Mirrors and Clocks

(LXsongbird no i couldnt either it sucked)

"I hope its a good cafeteria haha I'm so hungry. I could so go for a cheeseburger right now. Something greasy." She sighed as she rubbed her belly. The two girls left the courtyard and headed for the cafeteria.

"So what kind of jobs did you scope out while I was gone?"

(I feel like an idiot for missing your interaction with Largo, Lx. My bads :< Won't happen again. & I also had the "server not responding" thing earlier today but it was more like, "cannot be found". :\ )

"Dominick. Sorry I'm kind of out of it. It would be awesome if you joined..and I forgot to introduce myself, it's Largo...my name" She watched intrigued as he demonstrated his power and the stripe faded from his jacket. "That's cool. I like that." She stated before turning her attention to an irritated Dmytri. "Here." She went in her pocket and pulled out the crunched request slip, "Keep that safe for me." She handed him the the yellow, red cornered paper before walking purposefully into the room. "Leave him, we don't need him after all." She smiled apologetically to Julia and the others, indicating the paralyzed Liam. "Anyways, we've got a portal to catch."

"Rrrggggooo." Liam groaned and stared Largo down out of the corner of his eye when she entered the room. He was fully about to approach Julia and stroke that fabulous field of green when his entire body stiffened to the point where he thought he'd turned to stone. What is she some kind of Medusa? He theorized to himself. His hand was stuck in it's crawling position mid-air. He considered stopping time, but there really wouldn't be a point when he was frozen like this....How tricky. "Nnnggggh." He groaned again in an accepting tone. It was no matter, he would get her back later....

Julia raised her eyebrow when Largo spoke and then blinked, her eyes turning back to normal as she felt that strange feeling that spread through her body slowly disappear. She turned her head to Largo and unfolded her hands as she shrugged "Ok" She smiled before looking back at Liam "Nice meeting you" She smiled and stuffed her hands on her shorts' pocket as she pushed herself softly off the wall.

(Yah, it happened to me too :/ )

((LOL wait, is he still paralyzed? Kinda need tah know. XDDD or is it because she doesn't have that feeling anymore and her eyes are normal that the paralyze stopped?))

(Yeah it stopped ^^ Was actually wondering if I had to write it or not XP Would do so next time!)

(same :0 sorry for not replying for a few days)

Jack watched the humorous scene involving Liam and Julia. He almost cracked a smile when Julia completely turned him still. Almost. He walked over to Liam and knocked on his head to check if he was okay, but even his hair was stiffened like stone. Woah.

Assuming this was a special gift Julia had tucked under her sleeve, he turned to Largo. "Oh. One sec." He strode over to the room he had set down all of his luggage in and pulled a bunch of lumpy, dented armor out, as well as various sharp pieces of metal out of the pack. Wonder if anyone would've guessed how heavy that backpack was. Hah. He kept his hoodie off and shoved himself through the awkwardly-fitting suit of armor and walked back out. He didn't look ridiculous, rather, he looked like he had been a soldier from medieval times...

...that had been hit by a truck.

"None of you have any.. bionic parts, do you?" He asked, hoping that the answer would be no.

A black limousine pulled up to the gates of the Swordsmith Academy. A few stray students stopped what they were doing and watched to see who would come out.

"But Nikolai..." Ophelia Mesmer pouted as she slithered up close to handsome young man.

"No." He said simply. "Right now, we just watch. Wait..." He said darkly. The white haired Juliet crawled up to the window and looked out.

"I wonder what kind of powers these students have..." She said slyly. Her voice was deeply seductive. Her movements were like liquid. Smooth. She flipped around and looked at Ophelia, her darker haired companion. She crawled towards her and softly put her hands on her shoulders. "Just wait, love." She whispered into her ear. Ophelia backed down and looked at Juliet.

"You are right." She sighed. She looked back at Nikolai. "Shall we then?" Nikolai nodded as he pushed a button on the door. A few moments later the door was opened for them. First Juliet departed from the limo. She looked around at the student body that had gathered in the front. She winked at a random guy. She turned and moved out of the way for Ophelia. It was like she floated out of the limo. Her movements were like they had been synchronized. She looked at Juliet and smirked. She loved the scene that they were causing.

