Fantasy No Mortals (Accepting new characters!)

Acantha was startled at the attack, she sliced one of them with the string in her left hand while the others impacted, (and defected) by the string around her. The one that came too close for comfort however was the one aimed for her ankles, she didnt have time to react to it but the strings automatically did.

Shit plants?! The whole ground will be his weapon! Maybe i can... No, no. My shield can only take so much, wait. Suddenly you feel a large updraft as the strings that were monitoring the arena all lifted up at once. She 'flew' up with them, now the arena was incased in a dome of invisible strings that she can use to stay off the ground.

You might have the battlefield advantage but i can make my own! At least thats what Acantha thought. "Nice try plant man!" She said now hanging up above. She gave a slight frown to rhe damage he caused to her strings in that suprise attack. She can probably only soak up a few more hits..

With a flick of her wrist a rope-like string came to life making a twirling motion thrashing the ground and converging on the plant man.

Without really any knowledge of where he was to sign up at, and a bit of social awkwardness due to really only associating with people he could have executed or consumed without any valid reason, Loex decided to watch. In between the different stadiums, the main area really, he stood. Once these battles finished, he may get to battle against one of the victors since it appeared an odd amount of fights were going on. "Itov! Get me a pretzel or something. Go on." He shooed off the cultist angel, who besides being confused on what a pretzel was, also didn't have money. This was going to be a while.

Asterot saw an odd string-like thing attacking the ground nearby and then aiming towards him. What in the- The rope like string aimed at him but this time he didn't dare take more random hits from her attacks. He jumped backwards trying to dodge the string. While he was in the air he used the plant attached to the bottom of his foot to maneuver. "You are quite the oddity aren't you?" Asterot looked down and realized that there were a few slices on his body only then realizing that there were most likely some smaller strings randomly spread around the area. She's smarter than I originally gave her credit for. Asterot created a medium sized log looking thing out of his energy and plants from the ground and then threw it towards her.

Alex was late to the tournament. A dying star had popped up in his peripheral. His curiosity caused him to fly close and observe it, watching something that had lived for nearly an eternity die was interesting.

However, he noticed a small planet that revolved around the star, upon closer observation, there was a strange race living there. Blue skinned humanoids, very primitive. Their energy was strange, he could feel it flowing from them, as if something was strengthening their souls. If given enough time, he was sure that this strange race would reach at least a quasi-immortality. They wouldn't be as strong as Immortals, but they'd certainly be above normal Mortals.

But only if their star didn't die. He frowned and turned, shooting through the vacuum of space. Eventually, he found a similar star, in the prime of it's life, fortunately, there were no living organisms on the nearby planets. Spheres of Gravity began to shoot towards the star, multiplying over and over again as they began to create a grid shape across the surface of the star.

He nodded and turned, flying back to the other star system. It would take some time for his gravity to work on the other star. When he arrived at the dying star, he repeated the process. However, this time he held out his hand and squeezed it. The star fluctuated as he slowly crushed it into a smaller and smaller spot. Eventually, the star collapsed into itself, the light from the star vanished as it was sucked into an small hole like force.

He nodded as he looked at the Black Hole he'd created. Normally, a star of this size wouldn't become a black hole, instead exploding into a supernova. With Alex's interference, he was capable of suppressing the explosion and force it into a small singularity. He scratched his chin, wondering what he should do with this black hole as his gravity spheres brought it into the palm of his hand. Releasing his control would be catastrophic. Fortunately, at this size, the Black Hole would eventually die out within a month.

Alex shrugged and put the black hole into his pocket. With his miniature gravity spheres keeping it from going out of control, it was safe as could be there.

Now, to finish what he started. He returned to his captive star and reached out his hand, then he pulled. He smiled as he watched the star begin to move as he towed it through space. While stars were massive, they were the center of their worlds, no gravity was greater than their own, so there was nothing pulling on the star to prevent him from pulling it with him.

Eventually, he placed the star in the same position as the dying one and nodded, releasing his control over it, letting everything return to normal.

He stretched a bit. The action didn't do anything for him, but he felt like doing it 'Alright, lets head to this tournament' he looked at the planet. He'd check on it in a couple years.

Eventually, he arrived at the space station. He wasn't sure where he was supposed to go. Frankly, he needed a place to rest and regain his energy. Collapsing one star and moving another was not the easiest thing to do. He barely had one tenth of his original energy left.

"is that a log?" Acantha thought out loud and used her strings to dart around in the air at a fast pace. While seemingly free falling she swiped her hand at her opponents general direction and a string formed in front of her slicing the ground and moving towards him. At the same time she darted in another direction aiming her shotgun at him and firing a net of her string at him.

