Fantasy No Mortals (Accepting new characters!)

The virus worked quickly and efficiently with the single minded purpose of crippling Ortrov both body and soul. Unlike chemicals which which due quite a bit of damage up front then disappeared the virus works slowly, drawing strength from its host then breeding and multiplying. Until so much damage has been caused that the body cannot continue to function and expires. Nanautzin had recovered from his nice little chemical bath and could at least come out of the gas to fight, but he had by no means recovered. Ortrov however would feel perfectly fine at first. The virus will feed on his energy slowly corroding it and assimilating it, converting it into viral energy and spread through out him. The Centipede that had hidden itself underground emerged to protect Nanautzin within the gasses in a physical form made of viral membrane. Now with his trump card played. His monster already serving its purpose with the gas ran out of energy and ceased to function. Nanautzin drew his blade and met Ortrov in battle among his gas. Nanautzin was still visibly sick and his face was an expressionless mask. Their blades struggling against one another Nanautzin began absorbing the toxic gas into himself to regain the energy lost from crafting the monster. However he didn't gather much as he grew tired of this running about. Nanautzin pushed Ortrov off of his blade and took up his fighting stance.

@Rurnur

Otrov could feel it working, the disease, small fragments of his soul disintegrating whenever he tried to regenerate his energy. All this meant is that he had to finish things quickly, he still had a decent amount of energy, and at least the virus wouldn't affect that, he hoped. Another one of his creatures appeared to take the bullets for him, unfortunate, but Nanautzin was running out of tricks, his membrane, the beast, all had fallen before him. It'd all come down to the swordplay.

He charged up his pistol and fired off two rounds from the hip, aimed at Nanautzin's feet and then his head. Then dashed forward, crouching and sliding forwards to slash at his enemy's knees, using his chemical-coated blade.

@SleepyBuddha

Nanautzin with his blade already drawn easily deflected the bullet going for his head and took the bullet to his foot, which did more damage than he thought almost completely destroying the foot outright. Well in truth it shouldn't be that much if a surprise considering it broke his viral armor. The foot itself was already healing itself but it was taking much longer than usual.

Nanautzin had fallen to his knees then his foot was shot and easily blocked in incoming attack. " Really now? Still going to use that toy? I figured you for a swordsman yet you rely of a bauble like. Disgraceful." Nanautzin said as their blades struggled against one another. Nanautzin quickly pivoted on his knees and tilted his blade suddenly freeing himself the position jabbed the hilt of his katana into his opponents nose probably breaking it. Nanautzin knew a injury like that wouldn't do anything combat wise in his advantage lest this man actually felt pain so it was mostly to convey his disappointment. Nanautzin got back up and took stance again. His virus was progressing faster and faster the more energy Ortrov used.

Damn it, I don't have any way of completely countering her offensive attacks. I need some kind of way to stop her from attacking. Hopefully to deter the wire that was coming towards him Asterot shifted his focus from the golem to create a small wooden bubble around him, That will have to do for now, it won't hold for very long but I just need more time to finish the Golem. After I finish it then I can try to stop her from attacking me. After he created the bubble, Asterot completely ignored the sharp wire that was coming down on him. He needed to use all of his concentration in order to finish the Golem, the Golem slowly started to take shape outside of the bubble, a blob of wood and plants started to come together to eventually form a large humanoid.

This Golem was actually taking on the appearance of a life form that Asterot had come across on a extremely strange planet that he had visited along his travels in space. The planet was filled with plant-life which had begun to develop intelligence rather than the other life-forms of the planet One of his avatars is actually a permanent resident of that planet, helping the local plant-men to advance their culture and develop higher intelligence. This was only one of the beings which Asterot had taken a liking to from that planet, while the golem he was making didn't actually have that same sentience as that race, it still had the same form and with his ability to control plant-life he could easily make it appear to actually be alive.

"you think a a wooden barrier can stop wire meant to cut metal?!" Acantha taunted him from above. with a few flickering movements with her hands she applied more force/speed on her wires. Amazingly the wooden bubble had somehow not been cut to shreds, but instead started to buckle from the force the wires are exerting on it. splinters started to snap out and eventually the bubble broke. a man of many tricks this one. she Stared from above analyzing if her wires had done the job.

