Saburou

Team 13's Boat

"You've asked for the Ninjutsu techniques in play, though this is a Genjutsu in play instead, isn't it?"

Pausing for a moment, Saburou crouched from where he hung, placing him closer to those technically both above and below him due to hanging upside-down beneath their feet. Then, he smirked. "Interesting... I don't know if you defied all logic to come to such a conclusion, or if you just came to it because it was the only option left, but... It's still an interesting conclusion to reach, considering that your deal Uchiha Sensei didn't point it out as such despite possessing the "all-knowing" Sharingan..."

Placing his right hand on his left cheek, Saburou released a small amount of Chakra, causing the red sky to slowly blend into a more mellow purple. "Regardless, you've both earned my respect... One for courage, and one for well-met intuition, as half of this is indeed a form of Genjutsu..."

Slowly rotating upright, face-to-face with the Kunoichu who had just asked the question, Saburou gave both a reassuring and almost frightening smile. "You've asked the first question of many... Now, I'll go ahead and tell you the second one..."

"Unlike the Uchiha's question of why I'm doing this, the question that truly needed to be asked is why not do anything else..."

Standing up and walking past Kaori, toward the Uchiha, Saburou's grin disappeared from his face and he returned to absolute seriousness.

"Go ahead and ask me the question now, Machiro-San... Once you do, and once I tell you the answer, it'll all make sense... Though a little tip, you might want to step back a few paces before you do so," Saburou said as he took quick gaze at the thin white line that stretched across the nonexistent floor of the boat, residing directly underneath the Uchiha's feet.

"After all, you're standing right on the deadliest thing currently within this ocean..."

Team 13's Boat - ????

I.... I'm the cause of this... Why...? Why can't I just stay hidden from everything...? Why can't I just disappear and never cause problems like this for people...?

I should step out, but... No... If I step out now, things will just be worse for everyone... If I don't, though... If I don't, I'll either be forced out, or I'll remain unnoticed even by him... At the very least, nobody else can even start to imagine I'm here, let alone detect my presence... Perhaps if I take the form of a passenger, quickl- No... There's no possibility of that, he's walking toward my location... At least he can't see me... He can't sense me... I'm perfectly hidden as a non-Chakra being... Hidden in this woman's shadow...

(Foreshadowing at its finest! Character sheet to be released following the next post in which this character is involved, however for now the character remains completely unknown to any and will only be known at their revelation. Stay tuned for the great reveal of another character! Possibly, that is. Depends on if I stick with the reveal or decide to build it up more :x)

Matsuda

Matsuda exhaled deeply. She'd never been embarrassed like this, not in a very long time. Talk about being humbled...It was true. Matsuda really was stuck in a genjutsu. For once Matsuda was trapped...talk about a turn of events. Normally it was Matsuda who'd put users under a genjtsu...reluctantly she swallowed her pride.

"Why have you not attacked anyone but us? Why not just sink this ship and be done with it? By the time we've been wasting around you could have drowned us and everyone on this boat." Matsuda asked, doing her best to hide the grudge in her voice. Which, judging by her ability at acting, would probably be very successful.

Anxiously Matsuda waited for the next step. There was no telling what these people would do next, however. In anticipation for the worse-case scenario Matsuda began to focus herself, and put one of her hands behind her. If this didn't work she'd break her finger to try and get out of this. Real pain would be the only hope, unless someone else were to do her the favor.

~Santeru Ishumari~

Santeru watched the wall of flame rapidly approach him, his crimson eyes scanned rapidly over the expanding surface with each flick of his gaze his hands quickly and precisely performing the motions for his jutsu "Fire release: Flame whirldwind!" Flames escaped out the side of Santeru's mouth and seeped out around him into a frenzy engulfing the area around him torching the trees as it rapidly expanded into a sphere sucking in the molten flames that were setting upon him. Adding them to his own Santeru sent the wave of fire into the surrounding ANBU torching them in an instant as their screams echoed throughout the forest before quickly being cut off and replaced with Santreru's own laughter as their ashes and the trees blew away into the breeze. He now stared directly at Ishimaru exhaling the smoke from his last jutsu letting it curl around his head as it scattered in the atmosphere. He straightened his posture his smirk fading into a simple smug expression but his eyes burned with sinister satisfaction to his actions. His voice however was monotone carrying a soft baritone "May that help you with your escape. But I do ask for a favor." Santeru mused at the unfolding situation, his jet black hair swayed in the wind as it picked up speed. His chakra still burning violet but it was almost a soft glow and not the hellfire from moments ago "For me dispatching of those pests, and aiding in your escape. When I call on you, I expect you to make an appearance. Do keep this to yourself as well." It was almost jarring the personality change that had just unfolded in Santeru, his somewhat unhinged and sadistic attitude had taken a backseat to what appeared to be a professional and unsympathetic side of himself. He had changed gears simply by the drop of a hat, and this was his nature.

Gracia

When the swordsman threw up his blade, Gracia took a moment to gather her thoughts. Whatever similarity this man was talking about, Gracia had no clue what it would be. Whatever he said didn't matter. Getting through this battle was what mattered.