"So much for low profiles." She chuckled as she lifted her hand to her face. She softly bit her thumb as she winked at a girl who was glaring at them. The girl looked away quickly. Then Nikolai. 6'1, 175 lbs, no body fat. He was handsome. The girls in the front noticed this too as their jaws dropped at the site of him. He didnt notice any of them. He walked past the two girls coolly as they followed suit. The limo driver followed them with their luggage in tow. They made their way into the office and got their room keys.

"When will the others be joining us?" Juliet looked over at Nikolai. He nodded.

"Soon."

(what do you think of the intro for these villains?)

((Payton Fenix i like the intro :P very mysterios ono.... and MsTeaTime it's ok xD

also sorry if I'm inconsistent with the names Alyss knows xD it's getting annoying saying "Dmytri's roommate" all the time..))

Dominick smiled at Largo's introduction. He answered the guy in the metal suit, "Last time I checked, no bionic parts in me... Why? Oh, I'm Dominick, and for people who didn't hear I can create illusions and other stuff." He didn't want to have to explain the "other stuff" again. Since it seemed like the group was getting ready to go on the job, so Dominick stepped away from the wall and looked around.

Out of the corner of her eye, Alyss noted the arrival of another person. She watched Liam, as the others called him, talk to and subsequently get paralyzed by Julia. Alyss told Jack, "Nope, I don't have bionic parts either; even if braces count I got mine off a few months ago." She then introduced herself to Dominick, saying, "I'm Alyss; I can use water and ice and do small spells with temperatures."

Julia took off her gaze from Liam to look at Jack "As far as I know no bionic parts either" She nodded as she then glanced at Dominick, who had introduced himself. Now that she had thought about it she hadn't really introduced herself nor her powers to others than Largo and Alyss till now "I'm Julia, a Pyrokinetic" She said simply with a friendly smile on her face, for now leaving out the paralysis out as she had already made a little demonstration with Liam seconds ago.

Dmytri watched as the group collected in the hallway. Pyro-kinetic, an Illusionist, Largo's abilities... wonder what else we have in store?

"Dmytri... Water Manipulator/Summoner." Introductions again... He thought to himself. I guess, since, everything a little "screwy" right now. He still had the ball of paper Largo had given him in his hand. He hadn't read it yet. He, kind of, forgot it was there.

(Everything = awesome)

Largo followed Julia and Alyss out of the room before a cold hand pulled back on her shoulder.

"I'm in little Largo." A silky, conniving voice from the same direction stated. She turned where the hand was pulling on her and glared only slightly into Liam's eyes. "What do we need you for? We already have six members which is all we needed, you'll just be a cut in our pay." She retorted and stepped further out of the room.

"He's an illusionist." He drew on a point that he was certain would grab her attentions. "I know you. You wouldn't risk my company unless you knew my skills would be needed." He continued as if he had already won the argument. "There's no way an illusionist would satisfy a need that someone with my nature fulfills. You know illusion is a defensive power, whereas I am an attacker."

He spit the last word as if insulting her defensive position in their old group. His experience with group missions really did show that he knew what the essentials of a good strategy were, even without knowing the mission. All he needed to know was that he was intended to fill the sixth spot in their group and that Largo was behind the scenes, and he would already know what was needed.

"Fine." She accepted flatly after a short pause. He was right after all, and she was tired of wasting time. She waltzed evenly out of the room and down the hall for the maze of mirrors.

"The name's Liam, only one "L". I'm utterly poisonous with a knack making time. A pleasure." He greeted the group with a vane tone and a wink as he strode between them in the same direction Largo had gone.

Alyss tuned her ear to listen backward when she heard Liam pull Largo back. He seemed very confident and manipulative, and though she couldn't catch all his words, Alyss heard something along the lines of "but I'm an attacker". Did Liam want to join their group, even though six was definitely enough and they had plenty of attackers amongst them? Alyss expected Largo to disagree strongly, but after a few seconds' hesitation, she agreed. After acknowledged Liam's joining the group with a nod in his direction, Alyss pulled Largo aside. Concerned for her, Alyss asked, "Who is he? Why does he want to join our group?" She was going to ask Largo why she let him join the group, but decided against it as she thought it would sound too demanding.

Dmytri stood up from the wall when a guy named Liam emerged from the room. He saw Largo's apparent discomfort and wondered what this guy's deal was. When he stated he was poisonous he couldnt help but wonder how... Maybe its a good thing I'm coming, he thought to himself, my "parlour trick" might come in handy. He walked up to Largo and passed her back the request slip. He let his touch linger on her hand as a gesture of comfort.

"Werewolves, huh?" He smirked and walked back to his previous position. He waited as the group settled.