Don't act so surprised, there are millions of planets out there with much stronger plant-life than your average planet. This wood isn't something you would find just anywhere. The wood that Asterot used to create his barrier was a very hard wood found on the same planet as the golem he was creating, he had used that wood almost out of habit because of his concentration on the Golem. The wood was very hard but it had a fundamental problem, something like wire, which doesn't have a very large surface area could break through it with a large amount of force put on it.

The barrier of wood started splintering and creaking, and by the time the barrier had broken, the Golem was finished. The wire that she had used to break through his barrier had landed on his body and caused several large cuts on his body but he was completely fine with taking damage now that his Golem was finished. Asterot went straight into action, not giving her another moment of rest. He imbued a little amount of his energy into the pieces of wood from the barrier and sent them straight at her, flying in the air, at the same time the Golem ripped a large piece of earth from the ground, packed it together and threw it straight toward their opponent.

Otrov recoiled from the hit to his face, but quickly regained balance, entering a fighting stance. Nanautzin had the advantage here, in this fight. But Otrov had other plans. He smirked, staring into the eyes of the Immortal in front of him, while his nose glowed briefly before shifting back into place. "You, of all people, judge my choice of sword?" He chuckled, slowly advancing on the old man. "I'd like to see you try and beat me again, when your soul isn't corrupted by darkness. Oh yeah, old man. I can smell it, not your sickly, ugly energy. But the darkness never meant for this world, and I know exactly how you got it." Otrov looked up and motioned towards the crowd. "Feeling hungry?" He laughed and lunged forward, striking left to right, and doing the same with his pistol, firing off rounds as he swing it around, not letting Nanautzin have the chance to guess when he'd pull the trigger.

@SleepyBuddha
Nanautzin growled as Ortrov mocked the darkness within his soul, "I'm actually feeling quite peckish at the moment. Maybe your soul shall sate my hunger." Nanautzin growled easily blocking the attacks however that gun had been a problem this entire fight and remained so. Forcing him to dodge and block not giving him much ground to work with.He would need to get rid of it. Since Ortrov wasn't putting much power behind his swings it was a simple matter to parry one of his swings, but if he parried the blade he may not be able to get rid of the gun before Ortrov could fire again because of the damage to his foot. Once he did so Nanautzin took advantage of the opening knock the gun out of his hand then push Ortrov away putting himself between Ortrov and the gun while returning to his stance. As he thought Ortrov was quick to react and pulled off a shot before Nanautzin could disarm him. This one was in the gut, but his foot was all but healed now.

@Rurnur

Otrov laughed to himself, keeping eye contact with Nanautzin. If he could get him aggravated enough, his team would easily be able to converge and execute him, while still keeping undercover. It'd be perfect, and a win for Otrov all-round. "I thought so, old man. That's where you get your strength from, isn't it? Feasting the souls of the innocent! Come on, demon! Try me." He smirked and held up his fingers in the shape of a gun, firing off bullets of energy, identical to the ones he charged his pistol with, although these ones lacked accuracy. Otrov no longer was concerned with his energy levels, this was the final push, and he'd use every last ounce of power if he had to.

@SleepyBuddha

Nanautzin easily dodged or blocked the bullets and as Ortrov wasn't coming to attack Nanautzin took the moment to calm his mind. "I've no need to justify my eating habits to you as I'm not even a demon yet. How about you fight me with that blade your so proud of rather than using such petty words?" Nanautzin said continuing to evade or block the bullets. He had seen too many of his children succumb to their anger and rush forward to their deaths. He would learn from their mistakes and endeavor not to repeat them. " I must say if this is all you have to muster I truly pity the mortals under your care. To have such a weak immortal looking after them must have stunted their development greatly."

@Rurnur

As Acantha saw the shards of wood fly at her she darted to the side at a unnatural speed and she slammed on the far wall. not falling you see her smile brighter than usual. the rock that the Golem threw decelerated massively with what you can only hear as two or three strings snapping. it was floating in mind air a few feet away from the Golem. "mistake number 1, you used a humanoid figure. Mistake number 2, you tried to do a ranged attack knowing my wires are surrounding you. Mistake number 3, you gave me a new puppet." With that last sentence Acantha's voice grew sinister and full of bloodlust. more motions of her hands she went into the air slowly and the Golem turned on its master attempting to strike him but obviously fighting against its new found master.

