When Shunsui saw a strange looking man float over to him, he kept his head held high, showing no fear of the man before him. This guy is in charge of this whole situation? Please, he looks like he could use a nice punch to the- But when he felt as though he was falling, Shunsui looked down and took a step back to make sure he was completely grounded and secure. After taking a hard swallow, he listened to the man's options. Hundreds of different scenarios were playing out in his head and yet, he could become more powerful which was always a good thing, but he would never kill one of his teammates. So only one option appealed to the young genin...

"I guess I could pick the second option, Mr. Black and Red Eyes. But you see the thing is, the person I pick might not be a fun choice.... For you."

And with the last word spoken, Shunsui let loose a fast and fiery fist headed straight for Saburou's stomach, with enough power that would shatter a large boulder. He was dumping a large amount of chakra into his punch, realizing that this one chance may be his only one. Shunsui began letting his radiation become much more powerful, hopefully making some innocents back away from the area he was occupying, making the possibility of multiple casualties shrink. His entire body began to glow a bright orange and he started steaming from the water droplets in the air burning up and evaporating. He was ready to go down fighting for his team, and hopefully, Matsuda could figure out who this man was and what he wanted.

The Village Hidden in the Clouds

The Raikage's messenger once again, approached the group. He still did not look happy about being brought to them in the commotion of the crowd

"It...'burdens' me to tell you all this....but the Raikage requires an audience with you Kurai. Important matters. You'd might be motivated to go elsewhere, but I can assure you this meeting is more important."

"As for the rest of you."

He looked at Kurai's students.

"The chunin must take over the mission. I really don't care otherwise. By the way, the Library is just up the road..."

All was silent as the instructor and the messenger jumped off. Their business unknown to the students.

There was suddenly a large bang in the distance. Its origin at first, was unknown. Flames then burst out of the library windows. The knowledge it once held was now kindling for a large fire. Inside, supposedly, was the potential future Hokage.

Kita

"What the?"

Kita looked ahead at the smoke emerging from the library. It was a bright flame, almost looked like it could have been man-made. But books that old stored in a place like that had to be the perfect kindling....

She gasped. Atsushi could be in there. For a moment, at least, she put aside the fact that her sister was know the group leader. This was the first time she'd been in a situation like this, and she wasn't about to let her family name down. If anyone could find if Atsushi was in there, it was her. With just a second of focus she activated her Byakugon. Veins bulged on both sides of her head, and the world around her became much more clear. Inside the library there were two very large chakra signatures. Who they belonged to, she could not make out. But one of them at least fit the bill of Atsushi.

"I see two large Chakra signatures, both could be who we're looking for."

The Boat

Matsuda

Before Shunsui could lunge out for his attack, Matsuda grabbed him by the back of the neck, and threw him back against the deck behind her. She'd tell him the part that betraying her team was punishable by death later. For now she had other things to handle.

"Enough of your antics Shunsui. I'm handling this. That's an order."

Matsuda's head turned to her opponents, if she could call them that. Shunsui was a brickhead, and she seriously doubted his answer.

"I find it extremely unlikely that you overcame my Sharingan."

She couldn't rationalize any other answer. There was absolutely no way that these shinobi could have over came it...could they? She needed answers, and now.

"Who are you and what do you want?"

Gracia

Leaving the village alone wasn't a rare thing for Gracia to do. She had the day off today, but had no intention to spend it idling around. With her two weapons and ninja gear in tow, Gracia headed to her favorite spot in the woods.

The wooded area outside of the village was a great place to practice chakra control. One of the lessons her ninja sensei taught her was to walk up the side of a tree by concentrating chakra in her feet. The first time hey practiced this, Gracia could only get a meter or two up the tree at once. It didn't make sense. Concentrating chakra in her feet didn't seem possible, but sensei demonstrating that it was in fact possible by calmly walking up the entire tree. Gracia laid her blades down in the grass. Turning to a tall thick tree, she took a deep breath. Then, with great intention, Gracia sprinted towards the tree. Her feet planted themselves against the trunk, and Gracia focused on her feet, trying to concentrate chakra into them. It didn't work. Gracia made about three steps before gravity took over and sent her plummeting down to the ground.

"How the hell do ninja do this stuff!" Gracia screamed. She grabbed a kunai from its pouch, and held it tightly. The blue glow of concentrated chakra surrounded the blade. He chakra quickly grew into the shape of a katana. Gracia proceeded to swing the blade though the tree, cutting through cleanly. The tree fell away from her, landing with a loud crash into the lower plantlike. Gracia took deep breaths, calming herself down. The chakra shrunk until it dimly covered the shuriken. Gracia started intently at the ninja tool in her hand, suddenly coming to a realization. The way she sent chakra into her weapons was the same way she had to concentrate chakra in her body! "Of course! I'm an idiot!" Gracia scolded herself, before stabbing the kunai down into the new tree stump. Turning to a neighboring tree, Gracia took off sprinting again. As soon as her feet touched the tree, she concentrated the chakra into her feet as if it was a weapon. Chakra blazed beneath her feet, and she kept going up and up the tree. Gracia grabbed onto a branch just as she lost concentration, her feet slipping off the tree. She pulled herself onto the branch, and looked down at the ground far below. "I did it!" Gracia gasped, smiling widely. Her happiness quickly faded when she heard an explosion in the distance.

Gracia hadn't run so fast for so long for quite awhile, and was gasping for breath when she reached the village. Another explosion had already gone off since she kept off the tree, and smoke was rising from various places in the village. A few jonin were at the main entrance, ready for battle. When they saw Gracia running in, they said nothing. The streets were packed with panicking and scared people. Gracia wouldn't be able to get through all of them. She took a sharp left, and ran up the side of a building near the entrance. She pulled herself onto the rooftops and gazed at the village. It was chaos. Gracia would have tried to help with the wounded if she hadn't spotted a suspicious looking individual hopping along the rooftops right towards her. Just as she began to grab a kunai, the automated recording started over again, leaving Gracia in stunned silence. She took a moment to regain her composure as she held the kunai tightly, ready to stop whoever this man was. From the sound of things, someone was responsible for each of the explosions. And Gracia might just be standing between them, and their escape. It was time to shine.

