Meeting the reaper

Kath held tightly onto the man as he sped off down the road, resting her chin upon his shoulder. As a mere mortal, she was unaware of who this man was, and that her future was alreay decided for her. She wasn't spiritual-this stuff wasn't real! The motorcyclist sped up, the bike roaring loudly, as the vehicle seemed to heat up,"Stop!" She shouted to him, yet he simply sped up,"Stop, stop! You'll hurt someone! Or kill us!" Fear once again filled her heart, but jumping would be fatal.

Jack knew what he was doing. His heart speeded up. What is this feeling? why am I feeling this? He jump up and grabbed her from the motorcycle and pulled her down mostly hurting his self then her. He was laying on the ground his back against the dirt. She was on top of him. His normal hair color came back and his skin his eyes turned back also. He closed his eyes. His heart started to calm down a little. He blushed that she was on top of him. He could barley breath because how far and fast he was running after the motorcycle. "Can't.....Breath....."

Somehow, her heart pounded even harder whilst on top of Jack, and she knew that he could feel it. Yet, she didn't mind. Slowly, she moved so she was straddling him, so he was somewhat under her control,"Okay, why is everybody trying to kill me today? Are you all part of some weird cult? I need answers." Kath held his shoulders down, and stared deeply into his eyes, adrenaline calming down, but heart still fluttering. Tears welled up in her eyes, yet she was determined not to let them break free.

He breathed calmly catching his breath. "I don't know our boss just sent us after you..he said you was dying in seven days..." He looked into her eyes. His eyes turned black. He was calm and kind at the moment. "You just can't go with the devil...he'll kill you like he almost did..I won't kill you neither will melody..were trying to save you" He took a deep breath after saying so much. He reached up his hand touched her hair. "Its softer then I imagined.." He said smiling.

Kath rubbed tears away with the back of a hand,"But why me? Why do I have to die? I-I've never done anything bad in my life! I'm studying hard, I'm doing everything right..." Her voice cracked, as she got off of him, sitting beside him instead, as she attempted to hold back the floodgates. Silvery tears trickled down her face, feeling completely helpless, as she hid her head in her hands. "A-and I can't d-do anything about it.."

Jack sat up and looked at her. "It wasn't your fault..." He rubbed her shoulder. "It was the driver the glass somehow did it i'm not sure but..you know" He moved her hands. He moved her head to look at him. "Your a beautiful girl" He leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. His mouth burned like flames. He pulled away remembering. "I'm so sorry"

Despite the heat being too intense to cope, it felt comforting to have his lips on her skin, and just for him to remain near him. Seeking comfort, Kath rested her head on his shoulder, and closed her eyes,"How are you going to save me if it's already been decided that I'm dying?" It felt like she was sat a bit too close to a bonfire, but the alternative was the cold emptiness of being completely alone. Why did this boy make her feel this way?

"Because the way you go...you know heaven is where melody is..i live on earth but work for the boss..if you go with me you'll live normally you'll just be a reaper...and have to control yourself" He smiled as he put his hand on her cheek. It was so cold and jack liked it that way. He wondered if she was still scared of him but he didn't feel like he could pull his self to ask her that.

"I don't want to leave you. That Melody girl creeps me out more than you do. And you carry round a blade with you." Softly, the girl chuckled and shut her eyes, gently pressing her face into his palm. His touch was electrifying, bringing warmth to her cold skin, seemingly drawing her deeper. Kath wanted to fight it, but some part of her knew that this was her true path. He wasn't lying. "My name's Kath, by the way. I feel that we got off on the wrong foot."

Jack smiled. "That's a beautiful name Kath.." He smiled. He moved his hand away and looked at her. He wanted her so bad but he couldn't pull him self to do that either. He never felt this. His heart felt warm and safe. He looked at her. He laid down and pulled her on top of him like he did last time. "I bet you already know my name" He said with a smile.

"Jack. That's your name, right?" His time, the girl remained laying with him, resting her head upon his chest. Never before had she felt this way to this extent: her skin ached to touch him, yet she knew that she had to be reserved. There was no way that it would reflect well on either of them if she gave in to her urges, so she simply settled for laing on him. Kath looked up at him,"So what now? Do I just wait for death?" It was dark, but the thoughts clashed in her mind and all she needed was closure.

