Will the couple be happy together?"
"Is this union fated to end badly?"
"Will this really keep them from fading?"

Shizuya's expression became even more strained. "I haven't even seen the couple yet. I know no more than you."
This did not deter them.
"What have you been doing, anyway?"
"Right I haven't seen you since that nasty business with Hachiman."
"How have you been holding up?"

As always, questions about her well being came after questions about fate.
"As you can see I'm perfectly fine." She really didn't like that way they talked about the incident with Hachiman. As though it had been a small thing. As though her regalia's death meant nothing.

"I'm glad to hear it. Have you seen anything about me?"
"Not you specifically."
"What about me?"
"If I had I would have told you." Shizuya responded. She caught Hachiman's eye from across the room and he started making his way over to her. "Excuse me." She said politely before getting away from the crowding gods. He was likely coming over to apologize. She didn't want to hear it.
She hoped Yuuken was having a better time than she was. As it stood she just wanted to go home.

Kimi
Takagamahara
"We wouldn't be here without you. Don't forget that too." Kimi responded to Hasuna's explanation and gave her goddess a reassuring smile before locking arms with Kokoro and giving her friend a cheeky grin.

Kimi was secretly excited and enjoyed the etiquette lessons Hasuna gave, but when she learnt that it had way more rules and when it started dragging out for longer than she expected. She took it all back. The number of spoons or which fork to use for an 10 course meal was ridiculous. They should just use a pair of chopsticks for everything. It makes it easier to clean up. She did enjoy the little samples of fancy food Hasuna had made for her lessons; Kimi had to admit that the goddess was one hell of a good cook. That was the main reason why she sat through the whole thing. Though she barely got any etiquette than when she first started.

Finally, the day of the awaited wedding came. It had only been a few days, but boy was Kimi sick and tired of being in the far shore. It felt so peaceful in the home she almost felt out of place. She still wanted to train to fight phantoms after all. Not sit on her bum and keep her back straight for hours. She grumbled and groaned softly as Hasuna dressed her. She had to admit the outfit was pretty cute, but she still felt rather stuffy in it. There was less freedom of movement in a dress. At least it didn't wrap around her legs tightly. She's seen those types of skirts before in the near shore, where girls could barely stretch their legs far enough to walk properly and ended up looking like an awkward penguin. Instead, the dress she wore now was airy and ended around the middle of her calves. Thinking that Hasuna did this purposely to prevent it from becoming dirty. She pulled a little at the collar of the kimono dress, so that it wasn't too tight around her neck. She pouted at herself in the mirror, Kimi didn't think she suited these fancy things. Kokoro on the other hand, looks absolutely stunning in her red kimono. The raven-haired beaut looked prettier, if that was possible. She snickered slightly thinking of how many heads will turn for her, maybe even stealing the attention from the bride. The way Hasuna looked at them both shocked her a little, was it pride and... love?

Within seconds of teleporting to the venue, screams from other gods of all shapes and sizes surrounded Hasuna. Kimi shook her head, "Nope. No. Not staying here. I'm going to look for some sweets."

Soon enough, she found the long table displaying light snacks. The twinkle in her eyes matched the shiny sugar glazing of the desserts. Kimi decided on a cute little strawberry tart first. Picking it up with her fingers, she popped it into her mouth whole. Shivering from the perfect balance of sweet and sour. A crowd had started to gather near her, and she couldn't tell if they were gods or regalias, and she certainly wasn't going to wait or listen to their conversation to find out. She moved to the quieter end, not without grabbing a fistful of candies on her way.

"Hello. Are you bored too?"

Brows raised slightly at the young stranger, 'So-so... cute...!' Kimi cleared her throat, shaking off the urge to hug the little man. "Yeah, I hope they start soon. Candy?" She offered the few left on her palm before introducing herself.

"My name's Kimi, by the way. I'm one of Hasuna's regalia."

Jukuren
Takagamahara
"I'm gonna grab some snacks for us!" A child spoke up. Hopping off the chair, Shinri skipped to the snack table. And piled treats on a plate without shame.

"Ok!" The silver haired god responded to his young regalia, not looking up from his hand held console. "Kiri, follow me closely. The final boss will appear soon." The older regalia, Kiri grunted in acknowledgement. They were currently playing a newly released game on their Nintendo DS. It had a co-op mode that Juku appreciated since they could all play together.

When the god arrived at the wedding venue, it was already pretty packed. Gods and regalias mingled across the rooom, often sticking to their "clique". Juku had his hands shoved in the pockets of his trousers, plopping himself on to an empty seat. Kiri and Shinri followed suit, swinging out a black rectangular device and turning it on. Juku had his own in the pocket of his black jacket. With a smile on his face, his two colored eyes slowly raked the room, causing hushed whispers from the gods he didn't even know. He stopped at a familiar one and hummed quietly. When Enya's eyes met his, Juku smirked, waving cheekily as he casually leaned back into his chair. Both his regalias gave him questioning looks, but he dismissed it with a shrug. "Just someone I used to know."