Gracia began to get into her battle ready stance, but before she was ready and balanced, his sword suddenly struck the ground. The swordsman suddenly charged her, pulling his blade out of the ground as he dashed. He was moving in with a downwards slash. She didn't notice the other genin flying towards the swordsman. Like a flash, her katana slid out of its scabbard, and moved above her to block the downwards strike. Chakra began flowing into the blade, but there wasn't enough time to make a difference. The two blades met, and Gracia was instantly overpowered. The swordsman's sword pushed hers down with powerful force. Instinctively, Gracia let go of her katana, and leapt backwards. Blood was heavily pouring from her right arm, and her left hand clenched it tightly. However, as Gracia was leaping backwards, she noticed the other genin looking as if she was about to punch the living hell out of the swordsman. Would he be able to dodge such an intense attack? Either way, it would give Gracia a moment to refocus herself. She could barely move her right arm without an intense jolt of pain rattling her. Damn.

Asura

Konoha, Forest Border

His blade cutting into Gracia's arm, Asura slammed the blade into the ground at the end of it in order to push himself up on it with his left arm. From there, he spun around, having taken notice of the young Kunoichi charging him with a fully-loaded fist.

"This fight... is not yours..."

Placing his metal hand out between him and the Ninja, a small drop of lava-like substance flew out of the glowing orange core within the palm, colliding with the hand of the Kunoichi and covering it. By the time it had made contact, however, it had cooled down enough to begin solidifying as it spread around the hand, becoming a super heavy steel gauntlet shaped to the entirety of the opponent's hand.

"Dark Release - Inhaling Maw"

Just as the steel had gone at the Kunoichi's hand, the Chakra present within the Ninja's fist was dragged out and into the core of the metal hand.

"Steel Release Kenjutsu Art - Numbing Steel Blade!"

Pulling the sword back out of the ground, Asura swung it right into the side of the metal gauntlet, causing the metal to vibrate at an almost ear-splitting pitch, essentially overloading the nerves within the hand and numbing it before the steel fell off, not a scratch on the hand of the Hyuga.

Landing face-to-face with the Kunoichi, Asura glared deep into their eyes with all five of his presently on him, being the two essentially blind eyes that were his original eyes, and three opened eyes on his cloak collar.

"I'll say it once again... This fight isn't yours... If you fight me here and now, I'll be forced to try and kill you so that your recklessness here doesn't endanger your fellow Kunoichi's life later down the road."

Finished speaking to the Hyuga, Asura swung his blade back to where Gracia's blade resided behind him, knocking it all the way to the side of the currently-injured Kunoichi.

"I'll give you one minute to tend to that wound before we resume our fight. I'll also do you a favor and not cause further harm to that arm of yours, as doing so would make this entire fight pointless... After all, this is to help you learn about yourself before someone takes something important away from you; like how my arm was taken from me before I knew enough about myself to prevent it."

Without wasting a moment, Gracia promptly reached I to one of the pouches on her thigh and retrieved a roll of sticky tape. Isn't wasn't medical tape, but it'd have to do. She bit on the end of a strip, and pulled of a long piece. With her good hand, she adeptly wrapped it around her wound, making sure it was tight. "What the hell do you want from me you freak?" Gracia asked, frustrated with the man's persistence. The other genin, seemed to be in a tight spot. However, he already said he wouldn't kill either of them, so as along as the other genin retreated, she could survive and find help. Hopefully.

It's was time for action, and this moment wasn't going to wait. With her right arm hurting so much, using any of her Earth Style Jutsu wasn't an option. Something with one hand would have to work. Gracia kicked her blade into the air, and then held up a handsign. In a puff of smoke, two clones appeared. Gracia and her clones all held her katana. Her clones each dashed to separate sides of Asura. Gracia sprinted straight forwards, her blade shining with blue chakra as she prepared to deliver a straight forward thrust to the swordsman. Her clones were each attempting a downwards slash at his head. Hopefully, this would buy the other genin enough time to find help. Gracia had to find out what this guy wanted her to show him. If she didn't, who knows what he'd do. Now wasn't the time to fail.

NATSUKI HYUUGA
"I'll say it once again... This fight isn't yours... If you fight me here and now, I'll be forced to try and kill you so that your recklessness here doesn't endanger your fellow Kunoichi's life later down the road."

"What a load of crap," replied Natsuki, her voice strangely calm despite the fight raging in front of her as she leaned against a tree trunk to inspect her hand. Whatever weird jutsu this guy had used was still affecting her, she found she couldn't move her fingers and when she massaged it with her other hand there was no feeling.

"If you're gonna kill me then kill me but don't act like you're some victim with no control over the situation, that pisses me off." Natsuki pulled off her glove, with a little difficulty as her fingers refused to cooperate and undid the wrappings around her hand as she continued talking.

"People who decide they're willing to fight, anyone who comes at them is their opponent, they don't get to pick and choose. People who aren't willing to fight don't get a say in what happens, they can stand there and take it or run away. That's how the world works,"

The genin's voice shook slightly as she spoke and she didn't look up from her task. As much as Natsuki was talking to Asura she was talking to herself, as if reminding herself of something important. With her working hand Natsuki arranged her bare hand into a fist and then began patiently re-wrapping it, locking the fingers in place as a fist.

