Unwanted voices in her head were not something Welsha liked nor appreciated, she didn't know if she was being targeted by some prankster or what, but the words gave info, too much info. Still she didn't like it, she wished to drown it on with any sort of tune she could play in her head until it was over, but as suddenly as it started, it vanished without a trace, looking around she could see that others were similarly affected by the way they were acting. So, it wasn't just her it seemed, that seemed to be very concerning she thought of questioning her present company about the events but just as she was making up her mind on whether or not to conserve with them about such a matter, an explosion happened in the room where the Kings once were in, nearly knocking her off her feet.

That was, surprising to say the least, though Welsha held no real love for the people in that room so it didn't really bother her all that much, while she did support the King in his bid to take over the Tigers, she only really did that cause she thought it would benefit Camlia. But that didn't turn out to be the case, so her support for the new King quickly turned nonexistent once Camilia went out of the picture. But still all the gangs losing their leadership just like that would probably mean that an alliance was not on the table as of now, not that she had much hope for one taking place in the first place.

But despite their situation, once Welsha recollected herself and managed to get her bearings she looked around only to see a not so pleasant sight of undead creatures who don't seem very welcoming. It seemed she was still dealing with this nonsense apparently, Welsha already knew her potential wasn't going to be that useful even if she was willing to use it with so many witnesses. Luckily Welsha had a plan when it came to dealing with this sort of unwanted violence that has been brought upon her.

Taking a deep breath in and out, Welsha stared at the skeleton creatures that formed up in front of them before turning towards Ryo placing her hands on her shoulders as if she was trying to address her. Then quickly hid behind her back with letting out a quick "Eeep" before peeking over her shoulders as she stared at the Skeleton creatures before saying "S-Sorry I'm not really useful in actual confrontations and my potential isn't that either useful, and between you and miss Karine, I'm sure you are way more capable then the both of us combined." Welshas eyes then briefly went to the woman she had been conserving with before saying "Not to say you are incapable Miss Karina, but from what you told me about yourself I just didn't think you would be as experienced with the out and about field work as our uhm, friend here."

She honestly didn't know how to do this in a polite way but she was pretty sure that the woman she was with was a Dragon based on how she looked and her demeanor, she hoped that, the sense of wanting to be such a noble protector would sway the Dragon to stick around and maybe protect them from the hoard of spooky skeletons. If only it was near Halloween then these skeletons would be in with the seasonal trend, but it seemed that whoever brought upon them these creatures of the hollow did not care for such trivial things which seemed very unfortunate.

Darius held the bag open but didn't pay attention to the people depositing money. It seemed some people were more willing to shrug off the disturbance than he was. Still, it wasn't long before the bag was weighing him down. Some people just bet the minimum using whatever pocket change they had, but there were some big spenders too.

Though he had little reaction to Vita, Audley, and the betting, the sudden destruction in the centre brought him back to the present and away from his thoughts. His first instinct was, as always, to run away, but they had company, and the feline got his attention.

“Guys, this… This is not our fight.”

He grabbed vita’s arm with a gloved hand, and suddenly remembered what he was carrying in the other.

“Look, if we lose this we're gonna have to pay it back.” Darius held the bag up to the two Serpents as the Beastmaster was wrapping up his speech. “So why don't we get the fuck out, let the others handle it… And maybe we can take a bigger cut for our troubles?” Now was a horrible time to be talking money, but he wasn't sure what else would motivate the Serpents to stick by his side.

Why not go solo? Darius saw the chimerics commence their assault, and he saw the dwindling amount of gangsters that stood between them. If they were like the packs of predators he saw on TV, they'd go for the wimpiest looking prey that stood alone. If he had a couple people with him, maybe they wouldn't try and kill him first.

Bedlam. That was the only word that could even come close to describing what had just transpired as seemingly the entire meeting exploded - literally - and left in its wake chaos and confusion. Compiled with the disorientation that had been the entity's sudden presence, Daigo's world was spinning as he struggled to get back onto his feet. Dust clouds polluted the air - robbing him of ample sight just as the aftermath had also left a ringing in his ears - as he struggled to get his bearings. For a brief moment he spotted the destroyed central chamber, which left him staring for a moment in confusion... was this really happening?

It then hit him - Musai had been in there. Daigo's eyes widened in shock, and his breathing grew more frantic. The way they originally met - the anger he felt that day - had been replaced over time with begrudging respect, and even a friendship. He had looked out for him, as did Hitoshi and some others, and had been there in some times when he needed him. But now it seemed he was gone. Daigo gritted his teeth, straining them through the pressure as rage took hold of his mind until he could see nothing but red. He was going to find whoever did this and was going to make them pay.

Fortunately for him, some faces came through nearby for him to punch. He slowly stood up, facing the four goons, and balled his hands into fists. A golden aura took form wrapped around him from his anger and the ethereal hands he often summoned came up to his own like otherworldly gauntlets of energized scale. His glare was serious, and as the other Phoenixes nearby took hold of the situation, he stated his intentions clearly. "I got the clawed bitch." he stated matter of factly, not caring if anyone was going to join him.

THE FOURTH SEAL / CATASTROPHE
The explosion in the Kings' Chamber rippled throughout Purgatory's core. First came the searing flash of brilliant, white light, then followed a deafening wall of sound that roared through the wider chambers, swallowing all in its path. To an external observer standing at the precipice of that destructive event, this much at least would've been clear: no ordinary person could have possibly survived such a catastrophe.

But as all those who had gathered here on this hallowed night to bear witness to these historic events knew, those who found themselves in that room were far from ordinary.

Within the Kings' Chamber, everything appeared the same, and different.

The same, because the people who had found themselves within just moments before the explosion tore apart the very nearby surroundings, were still there and whole. The Dragon King's Potential held the flames and the falling debris at bay even now, providing a safe haven from the firestorm that had threatened to engulf them all in its maw.

