It's okay, you can say it. Or better yet, dogma. Perchance, "dumb shit that they're better off not following anyway"

Dude lmao, this is such an unhealthy dynamic. Having parental power over your own followers. Seems like it's one of those things that could either go very well if done right, or very badly if done wrong.

I'm being dramatic as hell. They'll be fine. I'll write the doctrine. A part of me wants to let Nancy starve but since the Gods have to smile on him, I have to smile on him as well

The doctrine is kind of in line with extremist bible stuff. It's easy to follow with massive inconvenience to the personal life. I wanted to do Lattice and Josephine stuff, but you have to ask questions for me to answer.

I will start writing it up. It will be important in Guild

Oh I know lol, I'm following along
But I think the only "gods" here are you and I, smiling as we put him through various traumatic situations.

Nancy inconveniencing his personal life for (an ungrateful) someone sounds in line with him. Then again, maybe that's only because he grew up needing to do that. Who knows! I guess we'll see now that he can live freely. It's not like Goddess is around to breathe down his neck.

As for Guild though, I'll have to play by ear how much focus to have on Divine stuff. Depending on what the doctrine turns out to be, it might hit a little too close to home for me.

Actually, it's more so how much of a bitch Goddess was back then. You said something that suggested that she was much nicer back then, buuuut I don't 100% trust that lmao. I don't think I can believe Daedric influence made all of that crop up from nowhere, it had to be festering and then worsened after the Abyss. Not gonna make you spoil it though. Let me wonder.

Yep. On that note, tell me the origins and history of the four Divine Magics, every person in the Asella lineage past and present, and a detailed essay on the different pairs of underwear Royce Garret Bivens has in his wardrobe. I expect each paper on my desk by 11:59 pm tonight.

Royce would call you scandalous for asking about his underwear..........then show you his underwear. I would dig him up, but then he'd try to sleep with Avery after his performance against Mozreliun. This would be in clear violation of Divinity Law, but Royce would go for it knowing that fact

every person in the Asella lineage past and present
Great Great Grandma Asella is a bog witch who only cares about her Cajun recipes............but somehow finds the will to attend Elewynn's promotion ceremony. Rumors say it's because Demi serves Elewynn, but Grandma Asella will deny it, instead saying she wants to sell her chili

What is with Divinity and wanting to see Avery in sexual situations?! First Baroness, now this. Is it a catboy thing? Even Hemhart thought he was "endearing"... probably a whole concubine of catfolk buried under the castle rubble, and we'll never know.

But I bet it's damn good chili. Probably the best around

People see a femboy and assume sluttiness. In reality, he's borderline sex-repulsed from trauma. He makes passes at Sebas because deep down he knows that he'll never actually sleep with him. That makes Sebas "safe" for him. It would be a crisis moment for Avery if Sebas were to ever reciprocate

Hemhart definitely has a host of concubines buried under the rubble though. He would've added Avery to the mix. Avery just would've swallowed a cyanide pill before ever presenting his ass for Hemhart

Jesus! Thanks for the surprise Avery lore, but damn. I kinda suspected something like that though, knowing his past.

I think anyone would rather take the pill than take it in the ass by Hemhart. He's a fucking giant, for christ's sake! How did they not die?

(Ok I'll actually work on replies now, lmao)

If Arnold is to be Nellie's advisor, they absolutely need to have a deep talk after this scene. It looks like they don't understand what's going on in each other's heads, or what the other's goals are. Not that they would, because they barely know each other, but now it's critical if they're to work together. Same with Mariah. Pretty much everyone in the leadership circle that isn't Vlad, I realize. She was a very isolated person even before all of this.

WayfaringWaaksian WayfaringWaaksian

Absolutely. It's one of the reasons I won't make it hard to convince Josephine. Arnold DOES have some important questions for her though, and those will be the basis of his advice to her. Things like what happened with Rook cannot go unaddressed. Not that it was BAD (since it worked), but making a soul-pact with a being you know nothing about is undeniably extreme. To Arnold, it's pulling dangerously close to Gambit territory given that a lot of her Daedric power is in the scales she's putting on the table

Yeah, Vlad would have shut that shit down IMMEDIATELY if he'd been there. But Nellie taking drastic measures is kinda par for the course with her, lol. Like mother, like daughter, like son.

