I'll admit that it is somewhat difficult on a phone. Though my problem is less copy and pasting and more writing out a lot. I had to get my laptop out of its hidy hole :P

Sorry about this but it looks like that I have to drop out. It's just that I can't copy and paste from the playbook which makes it more difficult to create a character sheet. Sorry about that.

Sorry, I was busy with work all day. Sad that not the whole group stuck through chargen but them's the breaks with online games in my experience. If anyone else has trouble with the playbooks, maybe we can attach a plain text version? A text editing app should open that I'd guess. I'll have the sheet complete in a while, but it may still change to acommodate Risen's character.

Filled in the missing questions in my sheet. And I agree that another player could be cool, but that's really up to Wonder.

I’m okay with having another person. Which is convenient, because here’s another person.

Sorry to hear you’re dropping out, GeorgeTownRaja GeorgeTownRaja , but frankly that seems like an odd reason to leave. I can copy text in Playbooks and PM it to you if that’s an issue. But, of course, this is all your decision and I won’t get upset or anything. Just letting you know.

EbonChevalier EbonChevalier Have you played the game before? Do you have a certain playbook in mind?

I’m going to send out a flurry of PMs soon about y’all’s backstories, then we can do our Session 0.5. My plan is to do a quick little RP of the team meeting up for the first time.

First time hearing about MASK and first time playing the game I assumed the PDF you sent out in the previous thread was the corebook so I guess I'll use that if it is. Also, what is the schedule for this Roleplay?

'

I believe it's play by post so there is no schedule.

The two PDFs (Moves and Playbooks) on the Magpie website are basically all you need to start unless you want to look at some of the splats. The actual corebook is mostly fluff/expansions on all the information in those; if you have it, it's a nice resource to understand the themes and settings but it's not strictly necessary.

Also I might be swapping out my Playbook, so stay tuned folks.

Okay, so where can I post my character at.

We are currently discussing changing his character a bit.

And EbonChevalier EbonChevalier , if you have any questions on how chargen works, let me know in PMs or in this thread. The sheet I posed sorta assumes you know how the game works, so you might be confused at first glance.
I have no idea how chargen works or what systen this game runs on you going to have to explain all of that to me.

Okey dokey! We can do this via PM if that’s more comfortable for you. Here’s a checklist:

1.Choose a Playbook.
2. Fill out your Labels (+1 to one Label of your choice)
3. Choose your abilities, then Moves
4. Fill out Playbook-Specific Feature
5. Write a backstory

1. So as the ad said, the best way to visualize this game is that it’s an OC Teen Titans setting. The first step to character creation is to pick a “Playbook” - this is essentially your class. You’ve already chosen the Beacon, so onto the next step.

2.Your character’s stats are called “Labels”. These represent how people perceive you. They constantly shift - as the GM, part of my job is telling you to shift various Labels according to the actions you take. You don’t want any of these to be too high or too low - if any of them get higher than 3 or lower than -2, you take a penalty (known as a Condition)

You’ll see that your Playbook has starting Labels. Just fill out the numbers in your Character Sheet accordingly.

3. On the first page of your particular Playbook, it will have tiny checkboxes next to a list of superpowers. It’s important to note that these are mostly flavor, so just pick the ones that look the most fun. No, seriously, there’s very little mechanical difference between a guy with a bow and arrow and a guy with a sci-fi gravity gun.

Your Moves on the other hand, are much more mechanically driven. It’s quite a bit to explain all the various actions, but they’re self-explanatory.

4. Your Playbook-specific feature is called “Drives”. It’s very well explained so that should be okay. Potential is basically experience points, so you’ll want to choose these carefully.

For now, just ignore the bits about Influence, Relationships and “When Our Team First Came together.” We’re going to deal with that as a team.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me or post something here

Hey I'm my character learned from someone who was at some point a hero does that mean he's automatically in the mentor playbook?

Nah. Characters can have traits associated with playbooks without being those playbooks. So they can be aliens without being Outsiders, have fans without being Stars, etc. The playbook just determines their general character arc.