Natsuki Hyuuga

Natsuki had been working out when the explosion and subsequent announcement had rocked the village. Dangling with her knees hooked over a bar, she'd been bending at the waist until she could strike up at the ceiling. Up, one, two, down- then again over and over. No matter what kind of exercise she was doing Natsuki always worked in punches, that was the point of it all right? to get stronger, to be better at fighting. She found she was able to focus better when she reminded herself of that, when she could slowly feel her puncehs getting heavier, sharper, faster.

She'd only been going for about twenty minutes when the distant boom and the muffled voice interrupted her trance like state. Natsuki hauled herself out of the nearby window and onto the roof, from there she hardly needed a byakugan to tell what was going on, the column of black smoke rising up from the hospital told he revery thing she needed to know.

"Hokage Soruto Uzumaki has been killed by righteous authority of the people. He was not killed by weapons but rather by the incompetency of the truce that ended the Great Shinobi War."

"Do not panic. Your scream's a whisper. Long live the true shinobi who gave their lives so that politicians may now control your thoughts."

What a load of crap, what kind of true shinobi pulled a load of sick and injured people who couldn't even fight back into their dumb crusade? Should she help? Would they even want the help of someone who was barely a genin or would she just be getting in the way there as well?

Without meaning to Natsuki felt her hand clench into a fist, at the same time she noticed the figure making their way rapidly across the rooftops some distance away. From the way he moved the man was obviously a shinobi, probably a jonin, with everything going on it wouldn't be strange to see a jonin rushing around on the rooftops.

But wasn't he going the wrong way? The hospital lay back in the direction the man was coming from, if anything it looked like he was headed for the exit, who would be leaving the village at a time like this? Even weirder there was a girl who looked to be roughly Natsuki's age in his path, standing her ground.

Shady thought Natsuki, her eyes narrowing. This whole thing stinks Impulsively she leapt from her perch and started closing the gap between, dashing from building to building with practiced ease. Natsuki could smell a fight when she saw one and even if that guy wasn't super shady him against a scrawny looking girl half his age seemed like pretty uncool odds to her.

Hopefully Natsuki could even things up a bit.

The Hidden Leaf, Konoha!

Ishimaru

"Get moving Ishimaru or I'll make you move like one of your puppets..."
Yumako demanded from the inside of Ishimaru. She manipulated Ishimaru's leg muscles to throw him forward violently, though he caught himself by bracing himself on his hands and knees. A grotesque sight them formed on the back of Ishimaru's hand that made even the likes of him slightly squirm: Yumako's red eyes, and mouth molded their shape through his skin. Yumako was looking right into Ishimaru's eyes.

"Go where we planned, or else..."

"Alright, alright!" Ishimaru slapped down on the back of his hand where Yumako's eyes and mouth had formed, but they sank back in before he could hit. "Quit your bitching and...."

Ishimaru was interrupted the by sounds of ANBU hitting the roof nearby him. Shit. With a show of great agility, Ishimaru lashed out onto his feet, and threw a quick, quick as lightning, right into one of the two ANBU surrounding him. There was a satisfying crack with the contact of his shin against his neck, and the ANBU dropped to the ground.

His handsigns were very fast and precise, finishing up before the other ANBU had time to react.

"Fire Style: Blazing Wildfire!"

A large hose of fire, roughly the circumference of a small car shot out wildy, with flames firing in in all directing and completely absorbing the last ANBU whilst lighting the roof as well. His screams blocked out the sound of charring wood.

"Go now!" Yumako yelled out, to Which Ishimaru quickly turned a bolted across the roof. Just in time too, a group of at least 20 ANBU was hot on their trail. Multiple Kunai soared past him, some missing by just inches. Ishimaru pressed the pace even more, and so did the ANBU. Now they looked like Blurs shooting across the Konoha skyline, jumping evasive manuevers and throwing down the occasional explosive tag.

The chase led right to one of the village gates, where Ishimaru quickly leaped into the trees. More ANBU were on the chase now. This was now a high speed pursuit with half of the village ANBU ranks after what appeared to be just one man.

"I'll lose these idiots. Drop out before they get me in eyesight."

With that said Yumako seeming...morphed out of Ishimaru. Floating out of him like some kind of ghost. She was dropped out of the treeline and onto the road below, before any of the ANBU could regain their eyesight onto Ishimaru.

Yumako

The pale blue skinned landed perfectly on both feet onto the road below, directly in front of Gracia, though that was unknown to Yumako as for the moment her back was turned. She knelt down silently, simply watching the treeline above. All of the ANBU leaped above her, all still fixated on Ishimaru. Plan was going perfectly. Ishimaru was the bait, and would lure all of the authorities away in the nearby countryside while she sneaked off with the documents stolen from Konoha intelligence. Yumako's pale fingers entered her pockets, and she felt the rough yet smooth texture of the scrolls within her coat pocket.

"Fools." She exclaimed softly, preparing her hands for a transformation ninjutsu. Her pale and disturbing demeanor then turned around, only to see Gracia standing directly in front of her path out of the village. Taken back by this, she dropped the handsign, though her facial expression remained the same. In the heat of the moment she must have not cared to check her surroundings.

Her red eyes, and almost lifeless figure stared deep into the girl in front of her. Her chakra levels were nothing more than that of a genin, and she was about as young as one...But she didn't dress like one. Was this a Samurai?

"What do we have here?" Her monotone voice called out suddenly from her seemingly lifeless form.

"A little samurai standing in my way?" She mocked, stepping forward a few feet. Her senses much more keen now that she was adapted fully back to her own body, she also noticed another genin was rushing this way, too far for her to get out the details of.

"And you brought a friend." Her expression stayed the same, monotone. "How cute."