Gabriel walked down the main hallway that separated the arenas, observing the place of Immortal games while awaiting new orders from her superior and the Lieutenant. Battle cries and cheers from the bloodthirsty crowd echoed against the walls filled with propagandist graffiti, at which she narrowed her eyebrows as she entered the main hall. The Officer looked around, such proximity to so many Immortals causing her to feel at unease due to great disadvantage she was currently in. There were people in the corners placing bets on the contestants, nervous newbies sitting on the benches and watching the broadcast along with many people gathered at the center of the room, their eyes pinned at the biggest TV in the vast room that currently displayed the battle between her superior, Captain Otrov, and the Immortal. "Battle of wits", that's how commentators called their match, and it piqued Gabriel's interest for some time, until something crimson standing in the crowd reverted her attention from the screen. It looked like a Jester, as much as she could see from behind, and it surely got her curious. She moved in the direction of the crimson figure, the Officer chuckling at the sight of an Immortal eating a pretzel.

"Yet? With that darkness inside you, you're already a blight on this world, there is no place for you here." Otrov pulled off his coat and advanced towards his opponent, holding his palm out. He was satisfied with the results here, he may have become slightly too aggravated, but he had an excuse, he was young. The trauma in his past brought out a lot of hatred towards demons, it was a flaw he had to work on. Nevertheless, in Otrov's mind, this Demon was already dead. "You have no idea what's coming." He smirked and pushed his palm into Nanautzin's core, inserting a needle directly into his putrid soul. Allowing the last remnants of his energy to flow through, offering no resistance to how Nanautzin would finish him off. "Do your worst, show the crowd who you really are."

Nanautzin recoiled in pain gasping and staggering back. This pain was much worse than any this ancient immortal had felt in all of his long life. To Nanautzin what happened next seemed as if something else had taken over. A much more primal side of Nanautzin he usually kept buried deep within his soul. However that pulse into his soul jarred loose his control and allowed for that darkness to take hold of the sickly immortals body.

An explosive amount of dark energy came spilling out Nanautzin. It was at least double the amount of energy he had been using before. This dark energy coiled around Nanautzin instantly forming a corrupt armor around him, even considering its viral armor one could easily tell something was different. With a bestial grunt Nanautzin struck Ortrov with such force that it Otrov became embedded into the wall opposite Nanautzin. The roused beast not satisfied it appeared in front Ortrov again and grabbing him by the leg pulled him out of the wall and threw him once more, this time getting in front of Ortrov mid flight and and stomping the artificial being into the arena floor so hard it cracked the arena floor as a whole and shook the arena.

Nanautzin then grabbed Ortrov by the throat and started pouring the dark energy over his body. A viral membrane began to encase Ortrov starting at his throat. " I don't usually feast on a specimen as strong as you, but you have shown yourself to be weak." Nanautzin said holding him up as the membrane expanded downward to bind the rest of his body first. "Your flesh and soul shall be assimilated and repurposed." It was then that Nanautzin realized what had been so off about Ortrov. This wasn't the taste of a mortal it was something.... different.

@Rurnur

The Officer almost lost her footing when the ground started to shake. By holding onto the person next to her she managed to stand straight up, her heart pumping wild as she looked around to see if any Mortal was hurt. Upon estimating that, besides the destroyed floor everything was intact and no one badly hurt, Forfax raised her look up to the screen once again, and her breath hitched at the sight. She trusted in her superior's abilities, but this was getting out of hand. Completely forgeting about the Jester, the Officer ran back trough the hallway, pulling her schyte out from its holster.

Acantha took a glace at the direction this unusual energy was coming from. a demon? then she turned back to her opponent who obviously felt it too. today just gets more interesting. her smile turned to uncertainty.

Due to his already heavily damaged soul, the impact of being thrown into the wall created a huge crack in Otrov's, a blast of Aether emerged as his eyes rolled back in his head, unconscious, unable to fight, but still alive. The only thing left to save him now was his team, or Nanautzin's sense of restraint, if there was any remaining.