Juku glanced at Kiri, chuckling at how concentrated he was. It was his turn now, and the god allowed him to make the choice, wanting him the enjoy the game instead of showing him every step just to win it. He found his quiet, calculative regalia adorable. The fact that he was in a suit playing a video game in a social event makes it all the more adorable. He turned his attention to find Shinri talking to someone. The young regalia was more sociable and outspoken, it wasn't a surprise at his age. Both of them are unique in their own way, and he wouldn't exchange his team for anyone else.

"Hey, onii-san. You wanna play a game? I'm sure Juku-sama will let you play. You've got nothing to lose, and it'll help to pass the time quicker than looking all miserable here."

Udeya
Takamagahara, The Wedding
Ude felt a little abandoned as Hagaka pulled Inbu away to dance, but he stayed back and watched them. Inbu was awkward in his steps, unused to dancing, but he was doing a good job of keeping up with her. He was grinning at her, and they both looked like they were enjoying themselves. That made him happy.

He grabbed a drink from a server, and glanced at his distorted reflection in the glass. He would pretend to be a god for as long as the wedding lasted, if it made Hagaka and Inbu smile. Ude glanced up when Inbu came back without Hagaka. He frowned.

"Where's Hagaka?"

Inbu shrugged, "Said she needed some air. But something was wrong," he glanced towards the balcony. "I think she saw someone. She said 'Susanoo' right before she left."

A deep sense of hurt and sadness suddenly overwhelmed Ude, and he took a small step back, the strength of it taking him by surprise. It was like nothing he had ever felt before.

"Ude?" Inbu asked, concerned.

Ude strode out to the balcony and found Hagaka there, crying. He went over to her and wrapped his arms around her without a word. She had done the same for him weeks ago, when they met for the first time. He wouldn't ask her what happened unless he knew she wanted to talk about it, but the least he could do was comfort her.

Kaname
Takamagahara, The Wedding
Kana leaned against the table, in the middle of making a makeshift castle with the wrapped candies when he realized he was being spoken to. He turned, blinking at the empty space in front of him. The disembodied voice went on, coming from somewhere below him.

He slowly looked down, at the child regalia asking him to play a game. Kana did another sweep over the crowd, but he still couldn't spot anyone with bright green hair. Neither did he see any signs of abnormal wind activity. Kana briefly saw Hasuna and her brigade of regalia, but his eyes moved past them. He had no interest in playing nice with the pregnancy god, or getting in between her and the swarm of gods around her.

Kana glanced at the child again.
"Sure, why not?" He had nothing better to do.

Nagi
Takamagahara, The Day of the Wedding

A vibrant spirit.

That was what Nagi thought as he watched Kusanagi lead another regalia into a dance. It was customary for the wedding couple to start the first dance—at least in the human weddings he’d seen. However, Nagi didn’t know how gods did things. Given that this was the first wedding ritual in a millennia, many gods probably felt the same. Hence the tension.

He’d caught the emotion when Kusanagi met gazes with Her Majesty, Ameterasu, but he didn’t have a clear understanding of the feelings conveyed. In a non-assuming pace, he follow the regalia as she made her escape, inclining his head to the Queen of the Heavens as he did so. She looked different than he remembered. Then again, gods did tend to change their appearance throughout the ages. Nagi was no different. Having lost his regalias, his current attire was much…simpler.

It wasn’t as if he knew Lady Ameterasu that well either. Fuujin introduced them once…and he paid his respects to her when he’d first obtained his shrine and made a home in Heaven. That was pretty much it.

Approaching the balcony, he heard snippets of the conversation between Kusanagi and Lord Susanoo. Enough for him to deduce that Kusanagi did not desire to be a Nora. That her status had been forced on her—and that she still deeply cared for her first god. Seeing the regalia wipe her tears made him halt in his steps just short of entering. Could he really make such a request of her knowing all that?

Then the god she’d been with arrived and encased her in his arms. Scorned by one god. Loved by another. Smiling, Nagi brought the wineglass to his lips. It would seem his intervention wouldn’t be needed. Nora or not, Kusanagi already had people looking after her. Averting his eyes, so as to give the couple their privacy, Nagi decided to hold off his talk with the snow-haired regalia for now.

Ryuujin and his games could wait.

“Lord Nagi! Lord Nagi! I think I’m ready! Tatsume says I’ve finally got the steps down!”

Nagi raised an eyebrow as Hiname ran up to him, flushed with excitement from her accomplishment. He glanced at Tatsume who shrugged—his impeccable expression conveying that he did his best. Nagi nodded, then-setting aside the drink— smiled at Hiname and held out his hand. He was fully prepared to have his toes stepped on for the rest of the night. “Well then~ May I have this dance, Hiname-chan.”

“W-wait,” Hiname brought her hands up and looked away shyly. “I’m all sweaty. And I need to fix my dress first.”

He blinked as he watched his regalia dash off to the nearest restroom.

“Your bravery is commendable, My Lord.”

Nagi laughed. “If it’s you that taught her, Tatsume, I’m sure everything will be fine. Besides, You know as well as I do that Hiname-chan worked hard for tonight. Though…” Nagi hummed thoughtfully. “I think I would’ve preferred it if Kaname-kun danced with her. It might improve their relationship…,”

“It’d surely be quite a sight to see.”