Two kunai slipped out of the sleeves of her large grey robe. With no hesistation, she flung them both with speed and precision, one at Gracia, and the other at the charging Natsuki. No one was coming to help these two, all of the big kids were after Ishimaru.

| KAORI UEDA |
Boarding the boat, Kaori understood the long journey ahead of them. One hour - or perhaps three - would be used on this specific ride, with the only things available to view being the endless waves and the occasional island in the distance. Understanding this, she decided to sleep the ride off. "Sensei, I'm taking a nap. Wake me up when we've arrived please," Kaori said plainly, walking towards three empty seats.

Lying down on them, Kaori shifted into a comfortable position, closing her eyes slowly as the boat began to disembark. A good nap now equals more energy later. And more energy later equals more tolerance for Shunsui, she thought blissfully, drifting off into her subconscious.

--

Kaori - an hour later - was abruptly awoken to the sounds of a crack. Opening her eyes quickly, she saw the world around her crumble (or specifically just the boat). She was now seemingly suspended in the air - the only thing being seen from her laid down position being the blood red sky. Heart pumping rapidly, adrenaline rushing, Kaori shot upwards, utterly confused of what was happening. She was was frankly terrified, even if she would like to deny it.

"That Chakra... You are an Uchiha... Matsuda Uchiha... This is nothing personal... Just doing my job..."

My job? Who--what?! she internally shouted to herself, shooting her gaze towards the man who had said it. The man himself did not contribute positively to Kaori's frightened self. His bright, red eyes felt piercing - making Kaori feel as though the more she looked the higher chance she would be killed on the spot.

He began to speak of the "game" he had in mind, and how they all must be silent (excluding Matsuda). Time past, and events began to unfold. Shunsui was being the reckless individual Kaori had predicted him to be, the stranger gave Shunsui various options, and Matsuda quickly ordering him down.

Kaori dearly wanted to do something, yet she didn't possess the power to do so. Knowing this, instead she decided to assist a slightly injured Shunsui. Crouching down, her hands turned a blue tint as Kaori began to mend the extremely minimal injury he was given. It wasn't very helpful, yet it was better than standing idly like a buffoon.

Natsuki Hyuuga

Two kunai slipped out of the sleeves of her large grey robe. With no hesistation, she flung them both with speed and precision, one at Gracia, and the other at the charging Natsuki. No one was coming to help these two, all of the big kids were after Ishimaru.

Natsuki was midjump when a flurry of movement from her target caught her attention and her eyes widened as a metallic glint hurtled towards her. With barely a moment to react Natsuki twisted, emitting chakra from her palms to propel herself around the path of the deadly weapon. Natsuki was safe but her trajectory was thrown off and she skidded to an awkward landing on a nearby rooftop, taking cover behind a chimney her heart beating wildly.

Just from that exchange Natsuki could tell her opponent was dangerous, any genin would struggle to hit a moving target at that distance but that kunai would have gone straight through her throat if she hadn't reacted quickly enough. Natsuki inhaled sharply, she didn't have any way of attacking from range, she hadn't brought any ninja tools with her and in any case getting into a midrange exchange of fire with this lady seemed like a quick way to end up... well with a kunai in her throat. As far as Natsuki could tell she had two options, keep her distance and wait for help, or close in and try to bring her taijutsu to bear. from the brief glimpse Natsuki had gotten of her attacker the woman didn't seem that built, close quarters might not be her strong suit.

Hardly a choice at all. Of course the problem was getting close enough to fight her properly in the first place, it was tempting to just make a beeline for the woman but that seemed like a good way to get skewered, Natsuki also knew she couldn't afford to hide behind this chimney for much longer.

The chimney...

An idea formed inside Natsuki's head. Yumako's perspective she would have seen Natsuki duck behind the chimney and then, a few moments later there was what sounded like a small explosion and then the chimney, fixtures and all rocketed towards Yumako like an untidy cannonball. Natsuki had simply backed up a few paces, planted her foot and kicked, chakra propelling her feet forwards and then repelling the chimney away, launching it forwards explosively. At the same time, hoping to take advantage of any distraction Natsuki launched herself downwards, ricocheting off a wall and propelling herself towards Yumako, foot outstretched to kick.

Gracia

Gracia's gaze followed the man as he dashed into the trees. A large group of ANBU were after him, so there was no chance he'd escape them. Right? They were moving so fast, she could barely keep up with his movement. Gracia let out a breath of relief, and relaxed her grip on her katana. Something wasn't right though. Was someone falling off of the man? That couldn't be possible. Gracia ran her forearm across her eyes, as a woman gently dropped to the ground only a meter or two in front of her.

The woman was pale, slightly resembling a dead body. Gracia's grip on her blade tightened, and her knuckles whitened. When the woman turned around however, Gracia could only gasp. Her eyes were red. Gracia gasped audibly, and took a step back. The woman spoke. "What do we have here? A little samurai standing in my way?" The woman took a few steps forward, and Gracia instinctively took matching steps backwards. Spotting movement over the woman's shoulder, Gracia could see another girl heading towards them. Gracia recognized her, but couldn't place who she was. Gracia had little time to recall, as the woman suddenly spun, and threw a kunai directly at Gracia. With such short range, anyone who was unprepared would have been struck. However, Gracia's samurai training was meant for situations like this. Like a flash of light, Gracia drew her blade and slashed the kunai out of the sky. It was a single fluid motion. Gracia grinned as he kunai spun away. This woman didn't look very strong, just scary. If she charged her, and slashed before she could make a handsign, it might be possible to take her down right away. It sounded like a good plan to Gracia. After a brief delay, Gracia suddenly charged forward, her blade drawn and ready to slash. The blue glow of chakra surrounded her blade. As soon as the woman's hands moved, Gracia would slice her in half. Well, that was the goal at least.