And different, because there were now many more people in the room, standing atop the central table that sat between them all. 'People' who were clad head to toe in black cybernetic armor, and adorned with polished visor-like helmets marked with glowing symbols of cold blue light that pulse faintly. The central figure, scanned its gaze over the assemblage, eliciting a low whirring sound from somewhere within.

k3Yq9nb.png

"Thank you all for coming," it said in a voice that was modulated to the point of erasing any identifiable gender or origin as moss began to grow on the central table beneath its heavy booted feet. Around them, small sprouts began to rise up from cracks in the concrete, as above the ceiling began to peel away, melding into dense, leafy patterns. "By gathering yourselves here, you have saved us the great expense of hunting you down individually."

Just as the walls, ceiling, and floors changed.

It had been quite a while since Robin had been this close to a blast.

Thankfully she wasn't close enough to get scorched, but the shock wave of the detonation did knock her over onto the stone floor. She stood carefully, peeking through her bangs as she looked around at the others in the room. As she stood up straight, she finally looked back to see that the center room that she had just left from was now a cloud of smoke, particulates, and rubble.

...Looks like someone didn't want the gangs to cooperate, and took a swing at taking the gang leadership out all at once. Perhaps someone here was a mole? That, or someone blabbed a bit too much and someone else caught wind of it.

Either way, Ryu was in there. Strats too, and Samira. Really, Robin was sure they were fine. Strats' potential might have kicked in. Gotta love the wonderful world of wrestling. Hiachi was, of course, in the wall... she did hope she was okay, at least. Only one she hoped didn't survive was that prick from the Dragons.

But then, she felt something odd. Like she was being watched. She turned back around, facing away from the rubble, she began to notice portals appear. Obsidian pools of darkness, from which the ever familiar bone white of skeletons crawled forth. This is getting interesting...

"We have a necromancer, of sorts, in our midst." said Robin, a smile appearing on her face.

She glanced back around, taking note of who was closest to her. She could see that bitch Mockingbird nearby, along with Ryo and Welsha. They'll do, for now. As she looked in the other direction, she spotted Augie, Dante, and Tak. Perfection.

"Oh, Hades?" she said, her voice almost a sing-song tone as she looked in Dante's direction. "You handsome devil! I believe its time to... let our demons run, eh?" She then glanced towards Tak and Augie. "I'd say a little of the ol' ultra violence is in order, but since these are all skeletons, we can save the true killing for the necromancer. Let's lay these poor souls to rest. Searching for Hiachi and the others can come later."

As she finished, her pistol emerged from beneath her trench coat along with one of her butterfly knives. The knife spun around in her off hand, twirling as she flicked the blade out, and the pistol in her dominant hand had its safety flicked off by her thumb.

...Since the boss isn't here... maybe I can cut loose?

Christina shrugged. "Maybe. We'd certainly be better off if they did see eye to eye on things for the moment. Cops want us dead or in jail, and I'm not one for orange jumpsuits or stripes." she responded, smirking a little at the end.

Suddenly, chaos. A blast ripped through the central structure nearby, sending Christina stumbling to the floor from the concussive wave. Pelted by bits of concrete and dirt, she covered her head and laid there for a few moments until she was sure that it was over. What the fuck was that!?

She sat up afterwards, looking around. It seemed everyone else in the room was alright, but the central room was mostly smoke and a pile of rubble. Oh fuck. Had someone decided to just ice the entire board of leadership among the gangs? This was NOT good. She climbed to her feet, offering to help Boba on the way up. Then, she heard voices. Ones that weren't particularly friendly.

Four new individuals had arrived, and seemed dead set on fighting them. The perpetrators of the blast? What, an up-and-coming gang or something? Or were they working with the cops? She really didn't care at the moment. For now, she prepped for a fight.

Her jacket came off, Christina shedding it and tossing it to the floor before rolling the sleeves of her turtleneck up. Daigo had already picked his target nearby. The cat-like woman. Damn. Based off how she looks, Hitoshi would be in heaven if he were here. Christina considered joining Daigo in taking her on, but something about the lady with the snakes bugged her. Maybe it was the air of superiority she seemed to exude. Time to knock her down a few pegs.

"I got the snake bitch." muttered Christina, in response to Daigo. As she clenched her fists, faint traces of smoke seemed to waver off of her knuckles.

READY TO BURN.

It boggles the mind, how the current in the streams of fate can so easily shift, sending its vessels to uncharted paradises, or to an unforeseen rocky doom. One moment you are secretly squeezing your body between walls to extract coveted information, only to come face to face with an unexpected individual, experience an unforgettable out-of-body experience, and soon after, everything goes white.

Charlie could barely react to the strange creature slipping in to share the cramped space with the two spies, let alone give a proper reaction to its snarky insult. First he was too absorbed on his ever-growing contempt towards the criminal moguls, and their inability to put their greed and lust aside for the sake of a common threat. And afterwards, his attention was fully on the lucid dream he had just experienced. That creature, that...being, and the way the young man felt a connection with it, it was an experience like nothing before...nay, even if slight, there was a hint of familiarity to it. Back during the Outbreak in central district, the powers of that extremely strong sea creature did something similar, although deceitful in nature. This time around, the dream lacked the malice for deception, leaving only sheer curiosity in its place.

It wasn't too hard for Charlie to piece it all together. Recollections of his research for the last several months, as well as the connection he could make to that chimeric, and even taking into account the knowledge the chief of police had made public. Without a doubt, he had just gotten a glimpse of the entity known as the Sleeper. He opened his mouth, wanting to whisper at his partner-in-crime, wondering if she had also shared that experience, but his body moved on his own as the tremors swiftly grew to catastrophic levels.

His arms wrapped around the woman's body, burying her head into his chest. He turned around just as the wall of the inner chamber began to crack, immediately after exploding with unfathomable fury. The blast's force hit him like a train at full speed, and the debris exploded against his back like vicious shrapnel. Gritting his teeth, he could only stand his ground as the pain chipped away at this legs' stability. What felt like an eternity was in fact only a couple seconds before the two were swept away by the shockwave.

