Rosen put her elbow onto the table and cradled her head into her hand. She had to knock her being from Ellswyr out of his mind. Not that he would forget, more like, he had to stop inspecting that falsehood part of her life. The more he bore into it, the more her ruse would be shattered. They were both driving into each other's gimmicks. Peeling away layers, picking at the seams of their identities.

He had to be something special. Whether or not this Solarin was the Shade she was searching for, there was no way he was just an information prowling human. How he prodded her, that wasn't traditional. "Solarin," she plowed the splinter into her final roll, "I'm sorry to dishearten you, but I am no kind of aristocrat. That life style is far too stuffy for me." He knew that though. Surely, he knew that.

Rosen twisted the piece of wood in the roll before lifting it, eating and down more wine. The liquid was a little more than half way gone by this point. That was all she'd be willing to let slip into her body. She could function fine with that amount, especially with the sweet rolls in her stomach. "I do appreciate the rolls. Ask me another question." Rosen rolled her shoulders back and sat straight in her chair. "I will answer honestly," she smirked and narrowed her eyes.

Aeryn's eyes widened as did his smile. "Oh boy, what to ask, what to ask." He placed a finger on his cheek as the other hand cradled his glass. It was mostly gone, but he felt very little effect. He looked at her curiously, she stated she would answer honestly. But what exactly could she know? He thought it over for several moments as he watched her. "It's a shame you aren't just looking to run away from a stuffy ole' life. Hmmm, my question is...What are you after?" He placed his glass on the table, his smile was gone. But the mischief in his eyes remained, the cunning, knowing look he had. Although he wasn't sure who she was, or what she wanted all he had to do was ask. It couldn't be that easy right? But what did he have left to lose? "If you're going to be honest with me, then that's what I'd like to know at this moment. I don't believe your name, especially if you're from Ellswyr." He said with a chuckle before continuing. "I may not need to know your identity, but the way you ask questions of me, maybe I can help you?" He offered taking another sweet roll and watching her.

The corners of her mouth slid up into a sly smile. She grabbed her glass of wine and churned the liquid inside before placing it back on the table. "What am I after, aye?" She sniffed the air, there seemed to be another scent besides the sweet rolls, though she couldn't quite put her finger on where it came from. She eyes the firewood on the other side of the tavern. The people there were sporadically place, most had left and the fire was dimming. Perhaps the scent came from there, after so many bodies leaving, she finally noticed it.

"Solarin, surely you know what I'm after now." Rosen's sharp teeth gleamed off of what little light there was about them. "They always say keep your enemies close, right? I'm after you."

He watched her curiously for a short time. A moment that seemed to stretch. Then he chuckled, that chuckle quickly became a laugh. "I'm sorry, me?" He asked between breaths "Surely my dancing wasn't all that great that you somehow seem to have me? My dear, I don't know you just as well as you surely don't know me. What exactly could you want with me?" He asked curiously placing his wine glass down and folding his hands together. "Enemies huh? Have I crossed you in some past life? or slighted you during our dance?" He asked her, his calm smile never wavered. So long as he was in the shadows, he never really felt concerned. Besides, he had taken precautions, he always does. He watched her carefully, smiled his cunning smiled and waited.

Rosen listened to more drunks and dancers open the door, letting it slam behind them. There was a squeaking sound that reverberated along the particles in the air and chimed to her ears. Someone was polishing glasses. Likely planning to close up in the near future. The last blazes of the fire cascaded on the few who remained near it. Its gracious light pulled further and further away from the two, making Solarin's face become more obscured by the inky black of the night.

She glided her finger along the rim of the glass. It wasn't fancy. No music rang from her touch, but she used such movements to distract her from the darkness. "I can not recollect a single moment we've passed by, nor was the dance at all bad. In fact, I haven't had such fun in...I don't even know how long." Rosen gazed up to the ceiling. It had always baffled her that enemies could be her source of actual pleasure. Human interactions, such as dancing, was rare to come by for her. "I am sure you know why I am here. Why I am after you. What other reason would I have besides your identity?" There was that distinctive smell again, yet, she quickly let it leave her mind. While one finger tinkered with the glass, her other wrapped around a blade she owned.

andujarprime andujarprime

"Aww, why I'm flattered. Truly." He said to her and nodded. "But, what about me makes me a target? I haven't done anything an ordinary information broker wouldn't do. I can't imagine I'm so special. I mean yeah, I'm charming, good looking, and a good dancer." He winked and joked at her. " You already know who I am, I told you as much. I highly doubt I've made too many enemies in high places, since I don't visit them much." He shrugged as he finished his wine. His smile never wavered and his mind never stopped churning. He knew in fact that there were several hits out for him. Foreign diplomats, but they had hits out for his work name. How likely would it be that his mark was in fact here, sitting before him? Not very, but this is the world he lived in. She would be very well trained and even better informed. Ridiculously clever to find him, incredibly brave, or foolish to take him on alone. Especially at night. Or perhaps she wasn't as informed as she thinks.

