Fantasy Murder: The Shadow's Grip

@JayJay @Cressy

//Okie dokie. Night! :) Tis been fun~ I love being The Doctor. haha. xD

[Oops didn't notice your post. xD Sorry!]

Lia was surpised when Natsu suddenly hugged her. She wasn't sure what to think about the hug at first, but after a moment she could tell that it was genuine. Natsu did care about her and valued the friendship. "It makes me feel safer to know that." she hugged her back. "It feels weird to have a friend other than Renegade, but I'm starting not to mind so much. I laugh a lot and feel good when I hang out with you and Manco. I'm so glad you ran into me and invited me to go on this trip. To be honest, I would defend you in the same manner." She patted Natsu on the shoulder and parted from her, going to finish up her cooking.

//I think I'm going to bed now myself. *fingers crossed for the update tomorrow* Good night! ^_^
Hehe that is good to hear!. *She looks around a little bored* Just let me know when you're done with the fire and all. *Natsu flops on the ground and stares into the sky with boredom in her eyes*

@Cressy (Just so you know, we're in your house. I'll stop tagging you now though. xD Just come look for us later if you want.)
Arya walked in and quickly noticed the mess.

She sighed and rolled her eyes while dropping the food on the bed.

Naked? Did he really just say that?

Seeing as he was now topless, Arya supposed he was actually being serious.

She had seen men naked before, but still she didn't want things to become awkward.

"Perhaps it would be better to leave your clothes on, lord Doctor."

Sitting down on the bed and taking a bite of her apple, Arya watched the doctor bite into one as well.

His reaction was surprising to her.

"It's only an apple, how can you not like apples?"

But then she reminded herself of what she said about being surprised and seeing weird things around this man.

She just gave a small smile and decided to let it go.

"There's not much around here, really." she said with her mouth full of apple.

"Either it's boring old things I've seen too much of already, or it's shiny new things I've never seen before...

I mean no offense to Ser Siegfried by that, of course, but... he does seem a bit boring."

Arya lied back and closed her eyes, chewing her apple.

The Doctor glanced down at himself with a frown when she suggested he keep his clothes on. "Well I have some clothes on for the moment. But, if you insist! I'll find something more to wear. I'd just rather like to eat first."

He frowned when she asked him how he could like apples and shrugged. "The old me liked apples. Hated pears. Every me likes and dislikes different things, just like anyone would."

The Doctor continued to look through the food, sampling everything. He hated the carrots, beans, yogurt and just about everything he stuffed into the hole under his nose--except for ice cream, he liked ice cream. But the item he liked the most, of course, was the quirkiest one: fish fingers and custard! He hopped to his feet and clapped his hands he liked it so much.

"Now that is food!"

After he had ate a bit, he returned to his search for clothing, pulling out a big, fluffy parka with an unsure expression on his face.

"Really? Nothing to do here? How dull! Who knew Siegfried was so dull!" he huffed. "Perhaps we should explore outside the manor then. After you get some new clothes as well. You're smelly." He paused, realizing he'd been rude again. "Dear me, I'm a rude and blunt man now. Apologies."

He picked at the fluff from the parka for a moment before tossing it down.

Arya kept her eyes closed and put her hands behind her head, listening to the doctor.

A chuckle or a laugh escaped her mouth occasionally whenever the Doctor would say or do something funny.

The last time she met someone who could make her laugh was a very long time ago... And she ended up watching him die.

She didn't take offense to him calling her smelly, she knew her clothes were dirty.

"You're right, you're being very un-lord-like, lord Doctor!" she said with a tone of voice like a mother would have.

Ironically, her mouth was full of apple when she said that.

She started thinking about what other clothes to get.

"I think I'd like to see what the girls of this realm wear.

Perhaps I would even wear it. A dress or something, a fancy one."

She brushed her fingers through her short hair.

"Maybe I'll wear my hair differently as well."

Arya thought of something and frowned, opening her eyes.

She sat up, tilting her head a little as she looked at the Doctor.

"Do you know how girls of this world dress, lord Doctor? I haven't seen any my age around."

"I'm actually all done now," Lia admitted, as she finished cooking her food. She began to eat, tossing bits to Renegade. "After we're done eating, do you want to pack up camp and move on?"

The goofy time lord wiggled his eyebrows. "If I'm so un-lord-like, why do you keep calling me Lord Doctor then?" he teased.

He continued riffling through the clothes, eventually finding a white dress shirt and a brown jacket. It looked like something a grandpa would wear, but The Doctor rather liked it. He began to put it on.

"Why yes!" He said. "I do know what women of this time wear. Would you fancy going to the boutique after we're done here? I'm certain you would look lovely in modern clothes. Just like my granddaughter. You remind me of her..."

He stepped in front of a mirror to look at his reflection. He liked his new clothes, but it was missing something...