It wasn’t hard for Nagi to locate Kaname-kun amongst the crowd of gods and regalias. Perhaps it was because he was a Travel God. Perhaps it was because of the connection they shared. Or, perhaps it was just that Nagi had keen eyesight. Whichever the case, Nagi easily caught sight of his regalia following another regalia to Jukuren’s table. A young god of games that Nagi had only ever heard in passing. At best, Kaname-kun would enjoy himself playing games. At worst, he would have his pride battered by being beaten at games by child. Either way, Nagi saw no harm in Kaname-kun mingling with such a god. It might even alleviate some of the teen’s boredom which, knowing Kaname-kun, must’ve reached new heights by now.

“What do you think of him, Tatsume?”

“He is a regalia you’ve chosen, My Lord.”

“You’ve been with Kaname-kun for a couple of weeks now,” Nagi prompted. “Surely you’ve formed more of an opinion than that.”

“He is…different…than any of the regalias you’ve possessed in the past. Not lacking in potential. However, his volatile nature may prove problematic.”

“I like how he’s different. Besides,” Nagi played idly with the flowers in a nearby vase. “I know I’ve given you plenty of problems myself with the way I choose to live.”

“The problems of the God are the problems of the Regalia,” Tatsume pushed up his glasses. “Speaking of which, I’ve noticed Lord Ryuujin has been glaring at you for quite some time, My Lord.”

“Ah,” Picking a rose from the arrangement, Nagi twirled it between his fingers. “I may end up doing something that could prove to be…problematic…later. Do you think I could count on you to pick of the pieces if it ends up falling apart, Tatsume?”

“Always.”

The single, straight answer from his most dependable regalia had no hesitation whatsoever. An unwavering loyalty that hadn’t faded no matter how many decades passed since his name had been called. Nagi appreciated it of course. He would be the worst sort of god not to. However, he couldn’t deny that it also added a bit of weight to his chest.

Leaning against the wall adjacent to the balcony entrance, Nagi simply decided to wait, while keeping respectable distance, for the couple to finish. Tatsume stood dutifully beside him. Nagi enjoyed the moment in silence. Once the wedding was over he would return to the Near Shore. Tatsume would continue to guard his house in the Far Shore and keep it ready for whenever he decided to return. Be his eyes and ears in Heaven. That was the way it had always been between them. It was how his divine dragon protected him.

Sachi
Takamagahara, The Day of the Wedding

Sachi was bored. She did her best to imitate the somber aura of the other Death Gods, of course. But it was dull and dreary. No one really wanted to talk to anyone. The other Death Gods seemed convinced they were going to die. That it was all a trick. That Amaterasu was going to behead them, etc, etc. She supposed it made sense when she learned that Death Gods were originally phantoms, but still…she highly doubted that the Heavens would start a campaign to purge Death Gods.

Gods are gods.

No matter if their origin is human, phantom, or spirit, they use regalia to kill phantoms. She didn’t get what the big deal was. Or maybe she was simply biased. Since she’d been upgraded to permanent regalia, Sachi had been on cloud nine. Sure, Azani hadn’t removed her name from the Nora, but now her place felt more secure. Azani might’ve been poor. Might not have a shrine. But she wasn’t a bad god, all things considering. Fairly nice in fact.

During these last few weeks, Sachi had watched Azani, shaping her mask to perfection. She was now confident Azani wouldn’t throw her away.

She tugged on Azani’s hand. “Azani, Azani~I need to go to the bathroom. Come with me?”

She didn’t. Not really. She just wanted to be away from the crowd of the other Death Gods. The bride and groom seemed to be taking their time anyways.

Takamagahara(The Wedding)

Hagaka continued cursing only becoming aware of the footfalls as Ude drew closer. She looked up to meet his gaze also seeing that the travel god had been watching the entire sortie and its conclusion. She would have to apologize later. Hagaka feinted a smile for the men attempted to play it off as if it hadnt happened.
"...Ude...Oh hey i was just trying to get some air no need to worr...!"
Her eyes widened and her words faltered at his deep embrace which had taken her by surprise. The girl stood as his warmth enveloped her and his scent permeated around creating almost a sanctuary like effect.
Her face was now buried in his chest as the hakama surrounded her luckily hiding how red her face was at the moment.

"Ude...you don't have to....you shouldn't..."
She had begun to explain that it would not look good for a kami to be seen consoling her this way but she knew he did not care as more tears came and she wrapped her arms around him as well, accepting the embrace that she had long been without.
"I don't know what i did wrong, How could he leave me like that....like this. I just want him to tell me why...Ude am i not good enough?, to be a real regalia? ..am i just some stupid stray whose is so foolish to believe i can serve honorable kami...am i just kidding myself?"
She exasperated through muffled cries and sniffles as she gripped the man tighter before edging her eyes up to meet his own. The notion that her doubts could blight the kami she cared for caused her to stop and steady herself with a few calming breaths before speaking more.
"I'm sorry, These are my problems...You dont have to answer...I am okay now really..lets go back before Inbu gets worried. And Ude...don't tell him about Susanoo please.."
Hagaka pleaded as she released the man and stepped back also checking to see if Nagi had seen more but it appeared he had returned to the party.
The regalia wondered why he had been on his way toward her and even stayed through everything else. It must have been important and she still wanted to apologize, Yet Ude had shown her a side she had not seen from him in so long. Was he really still in there? After all....She couldnt know but the fact that he had been there for her was enough.