He sat back and watched her, his eyes on her, then roaming the tavern. He could feel his mind calling to the shadows beneath and around him. It came as easily as breathing to him. "Just who exactly do you think I am? Who is it that you're after?" He asked watching her. He could see very well in the night, much better than most nocturnal animals in fact. He didn't miss the sharpness in her teeth when she smiled or spoke, and her accent had easily given way that she wasn't from Ellswyr. No, his land was home of the fae. Not many non-fae creatures resided in that cruel hierarchy of a place. Where only the purest of bloods rejoiced. Her eyes glowing, and her teeth were big hints as to her lineage. But he wouldn't make any guesses just yet.

"I nearly think it'd be best to prove who you are not." She pushed the wine glass to the middle of the table. The tavern door opened and shut again. "For I do not believe you own the name of Solarin. That simply does not sit well with me. Though, I also don't believe you often relinquish your true name to many. It is fair to believe that you keep that name for only those you hold dear in your life. I'm searching for a different name. One that masks your identity so you may be able to do what you wish."

Rosen tightened her grip around her silver blade. "I have a reason to be here. I am searching for someone, and as I know myself, I have determined that the way you hold your stature was unlike everyone who entered this tavern. Now, please, be open with me, I don't bite much. Honor me with your facade name," she cooed, but without waiting for him to answer, she flicked her wrist beneath the table, aiming her small, silver blade at his leg. Silver. If it cut him, for about five minutes, he'd receive double vision. If he dodged it, well, that would simply show his aptitude of such maneuvers, which in turn, would further verify his identity.

He watched her curiously, his smile never faltering. He found himself in quite the conundrum. He could feel movement beneath the table, the shadows there gave him all but true sight of what was going on. He could let her attack, continue his obliviousness. Which in truth she hadn't come out and said who exactly she was searching for. Or he could defend himself, or even take the initiative. What to do, what to do. "Solarin is my name as far as anyone who matters is concerned. It wasn't bought, or traded but freely given and earned. How that sits with you little miss is of no concern to me." He stated to her in a solid tone. "As for falsehoods, you shouldn't point fingers. Kilde is clearly not an Ellswyr name, nor is your accent. I at least have been truthful in my part. Any other name you're looking for? Well perhaps if you speak it, I may be able to help you find it." He looked around towards the patrons that had finaly begun making their way out. "I have given you pleasantries, and as much honesty as I can garner without putting anyone in too much danger. Yet you repay me in what? More demands for information?" His tone was beginning to grow impatient. The tavern was beginning to close up and there were still drunken patrons he could be interrogating for information. It would only be a matter of thought to disappear into the shadows, but this woman was dangerous. Dangerous and on his scent. He needed to clear her off his scent or deal with her otherwise.

"You could leave at any moment," Rosen stated as her mouth carved into a deep frown. He knew, didn't he? He knew the possible danger he could be put in if he stayed put. She slipped her blades into her coat, tugged on her gloves and stood. Rosen tilted her head forward and walked around the table to Solarin's side. "Here, will honestly admit it," her voice lowered. "No, I am not Kilde. My true name is Rosen. I will deceive you no more, though I will withhold the truth on occasion. As we all do that." She stopped next to him. Standing while he sat made her feel as if she had more authority over the situation. She could sense his impatient tone, and, as she was attempting to be more authentic, she felt the same exact way. "I think I am done playing games," she cooed and leaned forward. "Would you, perhaps, if you're willing," she paused as she put her hand on the table, looming over him the best a female could, "would you let me capture you?"

andujarprime andujarprime

He turned his head to watch her as she stood. "Miss Rosen, you still haven't told me who exactly you think I am. And why exactly you would want to capture me?" He asked her curiously. The name Rosen didn't mean anything to him. Not yet anyway. But he would rectify that soon enough. He shrugged "I've never been a captive before, it could be fun." He said before chuckling waiting for her to answer. He looked up at her and knew the kind of psychological games that positions played. He imagined she believed herself to have the upper hand. How wrong she could be, in this tavern, in this darkness. He was in his element, there could be no surprises in the shadows around him and he knew it. It was just a matter of time before she knew as well.

