Fantasy Monster Cafe

Wilhelm smiled at Nicholas, "Don't be so sure my boy. Everyone has a diamond shining in their past, some have multiple ones each shinier than the last. I'm certain there's something in your life that makes for a good story. As for others being immortal, you'd have to ask them. If you'd like I could call Heremy back over and you two could get to talking a bit more? Of course, you'd have to be prepared for more flirting from him."

Wilhelm looked at Jeremy, "I'd like my usual please, and if you only flirt with those you like, you must like everyone you meet. You do remember Roger right? Poor lad got scared when you put the moves on him"

"Xeren, over here!" Aspen called, looking wide eyed at the monstrous pile of food from across the room. Being a nymph, she didn't know that much about sweets, nor the proper amount a child was supposed to limit herself to. But sweet lavender, that was a colossal, syrupy plate of food. Aspen looked at Livi with a slight twinge of concern, but ultimately decided it wasn't her place to say anything.

Remembering Wolfgang had asked for coffee, Aspen reached for the coffee grounds under the counter and quickly began to prepare an expresso for her coworker, keeping her attention on Levi and the rest of the cafe. She noted the presence of a few regulars this evening, the cafe was going to get quite interesting, she could tell.

"I am well, thank you for asking Xeren." She replied. It never ceased to amuse her how the man could be polite one moment and go to shouting out orders the next second. She shook her head at the 'more is better' but as long as the customer liked it, there was no reason to chastise Xeren for the seeming fact that there was more chocolate then pancake in that mix. She couldn't help the soft chuckle that escaped her as he called out the order.

"Must you always holler that way? You very well know Livi came in and ordered it for herself, the hyperactive little mutt." She said this in a very loving voice- well as loving as Sarya had ever been heard to be. She was truly quite fond of the customers who came in and the people she worked with. "If you'd like, I can bring it over to her." She added. "Considering that is my job, after all."

Nicholas kept glancing between Jeremy and Wilhelm, trying to focus on what Wilhelm was saying but remembering the teasing threat that the serpent man had given. He flushed before shaking his head and returning his attention to Wilhelm. "I could see how that could have been offensive." He murmured in agreement.

"I-Immortal?" He sputtered, shaking his head. "That is quite the difference." He agreed. "Are all creatures immortal or do Lamia and other creatures have life spans, like humans do?"

When Wilhelm inquired after his life, he shook his head. "I'm sure my life appears quite dull in comparison to what you have lived through, and what the other beings in this building have done. In fact, I'm actually quite boring." His voice continued to shrink in on itself against his will. He felt so inferior to the creatures around him.
Ooo yes please, my arachnid lovely. .uhh I mean" he went red completely, as he had a slight crush on the arachnid, something about her black shiny body and unique appearence made him.....strange.

Looked "one second aspen I forgot bacon and gummy bears"

Lovely? Did I hear him correctly?

Sarya looked at the living doll with questioning eyes, catching the flush that had spread across his cheeks and noticing that her own cheeks had warmed considerably. "I'll wait until you get the bacon and gummy bears completed." She added, remaining in her curled position on the wall- perfectly content not to move until she needed to. Remembering Nicholas, Sarya sighed. Aspen may not have heard her earlier... which meant she was going to have to move.

"Aspen, if you could get the black coffee for Nicholas as well..." She reminded, straining to see the beautiful nymph of a girl while she worked on a coffee for someone else. She returned her attention to Xeren, gaze curious as she watched him. Lovely... she had never been called that before. It put Xeren in a new light for her, and she couldn't help the fanged smile she gave him while she watched him work.

"Are you alright Jeremy?" Nicholas asked, noticing that the man looked rather disgruntled and feeling like he had something to do with that. His attention continued to flicker between Jeremy and Wilhelm, wondering who this Roger person was. Ok, so there was a spike of envy but he very well knew that Jeremy flirted with a lot of the guests. Wilhelm made a good point that perhaps Jeremy did just like everyone. He still appreciated the attention the Lamia gave to him, at any rate.

Returning back to his and Wilhelm's earlier discussion, he thought back to his life. "I truly believe the most interesting aspect of my life was when I stumbled across this cafe." He said softly. "But perhaps... I mean, not everyone has 7 siblings to battle with and two standoffish parents that want little to do with their kids. I don't really keep in touch with them anymore, to be honest. I've been studying medicine in my spare time... I'd like to become a doctor, but for now I have been working on my degree to be a therapist. My interests keep changing as I continue through life.. when I was young I wanted to be a writer, and as I grew older I found I wanted to help people. At first I thought helping would be helping through mental traumas and the like but now I want to heal, too. I have too many big dreams and not enough life to fulfill them all."

At first I thought helping would be helping through mental traumas and the like but now I want to heal, too. I have too many big dreams and not enough life to fulfill them all."
Idiot idiot' he thought to himself, why

..he had gone 2 maybe 3 months giving no indication he liked her, gone like smoke. He felt embarrassed and stupid, "I mean...why would some one like her...love or even like a thing like me...." he stated at his hands, due to him being a doll he couldn't feel pain, nor heat, or cold...and yet....he felt warm inside.

