Fandom Mobile Suit Gundam: The Uncertain Century

Also, ah, a new day. Well it's actually still the same day but

I wasn't aware that we actually started IC up, so I'm very sorry for my apparent inactivity.
I'll get to work right away!
Oh that's alright, I apologize for not making it clear it was up. I was kind of horribly sleep deprived when I put this forum up.

I was thinking that meeting up at an excavation site would help kickstart the plot and make it easier for Beth to jump in since the other two characters are a pariah and a vagrant.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Maybe Beth could be delivering groceries to the site for the workers there? Digging isn't exactly easy work.

Excellent. Things are going wonderfully! I'm really enjoying your posts Quiet, they've really helped me out of a writing rut I've been having lately and are pushing me to make better posts.

Now in regards to what we'll find in the trench, since it's the big place and there's three active characters so far I think uncovering four different 'items' would be the most convenient for us in terms of keeping the pace going.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Tem Ray circuit got dug up as one of the possible items. Speaking of which, IBO tech isn't included right?

That's what I was forgetting! This thing is nearly 1200 entries long and I still felt I'd forgotten something. I'll add the Tem Ray circuit now, thanks for reminding me.

Some of the units from Iron Blood Orphans are included, yes. Why do you ask? I know the series isn't entirely wrapped up so there might be some unknown factors about the units, but I didn't think it would be too much of an issue. If you think I should remove them from the list please let me know why and I'll consider it.

Ah, it's just that it the calendar it used wasn't mentioned on the intro post, though now that I think about I can't recall the formal name it used. Post-Disaster or something? Correct Century from Turn A wasn't there either, but given its status I decided not to think too much into it. I find the Graze suits pretty charming, maybe one of my favorite grunt suits.

Oh well the introduction did say "These are just a few of the names of eras long since past." so the ones I listed aren't all of them.

IBO units and some of the ships are included on the list, though I did leave the original units from the Correct Century off mainly because most of the original units in the series were Moonrace units (save for the OP Turn-A of course) and as WEIRD as the arrangement and order we'll probably find weapons, items, and mobile suits in during excavations I honestly felt it wouldn't make sense to find them on Earth.

When/if we get into space and start doing stuff there then I'll probably add them to the list.

Really? Honestly, I was coming in with the expectation of being the worst writer in the group. I do appreciate that though!

I'm having a lot of fun with this so far!

I'm so happy to hear that!

Also, since we're all at the dig site and the next big thing is unearthing stuff I finally get to roll on the 'loot' sheet to see what suits/items that get uncovered. Now if you guys aren't comfortable not seeing the rolls (I can't do it here since this list is stupidly big) I will screenshot the thing I use to rolls so you know I'm not just making up results.

Also, for the sake of making sure everyone gets at least something I'm bumping up the number of things I'm rolling for to five. It's a lot but since we're starting out it's fine.

Annnnnnd here we go. We found:

RMS-156 Griffin

AMS-119S Geara Doga Kai

GF13-050NSW Nobel Gundam

Sonic Sword

Rocket Booster

Wow! Looks like we got some great stuff! Also I find it somewhat amusing we found a Geara Doga model when Beth suspect Iris was digging up a Zaku. I'll describe the discovery of this stuff in my next post and then put up all the detailed information about them in the 'items' list.

IF IT'S GOT THE ZAKU MONO-EYE, IT COUNTS AS A ZAKU IN MY BOOK.

Also, nice! I'm alright with the Griffin, but admittedly I was praying to the gods above that I'd roll the Qubeley for Queen Haman. I'm also laughing my ass off imagining Hart piloting the Nobel Gundam, it's like watching him turn into Sailor Moon.

Qubeley and Queen Mansa are on the list, though they're pretty rare. I'm amazed the Noble even showed up to be perfectly honest. Though yes seeing Hart pilot the Nobel would be absolutely hilarious. I would however like Iris to claim it, unless you guys have a problem with that. Also you and Gassie can decide on if you want the Griffin or Gera Doga Kai, it's not a set thing since this is kind of a big dig for the group.

Oh, oops. I thought they were colour-coded. I thought the green meant the Griffin went to Beth. My bad!

Personally, I'm not too set on either one. I know Beth would enjoy the Zaku feel of the Doga Kai, but that's just a personal taste. I think I'll let Gas have first claim on either one!

Oh no I color coded them to try and show their rarity. I wouldn't assign units like that, that wouldn't be fun for anyone (even if I would get a laugh at a moody guy like Hart prancing around in what's basically a Sailor-Moon Gundam).

I'll go with the Griffin. Since it's a mass-production suit and only has a few differences with the Marasai, it should be the easiest out of the three to maintain. As Hart's a Newtype, it'd be better for Beth to have the Geara Doga's buffed up defense. Also, it must be destiny since the Nobel Gundam was from Neo-Sweden. The possibility of a functional Berserker System in the Nobel worries me though.

Yeah I think that's a good set up, Griffon for Hart, Geara Doga Kai for Beth, and Noble Gundam for Iris. Also yeah I won't lie I'm amazed the Noble Gundam showed up, it's really rather fitting. As for the Berserker system, while in canon it was an externally triggered system I was thinking of having a modified on board system just to complicate the Noble Gundam's usage.

For now, equipping the Nobel Gundam with the Sonic Sword (Hellion equipment?) would probably be the best way to maximize Iris's potential since she's got natural piloting skills and a Gundam with Mobile Trace. I'm assuming that the standard armaments of the suits we excavate aren't included, correct?

Yeah normally excavated suits only come with their mounted/fixed armaments but neither the Griffon or the Doga really have those. So I think it might be better if one of you guys take the Sonic Sword since the Noble Gundam was pretty much designed for most-unarmed combat. Also the Sonic Sword is from a Hellion, good catch!

Quiet, you should have the final word on the Sonic Sword. Personally, it'd probably be better on the GDK since it still has its shield. For now, the Griffin's spiked pauldrons will have to do. Since Hart's keeping watch, this would also probably a good time to get some Beth and Iris interactions in.

Well, alright then. You're probably right about giving it to GDK, so I'll take it if there's no objections. I do know that the Griffin's got the same mounted whip weapon that the Gouf had in U.C. So, hopefully it's all balanced.

I'll get to work on that right now, too! I am juggling some work right now though, so bear with me for a lil' bit.

The Griffon isn't equipped with a whip weapon, at least to my knowledge anyway. Some sources say it has a "Sea Serpent" which is a wire-guided grappling shocking weapon used to deliver crippling electrical shocks to enemy mobile suits. However that's a hand held weapon and not a fixed one like the Gouf's heat whip.

It isn't? I honestly thought the heat rod and the Sea Serpent were the same thing. I've got some reading to do on Mobile Suit tech now...

Yep, handheld. The Gundam-Face upgrade also means that it lost the Marasai's vulcans. It's fine though, I'm sure if we get into a fight we can loot a weapon off one of the combatants.

Yeah there will be loot to find on enemies, provided you don't obliterate them of course. Also I've finished up the explanations and descriptions of the Griffin, Geara Doga Kai, and Noble Gundam. Now I'm gonna try to get something to eat.

So did you include the masks of all the Char Clones as possible excavation artifacts? The thought of some rich eccentric paying ludicrous amounts of money for a multi-timeline collection of masks is amusing.