"I decided a while back which one I'm going to be so as soon as I finish wrapping my hand I'm going to come over there and try and punch you. Decide for yourself what you're gonna do about that but don't place the blame at my feet."

The task of wrapping her hand was taking a lot longer then it should have, Natsuki's fingers felt clumsy and her limbs heavy and unresponsive. Was this because of all the chakra she'd used? How much had she used exactly? How long had she been fighting? She'd felt like this after heavy training or a tough fight but this was somehow different. Maybe it was the lack of cuts and bruises or aching muscles, her body wasn't injured or worn out she was just somehow tired. It was like she hadn't earned the tiredness she was feeling, for all the energy she had expended she hadn't actually accomplished much.

The thought of fighting this guy in the kind of state she was in was terrifying. She hadn't even managed to land a hit on him when she was in good shape so truthfully she had no idea how to fight him now. But running away was scarier. Going back to being a ghost that people looked right through? That couldn't touch anyone or do anything except scavenge for scraps and exist. That dull, aching emptiness was scarier then fighting this impossible guy. After tasting what it felt like to have people actually be aware of her existence and care about what she could do she'd rather die then go back.

At least if she died they'd have to acknowledge her corpse, if only to bury it.

Asura

Konoha, Forest Border

"You say that only those who choose to fight have a say, but... Right now, the only one fighting right now is your fellow Kunoichi. This isn't the kind of fight you think this is..."

As the clones from Gracia came down at him, Asura raised his metal right arm.

"As for me being with no control over the situation... I really don't. I only have control over one thing, and that's whether or not others have choices... After all, I already made my choice not to fight... Instead, I'm teaching this one how to not make the same choice as me."

With the ending of his words, Asura took all three strikes; the two from the clones, and the one from Gracia; but they went nowhere. Simply, the blades were all stopped at contact with his body, which had turned a dark silvery color.

"This is the choice I made," Asura said as he lifted his left hand to grab his right arm, his sword having been dropped straight into the ground. "It cost me two things important to me. I'm not fighting a battle right now, like you think; I'm teaching this Kunoichi here not to make the same choices as I've made." Pulling his arm straight off, Asura threw the metal arm to the ground.

"It cost me my arm, as well as..."

Closing his two natural eyes, Asura finished his sentence.

"...my eyes."

The metal arm floating up and returning to its rightful place, Asura knelt down and picked up his sword, keeping his natural eyes closed. The eyes on his cloak, however, blinked once all in unison.

"Now as I've said before, I'm not here to kill anyone. I'm here to help this Kunoichi learn more about herself, so she doesn't make the mistake of choosing what I've chosen. This isn't a fight, rather me teaching you how to understand yourself."

Throwing his sword all the way to a tree across the way, the sword sunk in and stopped just before going all the way through it. On the back of the hilt, facing toward them all, resided a currently-closed eye that had vanished from his cloak a little bit earlier.

"The person who I let go earlier, by the way... I'm in no way affiliated with them... The only reason I let them run off was because I haven't the strength to fight them alone..."

"You, however... You still have yet to make the choice that will determine if you're strong enough or not... So make it soon, sword-wielding Kunoichi.... Discover it with your heart, and your soul, if you can."

Gracia

The clones disappeared, and Gracia once again leaped backwards after a failed attack. The man had been speaking to the other genin all the while too, mentioning that he was teaching something. It didn't matter. Gracia began to concentrate her chakra again, but stopped when the swordsman threw his metal arm to the ground. "This is the choice I made," he said. Gracia didn't understand. Her adrenaline was dropping, and her fatigue began to set in. All the prior blood loss must have been getting to her. He said something else, and mentioned his eyes. On the swordsman's cloak, several eyes that had been closed all this time blinked all at once. Gracia gripped her blade tightly and took a few steps back. Her ninja teachers hadn't taught her about anything this swordsman had done so far. None of it made sense. But, at the very least he wasn't going to kill her.

Whatever he wanted Gracia to discover was unknown to the girl, but she decided to try anyway. However, Gracia did far more than simply, 'try'. "I don't have any idea what you want me to discover, but I'm pretty sure that I won't make whatever choices you made," Gracia stated, slowly closing her eyes. Bringing both hands onto the handle of her katana, Gracia began to concentrate as much chakra as she could into the blade. He had wanted to fight her because she was using a blade right? Then maybe this unknown power had something to do with it. As her chakra flowed into the katana, Gracia could barely think, her body working on its own. The katana didn't glow with chakra this time, rather, it appeared nothing was happening. Gracia's eyes were shut tight, and she grunted, obviously straining herself. Suddenly, from the katana blade itself, spikes jutted out randomly on the blade. Each spike was nearly a foot long. The spiky katana clattered to the ground, and Gracia fell backwards. She hit the ground hard, but managed to slightly retain consciousness. She couldn't see the results of her efforts. All she knew was that she used up all of her chakra, and her blood wasn't coming back any time soon. Seems like this jerk wasn't going to get what he wanted. That almost made her grin.