Yumako

Yumako made a mental note on how both of her opponents reacted to the Kunai attack. Both weren't much larger than she was, which was probably why they were charging her. Most likely they wanted to capitalize on this, trying to get in close range. While she wasn't by any means as good at Taijutsu as Ishimaru, she did know enough to defend herself, at least from that of genin ranked Shinobi.

From behind her, one genin had taken an extremely unorthodox strategy and was literally blasting themselves toward, opening up for a kick with the momentum. Then from her front, the Samurai was charging in with a chakra blade...most curious as that takes a very fine control of Chakra to do something like that. She was close too, much too close to do handsigns...too bad she didn't need handsigns for a lot of her attacks.

Chakra counters chakra. That's the logic that must be used when facing chakra-edged attacks such as this sword. It'd cut through normal flesh like puddy. In just a moments notice, very fine, but noticable, tiny blades of Chakra formed on Yumako's fingertips. Quickly she dashed forward, and lunged her fingers forward, while simultaneously reaching with her other hand into her sleeve. The other genin (Natsuki) was probably just moments away from making contact....

But her attack was a bluff! Right after moving in for a strike, and making the stabbing motions, Yumako suddenly used her momentum to spin off of her front in an evasive maneuver to the left, away from her dominant hand. Then, using the momentum of he swing she swiftly chucked a kunai at Natsuki once again, in an attempt to hopefully disrupt her trajectory and cause both Genin to smash into each other.

~Santeru Ishumari~

His eyes intently scanned over the city his sinister smirk plastered across his face, his sharp features hidden behind a scarf pulled up to the bridge of his nose. He had not a single idea what was going on, or how he got displaced from the lake to here but he didn't bother wasting time with questions, he knew work must be done. His chakra began to seep throughout the city letting all inhabitants gifted with sensory abilities feel his presence like a chill in their spine, the numb feeling a clear indication that Santeru was perhaps in one of the worst moods you could find him in; amused. The violence and mass confusion fed his excitement, he wished to find those responsible in order to give him a personal thanks for brightening his day. Kicking off from the roof Santeru followed the last person he had seen within his line of sight, a young man leaving the village followed by multiple armed ANBU. While entering the tree line Santeru thought that perhaps burning the forest would make his hunt easier but decided against it as doing it once was fun enough years ago, but twice would simply be a chore to explain. He moved from branch to branch his feet barely making a sound as the wind whipped through the trees. He hopped over and past Yumako not unaware of her presence as she prepared to fight, but simply uncaring to it. He was focused on the man ahead of him, taking a small detour up and over the trees using a short burst of chakra, Santeru landed directly in front of Ishimaru his cloak making a thud as it hit against his own body, the kunai rattling together echoing off the trees with the wind. Looking at man with his face covered Santeru's expression still shone through his eyes, he was intoxicated by the hunt and sought satisfaction. He wanted answers and he was going to get them, with the jet black hair of his gently moving in the breeze Santeru's baritone reverberated into the surrounding area "Hello young man, may I ask what it is you're doing out here at this time of the night?" Motioning over towards the clueless ANBU searching the trees Santeru continued "Or perhaps it is you that is responsible for the chaos I have been exposed to." Santeru now waited for an answer his gaze not breaking away from the man.

Saburou

Team 13's Boat

Watching the wildly-made choice of the young ninja he'd given options to, Saburou became pleased with the man's answer; that is, up until the interruption of the Uchiha. "

"I find it extremely unlikely that you overcame my Sharingan."

...

"Who are you and what do you want?"

"Overcame it...? You really are an Uchiha... Overly confident that your abilities are superior to all else, and that you can see through anything no matter what it is..."

Walking over toward Kaori and Shunsui slowly, Saburou began speaking once more.

"As for who I am and what I want... I'm sure you'll have heard this name before, thought from where, I truly do wonder... The name is Saburou, Otogakure's... Well, you don't need to know the title, since not even the citizens of Otogakure wish to hear it spoken... What I want though, is irrelevant even should you require information on my motives and actions prior to and after this happening."

Stopping right in front of Shunsui, Saburou's red eyes glared down as Kaori. There was a sense of power that resonated from them, however there was no hatred, no rage; nothing but a sense of strength and a controlled determination.

"You're going to go far in life, young ninja... Stick to those words and actions you just showed, and one day you may even become stronger than I am. For now, however, it's with great misfortune I must toss you into the ocean, for the right questions have not been asked of me yet..."

Falling backwards, Saburou rotated upside-down, his heels staying anchored in place. He now floated below them once more, moving directly underneath Shunsui.

"However, with your well-met devotion to your comrades, I will offer you the chance to ask any one question, and I will answer it without delay, and without dodging it. If you ask the right question, everyone here will be spared this game."

Kirara Hyuga

Team 20 - Kumogakure

Hearing the explanation of requiring leave, Kirara immediately prepared to take lead of the team; that is, up until the blazing fire hit the library. It didn't take much detective work, much less the Byakugan as Kita had employed, to realize there was something big going on over there.

"Prepare yourselves, Genin, we're going to that library now," Kirara stated as she pulled the sheathed blade's string to toss it into her hands from her back, sheathe and all.

"Apologies in advance, Kita, but I'm going to have to request you not partake in combat. I want you positioned outside to keep track of any happenings inside. If anyone leaves the building with significant Chakra levels, you're to go after them so we don't lose track of our possible target."

With that said, Kirara seemed to be making a good call; however, the main reason behind making such a command was so that Kita wouldn't see the blade drawn from its sheathe. The flames would keep the blade's design hidden from Kita even if Kita peered in through Byakugan, that much would be sure, but if Kita were inside, there'd be no way of using the blade without Kita seeing it.

"Maeno, you'll be coming with me straight into the library. Hamada, once Kita analyzes the opponents to get a good understanding of them, you'll head in with the information collected through our presence and their Chakra. It's likely that which ever one has lower Chakra levels will be our person, seeing how they've supposedly been elusive thus far. No questions asked, there's no time to waste; now move out!"

