Tristan's Team
"Less yapping and terrible masculine posturing and more smashing!" Tristan yelled at Kirill as he stabbed yet another one of the damned things nomming painfully on his legs. Honestly, this was not the way he wanted to go out; death by these gross skull spider things. And after seeing one latch onto Jasper's face he definitely did not want to end up having his skull detached and used as a mobile home for the awful things either.
Thankfully Kirill was being helpful and assisted Jasper by pulling off the one trying to use his skull as a new home. The duo managed to successfully rip if from his face, though Jasper was sure to now have a terrible headache, a few wounds to his scalp from the legs digging in, and a horrible taste in his mouth he wouldn't ever forget. Kirill however is the next unlucky target of a face hug as the moment he finished his words one jumps and latches onto his face firmly and like with Jasper was intent on re-homing into his skull.
As Celena takes note of the target Jasper has identified launching itself towards Sang, the sword she threw hit its mark and thankfully missed Sang herself. The sword flies through the air and then strikes the stone wall before it clattered to the floor noisily with a dying screech which set off the remaining ones into a frenzy. One immediately jumped and latched onto Celena's face, holding itself tightly against her face as it went to invade her mouth. ( Thatguynameded Celena beat you to the punch, or well, stab.)
This frenzy mode made them all the more aggressive to the team with Tristan being knocked down by a wave of them and having to choose to protect his face or his body. He opted to protect his face as they swarmed over him. "Someone find that skull!" He shouted out in grunted pain as he stabbed and slashed frantically.
Though Brass had meant to help Sang, Celena had beat him to it, though he did save Sang from another that had moved to jump at her. The one he held squirmed angrily as it struggled in his grasp and cried out as it felt the skull suffer some small cracks.
Elora's Team
The creature's golden glowing eyes turned towards Don as he extended his hand and offered it a precious memory of his own. It stared at him silently for a long moment as it skimmed through his memories. It glanced back at the nervous Xaira for a moment and then back to Don as if debating which offer it wanted to take. As much as the female dragonkin had been so naive to accept her offer without negotiating or terms, and as much as someone with lovestruck memories were delicious...
Pining memories of puppy love could at times cause one a stomach ache so compared to Don's memories of love, awe, and wonderment, Xaira's memories looked less appetizing. "Very well, the deal is struck. I desire your first precious memory of awe and wonderment of the land above the water. In exchange I will tell you the secret of my tunnel so that you may leave it."
And of course Caddigan had to open his mouth and mention a game. Elora quickly went over to him and slapped a hand over his sarcastic troublemaker of a mouth and gave him a glare that promised a painful end if he kept at this. "You. Need. To. Shut. Up." She sharply hissed out each word to him, and to add on the emphasis of her being sick of his smart ass self she let him see her eyes go entirely pitch black and dark veins appear and pulse under her lower eyelid.
Qerres then additionally seemed to through her own lot into the creature's choices being offered for it to consume. But it had already decided upon taking Don's. As much as it perhaps could have persisted to take multiple members to equal Xaira's, this grouping of individuals had very little tasty things to eat between them in comparison. It also severely doubted they would be willing to each give a memory.
"Do you consent to the agreement, one of the deep waters?" the creature asked Don. With Don's approval the creature would pluck the memory from his mind. He'd never be able to regain that memory for it wasn't suppressed, but taken and consumed by the memory eater. Don would have a feeling of loss should he try to recall the memory, a gap between events. Even as he would later recall this moment and try to think back upon what he had given, it with bring forth no knowledge other than it had been given in exchange.
"Now then, you silly things. Simply turn around and place your hand against the wall and you'll find your way from my domain," the creature laughed. Elora released Caddigan, but gave him a warning look to zip his mouth shut before she went to place her hand on the wall... only for it to touch nothing. There was another path on the other side of the opening in the wall which had been cleverly hidden by an optical illusion that the stone made seem solid.
"We're continuing, be alert," Elora ordered, taking the lead again as she looked left then right. "You want to go left," the creature answered the unasked question. Elora knew better than to trust the thing, but it had struck a deal and it was required to adhere to it or it would lose what it had gained. So, left Elora went and down the enclosed path which after a ten minute walk opened up into a large space and they were greeted by a looming wall of stairs they would have to ascend.