It had been roughly a full three days of travel. Quickly after it had been reported the Raikage yet again went on another one of his usual walkabouts, Santeru was well-known for being fond of his strolls that arrangements had to be made in order to assure that 'Lord Raikage' would return to Kumogakure again before inevitable disaster befell upon the village. These 'arrangements' were the 'Recovery Squad' - a group of ANBU that had been handpicked to be assured of the Raikage's return no matter the situation. Of course, the only limit to this would be time, time was always against everyone's side during times like these and it was no different for "Apep", who was forced to pursue Santeru alone as 'reassurance' the job was seen through - the other two members of Apep's squad being on their own search for the Raikage. The leader of the recovery squad had taken a short moment to rest near the outskirts of the forest - knowing all too well he needed short moments rest, after all as fast as Apep's information may have come in about the Raikage's location, Santeru was often on the move, and it took time to relocate him again. So for just a moment, Apep sat against a tree trunk staring up into the rays of light produced by the sun.

'It is peaceful here...The terrain and weather here is much different from the mountainscape and thunderstorms of home.'

'Now I see why the residents of Konohagakure are so full of dreams'

Apep's thoughts were disturbed by what sounded like an explosion and as if all thoughts of bliss and peace the land had to offer were diminished for a mere moment. The sight of what was easily described as a 'fire tornado' in the distance, which could only mean that Santeru was close and there was no time to lose. Apep sat back up and mused for a moment over the magnificent sight. using Body Flicker Technique to appear a few feet behind Santeru as if teleporting in from nowhere. The Shinobi stood with a rather flamboyant posture and a royal aura resonating the Apep's figure.

"Lord Raikage...I have arrived for you, I trust that you didn't purposely take this long but if you don't return before the week is over Kumogakure may be put in a self-destructive situation."

Taking a look around the area, it was only just now Apep also noticed that the other two members of the Recovery Squad weren't present but once acknowledging the fact Apep didn't find it necessary to take the notion further. Especially when a complete stranger who Apep could tell was quite the powerful individual stood before them. Casting his glance towards the figure - it would be hard to tell what Apep was exactly thinking; as any sense of emotion was disguised by the clothing and suppressed chakra. However, because of how the situation seemed to add up Santeru was yet to have any qualms with this stranger so instead of making any hasty actions - Apep remained silent, instead choosing to first listen to whatever the Raikage had to tell. If there were to be a fight, Apep knew that Santeru would let him know for it.

'I almost can't help myself~ If only the war hadn't ended when it did...'

NATSUKI HYUUGA
Natsuki glanced over as the other genin fell over. Her eyes took in the deformed katana and flicked back to the man, with his silvery, metal body and immediately made the connection.

"I'm guessing that's what you wanted to 'teach' her?" she asked tiredly as her shoulders started to slump. Natsuki pushed herself off from the tree and made her way over to the genin's fallen form. "I'd say mission accomplished, you can get lost then. Cause I meant what I said I am still going to punch you if you hang around,"

Natsuki squatted down by Gracia, checked her over for injuries and a pulse, finding plenty of both. "It's more convenient for me if you just leave though, so I can take her to... well probably not the hospital I guess. Couple things though. One: Quit with the 'kunoichi' shit or I'm gonna punch you anyway, a ninja's a ninja. Two: I wanna hear you're name, because all you do is spout annoying riddles and when I'm strong enough I'm gonna find you and prove what I was saying is true."

Dimly Natsuki was aware that she should probably be having a stronger reaction to what she had witnessed. Her clan instructor had told her about kekkei genkai's unique abilities handed down through bloodlines, that was what the Hyuuga had, well most of them at least, and that was apparently what this man and now this genin both had, through some kind of cosmic coincidence. On top of that she had fought some crazy strong, freaking terrorist or something, a hospital had been blown up. Natsuki just felt numb and she wanted nothing more than to curl up and fall asleep right there on the grass.

Instead she prodded Gracia gently in the cheek. "Hey," she said, poking again. "You still awake down there? I really don't wanna have to carry your ass back, this day's been long enough as it is."

Akarsh Benihime

The Benihime compound and clan was in a panic because of the trouble going on Inside of the village. Akarsh’s grandfather quickly began to mobilize medical ninja to go lend their assistance inside the village. On top of that, the future leader of the clan seemed to have disappeared yet again. Either, the clan had to worry about the wellbeing of the village first.

Akarsh on the other hand was moving through the forest of Kohana border. He was looking for some ingredients to a new type of poison he was working on. Akarsh had yet to hear about the trouble in the village. While traveling through the tree, he saw what appeared to be an Anbu moving away from the village. How very strange. Akarsh felt uneasy seeing the Anbu so he began to make his way back towards the village.

That’s when Akarsh spotted a group of three. Two seemed to be from the hidden leaf, but the third was unidentified for now. Akarsh figure he should check on the situation and make sure everything was ok. Either way, akarsh wanted to make sure that he got all the information before anyone walked away. Akarsh drop in on the group and spoke in a very blasé tone. “Hey, what's going on here? Is everything ok?”

Kita

As her squad mates around her got into action, Kita's heart began to pump faster. This is what it was like. The thrill of a crisis. Her fingers numbed, and a sinking feeling began in her chest. All she could hear at the moment was her heart pumping, beat by beat like a machine. With each beat she focused in more on the building ahead. The smoke couldn't suppress her Byakugon, nor could the flames. Her veins bulged more around her eyes as she took a deep look into the building.

