I am similar in a way, I always intend to play certain builds with ME and even DA but I on the other hand tend to build the same builds too many times over. Though my reason is due to it being my favored class and usually not companion related. Though I do prefer some companions over others.

I don't mind him, but I more often bring Garrus and Tali in comparison. I've on occasion not brought any one of the three but thats kinda rare for me. But true, i know i personally do everything possible to avoid using my omni gel.