Arya paid no mind to his teasing and took a bite out of a carrot.

She watched the man try out clothes, giving him her opinion on every set he held.

"No... Too old... Not classy enough... Really? ... No..."

Only when the doctor decided he liked the clothes he was holding and started to put it on, Arya raised her eyebrows.

"I.. I suppose that works... It makes you look... classy." she smiled.

She was still trying to get used to the way people in this age dressed.

Arya had never heard of a boutique before.

Most of her clothes were self-knitted, or passed down to her from her sister.

But seeing as they were talking about clothes, she made an educated guess.

"A... boot-what? Is it like a store where you can buy finished clothing?"

The corner of her mouth went up a little, she liked the idea of that.

Why had no one thought of that in her age?

"Wait, you have a granddaughter?' she asked with a surprised look.

"I never thought you looked much like a grandfather, but I suppose I was wrong."

She stood up and walked to the mirror as well, standing beside the Doctor.

Arya Stark looked dirty.

Her skin had a darker tone, only because of the layer of dirt on her face.

The last time she washed herself had still been in Westeros.

Not only did she smell smelly, she also looked smelly in a way.

"But you're right. I should change the way I look. And I'll probably need a bath as well."

Yes that sounds like a wonderful plan. *Natsu blows on the firs to make it stronger. She then inhales deep making all the fire go Into her mouth and down her throat (hue hue hue). After all the fire is in her gut she let's out a loud burp, but muffled it with her hand because others apparently dislike burping* Now that is what I call a meal!

He straightened the collar of his jacket and nodded after a moment. "Yes, it is a store. We should go! It would be fun!"

The grin from his face faded when Arya questioned his granddaughter.

"Had a granddaughter," he said, his eyes looking at her like a sad puppy. "I'm over 900 years old, so I've had just about everything."

He quietly whispered. "And lost just about everything too..."

"..."

He gently nudged a pile of clothes on the floor with his foot. Waiting for his bad memories to pass. After they passed, The Doctor clapped his hands together and tried to perk himself up.

"But anyhow, yes! You go bathe yourself and I'll wait for you. I'll just be here looking for a finishing touch on my outfit, and perhaps resting."

Lia chuckled at Natsu's loud burp. She wanted to say that her action wasn't very lady like, but decided not to. Natsu wouldn't care.

"Well now that we've eaten, let's head out." She began to pack her things up and put them into her backpack. Renegade ran around in circles, excited they would be leaving soon.

Arya tried to imagine what it must be like living for 900 years.

But of course she couldn't. She had only lived for thirteen, and the last few of those years were filled with loss.

She watched the doctor mindlessly staring at the clothes, and felt so bad for him.

She approached him just as he clapped his hands and told her to bathe.

Laying a hand on his arm, she softly spoke.

"They were all very lucky to have known you. And I bet they were all very happy to. As I am."

Arya had tried her best to find inspiring words, but she couldn't find anything good.

Instead, she just told him how she felt about him, hoping it would help at least a little.

God, she hated herself for being so bad at making people feel better.

She gave the man who sacrificed one of his lives for hers a smile and rubbed his arm before leaving the room.

Thirty minutes later...

Arya looked at herself in the mirror.

Her skin seemed more pale now, and her eyes looked less tired.

It was the first time in a long time she actually had time to work on her lazily finger-combed hair.

Looking through the many cabinets in the bathroom, she found something made of plastic and with many things on it that she could only describe as teeth.

She ran it through her hair a few times, smiling when she saw the result.

She had taken her old brown clothing before she washed herself, and held it under a strange metal thing that spat out water.

Having left them to dry while she washed herself, they were now dry enough to put on again.

Arya didn't like putting them on over her recently cleaned skin, but there were no alternatives that wouldn't rob her of her dignity.

She made her way back to the wherever the Doctor was by now.

Eager to show him her new curly short bob, she smiled at him.

"What do you think?" she asked.

After finishing her packing, Lia glanced to Natsu. "Okay, let's go." She started walking along to resume their journey. Renegade barked and rushed off ahead out of sight, probably to play. In the distance, Renegade started barking even louder, almost as if he had found something.

Lia glanced to Natsu. "Let's go slow. Renegade may have found something up ahead. We won't know if it's good or bad..."

The Doctor's briefly sad eyes scanned Arya's face when she spoke kind words to his face and he smiled. She was trying to cheer him up. Though her words weren't the most motivational, her intent made him feel better. He smiled.

"Not the best with speeches, are you?" he teased. "Regardless, I thank you for your kind words." He placed his hands on her shoulders and patted them gently. "It is not they who were lucky to have known me, it was I who was lucky to have known them."

The other time lords, The Doctor's friends and family, he didn't count them to be lucky. They all died, and he had been the one to kill them.

"Enjoy your shower," he said, watching her leave with a smile.