Well, this old man certainly wasn't slow. Otrov knew he'd be able to protect himself in some way, but he never expected him to slash 6 high-speed bullets out of the air at almost point-black range. He had to hope that action tired him out, causing him to use more energy than he'd use for an actual attack. As Otrov emptied his clip, he allowed himself to land back on the ground, crouching down and sliding backwards as he cocked his gun, filling it up with a new set of bullets.

Otrov took a moment to analyse his enemy, sensing the disturbing energy surrounding the old man. Was this.. area of effect? Perhaps they were different after all. Did he plan to cover the entire arena in his virus? No, that'd spell the end for Otrov, as a thought suddenly entered his mind. If the old man only uses melee attacks, he'll surely be making smart use of his energy, where he himself uses ranged attacks, which require a lot more power. Otrov came to the conclusion that this Immortal would be able to outlast him, if he wasn't able to perform an "injection" very soon.

He had to try something different, after quickly sliding his blade back into the sheath, Otrov began tensing the muscles in his right arm, forming a white, glowing orb. This was the most he could do with Aether, the god energy that all Artificials are blessed with. The enemy should be able to tell that this is a different energy, but there's no way he'd understand the properties of Aether, giving him an advantage. This sphere was similar to the firework he let off earlier, but would create a damaging impact upon detonation. Otrov leant forward, tossing the orb of Aether into the air above his enemy, followed by a quick shot from his pistol, timed so it would cause the orb's detonation as soon as it entered his range. Simultaneously, he began forming a meter-long arrow of Chemical energy, using the hand the orb was previously in. He'd be using a lot of energy, but it was now or never, the longer he waited, the more dangerous the situation would become.

Yushino, sitting among the crowd, was cheering along with all the fighting. Blood sports were his favorite thing, at least he thinks so for the moment, the sight of these powerful souls fighting would make drool if he could. Oh well, at least once he got hungry there'd be plenty to eat around here, maybe he'd even get to join in the fun at some point! Or make his own fun, the thought makes him giggle for nearly a minute.

At the moment Yushino wore a simple suit and top hat, with the only outstanding piece of equipment the casual observer seeing being his mask that leaked a white misty substance which connected to something underneath his suit. Eyes shaded but insanely darting around him, Yushino began to laugh at the folks who cringed at his appearance.

The question as to how the hell he came here, or how he's going to leave, never entered the demon's mind.

Asterot continued to observe his opponent closely, especially any kind of signs of an attack, when she flicked her hand at him he went right into evasive actions. He dropped all the way to the ground, then jumped to the right, during his evasion she shot at him, what appeared to be an extremely thin web of string. "I guess?" Asterot threw the log in his hand towards the web and pushes himself upwards again back into the air.

@Petroshka

Acantha's smile grew as the log simply got tangled in the web while he flew into the air, into her realm. as soon as he was about to fall she decided to say 'fuck it' to holding back and the strings above him making the dome flew downwards wrapping around his limbs. "tsk tsk, leaving your advantage." Acantha made a fist with her hand and five razor sharp strings formed, they zoomed toward Asterot. she wont kill him, she'll just cut a few limbs. with her other hand she aimed the shotgun at his face and shot some normal bullets.

Nanautzin got down low as his opponent started doing multiple things. Throwing up that sphere of energy which concerned him. It was different from the energy he had been using. What was this man? Nonetheless Nanautzin needed to to end this soon. He didn't like this at all. Not only did he need to keep track of that orb he needed to be wary of what he was crafting in his hand.

Nanautzin sheathed his blade and the black viral membrane covered not only the blade but his entire body. This membrane connected to Nanautzin's muscles and nerves further enhancing the sickly immortals physical prowess. Nanautzin parted his hands to reveal in his right hand a strange weapon. His arm had become a whip that he could use to attack from a long or mid range. Then as with the avatar Nanautzin began feeding his energy into the ground and the membrane that was just at his feet began spreading slowly but surely across the arena floor.

Nanautzin was panting under his viral enhancement. His fight with the avatar had drained him drastically, and the energy he had assimilated into himself was all but expended. He would have enough energy to cover the area floor in a thin layer and if he gave up the enhancing armor he could make another weapon before pushing himself too far.<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_08/Whipfist_M_1.png.85a93e8944ed44a843ac9e5b37fe1e51.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="147573" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_08/Whipfist_M_1.png.85a93e8944ed44a843ac9e5b37fe1e51.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

As Nanautzin crouched and covered himself in some kind of armour, Otrov's pistol shot connected with the Aether orb. Causing a large explosion of shining energy, it wouldn't deal much damage, especially considering that the enemy had buffed up his defence, but it could push his avatar off it's feet, but this became unlikely as the Immortal crouched down, making him more stable, and resistant to Otrov's attack.