Nikolai looked at the girls. He watched as they toyed with each others hair as they stood by the fountain. They were attracting alot of attention as he watched groups of students gather.

"Ladies.." He looked at them. They stopped what they were doing and looked back at him, their full attention on him. "I will leave to my room now... Just text." He said as he grabbed his bags from their chauffeur and walked away. He needed time to himself to think about his plan. The girls looked pouty as they nodded. They grabbed their bags and walked away with each other.

"What do you think hes planning?" Ophelia asked Juliet. Juliet turned her attention to her dark haired companion.

"I dont know..." She said softly. They walked to the dormitory in silence. The two girls were rooming together. Thank god, noone else is. They both thought. They approached their room. Room 132. They entered and unpacked. Juliet looked around at the room and sighed deeply.

"Kind of small, isnt it?" Ophelia whined. They werent used to such humble living. Ophelia flopped down on her bed and looked at Juliet. Juliet finished unpacking and walked up to the window and looked out at the scenery. She turned around and walked towards the door.

"Let's go check out the student body." She smirked. They both left the room and stood their looking around the dorms. She noticed a group of people gathering down the hall from them.

"Ooooo..." Ophelia smiled "Look at those yummy students." She skipped behind Juliet, holding onto her shoulder with one hand while biting down on her thumb with the other. Juliet smirked.

"Let's walk by casually..." They walked down the hall, towards the group. When they walked by they made sure to study each one carefully. They walked slowly. Overhearing the conversations, Pyrokinetic.. Illusionist.. Elemental Manipulator/Summoner.. Poisonous.. Ophelia made sure to note what she was hearing.

"Juliet..." Ophelia begged softly.

"Not now, pet." Juliet said softly as they passed the group. The disappeared around the corner and walked down the hall more. They made sure they were far enough from the group to start discussing again.

"Did you hear that, love?" Juliet spoke.

"Yummmy abilities..." Ophelia replied excitedly "I liked the poison one.. and the Elemental."

"The one with the green hair was particularly curious. Also that pink haired one. We'll be sure to keep a close eye on them." She said as they walked out of the dorms.

Dominick glanced to the side and saw two girls, twins, pass them. He thought nothing of it, though there were no other students in the hall. Then, watching the group get on the move after Liam's release from his paralyzed state, Dominick zipped and unzipped his jacket, something he normally did when things were changing or about to begin. Dom fell in stride with the girl with green hair, Julia, and said, "Pyrokinetic? Using fire? That's cool... Do you know what job we're going on, what the pay is?"

Julia raised her eyebrow at Liam's statement and at Largo's unexpected reaction but was soon distracted by Dominick's question. She blinked and her gaze fell on him. She gave him a smile when he complimented her powers and then crossed her arms as she started to walk along the others "Dealing with werewolves. The pay is $900" She explained as she blew her bangs out of her face, they would constantly fall on her eyes but she liked them being long rather than short.

Another limo drew out behind the first one, quickly dropping off two kids. "Thanks for rushing, Mr. Daryl. I didn't want to be especially late for today." The girl gave a little imaginary curtsy.

The first kid was a cute girl. Dressed in fancy wear mixed in with casualness, she seemed to be quite the it girl. She was not. The other boy, a moderately-sized guy, was unusually scary. He wore a purple rabbit hoodie and jeans, both taking a creepified theme. His eyes were a piercing red and yellow, ringed. Over her face were black tattoos, and his neck a thick iron shackle with a chain. He gave the sky a snarl as he exited the limo.

"Buster, let's go join in with the others." The girl gave a mischievous smile. She grabbed the chain around the neck of Buster, the boy, and walked along with him towards the school.

The girl and the boy had both received their room keys, but the girl took both of them for the other. The two then headed down the hall, and saw their colleagues right ahead. "Oh~ Well if it isn't those three~" She sang. "We'd better catch up with them, no?... Buster, take me there."

Buster snarled. He took the girl up and hoisted her above his shoulders with ease. He began to dash through the halls, catching up with the others.

((My mind is somewhere elseee~))

Largo felt Alyss' small gentle hand pull her aside just before she whispered in her ear. Hearing the question, she realized that everyone else was probably mildly aware of the tension between her and Liam. "He and I used to be in a group together." she whispered back, "He's full of himself but manageable. Plus...I have a plan and his unique abilities could help us get this job done a lot faster." By the look in Alyss' eyes she could tell that she was befuddled by Largo's passive decision. "It won't come with a little wear and tear to him...but that's why his deluded comments are balanced by my gratefulness for his pain." She explained and lightly pulled out of Alyss' grip, nodding to reassure her friend.