Azani
Takamagahara, The Wedding

Many of the reapers were nervous and some were being overly paranoid, while they were not liked heaven did tolerate them and Azani knew that, but still even she was nervous. she didn't think the other gods would try to kill them but she was careful about stepping on toes and in truth felt like many others that sticking to their little depressing group was for the best to make sure they didn't screw things up. Heaven was built upon tradition and ruled through tradition it was filled with rules made thousands of years ago that still held sway and thus a group that was new that broke tradition was not exactly welcome. Still it was likely tradition that stopped the ones that would call for their heads from speaking for long as they were careful then there was no reason for anyone to strike out at them.

Sachi it seemed was not nervous and didn't seem to understand why reapers would fear heaven and treading on their toes the fact they were there was about all one could ever hope fr and thus they must conduct themselves as best they could. As such Azani noticed how Sachi wanted to go and mingle with others and Azani thus far had kept her close as all the reapers did with their equally dour regalia all knew to be somber and serious yet be alert for any threat. Still while Sachi asked to go to the restroom a pang went through Azani an old sorrow springing from an old wound, Ai, something had happened to make her extremely depressed.

" Right sure lets go" Azani said her mind not all there as she moved in front of Sachi to find the restroom and walked off with her regalia and afer a few moments of walking ran right into someone still distracted with the feelings coming from Ai

"Whoever told you that is wrong. You are good enough. I haven't known you for long, but I never thought of you as just some stray," it was the best answer he could give her. Ude couldn't answer the question of why he left her, nor could he force answers out of a god he never met. He leaned against the railing as Hagaka stepped back, "For what it's worth, I think of you as a friend."

Ude looked down. He'd never seen the sky from this angle before. "I don't think I would ever get tired of a view like this," he mused aloud. "If only I could stay here without the other gods being around." he shook his head and turned back to Hagaka.

He didn't like the idea of keeping secrets from Inbu, but they weren't his secrets to tell. "I won't," he promised. "And you're right. After all, you still owe In a dance, I think," he smiled and held out his hand, waiting for her to take it or reject it before going back inside.

Shinri gave the regalia a toothy grin, "I'm Shinri. What's your name?" The young boy turned and walked back to his seat slowly, careful to not spill the pastries and bump into anyone along the way. Glancing behind him now and then to see if the black-haired regalia was following him.

Juku-sama! Onii-san here wanna play the game too, can he?"

The request only made Juku happy, a wide grin on his face with a twinkle of excitement in his eyes. "Of course!" He switched seats with Shinri, so that he could sit next to the newcomer and patted the seat next to him. "I'm Jukuren, a gaming god. The quiet one over there is Kiri," He pointed, the teen still didn't look up, but held a hand up as if to say hi. Then he patted the small red-head, "And this is Shinri. In case he hasn't introduced himself yet." His regalia was just about to protest, but chose not to and instead enjoy a pastry.

"Help yourself to the snacks here too. Here ya go! If you need any help, don't be afraid to ask. I've been told I'm a great teacher." Juku said smugly, and handed the console to him. Just before the regalia could grasp it, the god withdrew it back. "Ah, you gotta tell me about yourself too. Promise?" He held the console out for him to take again.

Amaterasu

Takamagahara(The Wedding)

Amaterasu was smiling throughout the ensuing conversation as a few rushed the goddess of home and hearth. A few had finished speaking of how great the ceremony would be and on the darker side of how many kami had been disappearing lately. The gossip was reminiscent of wives on the park bench while their children played aimlessly.
To be honest the whispers that lower kami had been vanishing worried her wholly.
The last colilloquy she had attended was substantially pressing an investigation into the issue. The goddess excused herself from the group feigning that she needed to check on other guests. The real reason was the pang of sadness that flooded over her like a typhoon tempting to break the levis of her heart.
Tsuzu had met with Susanoo it seemed and as she predicted the outcome had not been fruitful. The woman inhaled quickly to compose herself her thoughts reflecting on the girls welfare but more emotions...warmer emotions hit her and she knew that she would be alright for now...but soon they would have to talk.
The goddess suddenly felt something bump into her and she turned to face a darkly dressed shinigami one who appeared far younger than most she had seen.
"Well hello there little Shinigami, I am Amaterasu and you would be?"
She asked sincerely as her eyes fell across the girls small frame and that of her regalia.

As Ude's words reached her ears she was struck speechless. For him to say this now after such a short period of time..she was unsure if he did it just for her or himself. Not that it mattered a kamis actions were always just..even Susanoo's.
Her eyes and body followed in suit as the man gazed down to the land that lay beneath them. A world he was more accustomed to than that of his own kind.
Hagaka studied his features as he spoke of being able to see this view forever and she agreed seeing him like this...it reminded her of before and she too wanted him to remain his way like the view he so honestly admired.
Her attention snapped back to him as he agreed not to tell Inbu and reminded her she still owed him a dance. To that she turned and took the gods hand finally finding her voice as a small smile formed.
"Your right...We shouldnt keep him waiting...and Ude?..."
She let her mind process the statement she was about to say carefully before she uttered it.
"I may not know why you cant see yourself as a god....but i am grateful you are...or else....i would never have made such a great friend as you"
The Nora admitted before picking up her pace and rejoined the festivities. She was the same old Hagaka again as she returned to Inbu.
With a sigh she smiled happily once more allowing all the other emotions and hurt to fade.