A pile of rubble stood silent as the dust settled, a large chunk of concrete rising from the debris and toppling over. Spawning from beneath, Charlie got up on his knees, he'd gotten a few bruises and superficial cuts here and there, but nothing to ultimately worry about, he'd been through worse. "*Huff, Huff* ...Hey...Are you alright?!" He asked worringly at the scarred girl. "Guess this is what I get for lowering my guard in central for even one second."

Despite being a certain distance from the leaders, with the walls now down the phoenix was able catch the arrival of the intruders from the corner of his eye, quickly getting up on his feet. "Tch, of course, should've seen this coming." In hindsight, to not expect a snitch even within the gang's inner circles was most foolish. "Well, this kind of meeting suits me more, anyways." He planted his foot on the floor, the rock trembling under his dense body, ready to lunge at the invading horde. In the back of his head, he couldn't help but worry about some of the people outside the control room, a very small handful of people he considered his friends, but he could only trust their own capability, as he had his own ass-kicking to do now.

Have you ever witnessed something with your own two eyes that your brain simply refused to believe? Somehow, despite all the bad, and worse, you've seen of this world, you still hold out hope that—no, it couldn't go that far? Could it?

"Bolt!" he shouted, though on second thought he might have just thought it. Not that it mattered. His voice would've been drowned out by the whoosh of the shockwave as it nearly toppled him. A stray breeze could've knocked him over in that moment, as he stared at the smoldering gash in the world where the Kings had been holding their meeting. The Kings, their Queens, and... And...

Running. He was running. Towards the black scar on the horizon. The smoke and dust stung his eyes, choked the breath in his heaving lungs, but he didn't care. This can't be happening.

This can't be happening.

I can't believe this is happening. I can't believe it's happening again.

A geyser of green slime caught Milo square in the chest, hitting him with force like a compact car. It knocked all the wind out of his lungs, and momentum out of his legs, and sent him careening back the way he came. He rolled to a crouch, whipping around to find the source of the blow. Luckily, his assailant wasn't being subtle.

"Keep your eyes on us, boy," the man purred, as ooze undulated around him as if it had a life all its own. The implication was obvious enough: Milo wasn't going to get anywhere near the... Milo wasn't getting anywhere fast with these clowns barring his path. Maybe Daigo had the right idea. He scrounged around behind his back for the sketchbook tucked within his waistband as irritation pricked his forehead. He didn't have time for this. He had to— he had...

Khydnah’s composure remained unshaken, though her eyes gleamed with calculated intensity as the armored figures materialized amidst the chaos. Her gaze swept the room, noting the transformations taking hold—the sprouting moss, the shifting walls—and the unsettling presence of their uninvited guests. She stayed seated, her hood shrouding most of her face, but her voice carried through the disarray with calm clarity.

“̴A̴ ̴g̸r̷a̷n̴d̶ ̸e̴n̷t̵r̶a̵n̵c̵e̸,̴”̴ she mused, her tone neither impressed nor dismissive, but clinical. Her fingers drummed softly against the table, the sound swallowed by the growing tension. “̷I̴ ̴s̷u̷p̵p̶o̴s̶e̶ ̶w̷e̷ ̴s̴h̴o̶u̵l̸d̸ ̶b̵e̸ ̵f̶l̵a̷t̶t̶e̸r̵e̴d̴ ̴b̸y̷ ̶t̵h̷e̵ ̶e̷f̸f̵o̶r̴t̷.̵”̸

Musai groaned as he pulled himself from the rubble, every motion a reminder of the force that had just torn through the chamber. His ribs ached, and blood dripped from a shallow gash across his forehead, warm and sticky as it trailed down his temple. Dust coated his clothing, and one sleeve of his jacket was shredded, exposing raw scrapes beneath. Still, he staggered to his feet, favoring his left leg as he scanned the room.

“What in the actual hell…” His voice was low, breathless, disbelief thick in his tone as he leaned against a crumbled section of wall for support. His gaze locked onto the armored figures standing atop the central table, their presence alien and commanding amidst the chaos. The shifting environment only added to the surreal horror of the moment—moss creeping, walls distorting, reality itself unraveling around them.

Musai let out a dry, bitter laugh, though it hurt his ribs to do so. Saved them the trouble of hunting us down, huh? Glad to know we’re so damn considerate...” He spat blood onto the ground, his teeth gritted against the pain, eyes flicking toward the gang leaders to gauge their reactions.

One hand clenched into a fist, trembling slightly as adrenaline coursed through him. His Potential hummed faintly in the back of his mind, though he knew better than to act rashly. Whoever these people were, they hadn’t come unprepared. Still, his pride wouldn’t let him stay silent.

“What’s the matter?” Musai growled, his voice cutting through the tension. “Afraid you’d get bored waiting for us to pick each other off? Or maybe you just wanted front-row seats to the show...” He forced himself to stand straighter, ignoring the searing protests of his injuries. Despite his defiance, a seed of unease had taken root in his gut. These weren’t ordinary enemies. The way they spoke, the way they moved—it reeked of something far beyond their usual turf wars. Still, Musai wasn’t about to let them see him flinch. Not now.

Acting on instinct alone, Ryu had acted to protect his inner circle when he had sensed that something was amiss. At the very least, none of the gangs could be held responsible... for now, at least. His own power could do so much for others though, and he fought himself unwittingly indebted to Kanna's quick thinking as he had only managed to grab Samira close to protect her and had very nearly been able to grab Missy as well. His form shimmered under the dying light, inhuman and otherworldly as he took in a deep breath and looked at Samira for a moment before nodding. His attention then turned towards the perpetrators at large who made their presence so readily known.

The Tiger spirit itself had ceased its constant yammering now and observed silently what was happening, but most noticeably it was now observing Ryu with curiosity as he unsheathed his blade with just his thumb from its scabbard. Violent energies erupted to infuse the blade with his power, and he himself looked on as those 'people' gloated about getting to kill them all. The enemies of their kind... all clumped together in a single space.