It was then that Dmytri approached and returned the request slip. When his hand lingered, she felt calmed and smiled appreciatively. She wanted to chuckle at his comment but didn't. Werewolves. It was kind of funny, dangerously funny. She pushed the slip back in her pocket after re-checking the mirror number. They were finally reaching the end of the hall where they would all have to awkwardly smoosh into an elevator. Lower mirror numbers were so high up...

Jack nodded to the reply of each person in the group. "Okay," he said to everyone, then knocking on Largo's thin shoulder, "I'm a human magnet of sorts. Do with that what you will." He strode down the hallway with the rest of the group, remaining silent on their way to the mirror. As they neared the elevator, he made sure to get in second to last, as to make sure he didn't bump into anyone with his rugged plate armor. He stood there blank-faced as usual, returning to his usual manner now that the short commotion with Liam was over.

I wonder how this will go. Werewolves, huh...? Jack thought to himself. It sounded risky, and he wasn't sure he would be of much use. He didn't bother making a comment, though, for the pay would probably be worth his time and trouble in the end.

Liam strolled through the cool hall until they were face to face with a large, ornate elevator door. When Largo pressed the up arrow and the metal parted he stepped in. Once everyone was in the elevator, Liam moved next to Jack where he tentatively linked arms with him while the heavy door slid closed before them. He smirked to himself, holding in his amusement until Jack had an outburst.

(sorry this is probably the shortest post I will every make, but I couldn't allow Liam to miss this chance to troll. It's not in his nature. xD Plus I didn't want to add in a bunch of useless filler)

Dmytri huddled into the elevator with the others. He rushed to the back and reserved the corner. I didnt even notice the elevator before, He thought to himself. He was very uncomfortable. It didnt help that Largo was in front of him and Julia at his side. The smell of girl was thick in the elevator. Could be worse, he could be in the front of the elevator smelling the guys. He sighed but stopped himself. He didnt want Largo to think he was breathing heavily on her. He shoved his hands in his pockets as he felt his hand graze Julia's. Wish this elevator would go faster. His breathing got a little more restricted and his sweat started beading on his forehead. Oh god.. He thought, what if I start stinking? The anxiety made time slow down. He was claustrophobic, somewhat.

"ITS ONLY TWO FLOORS! WHATS TAKING SO LONG!" He yelled impatiently. He shut his mouth and noticed he had said it out loud in frustration. He sighed and shrugged his shoulders, looking down at his zipper on his jacket.

(lol its funny because it reminds me of the claustrophobic scene I did when Largo possessed someone at the corkboard)

After settling into position in the elevator and someone pushed the mirrors 50-80 button in the elevator, Largo closed her eyes. There was no actual indication of what floor they were heading for, something about security. But from the level they were on, it looked like it would only be two floors. The ride would be constricted so she closed her eyes and breathed slowly while the air thickened around them and the machine ascended. She was relatively tall and glad that Dmytri was at her back, his looming height might have had an impact on her discomfort. She didn't realized his fidgeting and discomfort until he yelled out. Knowing how he felt, she put a hand where she guessed his shoulder to be and said gently, "Just close your eyes." Hers were still shut as she retracted her hand and inched forward slightly to give him some space, but only enough to where she wouldn't be cramped up against Alyss' back. Without touching others and keeping her eyes shut, it gave her the illusion that she was in a larger space.

Liam glanced to the back of the elevator. It was his first time really paying any attention to the tall, scarred guy in the group. He thought back, recalling that his name was Dmytri and something about water. He really is producing water...He thought as he took note of the sweat rolling down the guy's face. He scoffed slightly, his arm still linked with Jack's as he turned his head back to the door. "You claustrophobic?" He pressed the point in response to the yell. "Maybe your little illusion friend can help you there." Liam suggested in a demeaning tone, but the words weren't all that inconceivable.

(Hey sorry if my mind is turning the layout of the academy into a topsy turvy, inconsistent wonderland. I'm pretty bad with directions. :D )

Dmytri watched as he felt a small comforting hand touch his shoulder.