"Okay....The library. The two main entrances, located at the front and back of the building are all blocked off by fire. It's pretty big...but from the looks of it there aren't that many people in there. We could enter in through the windows and start our searc...."

Kita paused as a two chakra signatures stole her attention away from the rest of the Library.

"There are two Chakra signatures...One of roughly Jonin level and the other a little higher....Right smack dab in the middle of the Library. The flames seem to be growing more intense around them. One's not moving while the other is...."

She turned back to her sister and the rest of her squadmates. "I think one of the is Atsushi. From what the mission report describes it seems to match his Chakra levels...."

"Now we have two options to get into the Library from what I'm seeing. Either we try sneaking in through an alternate entrance such as a window or perhaps the basement where the fire hasn't spread. That or we can just blast our way in as the walls seem to have been weakened by the fire..."

Inside the Library....

Atsushi's body lay limp as the smoke from the fire surrounded him. Sneak attacked in the least likely of places...it had been far too long since he'd had a proper apponent and now he was paying for it. Meanwhile a mysterious masked individual crouched over his corpse, searching his pockets. He wore a black combat trench coat, and a plain white ANBU mask. On the back of his mask was a sword. And notably his hair was of a bushy grey spiked variety....

He flipped over Atsushi's body, and began doing hand seals. Resting both of Atsushi's hands together he sealed both of them together with a special binding technique.

Ishimaru

"What?"

Even the always eccentric Ishimaru was perplexed by what the Raikage had said. Let him go? For just a favor? Well, between that decision and the latter that was a pretty easy decision. While Ishimaru was confident he could take this Kage, it was not apart of the plan. Plus, he was much more scared of the man he was working for rather than this coot.

Almost instantly Ishimaru's grin turned even more cocky as he gave Santeru a perplexed look, along with the strange soldier behind him.

"Alright...deal. Now, I must get moving..."

Testing his luck, Ishimaru quickly hopped off to the next few trees, and eventually out of sight.

"I don't know if you defied all logic to come to such a conclusion, or if you just came to it because it was the only option left..."

Kaori heart sunk as she heard those words exit Saburou's mouth. Moving her lips to a frown, she continued to listen to what the man had to say. Saburou continued by stating they had a second question to give, and Hachiro was to be the person to deliver it. Kaori turned to her comrade with an expression of uncertainty - unsure if he will plummet the four to certain death as Kaori nearly had.

Her head slowly turned towards her sensei as well, and she began to speak to Saburou. Her sensei's reasoning was correct - as Kaori would have expected. Hearing her question, Kaori began to wonder as well: why hadn't he killed us yet? She understood the likely answer to this question was likely that he was one of those individuals who enjoyed playing with their pray, yet the question continued to linger.

"I wanna hear you're name, because all you do is spout annoying riddles and when I'm strong enough I'm gonna find you and prove what I was saying is true."

. . .

Reaching into his cloak with his left hand, Asura pulled out a roll of bandaging.

"The name's Asura," Asura said as he tossed the roll of bandages over to them.

"You misunderstand my intentions... That woman that you faced is likely far stronger than I am. I'm not an enemy of yours; I'm likely the closest thing to an ally you'll ever meet out in the world with how it currently is."

Raising his hand out toward where his sword sat, Asura called the blade back to his hand. "What your fellow Ninja here has done to her blade is a part of the many things she needs to learn about herself."

Walking over to the blade, Asura knelt down and placed his metal hand on it, shaping the sword back to what it originally was. "I understand I seem like an enemy to you, but I assure you, I'm only an enemy of those who make themselves an enemy of me. That woman is one of the people who have done so, just in a far different way than others."

"Remember the pain of that wound. There's far worse pain out there if you can't protect yourself from it."

Then, as Asura turned around to leave, another individual dropped in, asking what was happening. Turning his head to speak, Asura responded. "I'm just leaving right now. I taught the two of them a valuable lesson today, and I hope to have them return to me later on for guidance, though for now I suppose I've given enough instruction."

"I'll be in Iwagakure if either of you are in need of me for any reason, though for now, it is goodbye."

With that, Asura leaped into the forest and vanished, leaving behind nothing but an eye hidden closed on the side of Gracia's blade, no Chakra left within it to detect.

"The reason why I've delayed this... The reason why I haven't outright attempted to bring harm to any of you... Harming you is not of my intention... There's another individual here I seek."

Snapping his fingers, a bright flame burst out from the white line that went from side to side of the boat. The flames that spread out along the boat burned the boat back into sight, consuming the entire boat for a moment before vanishing at the edges. All those who had been drowned reappeared, unconscious, where they last had stood.

"There you are..." Saburou said as he stared down a figure still hidden by the flames that rested along that white line of bandaging that went around the entire center of the boat, slowly crushing and burning the boat in half.

"Such a problematic girl... I suggest everyone back away from her as quick as possible, because she's very difficult to deal with if you don't," Himari said as she suddenly became visible at Saburou's left side, alongside the trail of bandaging that attached from her hand to the line of bandaging burning the boat in half.

Team 13's Boat

"How...?" She questioned quietly to herself. "How does he always find me...?"