The tavern door opened again. An uncertain amount of people left, leaving the sound of worker footsteps and the crackle of the dying fire. As the place filled further with nightfall, Rosen's eyes began to flicker until they stayed permanently aglow. That is, until she was in enough light again. "In this world, in this age, there are few who are more valuable captured than dead." She curled her fingers on the table, clawing into the wood.

A voice sounded as the door opened again. "Pour some water over the embers. I don't want my tavern to burn down while we're closed." There was a call of agreement and a splash of water. The entire place filled with darkness, besides the moonlight that filtered through the windows. "Come on, let's head home." The door closed once more, yet, not without a click of the lock.

Rosen was a tad shocked. They were that far back, the workers didn't even notice there were still customers inside. "Why do you think someone wants you captured?"

He chuckled and shrugged in the darkness. “It all depends on who you think I am miss Rosen. Solarion doesn’t have many enemies. Yet you claim that isn’t my name. Who do you believe me to be?” He looked up, her eyes glowing in the darkness. He knew now without a doubt who he was dealing with. There was only word about it recently, but her insistence and determination left no doubt. But Rosen? He hadn't ever heard that name, was this a new alias? They were alone now, in the dark. "I must be a very particular individual, according to you anyway right? There aren't many people who are requested for capture. That's usually reserved for important aristocrats and nobles, sometimes even assassins. Who am I miss Rosen?" He didn't rise from his seat, but scooted closer, placing a single hand on the back of hers. "Who. Am. I?" He asked again, his words more pointed and louder in the utter darkness. A thin layer of what could easily be mistaken for sweat had formed on the palm of his hands as he rested one on her. But it had all played according to his game. The vial he had earlier was a paralyzing agent, in a few minutes it would seep into her pores and spread. She would be left vulnerable, for how long depended on her body's metabolism. She wasn't human, and most likely an assassin. Most were trained in poisons and had some minor resistance as he did. Thus the paralyzation would last maybe 5 minutes, 10 at best. But that's all he would need to get away.

AEONmeteorite AEONmeteorite

A tremor shot up Rosen's spine as she felt his hand lay on hers. It was for no other reasons except for the fact that he was touching her. It wasn't the same as when they had been dancing. It made her feel ill. It twisted her stomach and fiddled with her emotions. He had come closer to her. Not many would have such grit to do that. His hand was...moist. It made her cringe and add to the troublesome feelings she had acquired. Rosen determined that his clammy hands were due to their exhausting dance. Yet, for some unidentified reason other than the awkward situation, she whipped her hand away, back to her body.

He had spoken sharp words to her. This was no longer a, who bites who, situation. The two were beginning to delve into the abyss in the utter darkness. Her eyes bloomed with fuchsia light. Her fingertips followed along, popping a little luster on each one as she took a couple steps back. Her mouth curled into smile again as she said, "Shade. Is that you?"

andujarprime andujarprime

"Shade? Oh my, I'm sorry." His voice had changed. His tone was a bit darker, but his voice more melodious. Kind of entrancing, leave it to the fae in his blood. His ears regained their long points, and his canines regained their edge once more. Of course this couldn't be seen in the darkness. With just a thought and slight rustle in the dark he pulled himself into the world of shadows. Time and distance were different there. One small step was all it took for him to step out into the darkness behind her. "I'm sorry you're stuck looking for me miss Rosen." His voice barely above a whisper no as he stepped up behind her. A single hand on her hip, a slight pressure and he was gone once more into the darkness. "I can only imagine" He appeared a few feet to her right then disappeared once more. "That you would have to be quite bold, and quite skilled to seek me out." To her right now, stepping out of the shadows. Then back in. "And be filled with enough misfortune to actually find me." He finished sitting atop the bar several feet from her. "In a matter of moments the toxin will have coursed its way through your blood. You may even begin to feel the paralysis right about now. Don't worry though, I'm not trying to kill you. But I would definitely like to know who sent you."

AEONmeteorite AEONmeteorite

She shivered when she watched what little he could see of his figure disappear, and quaked in her feet when she felt a hand touch her hip. It was a familiar touch now after dancing with him. Rosen bared her sharp teeth and rumbled a growl beneath her breath. The tips of her fingers glowed more and more as she heard him speak with his silver tongue. "Misfortune follows me," she managed to say, though, she took note of how tight her jaw felt. She rolled her shoulders in, every bit of her was slow and uneasy. And then, he told her exactly what was happening.