Nanautzin had been watching all this go one like an observer in his own body. His consciousness bogged down by the darkness that had been so rudely awoken. Nanautzin had been trying to stop this since he lost control but the darkness was too strong he would have to wait for a moment of weakness. Watching as he began to eat Ortrov Nanautzin could feel the darkness enjoying its meal and took that opportunity to break through.

Nanautzin strained to get his own body to listen to him with limited success. At the very least he managed to stop trying to assimilate his opponent, but that was all he could manage at the moment. All of his efforts were going to not being dragged back under by that darkness. His free hand clutched his and began tearing the armor off his face.

As the hallway was nearing to its end, Gabriel took a sharp turn to the right, climbing up the barely usable stairs while being blinded by the star around which this planet revolved. By following the stairs she saw the stone fence keeping the battle of the Immortals away from the fragile humans, and without a second thought she jumped over it, whispering a silent prayer to anything that was up there and hoping that backup would arrive soon. After a heavy land Forfax stood up to the sight of the sickly demon, scared to death. The crowd started looking at her wearily and with hints of panic, and Gabriel mustered the last pieces of her confidence to bow down slightly to the crowd as if this was a part of some wicked show. She turned back her full focus on the demon as the public cheered, her gut sinking low as she grabbed a better hold of her schyte.

Nanautzin looked over as another immortal jumped into the ring. It was obvious she was scared out of her mind as a matter of fact so was Nanautzin. He had all but lost control of himself and was now feeding that darkness by trying to eat his opponent. The armor was repairing itself much quicker than Nanautzin had hoped and the darkness was already dragging him back under. Straining Nanautzin said, " Please... stop.. me... free him... and stop .. me..." Nanautzin pleaded as the viral membrane completely covered Ortrov like a cocoon. Soon the actual feeding with begin and as much as Nanautzin fraught he didn't have the strength to regain control on his own.

As his Golem appeared to be coming after him, he had a light smile on his face. "If you don't really believe you could control my Golem did you?" The Golem slowly walked back towards Asterot, on the inside he was really starting to get annoyed, his opponent has the air advantage and she also uses long ranged attacks, the complete opposite of what he was comfortable with. When the Golem got back to him, he touched it and slowly moved the plant-life onto his body, the plants created a layer of armor around him it looked almost like a larger wooden version of himself.

As soon as he was done with the armor, a large amount of dark energy erupted from a different stage, he saw that weird virus immortal that killed him once start to transform into a demon, he continued to watch him start eating one immortal and another one jumped on-stage. Should I interfere? I don't think that little girl will be able to stop her.. He looked up at his opponent and yelled to her "We should probably go help!"

Despite the Immortal's word being weaker than a breeze, The Officer nodded, taking a deep breath and starting to walk into her certain death, every step heavy as the earth itself that she walked on. She let a piece of her energy run trough her legs and down into the ground, the energy seeping trough simple dust like water, going deeper towards the more solid source of mater, forming two snakes made out of rocks right under their feet.

"You must be Nanautzin, right? Don't tell me that this is all there is to a god of an entire civilisation..."

Acantha nodded in agreement with the plant man and dropped down onto the ground with a limp looks like im still hurt, hopefully the defensive strings have at least regenerated a few. She ran to her childhood friends aid, not really because she was concerned but more like an excuse to stop fighting and regenerate. Throwing a few strings woven up in rope at the armored being she tried to pull it away, at the very least trying to antagonize it.

@Baron @Gabriel Forfax @SleepyBuddha @Rurnur

Those words were all it took for the darkness to fully take back control. Nanautzin quickly found himself a prisoner inside his own body once again. The only silver lining Nanautzin could see out of this was that the darkness had stopped trying to eat Ortrov and began real focused on this new comer.

The darkness was a beast of pure instinct and rushed the female intent on crushing her underfoot like it did Ortrov. It was at this point it noticed something else hit it and it turned to see Acantha. It snarled and leapt at the pale girl intent on tearing her from the sky.

Forfax barely dogded the powerful attack, throwing herself aside and cursing as the talking didn't do it. She quickly stood up, summoning a snake out of the ground, the giant serpent made of rocks hurling towards the demon as Gabriel retreated to a more safe distance