Still mostly hidden by the flames, the somewhat shadowy girl turned around quickly, leaping quickly to the side of, and then behind Matsuda, placing one hand on Matsuda's back and the other on Matsuda's shoulder. Quickly, she moved her fourth finger to lightly touch Matsuda on the cheek, holding it there briefly.

"Sorry," she whispered to Matsuda in a shy tone as she dropped a smoke bomb that completely clouded the area around the two of them.

In just seconds, shadows crept up and swallowed the shadowy girl's form, dispersing to leave her as a perfect replica of one Matsuda Uchiha, as detailed as to have the same exact Chakra as Matsuda when viewed even by Sharingan and Byakugan eyes.

"I'm really sorry, but please go along with what I'm doing..."

Pulling out a small metal needle, one thinner than a fingernail, the girl poked it into the back of Matsuda's shoulder through her cloak, barely going in but drawing Chakra out. Following which, she poked her own finger on the needle, letting the Chakra enter her own body before she pulled the needle out of Matsuda and tossed it into the deck of the boat, on Matsuda's shadow.

With the needle having been stuck into Matsuda's shadow, and her in Matsuda's shadow at that moment as well, the technique was complete and she now possessed usage of every technique Matsuda possessed, even Matsuda's Sharingan. Completed, she took position at Matsuda's side as well as returned the needle to her possession.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu," She said in Matsuda's voice, though made no clone whatsoever. Instead, she acted as though she were a clone made by Matsuda, and that the real her had hid in the shadow of one of the two, or perhaps even in someone else's shadow.

Making a clone of her original self that hid behind both herself and Matsuda, pretending Matsuda had made a clone and that she were said clone.

NATSUKI HYUUGA
"The name's Asura," Asura said as he tossed the roll of bandages over to them.

"You misunderstand my intentions... That woman that you faced is likely far stronger than I am. I'm not an enemy of yours; I'm likely the closest thing to an ally you'll ever meet out in the world with how it currently is."

Asura...

Natsuki watched warily as he fixed Gracia's sword and left, committing the name and the man behind it to memory. She had no idea what his deal was, she sure as hell wasn't going to take him on his word that he wasn't an enemy. Not just yet anyway. But Asura would have to be a long term problem, in the short term Natsuki had other issues to focus on. For one the other genin was still sprawled out on the grass and while she was breathing fine hadn't really responded to Natsuki's attempts to wake her up. And now there was someone else to deal with.

“Hey, what's going on here? Is everything ok?”

Natsuki gave a short, barking laugh, she couldn't help out, after everything that had happened in the last few hours those were tricky questions to answer.

"You know the village has been attacked right? We bumped into these people fleeing the village, they attacked when we got close so I assume they had something to do with it. We got into a fight with them and then that guy turned up and-"

Natsuki shook her head, her mouth twisting with irritation. She was still trying to figure out for herself what had happened and she really couldn't be bothered trying to explain it to this dude. Who was he anyway? Another genin judging by his age but Natsuki didn't recognize him, and she was reasonably confident if she had seen him before then she would recognize him. Between the dark skin and the bright white hair the kid was pretty distinctive.

"I dunno, can you carry her?" Natsuki said abruptly, gesturing down to Gracia. "She probably needs medical attention and I'm tired as hell," As she spoke Natsuki got to her feet, wobbling a little on the way up. "We should... report to someone I guess, I don't really no how this works."

Akarsh stood by as an unknown man began to speak strange comments that he didn’t understand very well. Then left not before telling them the location he would be at. What a strange man. Maybe I should of avoid this group, they seem to be a hassle. Then a girl began laughing and that took over Akarsh’s attention. Wow, these are some strange ninja and people in general. I wonder if they are insane? Or maybe just aren’t very bright? Either way they are from the hidden leaf so matter how annoying this is I have to try and help them. Akarsh listened to the girl explain the situation but couldn’t help but hear the frustration in her voice. Looking at the two with focused eyes, Akarsh nod his head. “We are not far from my clan’s compound. They can offer her medical attention and then we can report to the upper member of my clan and they can relay the information on to the proper people.” He let out a sigh, “I'm sure grandpa is going to be so upset I'm not at the compound since the village is under attack. Now on top of that I have to deal with situation.” Akarsh had a grim look on his face” all I wanted to do was find a toxic mushroom and maybe take a nap in the trees.” He picked up Gracia and put her on his back, adjusting her so she wouldn’t follow off. “Alright ill try to go slow so you can follow me. Let me know if you need to stop and rest.” With that Akarsh jumped up into the tree line and made his way toward his clan’s compound. He was still unsure of what was going on but in their current state they need medical attention before they can properly explain what happened. He yelled back at the girl following him. “By the way my name is Akarsh Benihime.” with that they soon made to the Benihime's clan compound. it seemed to be pretty empty, most likely due to the attack on the village. carrying the girl inside, Akarsh search around for someone to help. "i think all the more advanced healer are helping the village but most of the younger healers should be able to deal with her injuries fairly well." with that Akarsh led the group to a smaller building, where kids 13-18 were studying and practice medical skills. Akarsh addressed everyone in a very gloomy tone "Hey, i need you guys to make sure this girl doesn't die." he then place her on a mat and a group of 6 people began working on healing her. he walk outside the room and waited outside. it's such a nice day. it would be prefect to take a quick nap and soak up the sun.