"No...because i'm right here..you can wait until seven days being normal or you can go now" He gave her the option because his feelings were growing for her and he wanted to be fair to her. He grabbed her hand. "Your hands are so soft..." He said with a smile. He never felt anything softer. He wanted to stay in this position forever with her. The coldness of her skin made him feel so good.

"W-well, you're here now, so I guess it makes more sense for you to take me now.." Kath rubbed circles with her thumb on the back of his hand, smiling nervously. His warmth made her trust him, feel more comfortable, although she knew that he could and would kill her. "Please don't make it hurt." She closed her eyes, bracing herself, all of her muscles tensing against his shoulder.

"I would never hurt you" He said calmly. He stood up and got his scythe and he pointed his toward her and started chanting. She levitated in the sky but nothing happened at the moment. "Its going to take time"

Kath looked down at him, fear evident in her eyes although she tried not to show it outwardly. "I-I trust you." The girl took a deep breath, hands smoothing out her dress in the hopes of keeping her dignity. Her wide, blue eyes locked on his entrancing orbs, as she desperately tried to calm herself down. But humans aren't meant to fly! All of her life, her feet had been planted firmly on the ground, but now she floated midair, and this boy... This boy had swept her off of her feet, had saved her life, only to take it. "Why did you save me before? If I had to die, why not let that car take my life?"

Jack put her on the ground and closed his eyes. "Because....I love you" He winced once he said that. He blushed a dark red color. He looked down and kicked the dirt He looked back up at her and smiled. He put scythe away then put his hands in his pockets. He never had any interactions with a girl they would always run away from him screaming. He sighed at the thought. But this girl stayed he wondered why he had so many questions but decided to keep them safe inside.

Kath smiled slightly, a pale blush settling over her face,"H-how could you love me? You didn't know me when you saved me. I can agree that we have a certain magnetism...but love?" Her gaze skimmed his body before meeting his eyes. Those eyes...they brought butterflies to her stomach, stirring something within her that she had never felt before. The girl shook her head softly-she could see them falling in love, but it was too quick, too sudden, too...impossible.

Jack stood still for a moment. "I've studied you for many years....so caring so smart" He smiled then closed his eyes. He tilted his head the other way and smiled. He cooled down his blushing and looked at the sky. He walked closer to her and held out a necklace.

She arched a brow as she looked at the necklace, tentatively taking it from his hands. Honestly, she wasn't sure how she felt about him watching her;it was creepy, but oddly sweet. Had she been stalked by the grim reaper? Deciding to crack a joke, Kath spread a mischievous grin onto her face,"This is like your stalkerish dreams come true. You get to stay with me for all of eternity."

Jack chuckled. He always would laugh at jokes even if they were insulting him or not funny. He nodded then put his hands behind his back. He watched her for a minute then he looked away. Even though he had strong feelings he would never look somebody in the eye for a long time. He looked at the ground and kicked the dirt. He sighed as he usual did when he looked away.

Sensing that something was off with him, she took a step tiwards him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Help me put this on then." Kath smiled apologetically, and turned around, brushing her hair away from the back of her neck, and handing him the necklace. Guilt overwhelmed her, tidal waves of it.

Jack looked at the necklace in his hands. He put the necklace on her and smiled. He smiled. He breathed deeply he never would be near a girl for this long. He breathed deeply. He didn't say much because he would always be alone. He didn't know how to carry on a conversation that much.

"How does it look?" She asked, spinning on her heel to face him, with a wide smile on her lips. Carefully, Kath flipped out any hair that had gotten caught in the necklace, one hand fiddling with her skirt. Her head had to tilt up pretty far to look him in the eyes, but they were gorgeous, so were worth it. He was truly breathtaking.

Jack smiled. "Beautiful" He said with a smile. His eyes glowed but they glowed of happiness. He moved his hand to her hair and stroked it. He tilted his head. He thought her hair was as soft as her hand. He blushed again. It was easy to get him to blush he never did this stuff before. He raised a eyebrow as he stroked her hair.

Tentatively, she placed an icily cold hand on his cheek: the blood brought to his face made it even hotter. Warmth spread across her body in waves from the point of contact, with a happy smile on her face. Glee filling her, Kath gently rested her head on his chest, closing her eyes. "What do we do now?"