With that, Kirara began dashing straight toward the library, making sure that Yubina was following nearby on the way toward and into the library. Once reaching the burning building, Kirara looked for the nearest opening to get in, directing Yubina to a broken window in which they'd enter once they got a good look inside. Thus, Kirara took a stealthy look through, using Byakugan to see past any flames that would visually obscure her vision.

Kurai Nakamura

Kurai frowned at the words of the messenger, who likely had anticipated his reaction. The Kumiogakure jonin did want to be there with his team throughout the beginning of the mission at least rather than hear whatever inane words Santeru had for him now. Was the man even in the damned village? A formulated quickly died in his mouth as the shinobi lept away before Kurai could speak, and seconds later, the explosion that came from what he knew was the library as the establishment was quickly set ablaze. For a mere moment, the scholar within him wept for the loss of knowledge. 'This sort of breach would've never happened in Wartime.' He really hoped the ANBU weren't slacking off, otherwise he would have to have some words. Though to be fair, the Hokage had been killed in his own village not even a week ago...

However he stayed silent. Even as a split second after the explosion, his mind raced with orders to give and actions to take. He gave a minute nod towards the stoic and watched with interest as she directed the trio of genin. 'Good foresight.' He commended internally as he watched the quartet take off. With two Byakugan users it would be counter productive to have their large fields of vision overlap each-other so grossly. With Kita outside, she could also respond quickly with anyone attempting to flee, possibly with the future Hokage in tow. Naturally he was a tad bit worried. Anyone who had the gall to target such a highly valued target in broad daylight was either highly skilled or aiming to create the biggest distraction they possibly could. But he had faith in his team, and the ANBU who would likely step in if it proved to be something they couldn't handle.

But alas, he had his own duties to attend to, such as responding to an audience his venerable Kage had requested with him. It wasn't long before Kurai was in the office, silently waiting as he watched the library burn in the distance.

Hachiro Hyuga

To say Hachiro was getting mad, even if he already wasn't would be an understatement. Between the fact that their first mission had been overhauled in such a fashion, to the fact that both his and Matuda's Bloodlines, a gifts descended from the The Sage of Six Paths and his brother themselves had been unable to see through this Gemjutsu.(It had to be another specfic Kekkai Genkai. Just had to be.) To the ultra-idiotic charge his teammate had done because he thought it was apparently honorable to throw away his life like that. (The overtly talkative individual was now commending him on his "devotion" which only served to further the Hyuga's irritation.)

And most of all, he was absolutely useless. He was out of his league as man at least had to be on his Sensei's level which was nothing to snuff at. Plus he had the drop on them with a plan he'd likely been planning for a few days or two,if even that. The last time he'd recalled feeling so helpless was when he learned his parents had perished, probably somewhere near this general location.

Gods, as if he already wasn't angry enough.

But beyond listening to shinobi's stupid game, and hoping that the Mizugakure shinobi noticed that a certain boat wasn't arriving on time, it seemed there wasn't much else to do. His mind had raced to find flaws in the genjutsu, which had led to some terrifying discoveries. First and foremost being that he and his squads chakra pathways were not being disrupted in any way from what he could see. Considering every genjutsu no matter how powerful in the history of creation had done this, it was both mind-boggling and dread inducing. The otherside of the coin was that both his and Matsuda's dojutsu had been affected to the point where they couldn't even read chakra correctly. Such layers in what seemed to be a purely visual genjutsu(He could still smell and hear the ocean after all.) did not bode well. So, with a clenched fist he merely stood and watched on.

Natsuki Hyuuga

But her attack was a bluff! Right after moving in for a strike, and making the stabbing motions, Yumako suddenly used her momentum to spin off of her front in an evasive maneuver to the left, away from her dominant hand. Then, using the momentum of he swing she swiftly chucked a kunai at Natsuki once again, in an attempt to hopefully disrupt her trajectory and cause both Genin to smash into each other.

Natsuki saw the kunai flash towards her again, there was less distance for the weapon to cover this time but Natsuki had been expectiing another attack and was able to react again. Chakra gathered in her outspread palms and burst out, downwards on the right side and upwards on the left, imparting spin and tilting her towards the other genin. With an instant before they collided Natsuki hiked her hips and legs upwards, sailing over Gracia's head close enough to disturb her long purple hair.

You wont get rid of me that easily! Natsuki thought, gritting her teeth. The new, higher arc meant Natsuki traveled less distance and her feet touched down a moment later on Gracia's opposite side. Natsuki dropped into a crouch and then chakra burst from her feet as she dashed to the side, closing in on Yumako and staying low to the ground to convert her momentum into a rapid leg sweep. Hopefully she could force the woman into the the air where she would have fewer options.

All of this flashed through Natsuki's mind in a few seconds, she felt sharp, alert, hyper aware. Natstuki didn't have time right then to reflect on it but later she would recognize this feeling. After so much time quietly training, experimenting and refining on her own it felt insanely good to be testing herself out, pushing against something real that could push back even harder. Right now, with her failure to awaken a byakugan and her uncertain relationship with the rest of the lcan driven from her mind Natsuki felt better than she had in months.

Maeno, Yubina

Team 20 - Kumogakure
Yubina turned to the messenger, remaining quiet as the man pulled their squads leader away for super secret shinobi business. To say the least she was disappointed at the sudden turn of events. She had hoped to show herself to her superior through this mission, but it seemed that the universe had other plans.

Still, that didn't mean she couldn't wow Kiara with her ninja prowess!

She turned to their new leader and began to address them when there was a large report from a nearby building. Yubina quickly turned in the direction of the source and scanned the area, hoping for a sign, when the library's windows exploded and the whole building burst into flames. That seemed like a good enough sign to her, mhm mhm. Dashing off alongside her fellow ninja, Yubina came to a skidding halt in front of the library, her hand already on the hilt of her rapier. All of the knowledge inside was burning and most would be as good as lost... It was sad to think about it really, but there were definitely more pressing matters. She had a mission to accomplish!