"Sorry about that Inbu...now i believe we were having a dance?, and after....you will have my hand next i hope?"
Hagaka beamed back towards Udeya before laughing happily once more and taking the regalia to the dance floor once more.

Kokoro
Takagamahara

The days leading up to the wedding were long and boring for Kokoro, and as one can imagine she didn't exactly make it easy. Where Kimi was "secretly" exited about the etiquette lessons at first (she thought she had been hiding it, but she really hadn't), Kokoro showed no interest at all, often vanishing when Hasuna tried to give them; though she did stick around when food was on the table. She wouldn't admit it but Hasuna was an amazing cook. In fact the goddess was great at anything housekeeping related, probably part of being the goddess of moms.

Still when the day of the wedding came Kokoro probably surprised them all when she agreed to come along, though whether it was from a change of heart or just to humor Hasuna wasn't clear. To add to the surprises she hadn't needed any help getting into her kimono, slipping into the red cloth and even managing to tie the obi with practiced ease, though she still wore her headphones; something no one was going to get her to take off. Once she was sure everything was done right she came over to help Kimi with surprising enthusiasm, doing her hair while Hasuna focused on the clothes. Feeling like something was missing she dashed outside and returned with a large purple flower and slid it into the hair piece. "There we go! Perfect!" And it really was, making an already beautiful girl drop dead gorgeous.

Once they had arrived at the wedding it didn't take long for Hasuna to be surrounded be squealing women and scare Kimi off to the snack tables, and Kokoro would have followed her if her goddess hadn't been staring at her, pleading for help. It was actually a little shocking to her that Hasuna was so popular, but as she thought about it more it made sense considering what she was and where they were. She was tempted to just ditch her, but in the end she couldn't bring herself to do it. So she grit her teeth and stepped up next to Hasuna, forcing on a polite but brief smile and bowing. "My name's Kokoro." She introduced herself with all the respect she could stomach, not wanting to embarrass to woman she owed her life to, though still refusing to use the clan name. "It's an honor to meet all of you."

Yuuken
Takamagahara - Wedding

His eyes lit up at the fact that the regalia didn't bite his head off. She did however, offer him candy! He smiled and took the piece and popped it into his mouth. It was strawberry, surprisingly it was Yuu's favorite. She was clearly older than him. He was sure he was probably one of the few child looking regalia here. He glanced over and spotted his Kami and saw that she was being bombarded with questions about fate. He grimaced, he knew she hated that. It would only be a matter of time before they would leave prematurely.

He turned back to Kimi. "It's nice to meet you, Kimi." he smiled. He reached his hand out to shake. "I'm Yuuken, one of Lady Shizuya's regalia. Well the only regalia." he chuckled nervously. "She's around here somewhere. She told me to go mingle with other regalia. I don't know why. Though I'm having a interesting time watching the seriousness of this place." he frowned. "It's stuffy and boring." he was brutally honest about that. He hated the suits, he hated the politics and all he wanted to do was go home.

Iten
Takamagahara, The Wedding

"Lord Iten, would you like me to fetch some refreshment?" Isami shifted in his suit, looking uncomfortable enough that Iten felt it best to give the shinki some reprieve from the milling crowd.

"I would be very grateful. You should have something as well, Isami. The spread they have here is well beyond my means; you might not have another chance to taste such luxuries, being kept by a god such as I." Iten's eyes sparkled with mirth.

"No, I couldn't my lord. You are- My service- I am but a-"

"Don't be so flustered, Isami-san. Our god likes to tease, so it's our fate as shinki to get used to his warped nature. In fact, Ishikori-dome no Mikoto forged me an iron mask for this express purpose." Hatsumi pinched her own cheek to make a point, her face blank as usual. "If we find the Esteemed Old One in this crowd, I'll ask her to make you one too. Then Lord Iten might stop saying things in the hopes of getting a cute reaction out of you."

"C-cute-!?"

The man spluttered protestations against such a thoroughly unsuitable descriptor for someone of his age as Hatsumi steered him towards the refreshment table. Iten hid a chuckle behind his gloved hand and made an appreciative gesture to the retreating Hatsumi, who nodded in return. After all that Isami had done for him during the Phantom Storm, the shinki deserved a break, even if he didn't think so himself.

That was the one good thing about this entire farcical affair. Iten's mood darkened as he considered the rediscovered ceremonial rite that had all the minor gods of Takama-ga-hara buzzing. Change in the hearts of humans was inevitable; for a god to cling to a useless existence -- such conduct was shameful, and masquerading it as a wedding similar to that between humans only added insult upon injury.