If Ryutaro had been amicable before, now he was entirely set on releasing his pent up strength to crush those before him - just as he had during the coup. He had little patience for mincing words with such cretin, as Khydnah and some Phoenix seemed intent on doing. Instead, he stated the truth of what was going to happen with a distorted, grotesque voice:

"You've made a grave mistake coming here. Now, I'm going to cut out your hearts and feed them to you."

Kanna only had seconds to react when the walls came crashing down.

With a hand held up above her head, palm outward, all the rubble that would've collapsed on top of everyone inside the room froze in the air, shielding them from harm. Though, she was only fast enough to protect those closest to the table.

She had remained quiet since her initial comments, letting others do the talking and processing everything that was being said. Then came the peculiar vision that seemed to appear to everyone within Purgatory. And now this. What an interesting evening.

The shield of gravity remained intact as Kanna's hand returned to her side. The other Kings were quick to address their new guests in their own unique manner. But what caught her attention more was the sudden growth of the sprouts coming from the unknown figure in the center of the table. Her eyes looked around as the same growth could be seen on the surfaces around them, surrounding them.

Her focus returned to the party crashers, who Ryutaro was actively threatening. And she, for one, silently echoed the sentiment. Her hand came to her left hip, drawing out a katana from its sheath, a faint ring of metal following the motion. Etched into the blade was a series of characters that spelled out a certain name.

The blade's tip fell forward as Kanna held the katana in a lowered stance, waiting for the next move. Escalating this would more than likely make things worse. Though, it wasn't clear whether that could be avoided now. By all accounts, they've already reached that point.

Dark purple smoke hissed out from a pile of a concrete and metal, gathering in one spot before Ryo reformed, taking a deep breath and coughed.

She had been bouncing around between participating in idle chit chat to hanging out on her own to now whatever the fuck this was. What she immediately remembered was an odd hallucination that she couldn't make heads or tails of. Then there was a loud cracking sound and suddenly the walls came down. Ryo knew when she signed up for the Tigers she'd get involved with some shady shit, but she never imagined something to this effect.

Nothing like jumping into the deep end.

A hand came up to rub her eyes as Ryo cleared her vision. Through the settling dust and darkness, she could make out some of the others who were in the room with her. But there was something else with them. And they were definitely not human. The sound of bones rattling and shifting definitely confirmed it.

Before Ryo could act, a woman let out a cry before taking shelter behind her. She was one of the few Ryo briefly spoke to.

"Oi, matte-"

The undead... things were getting closer, and this was no time to sit around. Ryo reached into the inside of her jacket, drawing out a pair of kunai that were linked together by a metal chain. She gripped one of the blades by the handle and her other hand held onto the chain, the second blade swingingly lightly in the air. Ryo glanced back to Welsha.

"Just, try not to get in the way, yeah?"

Ryo didn't often find herself in fights. But that didn't mean she couldn't fight.

Kings & Inner circle, and canned food

The sound of the rumbling set off alarms in Lloyd's head, as it was unnatural and imposing. He started his transformation at a rapid rate, but halfway through, a blinding flash hits him along with sizzling and crackling of what seems to be electricity. As per his duty, his did his best to protect Kanna from whatever arose that could harm her, only to find that it was completely unneccesary because she already took care of the initial issue. He might look mighty foolish now, but at least he tried, right?

However, this act on instinct along with his halfway transformation - which has caused most of clothes to be torn due to his increased size and grown scales - has changed his demeanor to one he did not wish people to see so suddenly. In a way, it might be a good thing for him that some unwanted guests appeared in the middle of the room, demanding to be the center of attention.
"Arrogant talk for someone who is surrounded! All I see is canned food!" he snarled to the talking tin can.
Well, maybe it was not much of a good thing after all.

Lloyd exposes his now sharp teeth and readies his claws, while his eyes remained fixated on the targets before him. He scanned them up and down, which is when he noticed the greenery sprouting about. Tendrils rising from the cracks in both floor and ceiling, seeming to slowly cover the room in its entirety. Did this pose a serious threat, or is it merely a poor attempt at intimidation. In any case, there is not much appetite to be eating greens.
"I appreciate the gesture by creating a side of salad, but I don't get excited for raw vegetables."

Why some were acting calm still, while it is commendable, it makes no sense. Someone who wishes you no harm, would not make an explosive entrance like this. An obvious foe should be met with force. At least, those are Lloyd's thoughts in his current state. He is just itching to be batting them around like a cat playing with mice. He just has to watch out that he doesn't accidently harm any allies in this fight.

“Look for them later? Like hell it can wait.”

Those were the words that left Roach’s lips. His eyes only bothered to give a short look towards Robin. Barely enough to acknowledge her presence, he didn't spare so much for anyone else around him but Dante.

“I don't give a fuck about this gang battle shit. Keep me the hell out of it! I just want to know she's safe.”
Roach shouted with a clenched fist, he walked past Dante, only pausing to offer a small moment to talk in his friend's ear, “Tell that mutt of yours to keep her safe. I'm gonna go pull her out of whatever bullshit she's in,” he said with a point over his shoulder. He visible bristled with annoyance more than anything else, in the face of this undead army and the grouping of the four superpowers he held not a smidge of care.

He stepped back into Purgatory, swallowed by the dark.

The night was delving further into chaos and every second of it made Samira wish she had just stayed home. She could have been relaxing on the couch with a glass of wine in hand, watching her favorite reality tv series but here she was, listening to a segment of who can be the loudest and most threatening. The vision they all shared came to the queen as a shock but she remained calm, more concerned than disturbed. However, the next moments of ramblings mattered not in the face of what was to follow. In an instant, there was an explosion and her body moved involuntarily, forcefully grabbed from her seat.

When the dust settled, she looked around bewildered before looking up at Ryutaro in his threatening form. It took her a second to realize what had just happened, her golden eyes narrowing as she looked upon those who dared to interrupt their meeting. Samira gathered her bearings, stepping slightly away from Ryutaro to signify that she was alright and more than ready to help address the intruders. She waited though upon hearing the Serpent King’s words, curious to know what the armor clad figures intended to do. There was no point in fighting without acquiring answers. This meeting was intended to be a secret. One of the four gangs had a rat.