Rosen gasped and shot her eyes to her hand before craning her rigid neck toward his voice. She snarled as her hands illuminated a fine portion of the tavern. Enough that she could witness his face again. She strained against her body. It felt like she was prisoned in her own skin. She pointed her fingers and pulled back her elbow. A spinning orb of massive amounts of grand magnitudes of luster formed beside one of her hands. Careful, forced breaths pushed through her lungs as she prepared to launch the projectile. She steadied and aimed, "What ever happens...I will not divulge such information." She cleared her throat and...

Her fingers didn't move. A cold sweat brewed on the nape of her neck as she was unable to launch her shooting star. Rosen thought fast. Flipping through all the options she had as her knees began to buckle. She took the final ounce of her movement to force herself forward. Mouth open wide, she let the star into her mouth as she fell forward. Once she hit the wooden floor, she swallowed. Unable to move.

He raised an eyebrow in curiosity when he saw her go down. He knew the toxin had taken effect but unsure of how long it would last. "Well, that was definitely interesting." He said aloud as he hopped off the bar. He quickly made his way to her and kneeled down. Placing a hand against her neck ensuring she was breathing satisfied he focused on the shadows. "Ready for a trip?" He ask without expecting much reply. The shadows rose from the ground enveloping them both. It took several steps through the shadow world before he emerged once more. They were outside of town now, deep in the dead woods. The shadows had taken physical form and bound her hands and feet. They held her mouth closed but left her eyes open as they pulled her merely inches above the ground. The moon was out and bright now and his features were finally revealed. He chanced a look back to see if she was moving yet. "You alright back there? I don't take many people into the shadows. If you're gonna heave your dinner, please don't do it on the shadows, they don't like that." He said in a joking manner as he made his way deeper into the woods. The trail they followed was a narrow dirt path. Almost untraceable in the dark, and with trees jutting out randomly. Howls could be heard in the night, and movement in the dried brushes of the dark deep recesses of the woods. Before them loomed a dark mountainside, and on the face of that mountain, right at the base was a cave entrance. The markings around it, and strewn carcasses would lead one to believe it was inhabited by a demon bear. Very large, very angry, very dangerous animal with human level intellect.

"Make her feel at home! She should be coming to right about now." He said to seemingly nobody in particular. Out of the shadows a tall thin figure stepped. It was made of an inky black substance and it lifted her in its long, large hands. It's grip seemed to be of iron as it brought her to a tree and melted into it. leaving its arms around her holding her fast to the tree. Shade turned to face her now, awaiting her to begin moving. She would have been conscious throughout the whole journey, and he had taken extra care not to mistreat her. Battered captives weren't always so eager to spill he reminded himself. Violence was not usually his first choice after all.

AEONmeteorite AEONmeteorite

She scowled with little movement she could muster as he approached her and rested his hand on neck. That irked her. The fact that he was doing that was an issue. If he wanted her dead, now was the time to kill her, but he was checking to see if she was alive. That was an assassin's worst nightmare. Well, it was most assassin's worst nightmare.

Her eyes shook as she watched shadows rose and enveloped the two. It was an unconscious decision of Rosen to start tearing up. Darkness and she had no way to illuminate her night to combat it. It wasn't even a strenuous time in the shadows, but it was enough for her. Once they exited, her breathing was messy. She couldn't heave large amounts of air as her lungs wanted. As soon as they got there, the shadows took hold of her body, much to her surprise as she thought he would figure that she was well enough restrained with the toxins. This man knew better though. It didn't appear he cut any corners or precautions.

The more she saw, the more she had inklings of regret going after this target. While she was strong, never having too much trouble taking down a target, this man was everything she feared. Even after other assassin's attempted to capture her, she was fine, but everything she saw and felt made her heart leap into her throat.

And, as she was brought to the tree and restrained there, her fingertips began to twitch. She sighed inwardly, seeing that her body was fighting it off as it should. Her tongue slowly gained movement again and the muscles in her face gave way to function again. Nonetheless, she kept quiet, attempting to act as if it hadn't begun wearing off more than her fingertips.