Well, he shouldn't be too quick to jump to conclusions. What was important was what the bonding parties did with their prolonged time as gods. Would they try to reinvent themselves, or return to lives of complacency? He lit up when he saw a familiar bald, bulbous head moving through the crowd. If there was anyone's opinion he valued on this, that would be Omoikane's.

Yet as he approached, he realized that half of heaven had the same idea that he did. Along with Lady Shizuya's crowd, the two groups together could have made up almost three-quarters of the kami population, though this lot here trended toward an older demographic. Sighing, he resigned himself to a quiet spot near the balcony. A tousle-haired god accompanied by a man (likely his shinki) had already claimed the area for his own, but Iten didn't think the other would mind his presence. Just as well that he asked this god for his thoughts.

"Lord Nagi is it? I'm interrupting you when you're enjoying a quiet moment, aren't I?" Iten laughed, but plowed on without apology. "This 'wedding' has been rather tasking and I was hoping for a third party's thoughts on the whole affair when luck may have it, I happened upon you." He leaned closer, as if to share a secret. "Personally, I had particular difficulty finding a suitable gift for the couple -- in fact, I hardly know who they are in the first place. Would you be kind enough to enlighten an unknowing soul?"

Kaname
Takamagahara, The Wedding
"Kana," he introduced himself to the child regalia, stuffing his hands in his pockets. He wasn't in the mood to play nice, nor did he have a reason to, since the old man wasn't around to make him.

Kana followed Shinri back to table and sat when room was made for him. It was hard to resist the urge to put his feet up. He glanced at the gaming god as he introduced himself, but after meeting a god who was stuck always being pregnant, nothing could surprise him anymore. He grunted to show he was listening when Jukuren told him about his regalia, but otherwise didn't speak until the console was handed to him. He stared at it.

"Kaname," he said again. "Regalia of Nagi, the god of wind and travel. That enough for you?" Kana said blandly to Jukuren.

He tilted the device in his hands, glancing from the buttons on each side to the character that stood unmoving on the top screen. He was confused by the fact that it had two screens, but intrigued by what they were using it for. When Shinri asked him to play a game, this wasn't what he had in mind. He inspected the back, then tapped a button. Nothing happened.

He gave up and put it down on the table,
"Okay, I give up. Got anything else?"

Udeya
Takamagahara, The Wedding
Inbu was where Ude left him when they came back. He looked between them, nervous and worried. "Something happen that I should know about?"

"No," Ude said, smiling at his unhappy look. "But if something did happen, it's resolved now," he added.

Inbu seemed even less satisfied with that answer, but it was quickly forgotten as Hagaka pulled him away again. Ude stayed near the wall, content to watch but not engage directly in anything. He looked around, pausing for a second when he saw a familiar goddess in the crowd, being mobbed by those who wanted to know their fate.

She was Shizuya, if he was remembering right. He spotted Yuuken by the food table, talking to someone he didn't recognize. Ude glanced at Shizuya again. He pitied the goddess, but not enough to go over there and put himself in the middle of that.

Ude shook his head when Hagaka came back, expecting him to join her for the next dance, "No, I'm staying here. I don't dance, Hagaka."

Shizuya

After breaking away from the crowd of gods, Shizuya found herself standing in a corner where she would hopefully go unnoticed. She didn't intend to hide the entire time, per say, but she didn't relish the thought of being mobbed every minute she as here, which was exactly what would happen if she didn't hide. Or if she didn't do a reading for at least one person.
Now that she had a moment of peace, Shizuya gazed around the room, appraising those in attendance. She spotted Yuuken who seemed to be making friends with an unfamiliar regalia. The sight brought a smile to her face. She was glad he seemed to be enjoying himself, at least.
She knew most of the gods here, in fact. Many of them used to frequent her parties. Iten was currently speaking with one of the few gods she didn't know, preventing her from talking to him, which was a shame. He was one of the few people unlikely to pester her about fate and was therefore tolerable.
Nothing about this gathering was unusual, except the presence of the death gods. She personally wouldn't have invited them. Shizuya curled her lip slightly before turning her attention elsewhere.
She finally noticed another crowd similar to the one that had surrounded her moments before. It was surrounding a familiar face. Shizuya chuckled, feeling rather sorry for Lady Hasuna. The pregnant goddess had a slightly uncomfortable look on her face. Shizuya found herself wanting to help her.
After crossing the room and pushing through the crowd Shizuya smiled politely at Hasuna.
"Lady Hasuna, I've been looking everywhere for you!" She greeted. "I've just had the most fascinating vision regarding you! Would you care to hear about it away from all these prying ears?" Shizuya offered. That was a lie, of course. She had seen nothing concerning Hasuna directly. It was just a way to get her away from the crowd.
Other gods knew that Shizuya liked to discuss her visions with those involved privately, so it was unlikely they would object. Shizuya used to use her visions as an excuse all the time, and the other gods had yet to catch on. Except for those who just knew when she was lying.