Henry chuckled as he continued to ruffle Jun's hair, before allowing the shorter Phoenix to swat his hand away. To each their own, Henry supposed. But Henry didn't see what was so weird about his own hobbies. Sure, pills were hard to swallow, but they were gentle and fun. His drinks were tasty and could make someone tipsy. And needles, well, at the very least, Henry wasn't as scared to go to the doctor's office to get a vaccination.

At the mention of 'fun' and the malicious smirk that spread across Jun's face, Henry couldn't help but match it in kind and grin back. Henry wasn't usually one for mischief, but when he was around Jun, he found that causing some chaos and making bad decisions was always a good time. In response to Hiyma's worries, Henry assured her in a blase tone, "Not to worry, I'll make sure we don't cause too much damage."

Just as Henry began to lead the way, explosions sounded from the meeting room, heralding the arrival of a meddling party. As the other gangs began to engage with different factions, Henry found himself, Hiyma, Jun, as well as a Tiger and a Serpent surrounded by familiar feral-looking creatures. It wasn't that he had seen them before, rather Henry had heard about them from his fellow gang members, and he had received warnings about them from his master, a man involved in the force, before he had essentially fled the country. And from his warnings, Henry knew these things were not to be trifled with. They had the strength of several HPs, mindless as husks, heeding the police's directions.

"Well, would you look at that Jun," Henry commented, "Our fun came to us."

Henry's hands trembled as he unbuttoned his jacket, wrapping it around his left hand. In his eyes, they were significantly outmatched, and if not for the fact that Henry was scared shitless, he probably would have shit his pants right there and then. He was so scared, his legs were turning to soft gooey jelly and his arms felt like lead as he drew his titanium pipe from his belt. His heart was pounding with adrenaline, harder than from a cocaine high. Oh, this feeling of being screwed was so dizzyingly intoxicating that he felt that he could get addicted to it. It was just such a shame that these monsters, as well as the officer in front of him, didn't feel it. Henry believed in spreading the love, and so he was determined to rectify that.

"Please tell me you brought Jun's sword," Henry pled to Hiyma. He smirked madly at the one-eyed gunslinger, exposing several rows of elongated canines, "It was so kind of you to bring me dinner. Let me repay you with the thrill of your life."

And with that, Henry stood proudly, jacket ready to intercept attacks and his pipe at the ready to counterattack. If they broke through the husk's ranks, perhaps they could get a shot at the gunslinger, no pun intended. And if not, well, Henry was going to enjoy every moment of this right until the end.

The transformation started slow, with moss steadily spreading beneath their feet, appearing to be the work of one of the mysterious figures now standing in the center of the room. But it wasn’t.

Dusting himself off, Sura grinned, letting his domain take shape as he wiped his face with the back of a hand.

Soon, the smell of soil permeated the room. The concrete ground turned to dirt—soft with the crunch of rock, leaves, and greenery underneath, and massive trees began to shoot up. Their ancient roots spread like veins between them all. Leaves unfurled, dew sparkling in artificial moonlight, droplets falling into puddles forming along the uneven terrain. Around them, the musty atmosphere of the underground meeting room dissolved, replaced by a vast, dark forest that hummed with an ethereal energy.

IMG_3458.jpg

“HAHAHAHAHAAA! HOW IRONIC!” Sura bellowed. “STABBING THE BACKS BEFORE THEY’RE EVEN TURNED!” Oh, how he loved this.

“There’s a squeaker among us, hm?” A low, rumbling chuckle bubbled up from his chest.

From the distance came the sound of a howling wind, carrying with it eerie echoes of phantom screams. The trees trembled at first, their branches quivering as if in anticipation before they began to writhe in unnatural motions, bending and twisting as the gale surged closer.

When it finally caught up to them, it struck in a frenzy, whipping the forest into chaos.

Tossing a sideways glance at his fellow Phoenixes, Sura’s eyes betrayed his sadism. “Feel familiar?...” He asked, referring to the hurricane that decimated the South a time ago. “Don't worry, it's not that... It's worse.”

The explosion coming from the Room the Kings were in was unexpected, with the entire leadership gone Helva would probably initiate a takeover of the Phoenixes and reform them back to state that adheres more so to it's traditional values. Undoing the damage Sura has done will be hard but it is doable thanks to her keeping logging data on a majority of the Phoenixes, she suppose that she should notify Helva of this news. Telepathic connecting with Helva she went on to give them a briefing on the situation, A explosion happened within the room the Kings were by they looks of it they should all be dead, but I haven't done any investigation of it yet. There was a short pause before Helva responded A investigation can wait, we can confirm their deaths later, for right now get the Phoenixes back to the South, I bet whoever did that was probably also the one that caused the situation that made us lose Lyric. So be wary especially of the Dragons and maybe even other Phoenixes there might be a traitor amongst you guys. Hiyma couldn't help but roll her eyes when Helva spoke to her, but before she could respond back to Helva a unwelcomed guest decided to make their appearance, an older man that looked like he got rejected from pirate school and has come to take vengeance on the people that denied his application. Unfortunately the man seemed to have friends, the Wraiths that she so heard about from some of her fellow Phoenixes when they did that stupid raid of theirs.

With a sigh Hiyma explained their new profound predicament to Helva in her head Unfortunately we have unexpected guests, pretty sure their the same ones found from the raid on the HQ when Bolt lead. There was silence for a few moments before Helva responded Deal with it, atleast we know just who our traitor has been working with or is using, remember Phoenix lives first others don't matter. I'll get a team ready and meet you somewhere, don't take unnecessary risks, now do me a favor and forge a way out of there. I'll talk to you later. With that said there was complete silence between the two as their telepathic link cut off. Hiyma wasn't use to taking the lead when it came to combat, but she was practically the best suited for taking down HPs alone. However it seemed that Henry had concerns about Juns sword, Hiyma didn't have it, however she did have a dagger hidden underneath her sleeve and if she really needed to she could ask Helva to switch her out with another one of her shadow friends, from the videos that she seen of them Yizlo could probably make a sword for Jun to use. But that can be Plan B, for now she would try to handle this, with her first strategy which involves throwing Pei and their friend under the bus. Divide and Conquer.