Matsuda

The startled Matsuda looked back at her replication through the smoke. It was a perfect copy. Virtually identical to her in everyway. So this is who they were looking for.... Matsuda thought to herself. She wondered just who this person was, and what they wanted with him...or her. One thing was for sure though, this person was not an enemy. At least not at the moment.

A smug grin grew across Matsuda's face. Yes, she would play along with this individual.

"Shadow clone Jutsu!" the other Matsuda rang out.

"Kai technique." Matsuda whispered softly, under the cover of the commotion around her to her 'clone'.

Matsuda???

Matsuda gripped the sword she held tighter. Her red eyes loomed toward

"I don't know who you're looking for. But I do know that if you do not drop this genjutsu and free this boat I will take action. That's a guarantee."

At the same time, both Matsudas held up one of their fingers into a handsign. Both had focused into a kai technique, a genjutsu breaker essentially. Both of the Matsuda's were going to create a large surge of chakra to try and break the genjutsu surrounding them.

NATSUKI HYUUGA

Natsuki followed along behind Arkash at a slower pace. It wasn't the first time she'd walked back to whatever passed for home bruised and tired.

Benihime, that sounds vaguely familiar Natsuki had definitely heard the clan's name in passing but other then that it meant nothing to her except that is wasn't one of the bigger clans. She also wasn't sure about the tone this kid used to say "deal with this situation" like it was their fault they'd run into a pack of crazy strong weirdos.

The Benihime clan compound was pretty much what Natsuki had expected, not too different from the Hyuuga one which meant she didn't like it much. These compounds were walled off, isolated and yet crowded with too many judging eyes. Natsuki managed to keep herself from scowling back at the wary gazes of the compound's inhabitants but it was a conscious effort. Consequently Natsuki didn't say much as she followed Arkash into the compound and then the room where Gracia was being healed, sitting herself down with her back against the wall and her knees up against her chest.

"She's mostly just worn out, used a lot of chakra but I don't think she took any major hits," Natsuki opined from the wall, looking pretty worn out herself. Now that the adrenaline had worn off she could feel the aches in her limbs more keenly and her eyelids were heavy. As soon as she was sure these people weren't gonna do anything weird to the samurai girl then she'd head back to the village and find someone to report to. Really she should have just gone straight back but now that she was sitting down standing up was pretty unappealing.

I'm just gonna... take five minutes Natsuki thought, resting her forehead against her knee and closing her eyes.

~Santeru Ishumari~
Santeru allowed a hearty chuckle to escape his lips as Ishimaru accepted his deal without even asking the terms. He truly loved it when people charged head first into something, it was both endearing to him and beneficial. He shook his head slightly side to side "No one ever asks on the conditions.". Calming down from his little episode the fire in his eyes returned and he was once again back to normal. He turned his head slightly as to acknowledge the presence of Apep his loyal guard "Afternoon Apep, no need to rush me back. If you can't tell I've been busy and I was sure you could handle Kumo on your own." Santeru said with somewhat of a soft smile, he was growing steadily tired as the adrenaline slowly faded "But you're right, I do believe we should be on our way." Santeru left out the bit where he just torched multiple Konoha ANBU, he felt it best this was an overlooked detail, though the smell of ash was prevalent in the air. Nodding his head, Santeru's after image took his place and he was gone in a flash hopping from tree to tree, he had one final errand to run before returning to the land of lightning and that was finding his wife.

Arkash was sure that Natsuki had no idea who he was or anything about his clan and honestly, he did blame her. His clan wasn’t famous or even that big. In his eyes, his clan had lost their spark ever since they became complacent in the hidden leaf. His clan still felt like outside within the hidden leaf, but also felt distant from their history. Overall arkash felt like being the next leader of this clan was a burden and he wasn’t very pleased about that. “Either way I should really try to be productive. Chances are, those girls are a very important to finding out what happen in the hidden leaf.”

While he was wrapped up in his own thoughts, a young female member of his clan came out to inform him of the situation. “Young master, it seems as if the first girl well recovers just fine. No major damage or bodily harm. She requires rest and chakra treatment, but overall, she should recover soon. The second girl seemed to be resting as well. She is also suffering from minor damage, but mainly fatigued.”

Arkash looked at the girl with bored and gloomy eyes. Well, that's annoying. I actually have to pretend like I care about all this medical stuff and I have to act like I am in charge. “Ummmmmm….. Cool.” Arkash comment seemed too relaxed for the situation and very out of place. Communication has never been something he was good at and especially when it came with those close to his age. “Also, can you not call me young master.” With that Arkash walked into the room and pick Natsuki up. “I will take over the rest of her treatment, please bring the other girl to the main house when you are finished.” Arkash then brought Natsuki to his family’s living quarter. “All I wanted to do was find some deadly mushrooms and flowers, but I end up with two beaten up girls. Anyway girl! Hurry up and wake up! You're wasting time and forcing me to socialize with others.” AtlannianSpy AtlannianSpy InsaneAsylum InsaneAsylum

Gracia

Slowly opening her eyes, Gracia stared at the ceiling from the floor. She must have fallen asleep when that boy started carrying her. Where did he take her?

