Mermaid Love

BeyondOblivion

Two Thousand Club
Gillian hesitantly began to swim down the side of the currents, trying to figure out where it was that he had ended up. Out of curiosity, he'd taken a different route to try and get himself back home. However, upon doing so, he was caught in a current and now had ended up here. He whimpered in fear as he saw a pack of dolphins. He swam up to them, hoping that he could recognized them and attempt to figure out where he was.

@Yuuki Kuran

Dr. Stephanie Rivera was sitting at some sort ofunderwater radar as a couple of her comrades adorned scuba diving suits and dropped into the water with cameras and scanners and everything. "That's no bottlenose dolphin." Rivera talked to herself, in the middle of a study on the mammals. "What is that?" She called over the radio that the divers had. "I don't know I thought it was some new dolphin species." The diver told her. "Well, let's grab it and bring it up." The boat rocked back and forth as the divers came aboard and started to lower a net into the sea.

Gillian began to rub the nose of the dolphins, trying to figure out what he could from them. When the majority of them swam away, he realized he didn't know them at all. While he pondered that fate, suddenly he felt a great weight against his shoulders. Soon he was caught up in a large, net, being slowly dragged up towards the surface. He gsaped and began to chitter, his body shivering.

((He doesn't know english))

The people onboard stared in awe at the merman. "Come on! We need to get this guy into a tank!" Dr. Rivera ordered, having her men drag the net over to a large shark sized tank and drop him in. "This is so cool." The head doctor and his son came up to the tank. "Dr. Turner, what is it?" Stephanie asked the man. He didn't answer right away. "We have to take him back to the center."

He looked around inside the tank and began to turn himself around multiple times. He chittered in fer and began to hit his hands agaisn the glass. When that failed, he gulped nervously and began to smack against the lid, thrashing around inside the water, yet aware that the air, although wouldn't hurt him, would take a long while to get used to.

"Easy, Big guy." Dr. Turner told Gillian while taking some pictures. "We aren't here to hurt you." Well, he wouldn't try, but the experiments were something he himself never experienced. His son started tapping the glass. "This is so cool." He smiled up at Gillian. "Hey, Dad? What are we going to do with him?" He spoke over his shoulder at his father. "Nothing yet." The man answered, steering toward base.

Gillian began to float around. He couldn't understand what she was saying, yet he could tell she was upset or nervous about something. He shivered harder and let out more chitters, which sounded akin to some of the African languages. He began to beat against the glass harder when the boat shifted, and he saw they were moving towards land mass.

"David, stop it." Stephanie placed her hand on the tank. "This is absolutely incredible." She looked into those eyes. "Hi, I'm Dr. Stephanie Rivera. Can you understand me?" She asked out of curiosity.

The merman swam around and shook his head. He didn't understand a word she said. He chittered and began to slowly swim around in the water, still scared beyond belief at this point. He put both hands on the glass and started to shiver.

Stephanie grinned at him. "Then, why did you just shake your head?" She placed her hands over his through the glass. "I'm not going to hurt you." The boat stopped and Stephanie fell to the ground because she hadn't been paying attention. "Let's get him out and transport him to the pool." She saw a net go inside the tank and fish the merman out.

He saw the net and began to flip out, flipping around. He shivered a little and gave a high pitched chitter before getting caught within the net. He looked over at her and he started to jerk around inside. He shook within the bonds and gasped when he was pulled out, coughing violently.

The doctors carried him inside the marine rescue center and stuck him in an empty pool. "Relax. I promise we won't hurt you." She got down on her knees as he was put in the pool. "It's okay." She splashed the water with her hand. "I think I wanna get in there with him." She told the others.

He began to jerk around inside the water, his body still barely able to adjust. He swam around and started to beat against the glass, smacking it with his fin. He grabbed the wall and pulled at it, yet his hands slid harmlessly off. He chittered harder and harder.

"Are you joking? You don't know what he could do." Her boss tried to make her see sense, but Stephanie was already putting on a wet suit and flippers. She climbed into the tank.

He gasped and flung himself away from her, shaking a little. His chitters died down as he slowly began to swim up to her. Suddenly he actually began to speak, "H-Hello?"

Stephanie almost died of shock. "Are you...speaking to me?" She knew it was a dumb question as soon as it came out. "You can understand me?" This was the most amazing thing she had ever seen. "What's your name?"

"M-My name is Gillian." It was extremely difficult to speak. He sighed a little bit and groaned slightly as she started to move twoards him. He whispered, "Why do you speak Oceanic?"

"Oceanic?" Stephanie stopped a few feet in front of Gillian. "Why do you speak English?" Stephanie knew that Gillian was annoyed with her, but this opportunity was too great. "Are there more like you?"

She nodded. Meanwhile, the others were watching as if Stephanie were nuts. "Really? That's amazing. We can speak to each other." Clearing her throat, she thought about what Gillian would like. "Are you hungry?" She questioned, thinking that he could use some food and fun.

He nodded and looked around. "Do you have any fish? Anything of that derivative?" He looked down. His immune system had actually evolved so he could eat raw materia and have a low risk of infection.

As an answer to Gillian's question, Stephanie swam to the surface. "Guys, he's hungry. Can we get some fish in here? Just dump them in alive." As the others did this, they wondered how she was under the impression that Gillian was hungry. Fish swam all around the tank. Stephanie dove back under.

Gillian suddenly shot over and grabbed the fish, yet he had misjudged the tank size and his head slammed into the glass. He groaned and swam again, finally able to get the fish. He grabbed it and then snapped its neck instantly, turned his head away, and then began to eat the fish. Some blood floated around, yet it was a minimal amount.

Stephanie, having worked with sharks and other underwater carnivores, was used to this, but a small part of her hated seeing this being done by someone who looked human from the waist up. "Do you always do it like that?" She asked, looking over his shoulder.

He shook his head, "No, I normally only eat the actual meat, but... I don't have anything to skin it with." He sighed slightly and rubbing his eyes a little more.
