Meeting the reaper

Kath blushed softly as he took off his shirt, eyes immediately drawn to the tattoo. Instinctively, she stretched out her hand, tracing the design with her index finger,"Woah. Did it hurt?"

Jack shook his head. "No not really" He smiled. He leaned his head to the side a little bit and closed his eyes. He had a long day of chasing people around for there souls and listening to the angels inspirations. He sighed and started to relax.

Happily, she stroked the tattoo, tracing all the lines with her fingers, admiring the work. She'd always wanted another tattoo, but the only one she had was a small heart on her hipbone in dedication to her dead parents. Kath smiled softly, as she realised,"You've already met my parents. You don't have to worry about meeting them now." Her voice was light-her parents died when she was twelve, her mother from a brain aneurysm, followed by her father's suicide.

Jack stared her for a second. He grabbed her head and pulled her closer seeing how she looked. He smiled and let go of her head and laid his head back down. He nodded. "Your mother is a angel...your father is a demon" He looked at her with a little frown. "I bet melody could show you your mother again...but we both don't interact with the demons..." He thought for a moment and looked at her. He put a hand on her shoulder.

Frowning, Kath pushed his hand off of her shoulder,"If you won't interact with him, I will. And my mother, an angel? Hardly." She stood up, crossing her arms over her chest. In life, her father had been very close to her, often buying her gifts and treating her, so naturally she was a Daddy's girl. On the other hand, her mother always shouted at her, and had hit her before, evoking a dislike in her daughter. "I do not wish to see that cow again. Her funeral was enough, and it nearly bankrupted us! Blue roses, she made us buy." How could she make it to heaven? True, she was religious, but Kath couldn't remember being shown love by her.

Jack frowned. "I didn't make the decision my love.." He never understood things and how people went to different sides he was always told not to worry about it. He saw that this made her very angry he felt kind of bad to bring up the topic. Jack sighed as he looked at her. He said no more and laid his head back down where it was.

"H-how could I go about visiting him? Would I have to go to hell? Is hell real? Would he be there?" She began to pace- her darling daddy was a demon, and was probably alone, without any nice people to talk to. Maybe it would have been better if she'd stayed on that man's motorbike and gone to hell. At least then they'd be reunited. "And if you don't agree with how people are sorted, why avoid interaction with demons?"

"Fine!" He gritted his teeth. He grabbed his shirt and put it on. "I'll take you there alright!?" He grabbed his scythe. He was definitely mad. He was also mad at his self for bringing up the topic he stared at her his eyes turned cold as they first met. He sighed and calmed down. "I'll take you there every Wednesdays and Fridays alright?"

"It would be his birthday today. Thank you for offering to take me. You don't have to come with me if you don't feel comfortable with it. I just...feel sensitive about it this time of year." Kath looked down at the floor, feeling guilty for making him angry, but still eager to see her father. Forcing a smile across her face, she looked up at him, and pecked his cheek, in a similar manner to how you kiss a family member:with nervousness and slight discomfort.

"You can't go alone without a angel or a reaper.." The kiss that she gave him had no affect. He grabbed her hand and walked through a dark hole he made with his scythe. It was a long walk for them to go jack couldn't just transport there. A shiver went through his body he knew what he had to do in order for her to see her father. He sighed and ruffled his hair.

The hole was totally void of light, yet it didn't phase her whatsoever: it comforted her. Kath had always preferred the darkness, which was reflected in most aspects of her life, especially wardrobe. Her pulse raced in anticipation, so she sped up, nearly sprinting, simply wanting to see him as soon as possible. Not a single thought passed her mind about Jack or how he'd feel as she dragged him, a wide grin on her face. In honesty, she couldn't really remember her father's face, so her excitement raged like a forest fire.

Jack gulped as they walked through the doors of hell. Jack shivered as the motorcyclist looked at him with a smirk. Jack took her hand and walked forward to the throne he was sitting in made out of skulls. "A-Ashton.." Jack greeted him. "Hello jack you come for more?" He asked as he laughed and other demons laughed. Jack grunted. "She wants to see her father.." Jack explained. Ashton looked at her. "Hmm he's over there" He pointed to a guy in the corner. "Now jack I told you not to come here didn't I?" He asked cracking his knuckles getting off the throne. "Of course but I promised her.." His hood was covering his face as usual.

Fear filled the girl at the idea of putting Jack at risk, so without thought, decided to attempt striking a bargain,"So Ashton's your name...wow. Maybe we could...fix this little predicament." Her voice took on a flirty tone, as she headed toward the biker, delicate fingers playing with the collar of his leather jacket. Kath could be very seductive if the mood took her, and her attraction to this man was undeniable. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see her father amongst a large group of demons, laughing at Jack. He was a young man when he died, not even 30, and his grin hid his age well.

