Mermaid Love

"I know you're scared." She argued. "I am too. You're my best friend and I know that's strange because we've only known each other for a few days, but I do care and I'm the only one bothering to talk to you." Stephanie removed her wetsuit and walked away.

He looked at her and he turned around, anger still fuming inside of him. He floated to the bottom and he humphed, seeing her walk away after a little fight.

She had tears still forming. "Gillian, please...talk to me. I want to know what I can do to make this more comfortable for you." She came back, but didn't bother getting in the tank this time.

~Four Months Later~

Gillian had begun to give up all hope of ever going home. He looked around, wishing that the woman who had spoken to him would come back. Yet not sense that day had she ever even come to see him. HE sighed once more and rubbed his eyes, groaning.

Stephanie returned after a long vacation. When she saw Gillian, she huffed, ignoring him, then resumed loading a sea lion into a crate. "We're putting this guy back, right?" She saw her co-worker nod. "Yep. The infection's all cleared up and he can go home." They lifted the crate onto the back of a truck.

"When will you let me out!" He shouted. He'd revealled that he could speak english a week ago, specifically when someone had accidently hit him with a bucket when he came up for food. He banged the glass, "Answer me!!!"

As the truck drove off, Stephanie resumed separating dead fish eggs from the live ones on a little tray in the corner, then, she walked around feeding everyone after throwing the dead eggs out. She stopped at Gillian's tank and refused to answer him as she fed him.

"I'm not some kind of animal!" He shouted, swimming up to the glass and banging the glass, "I AM JUST LIKE YOU!" He screamed, hitting the glass until his hands bled.

Stephanie felt the tears start coming as her heart ached for her love. "Gillian, it's time to eat." She gave him his food and slowly climbed back down the ladder. "You'll bust your tank. Stop it."

He looked up, "YOU ALL ACT LIKE I'M JUST ANOTHER DUMB FISH! I AM HALF HUMAN AND I WILL NOT BE TREATED THIS WAY!" He hit the glass and suddenly it broke. The pressure caused the entire wall to cave in, as well as shreding his right hand. He screamed and flopped out, coughing violently.

As he did so, his tail began to shiver. Slowly, the sscales faded and legs began to form. Soon he was laying there, without any hair on his body, nude, and gasping. She saw he was having issues breathing air but... he was not dying at least.

((Basically he has no hair on any of his skin, he can breathe air but it takes getting used to, and he doesn't like being on land. HE was lying ealier when he said he couldn't breathe air *giggle*))

(You're cruel. :3)

Believing the merman couldn't breathe air, Stephanie poured bucket after bucket of water onto him, performed CPR, but still hated him. "Gillian! Wake up!" She wouldn't do mouth to mouth. "Gillian, come on!"

Gillian coughed and he slowly sat up, groaning a little. He looked at her and then he sighed, "...fudge." (He'd heard that from sailors. He knew it was a curse, but he didn't know the real word.) He tried to stand up, yet he'd never walked on his legs and just fel down, "I can breathe!"

"No, really?" She backed off. "You completely flooded the lab. Watch your step. There's broken glass everywhere, thanks to you, Fishboy." She joined the others in the clean-up process. "Go put some clothes on. There should be a lab coat or something in the back."

He looked up ta her and he hissed, crawling over and taking care not to damage himself. He held his shredded hand close and grabbed the coat after picking his way over the glass shards. Once donned, he looked at her and got onto his knees, "Now... let... me... go... home..!"

"I can't." Stephanie said simply. "That's not my call. I'm sorry." She hated him for being so angry. "But, if you so choose, idiot, act as if you're escaping. You already escaped your tank. Good luck, though."

Staring at her, he finally gave up and slid to the ground. He coudnl't walk on his legs, and he was about as useful right now as a real fish out of water. He groaned and shut his eyes, sighing and waiting to be taken back agian.

Stephanie had him strapped to a table and taken to the lab.

(Yo, I don't like playing multiple people and my partner only has one.)