When thirty minutes passed, The Doctor had torn apart the room a bit more, but had managed to find the last piece to complete his outfit: a big, red bow tie. Afterwards, he found himself a good book on quantum physics and rested on the bed, actually falling asleep from exhaustion after a little bit. His fez fell off the bed, plopping on the floor. Arya would probably have to shake his shoulder to wake him up.

(Cute haircut by the way. ^_^ )

(( Hrm, I'm going to ask Rainbow if he wants to continue this Murder Game. There are only three people still roleplaying - I'm anticipating the arrival of my Star Wars themed Murder event. ))

(I don't think I'm gonna be in this one anymore anyway. School just started and I'm completely lost on what's going on. I'll wait for the star wars one.)

@JayJay
// oh yeah I luv luv luv it :D

Arya entered the room the Doctor was in and smiled when she saw him asleep.

Walking over silently, she picked up the book he was reading and looked inside it.

It didn't take her long to realize that this wasn't the kind of story she was looking for.

This was probably one of those long, smart writings without any dragons or knights in them.

The kind of book people loved to read while sitting in quiet, dull libraries filled with more books.

She frowned at the sleeping man, she hadn't thought he would read things this boring.

Noticing the fez on the floor, she bent over and picked it up, then gently placed it on the Doctor's head.

Arya didn't want to wake him up.

Whatever it was he did when that light was shining from him, she knew it was hard on him.

She decided to let the man sleep for now, leaving the room and finding the library to look for a book she would enjoy.

//Dang I'd like to continue this one if only more people in it would start being active! Everyone involved should be PMed or something. xD And maybe if we had a Co-Game Master to help out around here during the times Rainbow is too busy to come up with ideas and be trusted to boost morale. If we try those two things and there's still only like 2-3 people rping then yeah, it might be better to switch over to the Star Wars one. :/

The Doctor remained asleep for quite a while--an hour or longer--completely out like a light. His extremely active mind, which was always ticking like insanely fast clockwork, had finally given out for a spell. Even though he was as energetic as a live wire, even the quirky time lord himself couldn't always keep going.

He eventually woke up, rolling his shoulders back and stretching. "I fell asleep? Wow, that's new." He chuckled and got off the bed.

He straightened his fez and bow tie before strolling out of the room, heading off to explore.

"Arya was right! This place is boring!" He cried, eventually wandering into the library.

"Arya, are you in here!" He called out, walking over to the book shelves to start examining books. His eyes widened.

Wait! The Sphinx had given him a flash in his mind of where the cure could be found. It was in a book... Maybe he could find the book, or at least figure out where it could be inside a library.

"I'm brilliant," he said quietly to himself, looking around.

@JayJay

@JayJay
Arya sat in the library room, on a comfortable leather chair she soon found out she could recline.

In her hands was a book, not too thick and with a picture of a creepy-looking house on it.

The Guardians, it said on the cover, as well as Andrew Pyper.

She had been reading the entire time the doctor was asleep.

She was so caught up in the story in fact, that she didn't even noticed the doctor enter.

Her eyes were fixed on the pages, her mouth half open.

When the doctor called out for her, she let out a small yelp and dropped the book.

"... Seven hells..." she sighed to herself.

"Gods, you surprised me."

Arya looked at the Doctor.

"You look a lot better. I hope you slept well."

Hearing Arya's voice, The Doctor made his way over to her, finding her reclining in a chair. He grinned, holding a book in his hand.

"Oh I feel just marvelous!" He exclaimed, spinning in a circle. He then jumped in place and kicked his feet together before opening up his book. He licked one of his fingers and began to leaf through the pages of the book.

"I slept good! Energized and ready to go! How've you been? Good? Good! New hair I see? That's lovely! Now you just need some new clothes! Are you ready to come with me and get them?! I also may have figured out a way to find the cure to the shadow virus so I wanted to look into and..."

He started rambling a bit too faster for a moment, before extending his hand to her, offering for them to leave. The Doctor was energized and ready to go. Now that he had rest, he was ready to get busy and do some things!

Lia gasped when Natsu punched the dog off herself, rushing over to Renegade. "What the heck is wrong with you?! Don't do things like that!"

Renegade then growled and turned on Lia, jumping on her to attack her. He sunk his teeth into her neck, probably about to do some real damage if he wasn't pulled away.

Arya couldn't help but laugh.

And she thought this Doctor was too energetic even before he had slept.

A smile stayed on her lips as she watched the man talking.

She tried to respond to his questions, but she simply couldn't get many words in.

"Oh I've been--... Yes, I found this--... Okay, I'm r--.."

Arya gave up trying to speak.

She giggled, finding it funny how he kept rambling on.

"Alright, alright, calm down!" she smiled.

Getting up from her chair and putting her book on it, she stretched and walked to him.

"I'm all ready! I can't wait to find out what kind of clothing girls wear in this world."