Jeremys tail slammed loudly on the floor "Roger didn't understand and he wasn't willing to either, why did you bring him up?" he hissed angrily, clearly very displeased by his comment before turning to Nicholas and doing his best to look as un phased as possible "I am fine little mouse, enjoy yourself." he then slithered away to give Wilhelm's order to Xeren. "Xeren! The person who says too much wants his regular order!" The lamia yelled.

Xeren suddenly snapped back to reality "huh what...o..oh right" he nodded breathing to calm himself. "No technical to dwell just work as normal...maybe she'll forget"

He begins to make the usual....however he seemed distracted.

"Oh right! My apologies Miss Sarya!" Aspen called, scolding herself for being so forgetful. She had to start making a list of orders sometime to help her keep track of who ordered what! Drinking the dark aroma of coffee, she poured two mugs of freshly made coffee.

Aspen poured the regular amount milk and sugar into Jeremy's mug and left Nicholas's black. She then proceeded to put them on the counter and blow a soldiery note on her pan flute. "Wolfgang, Nicholas! Your coffees are ready!"

Wilhelm smacked his hand into the table, "Rigt there, did you see it? Right there is an interesting story. Not many people with the same background as you would've chosen to help people. You are interesting, you were neglected by your parents and fought with your siblings. And rather than have one dream, you have many. You have chosen the path of what I call, 'The Achiever'. Which basically means that you will never be entirely sure what to do, but your path will always be the same. No matter what you finally decide to do in life, you won't be satisfied until you unlock your true potential. You want to help people? First you must be selfish and help yourself a little. I can tell you like Jeremy, and he likes you as well. Sure he may flirt a lot, but he's very loyal. Should you ever decide to date him, just know that he will get jealous of other people. After all, he may be cold blooded by nature, but his blood is also hot with passion."

Sarya waited patiently for Aspen to make the coffee, going up to the rafters to think about what Xeren had said up until Aspen called the orders ready. She lowered herself from a delicate thread that didn't look capable of supporting her weight, yet did, and collected up Nicholas's coffee before bringing it over to him. He gave her a nod and a pleasant smile before turning away once more.

"Thank you, Aspen." Sarya said, touching the girls shoulder fondly before moving past her.

She made it back to the kitchen, waiting for Livi's order to be completed. She went back to her usual spot on the wall, watching Xeren work with an interest even more keen then the last time she had watched him. She was still trying to puzzle out the sincerity in his words. It was nice to be acknowledged as lovely, she found. It made her feel a lot less disliked.

Nicholas flushed a dark red when Wilhelm jumped the gun all the way to dating, when Nicholas was still trying to figure out flirting. He shook his head- Jeremy may be loyal but he didn't seem the type to settle on just one person. So instead of continuing on that topic, he pushed it back to his life. It did sadden him when Jeremy left, of course, but that may have also been because the serpent seemed exceptionally upset and Nicholas felt even more at fault for it. He wanted to get up and follow but felt like that would be overstepping boundaries.

"So what about you? What's your life been like? Does it bother you to know you'll continue to live... while friends and family die around you?" So that last question probably was overstepping boundaries but Nicholas was just blurting questions at this point, not really thinking what he was saying through because he was concerned about Jeremy.

Wilhelm stopped smiling and had a look of sadness on his face, "Aye, it gets lonely when you're the last man standing. I've lived a great life so far, and God only knows how long it'll go on for. Which is why I envy those who live normal lives. You don't have to be afraid of making friends or falling in love, or seeing your child die of old age while you never change a bit. That's why I refuse to fall in love or make friends, I won't taunt others. Hell, if it weren't for this Cafe I'd never even show up in the same place twice. This is the closet place I have to a home. But that's all the depressing stuff, over the years I've met a lot of famous people, some good and some very bad."

Xeren begun to think hard 'hmm oh I'm a fool' he went to Sarya and sheepishly held a box "uhh f-for you" he smiled, bowing going back to work, being a cook the aroma of baked goods filled her sense of smell.

Jeremy huffed impatiently at the counter "How long till that's done Xeren?" He snapped, ordinarily Jeremy was a very polite person and cheery so his sudden anger clearly signified he didn't mean to be so rude towards the other.

"Where do you find the time to cook for everyone, yet still bring me gifts?" Sarya asked, accepting the box and feeling her eyes shutter closed as a wave of delicious smells rolled over her senses. At Jeremy's snap, the spider woman felt a flicker of defense for Xeren's sake, but knew the doll could fight his own battles.

"This is the plate for Wilhelm, correct? And this is Livi's? Allow me to take it out to them, if they are." She asked, pointing to the plates he had been working on while setting the box gifted to her aside. She would look inside and find out what kind of goodies she had been given later. She knew whatever they were, they would be scrumptious and greatly appreciated. "Also, Xeren?" She added, her voice dropping. "Thank you."