He noticed a few things at this point, it appeared as though the old man was low on endurance. Perhaps Otrov had overestimated him? Or on the other hand, he might have underestimated the membranes and armour he was protecting himself with. Were these defences so powerful that they drained him of energy that quickly? He guessed it was down to whoever would infect the other first, would Otrov pierce through Nanautzin's defences? Or would Nanautzin outlast him enough to trap him in the viral membrane? This was it, if he could infect the old man while he was already exhausted, there was no chance he'd come back. He had to take this chance, using a huge burst of energy right now.

With the 5 bullets he had left in his pistol, and the fully charged up spear of highly concentrated chemicals, he began his follow-up attack. At first, he launched the spear low, aiming for his opponent's knees, then followed up by emptying his clip, firing high-speed bullets at Nanautzin's core. He timed this so that the bullets would reach Nanautzin first, hopefully opening the enemy's guard for the main attack. This spear was designed to reduce speed, endurance, and potency of energy. Usually he had to specify which effect his attacks would have, but given the chance to charge up such a large spear, he could perform a powerful attack like this, though the downside was the energy cost, he had about 1/4 of his energy remaining in his soul, and he needed to back up in order to recharge.

Nanautzin was right to brace himself by crouching low when it came to that orb. With his newly reinforced body Nanautzin could easily dodge the spear but the bullets were faster. Luckily just manipulating a viral membrane already placed took far less energy than producing it. Nanautzin decided to risk it and with his left arm blocked his head and heart taking the bullets until he could dash to the side and landed on the wall of the arena with enough force to contort the metal. The bullets managed to crack and shatter the armor leaving his left arm exposed. The viral armor was beginning to repair itself but that would take a few moments. Just as quickly Nanautzin lept high into the air and reared back his right arm which had become the whip. Energy gathered for a moment before the whip shot out at incredible speed directly at the strange man. Leaving Nanautzin with an extremely long arm that could easily reach the earth. The membrane on the floor continued its expansion assimilating any matter it came into contact with to fuel its expansion.

Otrov grimaced as the old man dodged his powerful spear attack, he had put a lot of faith into that attack. Now the fight was bound to last a while, or he'd be outright defeated. He seemed to have damaged the enemy's armour, but was it worth it to use the last few ounces of energy on this opportunity? No, he thought. He definitely needed to regenerate energy, or he'd have no chance once the arena was flooded with disease.

He began to back up as Nanautzin launched a whip-like attack at him, he didn't have much energy left to defend himself, but he still retained an impeccable sense of timing and raw strength. Standing his ground, Otrov holstered his pistol and placed both hands on the hilt of his blade, drawing it and slashing the end off of the enemy's whip, dashing away to avoid being infected by anything. He watched the enemy intently, concentrating his energy and allowing it to regenerate within his soul.

@SleepyBuddha

Nanautzin grimaced as he cut away the tip of his whip and moved away. Otrov was correct to move away as from the tip of the whip he had cut off another source of the viral membrane began to spread. Realizing that the whip wasn't going to work Nanautzin decided it was best to use a skill he hadn't used during his fight with the avatar.

Nanautzins arm retracted back to normal size and he fell to the earth. Now surrounded by his virus he could easily start recovering energy. Nanautzin shed his armor everywhere but his legs and from that a mass formed it seemed to be drawing in energy from the entire membrane network. This halted the expansion but something else was at play. Nanautzin remained beside this viral mass his sword at the ready. His complexion made him appear tired or perhaps that was because of him using his energy which gave him a sickly appearance.

'What will he do now? Stay at a distance and recover or try to disrupt my plan?' Nanautzin thought to himself. Half of the arena was quickly being overtaken by the virus at this point.

@Rurnur

Asterot's brows bent down in aggravation after his limbs were bound by wire. As the sharp wire sped towards him, he started to concentrate on the log that he had thrown at the web, forcing the energy inside to break the log into pieces. After it was broken, he used the sharp pieces to fly towards his opponent. As he was doing this the wire cut off one of his arms and a leg, he managed to pull himself slightly away from the wire in order to keep some of his limbs.