Gonna have to figure out how to keep the flow of the scene after what Arnold retorted with. Nellie is taking his words in a very bad way. Might actually dislike him for it, in fact. I'll probably spin it where she's giving him the benefit of the doubt mostly for Jo's sake (so she doesn't get blindsided with even more Daedric rage), because I expect this to be an easy misunderstanding for them to rectify. Nellie just has extremely strong convictions, and not really great listening or speaking skills. She's trying ;_;

Arnold, Arnold...

Wanna snap my fingers in front of this guy, DON'T CLOCK OUT JUST BECAUSE IT DOESN'T INVOLVE YOU. THAT WAS KINDA IMPORTANT TO HEAR
This is gonna be interesting

Not like he doesn't care. He just assumes it's either gonna go incredibly well or horribly bad. His partner is incredibly dramatic, serving an incredibly dramatic Goddess. Unless she summons another demon bird, there's no need to pay full attention. That, or he's a man listening to conversations between women

He WILL know if the mood shifts, because Nellie is a brick to the face, not poison in the food
WayfaringWaaksian WayfaringWaaksian

You're free to snap fingers in his face though. It doesn't seem too out of character for Nellie (from my perspective) to snap him back to reality especially after he gave his not-so-Daedric-friendly viewpoint to her

I'm a notorious zone-out in convos, so I get Arnold entirely, lol. Comes with having too active an imagination, though in his defense he's thinking practical thoughts. It's probably better anyway if Arnold hears Nellie's piece regarding her stance in the way Arnold needs to hear, not Jo. I think they should have that talk before Mariah gives the Coronation news while it's fresh on the mind, but that's just me.

And yeah, Nellie would snap him to attention if she noticed. Nancy is also a notorious zone-out, so she's used to it.

Btw, does Arnold mean "dramatic" in a disparaging way, or a matter-of-fact way? I'm assuming the latter, but I'm curious for something I'm formulating later.

It's matter of fact, since the Goddess's dramatic involved stripping Nancy, yet Nellie's dramatic is insanely sincere

The best description in Arnold's mind is, "When it's good, it's great. When it's bad, it's horrible."

I think they should have that talk before Mariah gives the Coronation news while it's fresh on the mind, but that's just me.
It will definitely happen before the Coronation. Especially since the trip to Avalon will happen in Orivae and not Pirate, I don't want to leave it unresolved. I would like Nellie to actually entrust Orivae to Arnold sincerely in the absence of both her and the Goddess, especially since Nellie doesn't trust Mariah. Few hours/days or not, it should serve as a step for Nellie in the trust department. That's what I envision anyways

I think that describes Nellie perfectly, lol.

I agree completely. Nellie doesn't have any real trust in anyone, honestly, aside from Vlad. And even that is marred due to him lying about something so serious for literally most of her life. She and Arnold don't need to agree on the specifics, but as long as the other knows that their priority lies with the people, all is well.

Excellent. Also, going forward, if something Arnold says is truly dumb, I want to know so I can change it. Either in the OOC itself, or the OOC in IC warning shot type deal (like I did with Melody and Sebas). I am all for exploiting flaws in text, but in the cases where the dialog is important to progression, I really want to tailor that. It's something I'm working on overall in my writing style.

And I mean the blatant "Nellie would never agree to this" or "this is not human emotion" type stuff, call it out.

Writing emotion in general is more a woman thing than a man thing and (being a man) I am looking to touch up the emotional aspect of my writing. When it works, it WORKS (like Demi first discovering that the ruins was her homeland), but I need to really COMMIT to it

IMO you're pretty good at RPing the emotional aspect. But this is coming from someone who hasn't had many normal human experiences, so feel free to take that with a grain of salt, lmao. But yes, I'll let you know if something comes across strange or would interrupt the flow of progression.

I'll especially give warning if something a character does would severely mar the relationship with one of mine, just so you get that choice if you want to go through with it or not. This is mostly in regards to the Twins, as they can be very unforgiving towards transgressions (ie trust issues).

Toron is like 3 square miles of those 20, in the dead center of the rock. I don't know if I ever gave the specs of Toron specifically, since we have been using Kraiven and Toron interchangeably. There have only been like 1 or 2 mentions of a place on Kraiven that ISN'T Toron