Azani
the wedding

Azani had not been careful she had been in a rush to please Sachi into not trying to get her to go out and talk to people who would not like her. She should have watched out and if she had then she could have avoided something that many Shinigami feared Amatarasu. She was the leader of heaven and the goddess of life and light they were her polar opposite death and shadows. It was assumed that she seeing her polar opposite would not like them and stayed her hand only because they broke no rules. This was of course unfounded and silly but fear was hardly ever rational and like mortals gods thought and did stupid things when scared. Still Azani would try to make a good impression but she found Amatarasu almost hard to look at not because she burned her with light or something but rather she found it hard to not be somewhat entranced. The self introduction Amatarasu did in truth was unneeded as when you looked at her you simply knew it was here for there could be no other so radiant in power like the very sun. Still her tone was not of anger or hatred not even disgust or annoyance it was not at all what Azani could have expected. Azani felt she could and would stammer if she spoke as if she would not find the right words to avoid being immolated by the woman before her. Still she could not stand there looking like a fool silent before Amatarasu.

"I am Azani and this is Sachi" She said bowing down some. Her tone was rather normal and she treated Amatarasu as any other deity she did not go to the floor or add platitudes or try to excuse herself and make a big deal of of it. "She needed to use the restroom and I did not watch were I was going " She continued explaining the situation again as she might to any other.

Amaterasu

Takamagahara(The Wedding)

"Azani and Sachi, It is very nice to meet you and dont you both look adorable"
The kami warmly replied to the shinigami's introduction she in turn bowed as well, As she stood her hand lightly moved out as if lifted and carried by the unearthly currents of heaven itself as she gingerly placed her fingertips under Azani's chin and lifted the younger girl from her bow so that the pairs eyes met.
A smile was firmly spread over the woman's features as her lilac hair shifted slightly to dangle before her elaborate dress.

"I see why you would be inclined to explain but there was no need...however we both know that was not the reason you were pulled away from them, Isn't that correct Sachi"
Amaterasu's voice seemed to drip with hidden meaning like that of a philosopher who had been instructing his pupil in the ways of the world. While the woman was no seer she did have her own intuition.
Her eyes rested on Sachi as she spoke of the explanation to head to the restroom being nothing more than an excuse but gave her a wink of sincerity to show she meant no ill will.
As her gaze shifted the other shinigami looked terrified for their young comrade as it appeared to them that she was in a hard place. None however made an attempt to help her and rather turned inward on themselves and began to mumble about the potential outcome.
This caused Amaterasu to laugh only a little as she brought her hand from the goddesses chin to cover her mouth.

"It seems i am still not welcome in such circles...a shame, But seeing as your regalia has saved you from boredom and you have caught my interest. Might we continue this conversation further...from others opinions and trivial thoughts?"
She mused wanting to know this younger girl better as well as her regalia. It was not often she met kami she knew little of and with everything she had felt and witnessed earlier she needed a distraction...Azani would be a welcome one.

Ame

Takamagahara(The Wedding)

Hagaka had enjoyed the dance with Inbu stepping and turning every so often being twirled as they moved together to the music. She had even let Inbu lead which surprised her at how quickly he handled the dance and coordinated the pairs movements.
Once the song ended she had made her way back to Ude and was greeted with a rather dull resounding No. The Nora curled her bottom lip in false aggravation as her eyebrow raised and she grabbed his wrist planning to do as she had done with Inbu. Why was he always so reluctant to do... well anything.
"I did not convince you to come here and hold up a wall Udeya. Now a pretty girl has gotten dressed up and has asked you for a dance, Maybe you misconstrued my intentions...Ude we__ are___dancing"
The regalia emphasized the last bit as she pulled him into the swath of surrounding bystanders and cliques. Reaching the center she spun on her heel and pulled on him hard so he would collide into her.
The young woman positioned herself to catch him so that her hands rested above the nape of his neck.
Not wanting to hear him protest she interjected before he would have a chance to object to her wishes.

"A man and a woman....That's all we have to be right now, Not a kami...not a Nora...just Ude and Hagaka, now dance with me"
She acquiesced as her eyes stared into his own their silver sheen moonlight that stood contrasted against the blackened night sky and her smile and words soft and caring. As the music started up and other partners began to move around them she stayed still awaiting his answer not once taking her eyes away.

Nagi
Takamagahara, The Day of the Wedding

As soon as Kusanagi returned with her god, Nagi’s eyes followed the couple, reluctant to interfere since the girl seemed to have just regained her spirits. What he planned on telling her wasn’t exactly the most pleasant of news. He was watching her dance with her friend again when the God of Truth and Justice joined him. Lord Iten—a god who, if the rumors were to be believed, greatly valued tradition. To be honest, Nagi was surprised that such a god would deign to speak to him…since he wasn’t the most traditional of gods.

The gossip of him and a certain male human was old news by now, but he’d still caught wind of a few whispers amongst certain gods—especially since he continued to remain a Wandering God and didn’t attend very many of Heaven’s colloquies. Nor did he attempt to correct any rumors. It was too much of a hassle. Besides, he doubted anything he said would’ve made much of a difference either back then or now. People believed what they wanted to believe. Not like it was entirely false anyway.

Smiling politely at Iten’s humor, Nagi blinked when the militaristically dressed god leaned close enough to whisper in his ear.

“Of course,” Nagi replied amiably. “The groom is the enshrined former human, Oda Nobunaga. The bride is a mountain goddess from the agricultural division…” He glanced at Tatsume.