When Kiara began to call out orders for the group, Yubina listened intently for her name and immediately perked up when it was called. She would be entering the building with her sensei, it seemed. It would be dangerous to search for their target as well as stay out of the cross hairs of whoever did this if they were still nearby, but it would also be a great chance to prove herself. Not to mention an excellent chance to practice her Suiton. She followed Kiara around the building as they searched for an entry point, eventually coming upon the broken window they would end up using. Yubina climbed up on the nearest object that appeared study and contorted her body to slip into the window, lucky not to cut herself on the way in. Once they had finally gathered their bearings inside, Yubina drew her rapier and awaited further instructions, although her body language showed she was rather anxious and impatient.

You would be too if you were standing in a burning building.

Gracia

It looked as if it was going to work out well. As soon as the woman struck out towards her, Gracia delivered a fast slice of her katana. Gracia expected to feel her blade hit something, but she felt nothing but air. The surprise of missing caused Gracia to stumble forward, and nearly face plant. She thought she felt something soar over her head, but whatever it was, it went to fast for her to identify while she stumbled. Gracia struggled to recover, taking a few more seconds than she wanted. Crouching low, Gracia had her katana unsheathedin her right hand, and her left hand on its scabbard.

Gracia watched as the other genin made use of some really fast and difficult looking techniques to maneuver towards the pale woman. Unfortunately it wouldn't as easy as a simple up front slash to take her down. It seemed Gracia would have to make use of her ninja skills this time. The Clone Jutsu she learned was pretty useful, but she'd never tried it out in combat before. Ecspecially against a criminal. Gracia had to make this lady pay for making her stumble. Gracia was too cool for that.

The other genin seemed to have a plan, so striking while the woman was distracted with her sounded like a gods idea to Gracia. Running towards the woman, Gracia held her blade in her right hand with a handisgn in her left. Hopefully the woman would stay still so she could make a clone to stab her right away. While her clone stabbed the lady, Gracia planned to leap over the clone and bring her katana down on her head or shoulder.

As she ran to strike, something clicked in her mind. If this woman was associated with the man fleeing earlier, could she be as strong as he was? There were like a billion ANBU chasing him, so he had to be a strong guy. If this lady was worth so many ANBU like the man, than she and the other genin may be in over their head trying to fight her. Gracia's grip tightened on her blade. It didn't matter, you don't get stronger by sitting on the sidelines.

Yumako

Both genin were fighting valiantly. Most opponents might respect and comment on such a sight. But Yumako was not most opponents. Most would try finishing off the genin quickly, but that's not what Yumako wanted. Instead she wanted her amusement out of them. Both were trying to cover the distance and get up close to her, the Hyuga through the use of clones, and the other through rapid pacing.

Instead of fleeing back from her opponents, Yumako wanted them close. She wasn't proficient at Taijutsu, but up close was where she was her most deadly...as her opponents would soon learn. Natsuki's kick was successful, however it appeared to do very little against the mysterious corpse-like woman that was Yumako. She flew up into the air, enough to be out of their striking range at least for a few seconds. Yet she was completely in control of he ascent and descent. It was time to finish this....or rather begin it.

Small, ball shaped bells flew out of Yumako's pocket, and their descent through the air caused them to rattle loudly. Yumako quickly flung out handsigns, probably faster than these genin had ever seen before.

"Suffer." Is all Yumako said at the end of the handsigns. Suddenly, the high-pitched bells committed a disturbingly low-pitched ring for their size. Most likely unknown to the genin, this was the sound wave that would emmit Yumako's genjutsu. A rather simple, yet very effective way of transmitting the genjutsu. She highly doubted that low-ranking shinobi such as these would be able to resist the effects of genjutsu.

Ishimaru

Ishimaru immediately halted at the sight of the Raikage, and listened to his words. The ANBU behind him stopped, and simply set up a perimeter surrounding him. Well, the distraction part was at least achieved...the Raikage was...unplanned. Wasn't he supposed to be aboard a train heading back to the land of Lightning like intelligence said? What the hell was the point of having a rather large network of spies that could get a copy of the Kage's schedules to avoid contact with them if the schedules were wrong? Then again, this was the raikage....

This frustrated Ishimaru. He hated surprises. Especially kage-level surprises. Kage were all a bunch of loud-mouthed snobs who simply thought they were better than everyone else around them. Why else did they all where obnoxious, fancy, and stupid clothing?

"Chaos you've been exposed to? Why am I out here?"

Ishimaru let out a very annoying laugh out of irritation. He suddenly jerked his finger forward and pointed at the Raikage

"Why are YOU here? You're supposed to be on a train going back to your dumb village with your stupid wife and whatever. Fucking posers..."

As Ishimaru spoke his other arm slowly began to ready itself, by reaching into his coat to grab one of his scrolls. There was no telling what this Kage would do...especially one of this reputation.

Matsuda

All Matsuda could do was sit back and watch just like her students. Hand gripped firmly on her sword, she prepared for the worse. Yet it seemed that she was powerless...Maybe this was genjutsu. Nothing else would make sense afterall. The amount of chakra to be doing what this individual was...it would cost too much. However, Matsuda hadn't had to escape a genjutsu in a very long time. She could do it...but she was 'rusty', to put it lightly.

Her nostils flared a little, and she let out a sigh. For a second or two she closed her eyes, then looked over at Kaori.

"Go ahead Kaori. Ask. That's an order. Whatever happens next is on me." She said, trying to reassure her student. Taking some of the consequences pressure off of her shoulder might just be what they all needed right now.

Asura

Konoha, Forest Border

Watching from atop the trees, Asura awaited the end of the fight between Yumako and the Genin. However, that ending never did seem to come. As a result, Asura decided that it was time to step in. With a sound that seemingly imploded the ears of those around, a small but powerful wave of light-absorbing Chakra spread around the area of the Genin and Yumako.

With the wave, Asura landed in the center of the trio, and the bells fell right into his right, steel-made hand.