"I got no sword on me, so Jun will just have to make do with a Dagger, less reach but he will have to make it work." with that said Hiyma pulled out a Dagger from under her sleeves before walking up to Jun and holding it out for him to take. The Dagger was a gift from Helva just in case someone managed to close the distance on them, but Hiyma was more of a long-distance fighter, she figured that it would be more effective in the hands of Jun instead of her own. Luckily for her the area was dark so she would be in one of her stronger states, she looked at the officer before saying "Yeah, yeah, wouldn't be the first time someone said that nonsense." after she said that she made a small advancement in front of Henry and Jun in and created a razer shadow wall in order to split the wraith forces in half and making it so that the Officer no longer had eyes on them. This would make it so that Pei and his friend would then have to deal with that Officer and the other 3 Wraiths without help from them, if they survived long enough for them to deal with their group she would then be able to focus on the other one and with any luck Pei and his friend would be able to atleast take one of them down, and if not who cares Pei is a traitor. Regardless this tactic would allow them to only have to worry about dealing with three of them for now, she addressed Jun and Henry "Don't get too close to the Shadow wall, they could potentially break through it." She remembers how Charlie was able to brute force his way through one of her Shadow walls one time. Speaking of Charlie she still never received a text or call from him, it was worrying, if she found him she was totally going to kill him for worrying her like this. Without much of a second thought Hiyma created tentacles of shadows and launched them towards the nearest Wraith, before saying "Cover me and kill those things."

He was blown to bits.

There was a lack of light, of thought, of sensation— an emptiness filling every crack and crevice of his being. True darkness, the type neither he or Dante could see through.

Then there was a gasping, cold sensation. The wind shuddered, quivered under the weight of his existence. He shot up to the surface, from beneath the emptiness, flailing his arms around and taking greedy pulls of breath. Dripping with black blood and broken tissue.

And then he was awake again.

You couldn’t kill a shadow. At best, you could hold a light to it and pretend it had disappeared, for a while. But he would still be there. No matter the punch. No matter the blast. Nothing could hurt him; nothing would hurt him. He had never felt anything. He had never been scared of anything. He was a predator, a nightly creature, an animal— he had only ever feared the sun, its unwanted radiance, the light that peeled his skin back to expose his ugliness to the world.

But for a moment there, in that flash of light, the hound could’ve sworn he felt… scared?

The explosion didn’t reach him, but the light did. It tore the wolf down into thin dark strips that billowed aimlessly in the wind, made him into an explosive mess of thin, dark bones and static stripes of shadow, minute wisps of his being danced in incessance, drawing sharp curves in the air, raging at the burn of the light.

Cerberus sat there, arms hanging limply by his sides, his knees shoved deep into piles of rubble and dust.

The shadow wore its silence like a ring, a snake that coiled tight around his finger, twisting inward the more he tried to pull it off. Uselessly, forcing, trying to regain his voice— he was hopeless. An unconfined, shit-tasting feeling swelled at the mouth of his throat. A string of knots in a cord, a message in code, flawed— he was in pain for once. As pathetic as Dante, for once.

He gritted fangs at the feeling.

Through glints of pinched glares, in between inward jeers and curses at himself, what remained of the wolf’s eyes scanned the room. Hazy and unfocused, his neck tried twisting to look. It was more difficult than it should’ve been. It was his awareness fighting against the light, not to scatter and return to Dante’s shadow.

The blasted, torn remains of his head lolled to the side, his eyes staggering to look in the direction where he’d caught their silhouettes. It was when his eyes accommodated to the dark, processed the two figures standing in front of him, that his fear and anxiousness slumped out of his chest. Hiachi was just fine. That little blue-haired gremlin had protected her.

Dante would kill him if something were to happen to her under his watch. He was lucky.

The shadow leaned back, his upper body giving, snapping at the waist like a twig and falling heavy like a log, with a thump, his head banged against the floor. Cerberus chuckled, gargled out a coughing fit. The lurid, god-awful rays of light breaking through the inside of the wall finally catching him, searing him apart.

Could he rest now, then?

‘Keep her safe…’

A voice. Rushed. Panicked. The usual barked orders he would be hearing on the daily. Even now, he was ordering him around. What a fucking pain…

‘Get the fuck up.’

“Tch…” — The dark matter started to re-gather, sculpturing in the holes of what was missing of his anatomy. The wolf lay there snarling, clawing and pushing at the ground, the debris jutting off the floor flattening against his weight— he growled, kept pushing.

ca42209a8819b7be98920a962383f8dd.gif

The wind shuddered, quivered under the weight of his anger.

“Take two looong fuckin’ steps back, lil munchkin-man.” — A low snarl came up behind Charlie, and before he could even turn around to meet the source of that barked annoyance, a clawed hand twice the size of his little munchkin-man head was already grabbing his face. Cerberus growled, froth and tar-like drops drooling out of his gritted teeth as he shoved the young phoenix away from Hiachi. Sending him two long fucking steps back.

Cerberus shrugged, the motion traveling up his body like uncontrollable spasms, he was steaming and sizzling under the light. He stood there looming in front of Hiachi, hunched like an old man with a slipped disc, a ghost struggling to keep its form, a lit candlewick fighting back against the wind. He grumbled, picked his shoulders up and straightened, hid from the light behind the girl’s shadow.

“Y’gotta share some room with me for now, kid. I’m fuckin’ falling apart being this far away from 'im...” — He shrunk to her size, latched onto her back like a thousand-eyed parasite. The room, the wall itself had already begun to disappear entirely, replaced with moss and low grass, tree trunks sprouting around them. It was a change of scene on-stage, sudden, the play submerging and reemerging as something new, coming back to keel.