Shade watched her curiously. He could feel her fingers twitching in the shadows, from experience she should be coming to soon. "So, miss Rosen. Or as known by most 'Meteor'" He chuckled as he watched her. "This is actually a very great night for me. You see, while you were looking for me. Turns out I was looking for you. Life's funny like that ain't it?" He laughed to himself as he waited for her to come back. He was leaning up against a table in a corner of the makeshift room. The cave was much larger than it appeared possible from the outside. After watching her for a minute he left the room. He came back in after a few minutes with a vial of bright liquid in his hand. He placed it on the table beneath the torchlight ensconced in the cave wall. "Liquid sunlight it's called. It burns like an inferno summoned up by the queen of the summer court." He explained before turning his attention to her. "So, I know you're awake. You aren't human, and that toxin should have worked it's way out. Now let's start with the fun stuff. I don't like violence usually, but I'm prepared. I'm always prepared..."

AEONmeteorite AEONmeteorite

Rosen's body jolted as she heard her codename slip from his mouth. Usually, she could put together who was after her, but, for the first time, she couldn't conjure a reason as to why someone would want her captured. It seemed as though someone did their research. While her race wasn't known, or at least, common knowledge, her power surely was. In the short moments she had known Shade, it was apparent that he was clever and strong witted. She had fooled people many times, claiming she was a human mage, but he figured her out. Not only that, but who ever sent Shade made a wise decision. Not just because of the shadows he controlled. Rosen was far more aggressive, loud, hulking and bore her teeth. He, from what she could tell, was precise and thoughtful.

Two polar opposites, seemingly after each other. She narrowed her eyes, following every crevice and depth of his face. She wanted to be prepared for anything. She was taken aback when she saw the vial. Just about drooling beneath the shadows as she dreamed of what it may taste like, yet, quickly shook away those thoughts as she was reminded the dire situation she was in.

She struggled against the shadows and tried to make wiggle room to set herself free. They weren't ropes or chains. It wasn't anything she was familiar with. Rosen didn't know what to do in order to give way to freedom and escape. Thus, she let the star she consumed dwell within her.

andujarprime andujarprime

Shade watched her curiously. Followed her eyes, even when they lingered on the small bottle and then continued. ‘That was a strange’ look he thought to himself. Why would she be interested in that? He stepped a bit closer, very confident that his shadows wouldn’t give way. “I’m happy to see you gracing is with your presence.” He said in a low voice. He didn’t have to be loud, it was only them in the small room. Well, then and the bats hanging from the ceiling. “Try not to be too loud please. I wouldn’t want to wake my friends. Them up there.” He said pointing up into the darkness.”Or the ones in the other rooms.” He said with an ominous tone. “You wouldn’t mind telling me who’s after me would you? And why?” He asked politely. He knew it was pretty futile but he thought he might as well try the easy way. “You don’t have to, I can always get my hands dirty. I just wanted to grant you the chance since you did offer me such a nice dance tonight.” He explained with that cunning smile of his as he stepped back, his hands folded behind his back.

AEONmeteorite AEONmeteorite

A guttural growl fell between Rosen's lips. She refused to open her mouth for a number reasons. Giving away the person who bought her services just like that would be against her own moral code. And, she couldn't think of a single reason as to why she wanted to give it away to him. Him, who had her trapped among the darkness she found terror to be in and trapped with. Even if her consternation hadn't grown this significant, there was no doubt that Rosen would prefer to stay silent to him.

What's more was the star in her stomach. Spinning and filling her body with the light she so desperately sought after. Opening her mouth just a tad too much would let it escape and become useless. She clenched her jaw and pushed her legs back into the tree, figuring out if she could dent into it to make and allowance for her escape. There was a tiny cracking sound near her ankle, but, and she wasn't sure how to describe it, the shadows didn't get her leeway, and only appeared to push her back against the bark.

Rosen kept her teeth knitted together as she furrowed her brow. And, with only moving her lips and never opening her mouth, she said, "No."

He looked at her with a big frown on his face. That frown lasted maybe a minute before he shrugged with a smile. "Well, I tried. That question was more for my benefit than anything else honestly." He said as he turned around to the table. He unfolded what seemed to be a heavy piece of black leather. In the torchlight dark metal appliances could be seen inside. Strapped to the sides of the pack as it now lay flat, he turned back to her with a frown. "I wasn't lying when I said I don't rightly like violence. But I can't have you runnin away, or being a danger to my employer." He claimed as he took a few steps closer, his hand behind his back. "Don't worry, we wont stay here too long. This isn't our final stop. It's only a preparation area. A necessary detour if you will." He said waving his free hand. He stood several feet before her and watched her curiously. "Soo, I've heard a rumor. About the mighty meteor. Everyone knows she ain't human. But very few can claim to know or even guess at her true lineage. Different types of fae, elf, sprite, pixie even. Some say a type of lycan, or even divine being. But the most popular rumor I've been hearing around is demon." He smiled dangerously at her as he took a step closer. "However, it's hard to believe the big bad meteor can be part demon when I've caught her so easily." He said with a slight frown. "Taking all the fun out of the hunt." He sighed then pulled his hand around to reveal a syringe filled with a dark muddy looking substance. "But don't worry, the hunt isn't exactly over." He wasn't exactly sure why he did it, but he did. He willed the shadows in the cave to come to life in strange shapes, one of them expunging the torch. Plunging them into near complete darkness, save for the inferno elixir on the table several feet behind him. Then he allowed the shadows to loosen their grip on her. "Consider this our last dance of the evening miss Rosen." He said as he slipped into the shadow world.