. . .

. . .

. . .

"This fight has gone on long enough," Asura finally said, although very silently.

With a swing of his arm, Asura tossed the bells back to Yumako.

"You acting up here won't keep attention off of you; it'll bring it to yourself... I recommend leaving with what you've managed obtain now, before ANBU realize what's going on with chasing Ishimaru..."

With those silent, cold-hearted and distant words, Asura turned toward the Genin, his blade swinging alongside him on his back.

"You two... I advise you leave this area as soon as possible... Return to your teachers or homes... Otherwise, you won't live to understand what's transpired here today..."

Pausing for a moment, Asura pulled his left hand up to his sword's hilt after glancing in Gracia's eyes with the four on his collar.

"On second thought... You, the sword-wielding one... I'll be fighting you..."

Natsuki grit her teeth, her heart hammering away in her chest. Thinking about it, those bells had to be for genjutsu right? it wasn't like they worked as a simple distraction and it looked like they were safe to handle. Natsuki hadn't even put a scratch on her opponent and she'd been about to fall under a genjutsu she had no idea how to break . And now she was being told to go home with her tail between her legs?

Fuck that.

"Hey come on you're just gonna leave?" Natsuki pointed to Yumako and forced herself to smile. "If you're buddy here is going to stick around then shouldn't we finish what we started as well? Unless you don't think you have time, how long is it going to take you to beat one genin anyway? ten seconds? twenty?" Natsuki cocked her fists and settled into a fighting stance, gathering chakra in her hands. "Why don't you take a guess before we start and I'll see if I can surprise you?"

What she had couldn't really be described as a plan, it was more of a gamble that might create an opening. And anyway the whole thing was stupid, Natsuki had no idea who these people were but but they could casually break into Konohagakure, steal whatever they wanted and blow up hospitals. She doubted anybody seriously expected her to do anything here. But if Natsuki was the type of person to back down from fights she didn't think she could win then she would have starved to death back in the land of Hot Water.

Gracia

Gracia came to a screeching halt. A ninja dropped between her and the woman, and caught the steel balls that were thrown. Was he about to help them? No. He just told the woman to hurry up and leave. That meant he was working with them. Then, the man turned to the her and the other genin girl. He told them to return home, or die. Gracia was visibly shaking.

The offer was tempting, and Gracia was on the verge of turning on her heel to retreat. However, just before Gracia could make a decision, the man looked at Gracia. His hand on his sword. "On second thought... You, the sword wielding one... I'll be fighting you." he commanded. Eyes wide in shock, Gracia gasped. Why would he suddenly change his mind and want to fight her alone? W-was It because they both had swords? She looked towards the other genin. It appeared she had no intention of backing down.

"W-why me?" Gracia stuttered. She silently cursed herself for stuttering, and quickly sheathed her katana. Her hand remained on the handle. Her wakizashi hung at her side unused. Why would this man suddenly change his mind like this? Was he going to try to kill Gracia, or was he just goin to have a little fun? Maybe sitting on the sidelines would've been a good idea.

~Santeru Ishumari~

Santeru raised an eyebrow in response to Ishimaru's response, he could tell this particular individual was not pleased at his presence "Who ever is pleased to see me?" Santeru chuckled to himself at the thought. But taking his index finger to the brim of the scarf and pulling it down he exposed his sinister smirk and sharp facial features, which showed that even with Ishimaru's standoff response he was still pleased with the conversation. Santeru noticed the ninja ready himself but still sat idly giving a reply to Ishimaru "Truthfully, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing here. I was enjoying myself on a lake soaking up the sun and the next thing I know I'm in the middle of Konoha." Gesturing to the ANBU in the surrounding area that remained cautious of his presence Santeru continued "But then I saw these men mobilizing and became curious to the unfolding events."
DpYA79v.gif
Santeru's attitude began to change as his eyes glowed brightly with amusement, he was intoxicated by the razor thin tension clinging in the air. He paused allowing the wind to gently roll through and for his mind to strop swirling into the void. Santeru's composure was surely failing as his chakra aura became visible, it looked like a violet cloak of flames burning intently off his person. His hand slowly reached to the front of his cloak opening up the front to expose the hundreds of kunai that lined the inside, each one gleaming from both the moonlight and the chakra's intently burning flames. Santeru's gaze did not leave Ishimaru this entire time his stare remained fixated on him even as his expressions changed but now it was a solid sinister smile that was spread across Santeru's face. "You know, I haven't had fun in awhile. It's been politics, and mission after mission to secure some foot hold of peace in this damn new age. But tell you what, make my day and allow me to cut loose for a little while." Santeru began to deeply chuckle to himself, the laugh reverberating and echoing throughout the surrounding Konoha forest.

Katsumi
Kenji

"Wait, what?"

"Where did he go?"

"How the heck does Scarykage-sama escape us all the time?"

"I don't know, find him!"

"On it!"

Somehow, the Raikage had once again disappeared from Kenji and Katsumi's sight. The lake was nearby, and Katsumi could sense some crazy shit going down over there, but none of that mattered. Finding the Raikage was most important.

"Did you find him yet, Katsumi?"

"Yea, but he really covered some ground. There's a lot of chakra surrounding him."

"So you're saying he's getting into trouble again?"

"Heck yea! And we're missing out! Let's go!"

"Perhaps it's best if we do miss out..."

Katsumi sped off in the direction of Konoha. Kenji followed a distance behind her. If the Raikage was in fact getting into a fight, then it would be best that they at least observe and if necessary assist him. Knowing the Raikage, any support would only slow him down. Let's just hope he wouldn't be angry with his ANBU bodyguards.

| KAORI UEDA |
Balling her fists, the blue tint wore off and Kaori gave a heavy sigh. Closing her eyes for a moment and then proceeding to stand, she turned around to be met by Saburou's gaze. Internally Kaori's jumped - rapid blinking compensating for her lack of any other fearful sign. Another deep breath was all she needed to slow down her blinking, and her racing heart.