The wolf only glared at the changing scenery, growling at that growing, raging wind coming in from the background. The shadows twisting to grapple Hiachi’s body, fit her around her hands like a glove — “This’ll ‘ave to do until those two dickheads get ‘ere.”

“Just stay away from the light, will ya'? I shouldn’t ‘ave to fuckin’ explain it to ya’ by now…”

“I’ll keep y’ covered.”

“I’ll consider helpin’ y’ out too if y’ keep the girl safe, lil’ tooth fairy.” — One shadowy limb sprouted from behind Charlie and smacked him square in the back of his head before vanishing.

”Stay close. If we’re gonna fight we’ll do it together.”

Hector stepped back, not expecting the floor to be so soft beneath his boots. He already had formed a blade in one arm, and with the other, he dragged Boltius back with him after making sure his people were okay. For once, Hector wasn’t charging straight through to the middle, screaming with rage. No, he studied the surroundings and the way the other gang’s leaders were preparing for the unknown threat. While he had become less impulsive recently (his outburst in the meeting aside), the truth was that he was scared. There were few fights he faced where he truly believed he had a chance of dying, but they were far more common nowadays.

The ends of his jacket had begun to flap in the wind, and his hair got caught in his face for a moment before another gust blew it free. He locked eyes with Sura, not hiding his hatred.

" Mmn~ Yeah, yeah, Mini-Helv--err, Mini-Rev~," Jun hummed in response, rolling his eyes at the small shadow's usual overt display of cautiousness.
"Not sure what you're so worried about~. I mean, how much trouble could I possibly cause, when I don't even have my--hm?"
The boy suddenly stopped dead in his tracks, his attention suddenly drawn to the ceiling at the center of the chamber.
It was a subtle sound, one that only someone with his level of sensitive hearing could detect.
A faint tremor, the sound of stone and concrete cracking and breaking, the all-to-familiar sound of destruction.
Something is coming. Something big, something terrible, his instincts warned him, giving him just enough time to brace himself as a pillar of blinding, white light tore through the kings' chambers, with a thunderous force that knocked him off of his feet.

The swaying, trembling ground, the stifling heat, the intense ringing in his ears, made it difficult for Jun to regain his bearings, gritting his teeth as he concentrated on making sense of the sudden shift in his surroundings.
Through the blurry haze of smoke and smoke, he couldn't make out the state of the kings' chambers, he could only hope that his sword hadn't just gone up in smoke, along with his new leader.
Through the tips of his fingers on the ground, he could sense the faint pattern of footsteps nearby, drawing his attention to the cloaked figure that blithely appeared before them, a gun casually braced against his shoulder. Dimly, he could make out his voice, as if he were hearing it from another room over.
Then, the blur of movement above, shadows shifting about from within the light, like eels gliding through water.
Effortlessly, they were surrounded; him, Henry, Hiyma, and some distance away, Pei, and... somebody else.
The ringing in his ears had begun to fade, and he could finally find enough steady purchase on the ground to rise back to his feet.
"Yeah, six elite enemies, and I guess that would make that old guy the mini boss~!" Jun replied to Henry's lighthearted quip, massaging away the lingering throbbing in his eardrums with one hand, while the other reached behind him to accept the blade from Hiyma, his focused eyes never straying away from the targets before him, until he felt the familiar, thrill of a blade in his hand.
He pried his eyes away from the new arrivals to study the new toy he held with meticulous fervor, examining it from every angle, twirling it about to get a feel for it's weight, tapping it with his finger to see what material it was made with, and how well it could transfer sound.
It was...a bit disappointing, honestly; mass-produced, one note, and certainly not the style that Jun preferred.
Hopefully, it would at least be able to get the job done.
And if it didn't, well, that's Helva's fault for not going for quality!

A thrilling tremor pulsed through him as stepped forward, standing alongside Henry.
It burned hot in his core, ebbing and flowing in rhythm with his heartbeat, spreading outwards to dance across his skin like electricity.
Judging from the faint trembling he could feel from Henry, he was feeling it too, hungry and ready for the kill.
"Race you there," he darkly chuckled, the grip on his knife tightening, as every muscle in his body tensed, ready to lunge forward.
Hiyma stepped between them, already having put her power to work to isolate a trio of the goggled specters away from their pack.
The spear of shadow she flung from her hand served as the perfect signal, splitting the tight corridor in half as it sailed through the air, Jun bolted close behind, charging into the fray.
He waited, until the arrow of dark was just about to meet with it's target, before dipping low to the ground, and abruptly to the side, diving through the small gap between the spear and the ground, taking advantage of the encroaching dark to surprise the specter next to Hiyma's target with a sudden attack.
"You," Jun said, gazing enthusiastically up at his prey, as he lunged forward, aiming to drive the knife in his hands deep into the ghost's diaphragm.

Perhaps any other group would have better luck with something as simple as debating a damn alliance. It was irritating that so few of these so-called leaders wanted to stand up and lead. With the various infighting the Dragons and Phoenixes were doing it was only natural nothing would get done. At least they stomped that out before trying something as precarious as an alliance.

She was ready to speak up and tell the stick in the mud to cut the legalese. The dragon Jack had to realize that they had to clean up their own house before they could make promises like that. Yet when she cleared her throat ready to pull the conversation back she heard the sound of an explosion. She closed her eyes and brought her hands over her head doing all she could to futilely protect herself.

The flash cleared and there was people on the table mere feet in front of her. She forced herself up out of the chair and back. A brief glance showed her what saved her as the debris was still being suspended over the table. She dove into her bag grabbed a pistol and brought herself as far to the wall as possible. Before she could even think of letting off cover fire she heard the accusations begin to sling.

Backstabbing? You think WE did this? YOU, IDIOTS, ARE THE ONES INFIGHTING!”

She raised her hand shooting once, twice, three times providing cover fire.

“Miss Samira, Ryo Sir I’ve got you on support!”

She reloaded the gun ready to keep up the flurry as long as she could.