Y-your welcome" smiles again, he got back to work. He begun to nearly finish the food now, just plating it up.

(Also bbl am charging phone)

As soon as Xeren had the food plated, Sarya brought it out to Jeremy. "Jeremy, you seem a bit tense. You're not truly allowing Wilhelm's words to get to you?" She inquired, touching his shoulder softly before gesturing to the plated food. "Xeren has worked his magic as he always does, so here are the requested orders." She said with a smile. Her gaze moved over the irritated serpent with critical eyes. "For my sake, dear Jeremy, please don't yell at Xeren. Rushing perfection can create scandals, as you know." She added, her smile staying soft and tender as ever.

Wolfgang trudged out of the back room, grabbing the coffee from Aspen and chugged the entire thing "Thank you Aspen. Now about those jobs I need you to do, I'm gonna need you to order me some ingredients online and get some ingredients that some of our more special clients will require."

Jeremy took the plate and frowned "I did not mean to yell sarya... Wilhelm brought up Roger and implied I could not commit to one person as a mate.It upset me."

"I know you didn't, and I'm sure Xeren knows as well. He's very mellow about these things." She said, nodding. Her touch was feather light on his arm, her voice low as she continued to speak to him. "If you believe you can commit to a mate, then Wilhelm's words shouldn't bother you. As far as Roger goes, you know the immortal is purposely tugging at your strings. He took a seat at Nicholas' table to antagonize you... I know you're better then that, Jeremy. Don't let the story teller win." She gave him another one of her keen smiles, before patting his arm fondly and waving him off in as playful a manner as Sarya could muster.

Xeren hoped sarya enjoyed the treats, he had made her some gingerbread spiders, with milk chocolate eyes, red icing fangs and hourglass. "Heh I hope...she likes them...."

In slow motion xeren handed the breakfast "heeeeeereeeeeeee youuuuuuuuu goooooo~" time seemed to slow, as niasha saw the little tiny terror about to get her sugar on sugar with a side of sugar breakfast.

O...ok" he got a smaller plate and a towel, he then looked sad as he felt like the boss would shout. He wished that he wasn't so useless at times, others knew he weren't...but like a kid he felt like he was always in trouble.

Jeremy nodded at sarya and attempted to calm down some as he made his way towards Wilhelm and Nicholas. He set down the plate and bowed "Enjoy your meal sir." He said as lightly as possible before slithering past Nicholas on his way to the door in case he needed to greet more people, tail moving to wrap around Nicholas' leg and letting go at the last second in his own way of saying 'You did nothing wrong' to the other man.

"Yes sir! Livi, would you like to-" Aspen looked up to see that Levi had run off to go get her dinner. She smiled and sighed, guessing it was time to brave the internet on her own. She didn't much care for the twinkling lights of the computer, the unnatural light hurt her eyes and gave her headaches if she stayed on for too long. But if Wolfgang needed her to order supplies, it was her job to do so. Reaching under the counter, she pulled out an old laptop and powered it up. It was a dusty, slow thing, but it worked for it's intended purpose. Aspen reached for a glass of water to ward off an impending throb in her head and began to work.

The first site she went to was relatively normal, selling coffee beans and equipment in bulk. (Tiny versions of the real plant could only yield so much, surviving on the nymph's magic to live in the middle of England!) After placing a few orders of beans (as well as a few extra tea strainers), Aspen booted up a special email service and checked to assure that the month's orders of blood bags (Which she poured into wine bottles to make the humans feel better) were coming on time that night. The entire business was something the young lady would rather not dwell on, so she quickly confirmed the wretched stuff arrival (What was the appeal of blood anyway?) and moved on to the pressing matter of fresh meat.

The carnivores among their costumers ran through it quickly and no one really ever challenged them on the matter. (Most creatures valued the use of their limbs.) And when the blood ran out, those who drank it found themselves turning to sucking the vitals out of meat, which just caused a huge headache for everyone. Aspen made sure to order extras of both this time around.

Moving on, the wood nymph ordered fruit, vegetables, an obscene amount of candy (Livi) and alcohol. (She made sure to keep wine in stock, sometimes the humans needed a quick drink to comfortably grasp the situation.) Finally, she wrote a note for Naisha asking him to get some mice and other live creatures for the customers who survived on live prey. That was the only thing she couldn't get herself, the one time she tried to she was nearly reduced to tears. Blood bags were one thing, actually knowing where the poor things came from and knowing their fate was another. At last, she shut off the computer and sat down, fingers pressed to her temple. "Ow..."

Aspen opened her eyes and sat up. "Of course she can eat here. And don't worry about me, it's just a headache. They don't last long. " The nymph gave Naisha a weak smile as she moved to wipe down her workspace. She was going to need to clean the service counter as well, after Livi was done with it. "You have your hands full huh? I'm really glad you two are here though, it helps a lot."
