Welcome, all comers. This will be the catch-all thread for any OOC discussion, ideas, or memes you may have.
Lore tab will be coming soon; in the meantime, I'm happy to answer questions and clarify things about the setting here. Feel free to ask away.

Hey!

So what kind of society is rhe Abram Dynasty government wise?
The Abram Dynasty is a military government; offices of power are held by soldiers and associates of soldiers (family, friends, etc). In theory, offices are hereditary, but in practice, there's a lot more nepotism about it these days. Military bias also extends into everyday life; an informal caste system exists between the privileged "soldier" class and the underprivileged "everyone else" class.

What are the technological restrictions for building a scrapper Mobile suit?
All mobile infantry units produced under the Abram Dynasty are cross-compatible with each other, but due to lack of innovation are almost wholly incompatible with and vastly inferior to mobile infantry units smuggled in from other colonies. Not to mention that cross-construction is illegal without the government's express permission. That said, it is still possible to build a scrapper suit; it would just be very difficult.

OKay sick! That's good, I was thinking of a character who was the disgraced illegitimate son of a military official!

I see. Will any of the basic frames for the mobile infantry units bear resemblance to a certain cyclopian MS?

Milling over possible OC ideas as the lore page is detailed, one thing I know for sure is I aim for a red head.

So my scrapper MS custom is gonna be called the Astartes. I'm working on making an irl gunpla version of it to showcase in my character's profile. As for how they are with the scrappers to begin with, I'm thinking he survived a massacre which caused the death of everyone he knew, as well as the destruction of his home. He joined the scrappers to work up his way through the ranks, so he can build his own secret ms to be able to get back at the Titans for it.

You're absolutely free to do this, but Titan is a moon of Saturn where people live, not a group to get back at. That kind of Titan is somewhere else.

Lore tab's been updated with some new info for all you aspiring Ashura Corps members. Info on the sealed Gundams should be up later tonight, and then hopefully, the CS tab.

Question, are there Newtypes or any adjacent (such as IBO’s whiskers). If so, are there Psycho frames or the like?

This isn’t for anything character related, I just want to get a sense of how this diverges from what I know about Gundam and it’s many universes.

What's going on with the rest of the solar system in the setting? Are Titan and its colonies just their own independent fiefdom?

About the closest thing it gets here to special mobile suit/pilot interfacing is when the true Gundams sync with their pilots' willpower and fighting spirit through Nebulous Hot-Blooded Anime Powers™ that have been lost to history since they were sealed away. Aside from that, effective mobile suit piloting relies solely on the pilot's own skill; no psychic evolution or spinal implant required.

As was mentioned elsewhere, humanity has set up colonies throughout the solar system all the way up to Saturn's moons. Titan has answered mostly to itself and done its own thing ever since the Abram Dynasty was founded and the moon closed itself off to rebuild and restructure. Now that it's opened back up, people are starting to realize that even their fellow far-fringe Saturn-orbiters have developed much faster thanks to open trade with the rest of humanity, and that Titan is way behind everyone else in terms of technology and society.

So, like the Zero System from Wing?

Are there Minovsky particles or AHAB waves? Essentially, is there anything that discourages urban warfare or brings combat to a micro-level?

I noticed that several factions are listed and open to the players, how is this meant to be rp'ed out? Sandbox, guided direction, etc? Also, on note of the factions, how will players "come together" so to speak? Or are we going to potentially end up with pvp situations?

Good question! I... haven't thought about it yet; I'll get back to you on this one.

The best way to describe how this RP is going to play out is "mostly sandbox." There are some pre-existing factions and a general history for y'all to draw on, but there's also plenty of gaps that y'all can fill with whatever you like- other scrapper bands, PMC's and pirate crews, landmarks, cities, even specific historical events. As far as plot goes, the only real guiding plot point is that the Kameyama Troupe discovers a Gundam's resting place; how they do it and what comes from it are entirely up to y'all. Once the RP proper starts, I'll sprinkle in some extra whispers of current events on Titan that y'all can pursue or ignore in favor of your own quests. There will also be lots of opportunities for PvP stuff, if that's something y'all want to pursue.

Hmm I see, unfortunately Sandboxes aren't much of my thing, though I know someone that really likes gundam and may be keen on that PVP aspect, I'll pass it along to them. Best of luck with recruitment/game running.

I too am not so keen on sandbox roleplays. Nothing against it. I will still attempt to participate but I would prefer to do a guided narrative.

I personally like the freedom with sandbox and I think so long as plot point options are presented and there is a slight network it should work.

No worries, mate. Thanks for sticking around as long as you did. Hope you find what you're looking for.

That's essentially what's going to happen for this RP. As was mentioned, once the RP proper is up I'll begin dangling some potential plot threads, and y'all can decide whether you want to tug on them and see where they lead. There'll also be some NPC's present to accompany/guide your characters on their quests who might offer some additional potential directions to go.