Jericho had been trying to figure out what happened when the chaos erupted around them. Daigo and Milo had experienced something that seemed to disorient them, along with everyone else in the room. Rico didn't know what, and when he had opened his mouth to ask, everything exploded, and a bunch of fucking freaks came through some portals. He was on his feet instantly, taking a few steps back from the strangers.

Daigo had already called dibs on the clawed one, and the slime guy seemed fixated on Milo, but honestly, he didn't think it mattered who got which of these guys. They were all going to fight regardless, and how they went about it was critical to their survival. Rico could only hope they got out of this alive, and suddenly, he was glad to have gone through the exhausting ordeal that was changing abilities. He was infinitely stronger and knew he could tank however much damage was needed if it meant getting out of there alive.
[note: the circle of hell being used is the seventh, violence]

Jericho eyed the intruders, uncertain how this would play out. Five against four gave them the advantage, but things were bound to get complicated without knowing what their enemies were capable of. He could make some guesses based on appearances, but there was no time to strategize.

All they could do now was fight.

They were so fucking disoriented. Their head was pounding, body trembling from whatever the hell they had just experienced. Worse, they had no time to recover before a massive explosion occurred in the central room, sending shockwaves through the air. Then, as if the chaos wasn't enough, portals appeared—dark, swirling voids that spat out an army of skeletons.

“What the hell, man..." Augie groaned, pressing a hand to their temple as if it could stop the relentless throbbing in their skull. “What a nuisance."

With a sigh, they rolled their shoulders, cracking their neck as they braced themself. Then, they willed themself to change.

It started as a twitch in their fingers but quickly became a sickening series of pops and snaps as their body changed. Bones stretched, splintered, and reformed, pushing through flesh as their hands morphed into long, razor-sharp claws. The skin along their arms and torso split open in jagged lines, peeling back before knitting itself together again—thicker, harder, unnatural. Their entire body convulsed, muscles twisting violently beneath the surface as their very structure reconfigured itself.

When it was over, Augie exhaled a slow, steady breath. Their pain, skillfully hidden from those around them, was replaced with something else—something far more useful. They looked at the other gangsters nearby before focusing on the skeletons, Augie's expression as bored as ever.

“Well, let's get this over with."

“Look for them later? Like hell it can wait. I don't give a fuck about this gang battle shit. Keep me the hell out of it! I just want to know she's safe."

The statement earned a slight turn of Robin's head and a look out of the corner of her eye. Her red eye locked onto Tak, and followed him as he walked away. Pausing only once to say something to Dante before running off.

She then sighed. "Honestly, it doesn't really matter if he cares about it or not, because he'll be hunted all the same. Be it by cop or rival ganger." she muttered. You can clean up as much as you like, but some things just don't go away because you want them to.

She looked to Dante afterwards. "She's about as safe as she could possibly be in a situation like this. Knowing how your... associate operates, I'm sure he's already found her and is protecting her much like you would. Not to mention... I've been teaching her a few things. You two aren't the only ones that care about her well-being."

Augie's sudden transformation caught her eye afterwards, forcing a grin to creep across her face as she witnessed it. "Extraordinary." she breathed, "I need to remind myself to ask about that later. I'm quite curious." She then redirected her attention back to their foes, just in time to notice one of the skeletons closing in on her.

"Well now, you're far too eager." she said aloud, lifting the pistol up and firing off a forty-five caliber shot. Perhaps smashing the skeleton's head will put it down? If not... dodge and improvise.

Eribelle had remained passive and silent as the meeting reached its explosive crescendo, taking in on every vapid, ego-driven word spoken by the leaders, but what else would you expect from bands of glorified barbarians?

Blessed with inhuman reaction times, the girl was able to asses her thoughts as the walls cracked with infernal fury. Her eyes darted from side to side, deciding on her next course of action, its utility tragically limited by her body quite literally being capable of properly catching up with her mind. Having made her decision, he chose to help out the most valuable person on the table: Lars Albrecht, tackling him down and hoping for their low position might help avoid the brunt of the impact, with her potential she could even divert one or two large pieces of debris coming their way.

Thanks to the dragon king's efforts, her own was for naught, as the majority of the oncoming impact was stopped within their vicinity. Did she regret her actions? Of course not, there was no guarantee Kanna's powers would've worked completely. To blindly trust people like that is nothing short of foolish, and she was living example of that.

"It is not safe here, Queen." She added drily, getting up on her feet, her hand reaching for sheath on her waist. "We need to secure an escape route." This time she spoke louder so that her fellow dragons would hear her. From a seemingly passive stance, she threw her knife to the side, the metal blade spinning rapidly in the air, until its trajectory changed perpendicularly, thrusting straight into one of the members of the approaching hoard, right in a softer spot between its protective metallic plates. "We do not know how many more are coming."

The Fourth Seal
Akira, like most of the Tigers, was complacent. No matter how many excuses or what verbal honey they dressed themselves in, the fact was they sat by and watched. Watched for over a decade, letting Alice make them profits at her expense. Would they have let it go on for another decade? Until she was a mature woman, trapped in fantasy?

It was this impression that Alice approached Akira with. Only, he answered without the sorry candor heard from others. He reminded of Elias; hiding behind excuses, but offering help with payback. It was disgusting. Disloyal. Smart. Akira claimed he was now in a position to help. How true was that? Alice had no way of knowing. He was as slippery as a damned snake.

Before their conversation could continue, an explosion rocketed Purgatory. Alice fell off her feet, meeting the cold hard ground. But instead of terror, panic, and dismay, she felt... tired. It was happening again. She forced herself to look at their attackers: three beastly HPs, itching for their blood. She didn't even know who they were; doubted they knew her either. Why was it always like this? People against people, killers against killers...

She frantically looked to where Akira was. He was gone.

Damned snake.

Alice didn't want any part of this. She knew she would have to; she learned to fight for a reason, and helped her only real friend against those who deserved it. At the same time, it was he who had her scrambling off her feet, scanning the chaos. "Charlie?!" she cried out, praying he was okay. "Charlie! Where are you?!" Alice ran. To where, she did not know. All she wanted was to know he was safe...