@Petroshka

oh? this was, unexpected. Acantha took the gamble and went for her attack hoping her shield can last against that attack. her power was suited for surprise and quick fights rather than drawn out ones. as her wire hit she managed to completely eviscerate the other leg and almost disembowel his stomach but not quite. the shards of log flew into her wiring shield while blocking most of them three hit her side and two hit her leg. letting out a small gasp of pain she suspended herself higher trying to take out the shards while simultaneously looking down at her opponent. she had more tricks up her sleeve she just hoped she doesn't have to show them all in the first round.

This didn't bode well for Otrov, they were both just gathering energy at this point, but what has he gained? Nothing. Nanautzin on the other hand has maintained control over almost the entire arena, and the fight was most definitely in his favour. Otrov has gained back about half of his energy as of now, and decided it was far too dangerous to allow Nanautzin to continue without having to deal with his attacks. He thought to himself, there was a type of attack that he'd been neglecting, due to the nature of the battle, but this Immortal wasn't going to get away from it.

Otrov bent his knees, and pushed forward, gliding over the arena floor to avoid the virus. It was time to use his blade offensively, he was a swordsman after all. "Let's see who can handle their blade, demon!" he shouted, before launching himself into the air a second time and striking down at his target from above, coating his blade with a layer of chemicals all the while, designed to reduce damage effectiveness. Even if the strike was blocked, the impact would cause the chemicals to splash onto his enemy. Not the most effective way to infect someone, but it would do the trick.

As both immortals waited and gathered energy the mass Nanautzin protected grew larger and larger until it seemed large enough to house a person. Nanautzin himself had regained a good fourth of his energy back during the wait. It would probably be enough to end this fight. Especially with his new strategy in place. When Ortrov launched himself into the air he could see he was staking all he had in the attack. So he would respond in kind. The mass began glowing from the energy gathered and it demanded more and cannibalized the virus that had spread across the arena to feed its hunger. Whatever Nanautzin had prepared was ready and for those who could sense energy would see a massive build up of energy was nothing to scoff at. Nanautzin took up a defensive stance and blocked the attack, feeling the chemicals splash onto his skin burning him and infesting his soul. Yet at the moment of impact between the two immortals the mass burst forth revealing what Nanautzin had been cultivating was a viral beast comprised purely out of the virus. The beast leapt forward at Ortrov to defend its master and maker.

Otrov scoffed as his chemicals successfully entered the Immortal's soul, spreading through his energy, clogging up his soul to reduce the overall damage it could inflict, while simultaneously eating away at the soul's shell. But without much time to think, the nearby mass of energy was on him, a strange creature that didn't seem to have a physical form, how was he meant to kill this thing? He guessed that it was just one of Nanautzin's attacks, given form as a sentient monster. Pulling his sword away, he instinctively threw down a small orb of Aether, smashing against the arena floor, creating a small explosion that separated the three figures, giving Otrov a chance to dash from the creature's immediate range.

Somehow, he felt more comfortable now, he'd managed to avoid contact with the virus, yet Nanautzin himself had been infected, only slightly, but it had given him a small advantage. The removal of the viral membrane was huge win for Otrov, he would've been infected in no time had that remained on the arena floor. Besides, dealing with a rampaging beast was Otrov's natural style of combat. He should be able to avoid contact with the monster, all the while Nanautzin would take effect from his chemicals, letting Otrov regain his energy for a final blow.

@SleepyBuddha

Nanautzin had to admit having his soul infected with the chemicals stung immensely. He imagined this is what it felt like to have a cancer slowly eating away at you from the inside. This was a calculated risk on Nanautzin's part. While his soul had been chained and his damage crippled he managed to spawn his beast. The beast could sense its masters plight and remained by his side. If Ortrov thought this to be a simple beast he would be in for a horrible awakening. Now drastically limited Nanautzin put his energy into his blade and looked over to his opponent. " Begin." He told his beast it roared small masses growing out of its back. Each step the beast took planted a small amount of viral membrane on the ground though nothing seemed to come from it.

Nanautzin and his beast charged together the beast using its centipede arm to lash at Ortov while Nanautzin when in to strike. Nanautzin could feel his body getting weaker by the second by he was more than willing to push his body through such pain. What sort of immortal would he be if he couldn't handle such a sickness when he inflicted such on his own people?

Asterot appeared to be completely unfazed by the loss of his limbs, instead of allowing his limbs to regenerate as normal, he used his plant powers to regenerate faster than his already insane physical body regeneration. He hoped to keep his identity as a demon a secret for now, but if it came out that he was a demon it might cause his opponent to freak out or stop the battle which he didn't want. I think this might be more than this avatar can handle.. Alright I'll have to use that....