AEONmeteorite AEONmeteorite

The number one thing a demon hated was being caught. Her nose flared as he mentioned his employer. She refused. She shunned such an idea of her getting in the hands of someone else. After all these years, tons of years, of bringing down people, nothing like this had happened to her before. Rosen was an antsy individual. Such was weaved in her genetics.

Her eyes widened as she saw a syringe in his hand. The only word that repeated in her head was, no. But, there wasn't much time to do anything as the torches about the place were smothered and darkness caressed her being. The exclusive thing that kept foundation to her sanity was the elixir. The whites of her eyes shown greatly as she didn't break contact with it, that is, until the shadows loosened their grip on her. She pushed her body against the bark until the shadows slipped off of her entirely and landed on the ground below.

Rosen bit her bottom lip as she stepped closer to the elixir. Listening. Feeling the atmosphere prickle her skin and turn the hair on her arms on end. She was trying to save the star as an attack, but changed her mind as she was well aware she hadn't a single chance with so much darkness around her. The demon tilted her head back, inhaled with her nose and opened her mouth. An eerie scream dragged out of her body as the star shot out of her mouth and stopped above her. It spun for a moment before blossoming and expanding into a luster that brought light to the entire room of the cave she was in. It would last for around 5 minutes. She figured it'd be enough time to escape, especially if...

She launched herself forward, wrapped her fingers around the elixir and without opening it, she swallowed the whole thing. A burst of alleviation filled her up. It was just a tidbit of light, but it was enough to make her feel like she was on fire again. The tips of her fingers illuminated once more as she eyed the now lit room.

andujarprime andujarprime

The sudden burst of light caught Shade completely off guard. He was in the shadow realm when it happened and was almost completely thrown from the room. He found a small window of darkness beneath the table. He didn’t step out just yet but watched from within the shadows. She ran to the table, he couldn’t see what was happening but he waited curiously. As she stood there he decided to continue his game. He let his hand slip into the world, picked up a rock and tossed it at her foot before slipping back in. He disappeared into the shadows completely, within a few steps he was in another room in the cave. He poked his head out and managed to come out in an upper corner of the room. “Burn bright meteor! The brightest lights cast the darkest shadows y’know!” He teases from another room. His voice reverberating through the cave halls.

AEONmeteorite AEONmeteorite

The moment the rock hit her foot, in a flash, she lifted her leg and stomped down, turning the rock into dust. Rosen squinted her eyes as she realized that it wasn't anything threatening. And, as his voice rebounded off the walls of the cave, she spilled into a chuckle. "Aye, you are indeed correct, Shade. Giving birth to shadows, that's what I'm made to do. Without me, you wouldn't exist." She paused for a few heartbeats and gazed around the lit room. She refused to leave the place, as it was the securest area for her. "You must have forgotten though. The more lights there are, the more shadows are destroyed."

Rosen pointed her fingers, pulling back an arm. She didn't attempt to aim and use it as a weapon. This time, she gulped it up at the point it was formed. She pulled back her hand again and devoured one more. Then, she glued her mouth shut. From what she knew, light demons were far and rare in between. The last time she heard of another one being alive was when she was a toddler. Nonetheless, there were histories of such creatures. She had heard of light demons consuming their star for days, creating bomb-like explosions upon manual release, due to slow energy absorption from the bearer. She had never come close to conquering such things. Rosen was just barely keeping her mouth sealed shut as is. If the stars were let out unintentionally, then they'd fizzle into nothing.

Once again, she pulled back her elbow. The star that formed was far smaller than the last three she had created. It'd still do enough damage if it hit a target straight on. After creating three stars, it was tough to make bigger ones. She decided to let the two stars sit within her until she was ready to terminate the shadows around her once she released them like the one over head.