“Lady Aikibara Yuunsuke.”

Nagi nodded. “I wasn’t sure what to get either of them either, so I settled for some treats from the Lower Realm.”

More specifically several dozen boxes of donuts—two of which were donated by Hiname-chan. Nagi wasn’t sure whether Tatsume managed to convince Kaname-kun to give anything to the happy couple as well. However, seeing as both his regalias and Arashi seemed to like them, Nagi couldn’t think of a better gift.

“Both have had their shrines decimated by recent fires...or so I hear. Hopefully the gifts will make up for their loss. I can’t say I know much about the ritual itself, but the two gods have chosen the route they believe to be the most optimal…and I don’t dislike the willingness to try new things. As long as the they are happy, I wish them the best on the path they choose to walk.”

It wasn’t a route Nagi would’ve chosen. Shrines could be rebuilt as long as faith existed. The source of the fire was still unknown. However, saying such things aloud would be rude to the couple in question—not to mention Heaven liked to gossip. They surely thought long and hard before deciding to go through with the rite. Therefore, the best Nagi could do was wish them well on their new journey.

Nagi didn't lie. But he didn't give the full scope of his thoughts either. Given Hasuna's reaction, he wasn't sure how welcomed such words would be.

By the time he’d finished talking, Kusanagi had already started another dance—this time with her God. Seeing her force the white haired god into the dancefloor, Nagi concluded that she had the same fire that Hiname-chan possessed. Possibly more. This time though, Nagi’s attention was the awkward god she danced with. The fact that he cheered Kusanagi up meant that he deeply cared for her. Therefore, he would have to be informed as well. Nagi didn’t like lying. Besides, secret affairs are generally what ruined relationships, and Nagi had no intention of doing something like that.

Already he could hear the whispers starting. Udeya. The god that was punished by the Heavens. Dancing with a Nora. Nagi had little doubt Ryuujin intended for him to be the one subject to such rumors. Not that he cared. Nor did Udeya apparently. Now that he thought about it again, he remembered Matsuo mentioning to him the name of such a god once. A god that many of his poet peers prayed to during his time. Nodding his head, Nagi ignored Ryuujin’s glare and redirected his gaze towards Iten.

“What about you, Lord Iten? Do you see yourself getting married anytime soon?” Nagi smiled. “I imagine a god of your caliber would have lines of offers from various goddesses by now.”

Sachi
Takamagahara, The Day of the Wedding

What did one say to the Queen of the Heavens?

To be honest, Sachi was still fishing for words when Azani introduced her and settled for following her goddess’s example. The regalias weren’t supposed to bow their heads to other gods. It was a sign of disrespect…or so Sachi remembered. But since Azani did so and the Sun Goddess herself recuperated, it was probably alright.

Sachi was honestly surprised by the sign of respect Azani gave Amaterasu given how wary the other Death Gods had been of her. Azani didn’t live in Amaterasu-omikami’s domain. She wasn’t even allowed to step foot in the Heavens without the invitation. Therefore, it wasn’t as if Azani owed the Sun Goddess any deference.

If anything, she imagined they would be enemies since she doubted Amaterasu would like Izanami—Queen of Yomi—that much…and phantoms were more tied to the Queen of the Underworld than the Sun Goddess.

Amaterasu had easily seen through her white lie as well. Sachi's cheeks pinked slightly, though she didn't protest her falsehood. Was it the ability of the goddess? Or just intuition? Had she been watching them? Either way, Sachi knew she had to be wary of the Queen of the Heavens. She didn’t actually believe Amaterasu would cut down any Death Gods that were invited. However, she was aware of the powerful regalias the Queen possessed. Jizo had told her a long time ago.

Not even blessed regalias stood a chance.

Of course, even if the Queen of the Heavens didn’t have her regalias, she most likely had the backing of all the gods that served her. War gods. The Heavenly Army. They would flock to her side if she gave the word. Overall, Sachi thought Azani’s politeness a wise move.

Not that Azani wasn’t usually polite. Cold and polite.

The question the Queen of the Heavens asked was directed towards Azani, so Sachi glanced at her Death God, waiting for a moment, before her gaze flickered back to the Sun Goddess.

“Thank you~” Sachi responded to the adorable comment, a beatific smile forming on the little girl’s face.”That’s very kind of you to say Queen Amaterasu. For allowing us into the Heavens as well, you have our gratitude. I felt it a shame to waste such a splendid opportunity. ”

Sachi made no mention of the Heavens being her former home. At least she knew now she knew wouldn’t be bored. Assuming Azani said yes of course. Then again, when the Queen of the Heavens asked such a question, was there really a choice?

Heaven, Wedding

Normally Hasuna loved to socialize, being at the center of attention was nothing new to her. But this wasn't just the center of attention it was nearing becoming a scene. Oh, you have have you? Well then, please excuse us. She said this and subsequently mouthed the words, "Thank You" to Shizuya. Oh poohey. Well don't take too long girls! They made it to a quieter area of the party and Hasuna could take a breath. Thanks Shizuyah, I'm sure you know how it is to be swarmed far more than I. Have you by any chance seen a green haired God anywhere? At this she blushed.