Asterot landed on the ground, after a few of his limbs had been taken off by Acantha he managed to break through the wire with his other limbs. He slammed his hand on the ground and started to construct a Golem made out of plant life. Through this process he ingrained himself to the ground and was absorbing it's nutrients in order to supplement the creation of the Golem. I need to finish this quickly, before she recovers and realizes what I'm doing.

Acantha frowned at the sight of the Golem being made, her power stamina depended on her string, Which almost all of her defensive strings have been broke and are slowly regenerating. But her offensive strings are all but intact, as well as a ninth of her tactical strings. she used what was left of her defensive strings to cover up her wounds. if she wanted to win she would have to go all out, raising both hands she threw them to both her sides and every string at her disposal came to life the dome became visible and dropped down onto the Plant man at a worrying speed with her above. 100 offensive strings that were already on the ground converging onto her opponent while the few hundred tactical strings would be used as a distraction and to hold him down.

A coordinated attack, huh? He wasn't expected Nanautzin to join his beast, this could be dangerous. He might have to take some hits here, but Nanautzin was totally open to be infected further with a counter-attack, now that he's so confident in this aggressive manoeuvre. As the enemies drew closer, Otrov pulled out his pistol once again, already fully charged, focusing his fire on Nanautzin himself. He saw the monster's attack coming, but he decided not to sacrifice accuracy to evade the attack, instead he slashed the arm in two using his Aether-imbued blade at the last minute, as soon as he emptied his clip into Nanautzin's core. But, it was too late, the energy had already entered his soul, causing some damage upon impact, but he knew there would be more to come. Though it was a success in the sense that the arm wasn't latched inside him.

After engaging in his counter attack, Otrov began bouncing back and to the left, attempting to circle around his enemies so that he'd never find himself in the range of both entities at once.

@SleepyBuddha

While still weakened Nanautzin was able to block and slice the bullets shot at him. Never due to his weakened state his blade shattered and Nanautzin recoiled. So this is the affects of having one's soul corrupted. Well it's wasn't fun to say the least and burned like the worst pain he had even experienced. Nanautzin simply knelt down and slowed his bodily functions down to stop the spread of the chemicals. Leaving the fight in what he had taken the blow for, his creation.

Nanautzin and his breasted shared a hive mind and now that Nanautzin had put his body to rest he could use his mind to control the beast with better precision. The centerpiece that had been lobbed off by Ortrovs blade was quickly replaced with a muscular arm. The masses that had been growing on the beasts back erupted spewing a toxin into the air around him. Like a dense fog the the toxin fell to the ground and began rolling off the monster. It was obvious that this was eating into the monsters energy supply as the monsters body began contorting and shrinking into a more human appearance as the toxin used almost all of the monsters life energy the last thing it did was grow long claws in replace of fingers. This toxin fog didn't behave like any normal gas which expanded outward endlessly. It merely gathered around the now smaller beast and it's later covering a fourth of the arena. The centipede was also still life and still had a purpose to fulfill. Under cover of the gas it burrowed into the earth.

The beast rushed forward with the same intelligence and caution of Nanautzin himself. The infected immortal knew he didn't have the strength to drag this fight out since he took this gamble and aimed to finish it.

@Rurnur

Otrov began to feel an intense pain within his soul, like something was eating away at it from the inside. His power and performance weren't affected, but the virus could possibly destroy his soul if he didn't finish the battle and have time to recover. He saw that Nanautzin had taken some kind of damage from his attack, but his attention quickly focused onto the monster who was extremely aggressive towards him. Otrov knew he needed to stay far away from this beast, but also needing to get close to Nanautzin for a finishing blow. But, this became a problem as the beast started to predict his movements, acting more intelligently. Clever, he thought, trying to keep him away. By the time Otrov had killed this creature, or the creature had exhausted it's power, Nanautzin should have recovered a great amount, putting Otrov at a disadvantage.

He eyed the creature, analysing it. What was it exactly? Purely made from virus energy? It had to be, there's no way an Immortal could create flesh, if he didn't possess flesh energy, like Esther from his squadron, he was familiar with the ability. Does this mean he could simply pass through it? He decided to trust his gut, charging up another magazine of shots for his pistol, he ducked low and dashed forward, preparing himself to suffer the effects of the virus, but continuing to take aim at Nanautzin, blasting through the creature and emptying his clip into Nanautzin as he came back out into clean air. Hopefully this tactic would work, he figured that the creature would hide his movements briefly, reducing Nanautzin's possible reaction time to avoid or block his attack.

But was it worth it? He took the full front of Nanautzin's virus, but if he could finish it in the next few movements, it shouldn't matter. Preparing for a follow-up attack, Otrov dashed forward towards his enemy, sword drawn.