The man proceeded to give - despite being the enemy - Kaori and her comrades words of encouragement. He then proceeded to state there was only one question he would grant the four, increasing the pressure further. Kaori's head shot towards her sensei. She's an Uchiha. A famous one at that. She'll get us out of this mess I'm sure, she thought hopefully.

"Go ahead Kaori. Ask. That's an order. Whatever happens next is on me."

"Hm?!" she squeaked. Suddenly she felt the pressure of four lives on her shoulders - though she decided to calm herself. There was nothing to fret, and the young genin forced herself to believe she had the capabilities to succeed.

I can do this. A simple battle of wits - against someone far more experienced than me-....No! I can do this.

Taking her third deep breath within these few minutes, Kaori began to analyze her surroundings and the problem she had to solve: the combination of ninjutsu Saburou employed. Frantically moving her head in all directions, she tried to look for clues. The red sky: nothing. The boat falling apart: nothing. Kaori felt hopeless, and with each second passing stress built further and further. Then, she peered towards the blood red sky again.

Wait, blood red sky? I've only heard of that happening-

"You've asked for the ninjutsu techniques in play, though this is a genjutsu in play instead, isn't it?" she gulped, hoping her question was the correct one.

Yumako

She took a step back upon seeing the sight of Asura. How long had he been up there? Yumako took a good look at Asura, almost looking intrigued by his form. If it were up to her, she'd want to give him a very close examination...find out what makes that metal hand work. However, there was no time for that. Right now she had a mission to do. It was a shame she wasn't going to be able to have any fun with those genin...as if not for Asura those bells would have put them under her Genjutsu.

She turned. The Hyuga, Natsuki, pouted. Very obvious challenges were thrown her way. She wasn't interested anymore however.

Simply, Yumako faced Natsuki for the last time.

"Not today."

She then turned, making a transformation handsign, transforming into a perfect copy of ANBU blackops shinobi from Konoha. How she gained that detailed of a copy...was best left unspoken. Yumako, now in her transferred form, then walked off down the road. After a few steps, she hopped into the trees, and then vanished into the Forrest.

Ishimaru

Two Kage in one day...that had to be some sort of record...right? Ishimaru bit his teeth down, examining his opponent...For this man he'd probably need...Misery. Yeah...That would do. Quickly he unrolled his left-most scroll, sliced open his his thumb, and undid the blood seal. Within just moments he'd summoned his puppet: Misery.

Misery was a rather odd looking puppet. It had a human figure, and was completely black in color. Standing at roughly 5-11' It's most distinguishing characteristic: A pure white sad drama mask. Draped over its body was a light grey ANBU Robe, similar to that of what Yumako wore.

A very cocky grin then went over Ishimaru's face. His wooden hand pushed up his glasses over his eyes as he looked right at Santeru. Each kunai's flame reflected off of the frames of his glasses. Slowly, he crept right behind his puppet, Chakra strings coming out of both of his fingers. With the fine movement of just a few fingers, Misery's arms raised, and its hands clamped together...into a handsign. What was odd about the puppet slowly began coming to light: It had a chakra Signature, focused directly in its core in spite of being made purely of wood.

Suddenly the puppet began firing off multiple hand signs. Ishimaru snickered.

"Fire Style: Inferno!"

A stream of fire blasted out from the the mouth portion of the mask on Misery, and smoke bellowed from out of the eyeholes. The fire stream fired out in a cone shape, with it expanding wider with distance. By the time it reached Santeru, it would be a wall of molten flame.

Asura

Konoha, Forest border

"W-why me?"

. . .

"That's for you to figure out... However, I will tell you this; you've a similarity to me that you probably have yet to take notice of..."

Drawing his blade from his back, Asura spun the blade and tossed it high in the air. "Prepare yourself. The moment that blade lands in the ground, the duel begins."

With the blade spinning, and spinning, and spinning, as hard as Asura had tossed it up, it seemed like it would be a good ten seconds at least for preparation. However, that was soon to be proven very wrong.

"Begin!" Asura said, the blade suddenly pointing downward and flying instantaneously to the ground perfectly between the two, just barely going in. Asura immediately dashed at Gracia, grabbing his blade with his left hand. Jumping, he spun leftward and swung the sword with him as he turned into a powerful downward slash directed not at Gracia's head or torso, but at her sword arm.

"This is the most effective way to show you what you have similar to me... However, it working depends on how well you know yourself... Thus, this battle may very well end your career as a swordsman..."

"Not today."

Jumping, he spun leftward and swung the sword with him as he turned into a powerful downward slash directed not at Gracia's head or torso, but at her sword arm.

dammit!..

An instant after Asura dashed forwards Natsuki bolted as well, rocketing forwards from her standing position with the help of the chakra blasting out of her feet. Her instinctive reaction was to go after the woman, to dole out some payback for being toyed with and then discarded so easily. It seemed like the weird guy with the metal hand was interested enough in the other genin not to kill her. If his plan was to kill them he could have done so easily by not interfering with his ally's genjutsu, instead he'd interrupted it and even warned them away. The woman seemed to be carrying something important, if he was happy to distract himself fighting a genin one on one Natsuki should take advantage of that and try to at least slow down the more important target right?

But, almost before she realized what direction she was going, Natsuki was moving towards Asura. What? She wasn't good enough for him? Was she so little of a threat that she could just be completely ignored? Natsuki wasn't going to be that skinny orphan people looked right through like she was invisible, not anymore. That was why she was inserting herself into this fight. It had nothing to do with the other genin, nothing to do with the way she shook and her voice wavered when she asked "why me?" Natsuki didn't particularly care what happened to her. Natsuki was just doing whatever she wanted like always.

"Sorry but-"

Natsuki's planted her foot hard, close to Asura, converting her forward momentum into rotation as chakra erupted from her elbow and shoulder, propelling her fist forward.

"-You're gonna have to fight both of us!"