Gracia turned her head to the side, and then to the other. Seeing that the room she was in was now empty, she slowly sat up, propping herself up with her elbows. Her right arm didn't hurt anymore, and she was no longer bleeding. They must have done well taking care of her, because all that was left was minor soreness.

Gracia began to recall the events that had gotten her injured in the first place. The village being attacked, then the red-haired man, the pale woman, and then... the mysterious man with the sword. Frantically, Gracia looked around the room for her swords. Her wakizashi lay in it scabbard on the ground next to her, however, her katana was nowhere to be seen. That boy must not have grabbed it when he brought her here. Did the other girl manage to get to safety as well?

Gracia grabbed her wakizashi and began to rise to her feet. She was tired, and all she wanted to do was sleep. However, she had to retrieve her katana. She had to see what happened. After standing up straight, Gracia groaned, and headed to the door. She slid it open, and found that she had no idea where she was going. "Where does the heroine find themselves today..." Gracia muttered, as she headed to her right, hoping to find the exit. There were a few individuals out and about, and they looked surprised to see her.

Anyway girl! Hurry up and wake up! You're wasting time and forcing me to socialize with others.”

"Nngh..." Natsuki's eyes fluttered and suddenly she was ware of the sensation of moving under somebody else's power. Her eyes widened fully and instinctively her elbow shot up, lashing out at Arkash's throat.

"G- Get off me!" She snapped, jerking herself out of Arkash's grip and planting her feet on the ground. "She's the one who's injured! I just wanted to sit down for five minutes and you go carting me around places!" What was this guy's problem anyway? If he didn't want to make himself useful he should have stayed out of it, Natsuki could do without the attitude. In fact Natsuki had half a mind to knock some respect into him, beaten up or not she was pretty sure she could take him.

"Listen nobody's forcing you to do anything," Natsuki said, glaring, "If you don't want to waste time then find somebody who's supposed to be in charge so I can tell them what happened. Then you can go back to picking your stupid plants or whatever. Otherwise just get out of my way and I'll find someone usefu-"

She slid it open, and found that she had no idea where she was going. "Where does the heroine find themselves today..." Gracia muttered, as she headed to her right, hoping to find the exit. There were a few individuals out and about, and they looked surprised to see her.

Not really what I had in mind... Natsuki thought, cutting ooff her conversation with Arkash to jog after the other girl.

"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" Natsuki asked, catching her by the back of her collar. "I bet I'm gonna be the one who has to hear about it if you collapse somewhere."

Arkash looked at the girl like she was stupid and had no idea what was going on. This girl isn’t really that dumb, right? I mean she has to know that she wouldn’t make it back to the village without passing out. Then they would take her to the hospital treated and that would just make relaying the information harder and longer. “Don’t be stupid. You are not physically injured but your body is drained. I was just taking you to the families sleeping quarters so you don’t take up space in the med wing.” The fact is she would be a waste of a mat in the area since she wasn’t physically injured. Either way it was arkash responsibly to make sure the clan ran smoothly and that this information is given to the right people. Then he notices the other girl out of bed.

Arkash jog up to the two girls and now confirmed in his head that they weren’t very smart. “Looks like she is up and walking around, that's good I guess.” Pointing out the obvious and seemed puzzled as to why she was moving around. “She is not going to make it outside these walls before passing out if she doesn’t get some more rest. As for the information, I am willing to help deliver it.” Arkash wasn’t even bothering to restrain the girl or get her back in bed. “I just need to grab a few things and send a messenger hawk to the village to let them know about what’s going on. Oh, and make sure she gets back in bed, or at least waits for me to carry her.” Arkash quickly went to gather his supplies and send the messenger hawk out to the cipher core. He didn’t really feel like doing this but it was his duty so he has no choice. AtlannianSpy AtlannianSpy InsaneAsylum InsaneAsylum

| KAORI UEDA |
With a snap of Saburou's fingers, a flame shot around the boat, causing Kaori to flinch. The man had said he is indeed delaying their demise, though the young genin still somewhat believed the flames were coming for herself. Given time, the flames stopped racing and the others who had supposedly drowned had reappeared unconscious.

Is this the first step to reversing the genjutsu?
Kaori questioned in her mind. Despite what Saburou had said earlier, perhaps he had suddenly acquired a change of heart - letting them all roam free, no matter how unlikely that may be.

In the midst of these thoughts another girl appeared. While not as intimidating as Saburou himself, she was scary in her own right. Covered in bandages Kaori wondered what sort of disfigurement lied beneath it, or if they were just for cosmetic purposes.

The situation began to escalate from there. Within a few seconds, Kaori heard the sudden poof of a smoke bomb go off from Matsuda's location. Her head shooting towards her sensei, Kaori assumed the worse. "Matsuda-sensei, are you ok?!" Kaori called out to her. As the smoke began to clear however, the girl realized the bomb was part of her plan.

A shadow clone of Matsuda and Matsuda herself emerged from the smoke, both performing the sign of the kai technique. Kaori gazed towards the two in astonishment. She's going to break us out, Kaori thought happily. Though she couldn't do much herself, the genin simply silently cheered Matsuda on.