Just close your eyes... The voice said. Dmytri felt an instant calm as Largo's voice rang through the elevator. His heart slowed and his breathing followed suit. He was glad she was there. Something about her made him feel relaxed and comfortable. Maybe it was her pink hair or the way she lead the pack but it was nice. He closed his eyes and waited for the welcoming ding. The elevator came to a stop and the door opened. He would have pushed his way out of there if it hadnt been for the girls beside him.

(maybe its an elevator like on Willa Wonka where it only goes to the mirrors and takes you to the specific ones lol.)

Nikolai was walking towards the room when he heard the patter of feet rushing towards him. He didnt bother to turn around, he knew who it was. He approached the door when Buster met him. He looked at him.

"Just because we're rooming together..." He glared at him. He unlocked the door and forced it open. He threw his bags at the bed closest to the door and started to unpack.

Begrudgingly acknowledging Largo's answer, Alyss continued down the hall to the elevator. After squeezing into the tiny compartment and hoping to not smush anyone else against the walls, Alyss was relieved to be let out of the metal elevator. She quickly slipped out of the doors when they slid open, and looked around at the maze of lower-numbered mirrors as she waited for everyone else to file out of the elevator. After Largo was out, Alyss asked her, "What mirror number is it?"

((sorry so short xP will post longer in afternoon))

(My apologies for the small change in writing style. It appears that I should be having more fun than deeper conflict. I will give my full attention now.)

With attention focusing once again on the academy itself, Ryder began to dwell on deeper thoughts. As opposed to the life of education through books as his father had previously put him through, this 'academies' main goal was more physical labor. It could be said that it was an academy built around the life lesson that nothing comes free, forcing the students to take jobs to pay for their daily needs. If it were to be looked at as an educational system despite the oddity of their terms, it would make sense. To be sent here with nothing, meant he he to rebuild everything within his life. It was annoying that such lengths would be taken so he could learn such painfully obvious things, but his father was simply that kind of man.

Then again, the reasons behind Ryder's countless outings were probably warped. Between the private schools and this academy, most of his life was being spent in dorms. It could very well be true that the family pushing his back was merely trying to get him out of the door, and away from their lives. Not that he could honestly resent them if such feelings did exist. As his mind was had been sent a long time ago, that he could not hold anyone close. Having heard about the darkness within people, seeing what it has done, and then gaining the ability to manifest it. In a way, he wanted to avoid the lesson of what was to come with it, but it was quite apparent that even in seclusion it will find a way to pry into his life.

A pair of limousines would make there way through the academy. Though at different intervals, each contained rather peculiar members that would make their way within. Disgust was the only real word that could simplify his view of them. People who were carried here by outside earnings, dauntlessly showing off in their wealth. But even more so, those that seemed to not cherish what exactly was being given to them. Ryder despised those that attempted to look cool for show. At least Dmytri didn't try to cover the flaws that paints his existence. Fear, jealousy, and even pain. These are the people that meaninglessly attempted to use such sickening emotions to their will. Ryder however, was the one that used it for power.

Seeing as how the commotion from limousines appearing had started to die down, Ryder could make his escape. Fleeing to the midst of the courtyard where he would pause to examine the board once again, but from a closer view point. Surely these jobs ranged from such meager tasks, to those that would probably spread a vast amount of wealth and fame. Though it would appear the mainstream of students would partake in the mid-range difficulties. Their minds on the probable wealth, and stimulation of the mission. Reaching to the board, he pulled down a small note-sized piece of paper. Though it was only a rank one, someone on the other side needed help no matter the reasoning. Was it an old lady, simply trying to get a little manual labor done, or perhaps a lazy member of youth, trying to avoid any difficulties within their path by forcing it on to others.

"Allotted time: 7 Hours

Job Description: Need help preparing a shrine. Includes cleaning, decorating, as well minor construction.

Payment: $8/hour per person

Mirror Number: 15

Risk: 1"

Looking over it, Ryder remained motionless, wearing the same dull expression. Perhaps visiting a small shrine for personal reasons would not be all that bad. Then again, he also had a small inner conflict as to the definitions of taint and purity. Surely his darkness could not taint something as pure as a holy ground. At least, not whilst it was still devouring him from the inside. Though, the payment highlighted that multiple members could partake. They would probably be more appreciative if there were more bodies to proceed with the work. However, the only people he knew at the academy were Nezumi and the brother. With Dmytri already pulled into a group, his thoughts only remained on the sister. Closing his eyes momentarily, he attempted to purge the thought from his head. Idle worry of something like friends... Is nothing more than a nuisance.