Ashton pushed her out of the way. He went over to jack. "Like you could keep a girl that cute" He laughed and pushed him on the ground. Since this wasn't jack's territory he had no strength. "Now let me give you a token on why you shouldn't be here. He flung his hood off his head and clawed side of his face he was bleeding like crazy he didn't care he moaned in pain. Ashton picked him up again and slung him against the wall. "Any last words boy?" He said as he held a knife at jack's throat. "At least I didn't date a angel" He said with a smirk. All the demons started laughing at ashton. He grew angry and cut jack's throat. Jack laid there. It was his fault for coming here.

Despite knowing that the right thing to do would be to go to Jack, she could see her father recognising her and heading toward her. Kath turned on her heel to face him, and ran towards him,"Daddy!" The man wrapped his hands around her waist, picking her up and swinging her around with a grin on his face. Once they stopped hugging, she looked up at him, and had to take a step back: his canines now came to a sharp point, his eyes were a soulless yellow hue, and dark goats horns had broken through his forehead. Fearful, she looked over her shoulder at Jack, who sat slumped on the floor.

His breathing was heavy. Ashton stuck his demon claw in his throat. He was laughing as he saw the life drain out of him. Jack gritted his teeth. He knew all this stuff would heal later but it hurt so bad right now. "So brother this is the end of you.." He said with a laugh. "I knew you would come back then I would just kill you and look your dying melody wont help you mom wont help you not even dad were the only ones who went to the bad side only if you stood by me this would not happen but you know what who cares" He stuck his claw deeper. Jack knew he was done for.

"Wow, how big of you Ashton! Having to prove your masculinity and strength through pointless sibling rivalry, when that pitiful worm is already at a disadvantage." Kath called to him, a playful smirk on her face as the demons surrounding her chuckled. It didn't show, but she knew that she had to distract the biker, so made a bold move. The girl darted to the throne, and draped herself over it, swinging her legs over one armrest,"For the king of hell, you're not very scary." Her father could tell what she was doing, and laughed louder, which provoked the other demons to do the same.

Ashton quickly turned around and snapped. "Get the hell off my throne!" He gritted his teeth. Jack's wounds started to heal. Ashton yelled but jack didn't pay attention to what he said he knew Ashton wouldn't hurt a girl. Once some of jack's bad wounds healed he stood up and got something from his pocket. He went toward Ashton and put the cloth around his mouth and he fell down. Jack's nose twitched. He looked at all the demons that were about to attack him. He brought out his scythe. "Remember what happened last time?" He raised a eyebrow he wasn't in a good mood at the moment. He took his scythe and made a hole and some of the demons went in but not her father. He looked at all the others who still remained. But he didn't say anything he left he sat out side the doors.

Kath moved on the throne to get more comfortable,"This is cushy. I should get one of these. You okay?" She glanced over at Jack before he left, as her father approached the throne. "You know, you really suit that throne...have you considered staying?" The man asked, his piercing eyes penetrating her soul completely, yet his grin comforted her, almost making her comply.

Jack knew she wasn't going to come. He was going to calm down a bit then say his goodbyes. Jack felt a soft touch. He looked up and saw melody. "What are you doing here?" He asked. "I sensed my brother was in danger why are you here anyways?" She tilted her head. "To see my life crumble down to my face" He lifted his hood up showing his face. She jumped a little bit. "That's horrible.."

"Daddy, that guy risked his life for me. It would be disrespectful to stay, with the man who nearly killed him. Even if he is handsome. And this chair is very comfy." Kath traced patterns in the red velvet of the throne, which she fit into perfectly. The dress seemed perfect for this chair, bringing out her bright eyes and pale skin. Would she be able to stay here?

Jack came back in the room and stopped at the throne. He avoided from looking at her face. "Goodbye kath...I hope you have fun" He stayed there for a moment or two and then turned back about to leave. All the demons stared at him scared that he was going to use his scythe.

Nervously, she jittered her leg, before getting up from the throne, and planting a kiss on the cheek of the blacked out man on the floor. Her red lipstick left a print, so she was content to go to Jack. Her father kissed her forehead, before sending her on her way. Kath sprinted to the boy and hugged him,"I'm so sorry, Jack."

Jack shook his head. "If you want to stay here you can I cant compete with your father and my brother....even though we wouldn't see each other for the rest of our death life's it makes you happy..." Jack felt cold as he usually did. Everything he liked about her faded and he was back where he started like when you play a video game and it dies. Jack didn't face her he didn't have the strength to.

"Jack, although my father means the world to me, I love you." Kath held his face in her hands to look her in the eye,"I love you so much it scares me. My heart flutters from just being near you. Here, feel." She took his hand and pressed it to the cool skin of her exposed chest, holding it with her hand. It was the truth. Honestly, there was only two reasons she would stay in hell; the cushy seat and her father. "I couldn't go the rest of my death without you."
